Iv'e been reading up on the process, and I have came across people talking about throtling issues and how it is very difficuit to replace. So just for my peace of mind, could one of you confirm one of these is correct and would work fine? https://www.amazon.com/Crucial-2280SS-Single-Internal-CT250MX200SSD4/dp/B019ROAAEU/ https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-850-EVO-3-5-Inch-MZ-N5E500BW/dp/B00TGIW1XG/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top?i... https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Series-512GB-PCIe-NVMe/dp/B01639694M The pro SSD looks like it has different connectors to the others. I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello everyone , yesterday i've received my new laptop acer vn7-792g , it's all great , comfortable , everything seems fine except 2 things. Battery (any ideas if its possible to remove it , because immo i'll screw the battery if its IN the laptop permanently especially when im gaming) and the second problem is Heating (i dont really know if its a problem) so while im not playing anything these are my temperatures --> https://postimg.org/image/uwuxodqbr and while gaming this is what is happening --> https://postimg.org/image/d3xfgtipt/ (once measured about 85 C GPU!!) Is that normal?? Please any helpful ideas..

Hi, It's perfectly normal. It's a notebook with small heatsink and not a PC with a huge fan and heatsink. The temperatures are normal, and it can go even higher which can cause your CPU and GPU to throttle. In case of the 792G since it is a 17 inch one, you probably will not have problems with throttling because it can have bigger airflow than a smaller 15 inch one. And regarding the battery. Is not removable, or you can remove it just if you take apart the notebook. But generaly is not a removable battery.

I cannot get the VGA driver for the nVidia 960M to install on my Acer Aspire V17 Nitro Black Edition VN7-792G-71ZL.  I am using the driver found on the Acer site.  I am hoping there is a straightforward solution from Acer for this problem.  I did, however, have no problems installing bios updates, firmware and the VGA driver for Intel graphics.

Hello,I have a problem with my Acer ASpire V Nitro Black Edition Laptop - Ultra HD screen.I have Windows 10 November Update. From time to time, but not the same period, the screen suddenly goes blank for a second.I suspect this to be a driver problem.I tried the acer driver and also the WIndows 10 generic one.Any ideas to what tests I can do? Or is it a driver in the works for that version of Win 10?The embedded video card is Intel HD Graphics 530. Thank you.

Hi everybody! Approximately a month ago I bought this laptop. A few days of work I had found that my eyes are tired extremely fast and when I use another notebook or external monitor they just relaxing. I tried all possible settings but it is hard to work with screen not only in Windows, but in Linux too. Even if you just go to BIOS, your eyes just crucifying. I found different LCD tests and has cheched this notebook LCD. I had found that phasing test fails, after that I just went to service center and they had replaced screen. All tests passed well. But I felt not comfort while working on it. My eyes strained less but this not comfort effect had left. And I asked my friends, they said that they do not feel comfort with this screen. My oculist says that I have a healthy eyes and all problems is with that notebook. So it passes all online screen tests but harms my eyes. Service center cannot take this to repair, they say that there are no problem with the screen. I do not know what to do... Some people says that it is display controller problem and to fix it just need to flash new rom. But I have the latest BIOS 1.0.9...Any suggestions? Now I must work via HDMI to save my eyes...

Hi, to the group. I am seeking help to troubleshoot an issue with my VN7 notebook noted in the subject. Issue: the HDMI output on my VN7 notebook stopped working. The HDMI output was working fine. No hardware changes to notebook or external monitor since last known good. I've tested my HDMI cables and HDMI monitor using my desktop and tablet devices which all work fine to display output via HDMI on the same equipment. Did I mistakenly flip a bit or setting to disable HDMI on my notebook? Is there a way to run HDMI diagnostics on the VN7? I also tried searching related questions asked by other members. A lot of people use HWinfo to help them determine what brand of HDD they have installed. https://www.hwinfo.com/download.php If you're asking the question as a pre-purchase question......here's the entire list of primary and secondary drives that Acer might use in that model.  Maybe someone else can tell you which one is installed on the specific serial number you're inquiring about.

