GeForce GTS 240 issue or gaming server issue?

Q: GeForce GTS 240 issue or gaming server issue?

I'm new to the forum but have a problem that I want make the right decision on. I play Aces High II which is a flight simulation game. It may not be as hard core as Battlefield 3 but they do keep upgrading to high res graphics. My computer is a prebuilt Dell Studio XPS 8000. Intel i7 core 860 processor @ 2.8GHz. Graphics card a Nvidia geforce GTS 240. 8 Mb memory, Windows 7 home premium os. Now that said I am experiencing stutter sometimes while i'm playing. My fps go from 60 which is where it should be to 10 or less. I,m not sure if this is the game card or a lousy connection to the game server as we do get discoed sometimes. The computer is a year and a half old and don't remember experiencing this before that much. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm not against getting a new card and probably need new power supply.

Preferred Solution: GeForce GTS 240 issue or gaming server issue?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Good day to you:

In the last few weeks the house hold has been losing wireless connections while wired connections stay up and running.

I suspect its my nephew who insists on leaving the router open as in no security - no mac filtering - no wep - wpsk etc. since he allows gamers to access his computer used as a server. Of course nephew is connected to via wired ethernet and we are all wireless. We all seem to lose connections at the same time. I suspect the routers limited RAM and hard mem firmware control flags dont allow for collisions and exceed-bandwidth usage from incoming gaming. I also suspect the open access to wireless connection doesnt have anything to do with it either since the dhcp client table never shows any unknown wireless connections.

I have been looking through the event viewer to find clues of which one is : wpad.hsd1.co.comcast.net listed as the DNS in a warning under a DNS Client Event 1014. I found a paper written several years ago concerning DNS manipulation and wpad.xxxanthything generally means an undefined DNS. if you ipconfig/all you can see the dns is correct except for the wpad portion. wpad is never there in that particular way of looking at the DNS. it only shows in the event viewer.

There are 5 affected computers when this happens except nephews two towers.

My first question is can the use of Torrent clients cause this sort of thing. or is it more likely traffic from gaming kicking us off. Ive seen some of his configs in the router and he... Read more

Greetings All,

I posted this over at both the MSI and TomsHardware forums as I think it's a hardware issue but I want to make sure it's not a Windows 7 issue so I'm going to post it here in case anyone has some thoughts or ran into a similar issue in the past.

I've run into an issue on a new build that I can't nail down and need your advice on my next steps so I'll try to give you all the information I have and what I tried. This is a NEW build that was built about 3 weeks ago. Everything ran fine until today when it all went wrong after a game lockup.

Everything worked fine today when I booted up so I decided to play Witcher 3 which I've been playing with no issues (with the exception of a freeze for a second or two in big cities when the CPU hit's 100%) but those are few. Anyway at the main menu screen (not playing yet) today it locked up for the first time. Had to use reset button as CNT-ALT-DLT didn't work and on reboot the problem appeared.

No matter what I do I can't get GTX 960 out of 800X600 resolution safe mode or resolve it's conflict.

Description of how it Boots Events:

1. Starting the PC (powering on) this is what happens between devices.
2. The GPU lights up and monitor is Blue (active)
3. Four seconds later GPU lights OFF, VGA on motherboard turns RED and Monitor goes AMBER (no signal)
4. Six seconds later GPU lights ON, RED VGA light goes OFF and Monitor goes Blue (active)

At this point it loads the bios screen at 80... Read more

A:MSI Z170a Gaming 3 or GTX 960 GAMING 100ME Issue?

7-31-2016 Update

Well no one replied yet to my post but I did some more testing and the result is as follows.

I did some more troubleshooting and cleared the CMOS, swapped monitors, tried another HDMI cable and reinstalled the 960 into the new build for testing but it still did not solve the issue. Still locked at 800X600 with error code 43 (Windows disable the device because of problems) in device manager and I'm concerned about how the card itself boots and lights the RED VGA led on the MSI board. I retested it in that PC that has the 600watt PSU and an Asrock board and while it did work at a higher resolution the card behaves suspiciously during powerup as.

1. Power on All Fans and MSI logo light up.... Monitor is Blue (active)
2. 5 seconds later MSI logo goes off... fans still spinning.....Monitor is Amber (No Signal)
3. 15 seconds later MSI logo comes on......Monitor goes Blue (active)
4. Once Windows loads fans stop spinning. (Normal)

**Note** This is similar to the way it boots in the problem system (no RED led on Asrock board)

So 20 seconds total to initiate a stable signal to me is problematic and this is on the test PC not the one I built BUT I still can't rule out a problem with this MSI motherboard as that RED VGA led still comes on for a few seconds when the GTS 450 is in there (even though it works fine) and I can't find an answer to if that's normal. Sent a "support" request to MSI and their reply was "Try the card in another sy... Read more

Hello, on my notebook, when I run games the geforce 820M is not always recognized. For example, on a 2011 game (Dark Age of Camelot) instead of the Geforce it's recognized only the Intel Graphics, and probably because of this I get frequent game crashes, with an error message like "access to graphic hardware has been blocked". I have already reinstalled an updated driver for my geforce but without any result. Any possible solutions? Thanks in advance.

