I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Dream on!

You're talking about converting a display format file, probably a raster based graphic, into a vector based file. I don't think that's going to happen.

Hi,

At work, we recently upgraded from Visio 2000 to Visio 2003.

Mistake. Big mistake. Huge.

Now, when we try to edit the graphics, we get the same types of problems that many other users have reported: lines don't connect; text is improperly kerned (spaced between letters); text appears lighter (medium gray) in print and on screen; some elements don't display.

Has anyone been successful at getting Visio 2000 images into Visio 2003 format without heavy image editing?

well my cousin convinced my mom that she needed microsoft access so he brings over microsoft office 2000 and installs it... including everything im pretty sure, i wasnt here when it happened. but he installed word outlook excel powerpoint and access, but we already have the 2003 version of everything except access. and now the old microsoft outlook (2000) has taken over all email rights, as in the links from start menu and internet explorer. So is there a way to get rid of all of microsoft office 2000 except for access? Because when i tried uninstalling microsoft office 2000 it said are you sure you want to uninstall all components? so i wasnt sure so i clicked cancel, well hopefully that made sense, and please help!

Hi all

I am using Windows XP and office 2003. I am using Microsoft Office Picture Manager to view tif files.

PROBLEM:

1. I open a tif file.
2. I make an annotation change eg: Use the hightlighting tool to hightlight some text. Fine, no problem!
3. I save the document.
4. I close the document and try reopening it:

I get this error:

"The file selected is not a valid Microsoft Document Imaging file"

I recreated my Windows XP profile and this resolved the problem

That was two weeks ago........now the problem is back!

Any ideas?

Hello everyone, just wondering if someone here could help me with what is a very annoying but silly problem. It is quite hindering however as it is making my work very difficult as i am working to a deadline (monday 22nd December)

Whenever i take the cursor to the middle of an already written paragraph to add something to the sentence, as i write, all the words after what i am writing disappear/ are simultaneously being deleted.

It wasnt happening the last time i was working on this, but it has happened before, and i know that it is just a simple problem. Just wondering if anyone knew how i can fix this.

Many Thanks

My trial version of office expires march 31st and I don't want to spend hundreds of dollars for a product key (big ripoff ). Is there any way to get another key??

A:Microsoft Office 2003

Steve,

I am pretty sure, if there is a way, that you wont find it here as this is not a site that encourages piracy or software activation hacks. Neither will you find password hack advice regardless of genuity of your inquiry.

I think that the only way to get Office on your computer legally is to purchase the key for it. If you know of any friends who have kids in college or school, or indeed if you or anyone in your family is completing education full time, you can get Office at discount for students and teachers which consists of sending to Microsoft an officially stamped and signed verification form (which is in the box you buy). Once MS have verified that the information is genuine, they will send you the prod key/install cd's.

I'm sure this hasn't been much help but its the only way round your budgetary problem and will keep your copy of Office legal.

If you install a pirate version or one without credentials, you may not be able to get any support or download updates or patches if you have problems and such installations could cause problems with other elements of Windows. Its alot of money for the real McCoy but the peace of mind for having genuine software in my opinion is priceless.

If you have an older version of Office try to stick with it for a while if 2003 is too expensive but whatever you do don't cut corners else you'll find yourself posting more advice requests in more technical areas of this forum at a later date and your Offi... Read more

I am have a TON of problems with Microsoft Office 2003 (Mainly Word and Excel). This is a work computer I am on, and I do most of my work in both of those applications (naturally, they are the ones with the problem). My problem comes after I open or try to open any application in word or excel. It will act like it is "thinking" but will then freeze up. I have to "End the process" every time. It also becomes a problem when I need to print a document because it will freeze up in the middle of trying to print.

Does anyone have any idea of what is going on with my computer?? Is there any way to fix this mess?!?! I am VERY much in need of these applications right now!

I am running windows Xp and I have office 2003 installed. I like to make cards and invitations and prepare my photos for printing in office. Because I text wrap them to move them or size them I cannot copy and paste.
What I do not like is that when I save them or e-mail them they stay in the office page with all the tool bars and such. When I go to where they are saved they are in a doc box that has to be opened. It takes away from my creations to have them surrounded by all the toolbars and things.
Lately I have been printing and then scanning and saving, but this seems a round about way of doing things, not to mention the waste of ink. Is there a better way? Does anyone know how I can remove just my creations for E-mailing or to save?