I am a sophomore architecture student and for studio I bought the Acer Aspire v17 Nitro.
It is equipped with:

i7 intel core
860m Nvidia Geforce GTX
Windows 10
16 GB RAM
64-bit operating system with x64 based processor
Norton security
So in terms of requirements to run the many programs need for architecture including: CAD, Revit, Adobe..etc, this computer should kick ***. However, I have been running into more and more issues. For starters the touch pad has little to no response (I knew this may be a problem when I bought it. I just wanted to know if anyone could suggest a fix). The main issue is that programs are constantly crashing. For example, Word always crashes even if I have no other programs running. The same goes for Spotify and Outlook. Revit and Adobe all crash several times when I use the computer. If a program crashes and others are running, either just the one program crashes or the entire computer gives up and crashes. I paid a lot of money for a computer that should be able to run multiple design programs and this cannot even run Word.

In terms of troubleshooting, I have run security scans and computer cleaners but nothing has come up. I have looked at background apps and turned many off. I turned off many of the start up programs, but still no changes.

Any suggestions?

A:Acer Aspire v17 Nitro problems

When a machine crashes at many unrelated tasks, it might be a problem with the RAM. Run Memtest for a few hours and see if it detects anything.

Running computer cleaners is bad. There is nothing that needs cleaning, especially on a brand new machine. And the registry does not require cleaning. These cleaner programs cause many problems.

Hi forum, I recently bought the Acer Aspire V Nitro VN7-591 and I noticed that it only comes with the Core Edition of Windows 8.1. I still have an unused Pro retail key (no OEM, no Upgrade Pack) here so at the moment I'm downloading the ISO for Windows 8.1 Pro. But prior to installation I would like to make sure that everything works out fine and I don't run intro problems. First of all: is there anything I need to save from the old OS (except from the recovery partition- I already saved that to a USB drive using the recovery program provided by Acer)? Do I have to disable secure boot in BIOS? Second: can I just install Windows 8.1 Pro using my ISO and installing the drivers from the Acer support website?  Changing the Operating System may cause driver conflicts. The compatible drivers for Windows 8.1 will not be available in the website for this laptop. Hence, some of the features on the laptop might not work after changing the OS.  1: Since you have already created the USB recovery media from the laptop, you do not have to copy anything else other than this.  Make sure you you backup all files before installing the OS, as it will remove all data from the laptop. I see that, you have the unused Pro retail key for the OS, hence, you do not have to have the OEM product key. You need to use the product key for Windows 8.1 Pro to activate it, not the Acer OEM product key.  In the BIOS, select BOOT tab.  Select BOOT MODE as Legacy Mode instead of UEFI.Disable Secure Boot. Under Boot Priority Order, you need to select 1 as CD/DVD (if you are using disc), or USB FDD or USB HDD (if you are using USB drive) to install Windows 8.1 Pro.  Then press the F10 key and select "Yes" to save the changes in BIOS.  ->You an install Windows 8.1 Pro using my ISO and installing the drivers from the Acer support website. Sorry, but it looks like only a limited quantity of these were shipped to the Microsoft store. That is the only retailer I know that carries this specific model. If they do not have any stock of this model, I do not know of another location where you could purchase it from. You may try looking at other versions of the VN7-572TG.

Hey everyone,So I bought the Acer Aspire V Nitro black edition in October last year. It's been working like a charm ever since until suddenly today the laptop would just go black while i game. I thought the battery had died so i just plugged it in. But now the light is blue and my screen says battery is 100%, but if i remove the AC adapter, poof, laptop dies.Do i basically have no choice but to have the battery replaced or is there something i can do?

A:Acer Aspire V Nitro only works when plugged in

Sorry to hear you are having problems with your Acer Nitro. Since the system shuts down after unplugging the AC adapter, chances are the battery needs to be replaced. If you purchased this in October 2015, contact information for warranty repair is posted at http://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/service-contact. Or you can also book the repair online at https://customercare.acer.com/customercare/.

Just got it, it came pre-installed with Linpus Linux Lite so I installed Windows 8.1 on it. I used the CD that came with the PC to install the drivers. Everything worked well, but sadly, the WiFi driver just does not work. It does connect to my router, but once I try to load something, it instantly goes to limited connectivity, disallowing me to do anything. I am able to access the router panel, but the router isn't the problem here - everything works well on my Android phone. Any help?

