I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.
I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.
You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)
Hi everyone, This is my first post here. I've got a 17.3 inc Lenovo Y700 and I really love my laptop. However, I think there is a backlight problem with my laptop but I'm not sure if its normal or not. I've added a picture of my laptop and will be glad if you could tell me it is acceptable or not for a laptop which has FHD screen. http://i66.tinypic.com/9qk5f4.jpg There are only 70 days till my warranty expired, so I have to be quick to send it to the service if there is an issue. Many thanks in advance.MehmetRead other answers
Hello, this is my first post here! I just bought a Lenovo Y700 today, and I'm very impressed with it so far. However there's just one thing bothering me: backlight bleeding. I've never owned anything with an IPS display before, so I'm not sure if this is normal or not. Could you please tell me if this is acceptable or not? Does it get worse with time or stay the same? I read that it's normal for IPS displays to an extent. Is that true? Here are some pics: http://imgur.com/a/rAHFvThe one on the bottom worries me a bit. Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the Community Forums,
I was not able to open http://imgur.com/a/rAHFvSeems your issue might be similar to this thread . Check on the image provded .On the sample image glow seems to appear on different angles too.

"IPS glow should only be apparent at extreme viewing angles in very dark images or black screens. If it is visible from head on and always in the same spots, it's not IPS glow, it's backlight bleed " .
In normal IPS display, such glow usually is mimimal and be lesser than an inch.
Else call in tech support for repair especially if return is not an option.
Hope this helped you in your decision.
Hello, everyone! I just received my new Lenovo Y700, and overall, I love it!But there is a thing that's bugging me: backlight bleed/ips glare. While working on the laptop, or even watching movies (watched Star Trek Beyond), it doesn't seem to bother me, I don't really notice it. But if if there is a full black screen and i stare at it, yeah. I can see the darn bleed. Is this much bleed normal? Should I return it and get another one (hopefully I will be more lucky)? Or do ALL of the IPS panels out there have such issues, and i better stick with this one? I am attaching screenshots taken in full darkness, at 100% brightness. (N.B., in reality it doesn't look SO bad as on camera, idk why; also, if i set it to 75% brightness its A LOT less visible). One more thing: Can any of you that have this model attach some pictures under the same conditions, so I can at least compare? Thanks a million!Read other answers

Hello, I have a friend here who has a Lenovo Y700 and it has been giving an issue lately that he has made rather obvious constantly cursing and saying how much he hates his laptop so I decided I was going to come here and ask y'all for some help or advice. The issue he is having is with his keyboard. The only example I have of this issue is when we play Garry's Mod. The popular steam game. He can play for a while. We have a good time messing around with stuff. Then his keyboard stops working. All he can do is look around and when he tries walking, he walks in one direction and can't stop it. The only solution he has is temporary. He just shuts down his laptop then turns it back on, then the same issue occurs between 10 minutes to an hour or 2.We have factory reset it once and it worked for a little while but then the same issue came back and he is getting really annoyed by it. If any of you have a solution to this very problem or a solution to a problem similar to this, it would be much appreciated. Thank you.Read other answers

Hello, My laptop configuration:OS: Windows 10 64 bits (up-to-date)Model : Lenovo Ideapad Y700 15ISK (80NV)BIOS : CDCN37WW Five days ago the keyboard suddenly stopped to respond (nb : the Num Lock led remained on). I tried to restart Windows but since it could not (stucked on the reboot screen) I pressed the power button and heard a "clack" sound. When I restarted the computer the hard drive made some noices and the fans started to turn at high speed for ~3 seconds.NB : I upgraded to bios CDCN35WW few days before. After the incident I updated to CDCN37WW. Today the problem happened again (keyboard not responding). Before trying to reboot I unpluged and pluged back my mouse (Lenovo gaming mouse). As I expected, it did not function once I pluged it back. I tried to log out before rebooting. At that time Windows crashed and I saw the BSOD for 1 second before the computer shut down and reboot showing the Novo Button Menu (the keyboard was still not responding at this time).I rebooted by pressing the power button, once again some worrysome electrical noices while I was doing so.The computer restarted and once again noices from the hard drive + fans at full speed. Any suggestion ? Are BIOS updates bugged ?Thanks in advance for any help.Read other answers

Hello, On occasion, the keyboard of my Lenovo Y700 will cease accepting input. It however is still being fed power due to the persistence of the backlight and lights of the Num Lock and Caps Lock keys. I can still navigate with my mousepad. Some time after the keyboard locks out, the computer will slowly crash, e.g. my applications begin displaying the "Not Responding" dialog, and eventually the computer boots to a Lenovo Safe Mode screen where my keyboard still cannot receive input. I then shut the computer off using the power button (which makes a strange popping noise coming from inside the computer) and reboot. The computer then works fine. And then the same error happens over and over again. I dealt with it for a little bit since it would happen only once a day or so. But the rate of lockout-crashing has been increasing. My drivers are all up to date. I'm at a loss. This is incredibly frustrating, especially considering the error happens at unpredictable times.Thank you for reading, neitorfuModel Name: Y700-15ISK Laptop (ideapad) Serial #: PF0I44L4 Machine Type: 80NV0026USRead other answers