If all else fails, try this:
Log on to the computer by using an Administrator user account.
Start Microsoft Windows Explorer.
On the Tools menu, click Folder Options.
Click the View tab.
Under Hidden files and folders, click Show hidden files and folders.
Click to clear the Hide extensions for known file types check box, and then click OK.
Open the following folder:

Right-click Opa11.dat, and then click Properties.
Click the Security tab.

How did you install XP Home? Did you format? If so, I take it you just copied the Program Files directory.

Well, you're going to need to install Office - you can't just copy the files (that's only part of the install).

You may want to consider reinstalling XP (formatting this time), then installing your apps fresh.

A:Microsoft Office 2003 Locked

The suite/applications have gone into what we call Reduced Functionality Mode (RFM). Were you prompted to activate the product every time you opened the application ? If so did you happen to ignore those prompts? Ignoring the activation prevents you from using the application after a month or so, without activation.

Open Word --> Click on the Office Button --> Word Options --> Resources --> Click on Activate button on the right hand side.

Activate online if the computer has an internet connection (preferrably highspeed so it doesnt time out). Else go for the Phone activation and call the 1800 number that shows up on the second step. If you dont see the number post here I will give it to ya (Dont have it right away to save you that trouble)

Mt computer with Windows XPSP3 was fried by a lightning storm. I have no choice but to convert to Windows 7. I have been experiencing much grief because I cannot use the software that I know and love on windows 7...until I found out about Wow64 which, outfitted with an Intel processor, will allow me to switch from 64 bit to 32 bit. so I can run my software from Windows XP on Windows 7 after all....this I have yet to try since I have not yet received the computer with Windows 7. My question is this: When I set up the Windows XP computer, I used OEM software for Windows XPSP2 and Microsoft Office 2003. Windows was upgraded to SP3 in the meantime. Now, with Windows 7 and Wow 64, I want to use Microsoft Office 2003 because I need all of the programs on 2003 and they are not all there on Microsoft Office for Windows 7. I read that, although Windows XP OEM software cannot be transferred to a different computer, OEM Microsoft Office 2003 can be used on another device provided it is still based on the original license from the OEM Windows XP software and the computer it was installed on.

Is this true? What info do I need to know to do this? What problems could I encounter?, I don't think it is illegal, but I'm no computer wizard.

Can anyone help me with this and, perhaps provide insight that I am not aware of? My LIFE depends on being able to run all the software from Windows XP on Windows 7.

Thanks for your help.

When I open Excel 2003 the splash screen hangs for 30 seconds to about a minute and then excel opens and behaves normally.
All other office programs such as Word etc open quickly and behave normally.
If Excel is opened in safe mode , the program opens rapidly without any splash screen at all.

Any explanations and indeed a cure for this behaviour ?

Regards

Flynne

Hi,

I installed a trial for Microsoft office 2010 when I was working on some college work to see if it would be worth upgrading. I have microsoft office 2003 already on my laptop. When the trial finished I unistalled the 2010 version but now when i try to open documents from e-mails it wont open up in the 2003 version. I have to then open up e.g word and find the file from there. Any ideas how i can change the settings to make Microsoft office 2003 the default for my documents.

Thanks

Susan

Can anyone tell me where I can get an easy to understand tutorial for the above - online and free (if one exists please) thanks

A:microsoft office professional 2003

I wouldn't worry too much about the tutorials being for 2003. Most tutorials cover the simple things, which haven't changed since the beginning of software. I've been able to find lots of tutorials by doing a Google search. It's just a matter of how you type your search criteria. Try this, and USE THE QUOTES how I show them:

"free tutorial" Microsoft Word

Then, change Word to Excel, then change Excel to PowerPoint, and so on...

Go to the Microsoft Office update site here and let it scan your computer for updates. The SP1 upgrade will be detected, at which time you'll be given the choice to download it and install it. The file size is slightly over 20 MB, so it'll take awhile to download on a 56K dial-up connection. Once the download is complete, the install will occur automatically.