I have visited acer care centre many times but sadly they are not able diagnose the problem. I have also restore windows 10 to windows 8 acc. to acer service centre direction but it didn't help. Hi all: I have a problem with my laptop (model VN7-571G). After a recent Windows 10 update, now I am not able to connect the laptop to my flat  LG TV via HDMI. I think it has to be related to Intel Graphics 5500 (current driver 20.19.15.4483). When I connect the laptop to my flat TV, laptop screen goes black but TV message says "Without Conection". The HD Intel Graphic Control Panel only detects laptop screen. When I connect TV to HDMI port recognizes it for half a second, and then TV is not detected again. I cannot install Intel Drivers as I have to go to Acer webpage to get driver, which is the last version I already have. Computer was working ok till last update.Do I have to wait to get new driver from Acer when it is ready, or do I format computer and start from zero?. Thanks for your help.

Hi, Of course you can install the latest intel driver from the intel webpage but just with a little bit of tricks. However, I cannot tell you that the latest driver from intel will solve the issue you are experiencing. Download the .zip file from here: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26228/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10-and-Windows-7-8... Then follow the instructions of jose423, which is marked as a solution from this post: http://community.acer.com/t5/V-and-VN-Series-Laptops/VN7-591G-latest-driver-2016/m-p/434317#M10190 This will install the intel driver even if you have a "custom manufacturer driver".

The touchpad drivers install but do nothing, I seen a post saying install IO drivers but those don't install. Selecting my laptop model and then Windows 10 64bit and downloading the IO drivers, they say "system not supported". None of these drivers seem to work, how do I get these working?  The laptop came with 8.1 installed and I upgraded that; however, the hard drive failed "end to end error" so I replaced it with another laptop drive. When I upgraded to 10 from 8.1 the touchpad did work. I know the touchpad isn't broken or disabled because it works fine on my linux install.

Have you tried to press Fn+F7 key? on device manager, click on View tab, select Show hidden devices and check again about touchpad. i would also check about ribbons connections on your latop, since you or someone changed the HDD and maybe forgot or wrongly connected something.

OK ive posted about this a couple times but that was when i didnt have a clear picture of the problem. Last week my computer was fine, i use it for gaming so i have it plugged in while playing and disconnected while not using it, sometimes i just need to use the browser so i dont plug  it in. Just a couple days ago i noticed my computer making beeping sounds whenever i started playing a game, didnt think of it as much of a problem. A couple days after i notice its doing it more often while i play, keyboard backlight keeps going on and off and the screen dimiming and getting bright following the same pattern as the beeping. I start doing some research and nothing, i unplug all devices and still. I unplug the charging cable and it does the beeping and it ends there. Now i know the beeping has to do with the charging turning on and off for some reason. The next day i am just browsing and the beeping starts happening when im just using chrome. This became a problem since my laptop was bassically not charging while im using it, so i decided to check if it charges while off or in sleep mode. Which it does, this makes me think the computer decides to stop charging and charge whenever the hell it wants because of some problems while anything is running while the computer is on. Since my computer is out of warranty i tried to get assistance from AnswersByAcer, the guy helping me decides to ask for remote connection which i let him, and he calls me to assist me... The Acer Aspire Nitro Black VN7-791G is advertised to have Displayport output, but a Displayport cable certainly does not fit into any of its sockets. I read that the Displayport output comes through the USB Type C socket, but still the cable does not fit. What's the solution?

A:Acer Aspire Nitro Black VN7-791G Displayport

you need an USB-C 3.1 to displayport adapter:http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=usb-c+displayport

Hi! I recently noticed some performance issues(lower fps) when playing semi-demanding games like CS:GO and Overwatch, even though using pretty much the lowest settings. I proceeded to download CPUID(software to monitor to your hardware) to check my temperatures and noticed that I reach low-to-high 90's(depending on game) when I play.I figured it could be dust or something inside so I removed the keyboard-part of the laptop and used some canned air to remove all the dust I could reach (without removing the motherboard). I also managed to get hold of a laptop cooling stand. The problem is that none of these efforts really solved the issue. Just a slightly lower temperature on the GPU and pretty much the same on the CPUs. I'm starting to wonder if it could be the thermal paste that have to be replaced? I've had the computer for a little over a year now. Anyone else experiencing similar issues? Help or tips would be appriecated!