Hi everyone, I bought this laptop about 3 months ago and I'm loving it so far. But every so often the keyboard would just stop working and when I try shutting it off, it would go through the entire shutting off process and the screen goes black but all the lights and fan would still be on. I am then forced to hold the power button down to force it off. When I restart the computer instead, it would take me to the blue screen where it would say "Windows has ran into an unexpected error" then the screen would turn black again and everything else would be on. Anyone have any idea or solution to what's going on? Thanks in advnace!Read other answers
A few weeks ago I bought a Lenovo Y700 15ISK with Windows 10 already preinstalled. I've noticed two main problems: the keyboard sometimes stops responding (this happens mainly when I am gaming, it happened firstly with Fallout 3 and then with Overwatch). When it happens I can't do anything but force shutting down the machine. It had been happening for a week or so, now it's been a while since it last occured. Second one, is that I keep on getting random BSODs while doing not much intensive activities. It's been happening once a day for two weeks now, and it's getting annoying. One thing that I can note, is that it's always happening while I'm surfing the web (Facebook, Youtube, etc). It has been preannunced once or twice by the screen blinking black for less than a second. The error message last time was "system_service_exception, igdkmd64.sys".If you need more information, just tell me.Thank you in advance.Read other answers

Hi there, Polly -
Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today
Yes! It seems difficult to adjust brightness through key, however, there is a solution for that.
For Leveno Laptop G50
Click control Panel , click hardware and sound, then click power option, and then adjust screen brightness on the bottom, then restart the computer, after then try to adjust brightness through key...It will work out try it.

Hello. Recently I have bought SSD M.2 disk (so far using only HDD). I installed win 7 64bit on it, updated BIOS from v52 to v53 (using .exe from Y700 support page). That's where the problem starts. As soon as the BIOS logo shows up, the fan starts to run quite loud. If I enter BIOS settings, it just keeps going and won't stop, which wasn't happening on previous BIOS version. I even tried installing previous version v35, then go back again to 53. Also restoring default settngs. Nothing worked. If I start system normally, after loading everything and 1-2 minutes of waiting fan goes queit, as it should be. But when I start e.g. browsing internet fan goes loud again. I checked temperatures - cpu, gpu and disks are all below 40 C degree, CPU usage is also low (10-15%), so I can't find a reason fans would be so loud.I also have installed (reinstalled too) Lenovo Energy Management. What I have noticed, is that when fan is running, if I open LEM, and then close it, fan stops for a second the very same moment I close it, and then start running again. Also, changing active/passive cooling CPU doesn't have any effect. To sum up:- fan is running non-stop in BIOS ( I don't think it's normal)- if I don't do anything, fan is quiet, but doing even simple thing like internet browsing makes it run loud. I have read many topics about fan problems but nothing is working for me so far. Edit:Also, from what I have read, there is no possibility to manually control fan/set temperature t... Hi,So for about 2-3 weeks I've got some battery problem with my Lenovo Y700-17. It seems like it came from nowhere. I think it started after the BIOS update to cdcn53ww. Before this time, my battery last for about 6-7 hours on Power Saving Mode, but now it's poorly 2 hours. What's more, there's no difference between High Performance- and Power Saving Mode's battery lifetime. Even if laptop works on battery, the fans are very loud ( similar to plugged-in High Performance fans sound). Before, laptop was silent unplugged (no matter High Performance/Balanced/Power Saving Mode). I tried everything, service sent back laptop with opinion "Everything looks fine". Hope you will help me, I need long-life battery for work.Read other answers

Hi, I recently bought a Lenovo Y700-15ISK. I'm really satisfied with the product, until I started bringing it to school. Since the laptop is pretty heavy itself, I assume that it probably takes a lot of heat/pressure while walking around on campus. I bought this laptop at the end of March 2016 (still under 1-year warranty), and I didn't see this defect until school started in August. I noticed that the screen started developing yellow-ish tinted spots near the edges of the screen. So I did some research on the internet and found out that its a form of LED damage caused either by heat or pressure. The spots don't appear in the beginning of each usage but comes back once the laptop starts heating up. Whenever I massage the area, the spots seem to fade but only for a short amount of time. The yellow spots are particularly very noticeable in a black and white image as the yellow tint is the only source of color. I stopped bringing my laptop to school hoping the stains would go away to no avail. Questions: Is this a valid reason for me to use my warranty and return the product? If so... I bought this laptop brand new off Amazon. Would Lenovo's 1-year warranty still hold? How would the process work? (where to send, who to contact) If you've had this problem and know how to solve it feel free to tell me! Thanks