I have a VN7-592G and I find this weird to see you have problems running something like CS:GO. I would consider overwatch to be more demanding than CS:GO.How old is your laptop? Did you try closing background applications and reducing graphic settings? Did it solve the problem? The temperature will get high while gaming which is why its recommended the vents are not blocked. As you have taken care of the vents cleaning, let me know what changing the settings does to the performance.

I must admit that I have little hope for the quick and perfect solution, but I will give it a try. I just bought an Acer Aspire V Nitro Black Edition VN7-792G with Windows 10 and an external monitor for it, a Samsung LS32D850, and connected both with the HDMI cable that came with the monitor. It worked extremely well. However, when the laptop switches off the monitor for any reason, like a reboot or an energy saving setting, then the monitor stays black. I have tried many things, but the only ones that work seem to be these: Unplugging and re-plugging the HDMI cable. This works every time.Switching off the monitor for a long time, at least several minutes, then switching it on again.Even disconnecting the monitor's power cord for a minute is not enough to make the laptop send an HDMI signal to the monitor. All other attempts to wake up the monitor yield only spotty or no results, like switching the monitor configuration in Windows (Windows key + P or the equivalent Fn + F5). I can always activate the laptop's built-in display that way, but not the external monitor. I also tried changing the monitor input from HDMI to Auto and back, and various other actions, to no avail. I checked the Windows Intel video driver, which turned out to be up to date. I changed to another HDMI cable?same problem. I have not yet tried to switch to the NVidia graphics adapter, because I'm not sure how to do that. If I could wake up the monitor that way, I co... Read more

Have you tried to connect your laptop to another monitor or TV?just to be 100% sure it's a laptop issue. i'm not 100% sure but if i remember correctly display port is managed by nvidia card, HDMI is managed by Intel until your run a compatible 3D software (games or programs) that switch to nvidia card.

My Uncle bought an Acer Aspire V15 Nitro Black Edition VN7-591G-792U. He sent it to me in the Philippines. It is brand new, I got it from March. Windows 10 was installed and was updating like normal. I used it for about only 2 months before like a few days ago where it turned off by itself and now it won't turn on. I started up the laptop, everything was normal and I opened up Google Chrome. I was browsing Facebook and it turned off by itself, there's no lights on the side even if it was plugged in. I tried disconnecting and connecting the battery, holding the power button, holding the battery reset button, holding them both, and it does nothing. Anyone has a solution for this? Sometime this month, we will be going to the US amd my uncle will probably have to replace or fix it since he still has warranty. Thanks!

I know this has been asked before but the answers given have not worked.1.  Edit the registery.2.  Disable fast startup.I have an Acer Aspire V17 Nitro Black (VN7-791G) with Windows 8.1.  I want Num Lock on always.  When I boot the machine in the morning it is off.  When I wake the machine after a period of inactivity it is off.  I have edited the registry under the keyboard settings per other replys in these forums with no change.  I have disabled fast startup per replys in these forums again with no change.  I contacted Microsux because I think it is a windows issue but they said to contact Acer.  Acer chat is of no use they want you to pay them to modify the registry.  So here I and I believe others are stuck with a machine that does its own thing.

A:Acer Aspire V17 Nitro Black Number Lock

the registry editing was with this values?HKEY_USERS\Default\Control Panel\Keyboard\InitialKeyboardIndicators value was "2147483648" change value to 2147483650

This just started happening 2 days ago.  I had left the laptop on for a good month (mostly idle) while I was gone for remote access.  I came back, powered it off. Powered on, just a black/blank screen and lit keyboard.  No sounds.   Any suggestions?  I tried power off and then power on with no plugged items for 30 seconds (from google search tip).

Hi, I bought my Aspire V 15 Nitro Black Edition 6 month ago. Today my touchpad stopped working. The cursor disappeared, and no click or touch gestures on the touchpad would work. I tried reboot, still not working. Then I tried re-installing the drivers from the Acer Support website (TouchPad_Synaptics_18.1.22.2_W81x64) and rebooted.Still not working and now the touchpad is gone from the Windows device manager. At least USB mouse is working, but I'm working a lot with the touchpad so I really don't want to live without it. Any ideas how this can be fixed? Thanks a lot!