First off, here are the relevant specs:
AMD 64 x2 3800+ Dual Core
1Gb of RAM
nVidia BFG GeForce 7900 256mb GT OC video card
OS: Windows Home SP2

This issue has arisen recently while playing Counterstrike. I'll be playing and then the game will stutter for a second and then resume. This happens about every 10 minutes or so and becomes very annoying. I've tried updating drivers and nothing works. After updating to the newest forceware, it seems a new problem has come up wherein my internet connection will just cut out and will not be able to be repaired unless I reboot. I'm connected wirelessly by the way. Does anyone know of a way to fix this or at least a way to figure out exactly what is going on? Help would be appreciated, thanks.

Hi, I recently upgraded my motherboard, RAM and cpu and performed a clean install of Windows 7 professional x64. However to do this, since my disk drive broke on me, I plugged my hard drive into my brothers computer and installed from there. I also plugged in my graphics card, Geforce GT220, and installed the drivers from the CD which are quite old now. With my brothers motherboard and display there were no issues and everything worked fine. However when I plugged everything into my motherboard and booted up windows explorer.exe crashed instantly. It repeatedly did this after every reboot.

I tried booting up in safe mode, which worked fine, and from there removed the nvidia drivers. These drivers proved to be the issue as the boot worked fine afterwards. I should add that my brothers motherboard is the same as mine, only his supports USB 3.0.

So my question is, what should I do to fix the issue?

Edit: I also get Blue screen BAD_POOL_HEADER sometimes. I have updated the BIOS, next step chipset drivers.

My specs are:

Asus M4A88T-M 880G
DDR3 corsair 2x2GB
Inno 3D geforce gt220

When you installed on the other PC windows 7 loaded the drivers for that hardware. Now that you have moved the hard drive to another PC its trying to load drivers for hardware that isn't there. Not a good thing. I'd start over and borrow an optical drive to replace your broken one or install from a USB thumb drive.

I recently got two games installed on my comp. City of Heroes and Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines. I couldn't play CoH at first, so I had to update the driver, after which, the game worked fine. Thats when problems started for the VTM:B game!! The graphics on the characters looked horrible! I tried rolling back to the previous driver, and VTM:B looked great, but then I again wasn't able to play CoH.

When the driver is installed, I get an error when trying to launch CoH that says

"you card or driver doesn't support GL_EXT_compiled_vertex_array"

"you card or driver doesn't support GL_ARB_multitexture"

The driver that I updated to was I believe. When that driver is installed, CoH works fine, but it left me with very poor graphics on VTM:B. Rolling back to the previous driver brought the graphics back up in great detail, but leaves me unable to launch CoH.

I seriously don't think I should have to update and rollback between drivers to play two seperate games on my comp, but I honestly don't know what to do to solve this problem.

Hello everyone,

I just installed the Geforce GTX 275, but am having issues getting the picture to come up correctly. I am connecting it to a Sony Projection Television. Let me start by saying I previously had this set up and working on a Geforce 8800 GTS, using an S video cable.

Now with only 2 DVI-I output, I decided to purchase a DVI to Component adapter. Plugged everything in, but all I am getting is crazy pictures. The screen flashes, words fly around, and when I get to the login screen, it's like there are 3 of them.

Any ideas on how I can solve this? Maybe a synchronization issue? If so how do you fix that?

Thanks in advance for your help,

Is it a way to combine this two working and not working drivers? Like modded INFs?

Hello all,

I'm hoping to get some sort of answer to the issues I'm currently facing with my new graphics card. Basically I previously had installed an AMD HD 4850, now the strange thing is... before I replaced it with my new GT 520, my Windows experience index rating for Graphics (Desktop performance for windows Aero) was roughly above 6.

After uninstalling all my ATI drivers and replacing it with the GeForce, I installed the latest drivers and ran the rating again, and my graphics rating dropped to 4.2..... nothing else dropped it was just the graphics. But correct me if i'm wrong, shouldnt the GT 520 be way better than an old AMD 4850?

What's also bizarre is that when i run certain games and they give me the option to optimize graphics based on whatever card you have installed. It sets the graphics as high which the AMD did not, and when i actually go into the game its just pure glitch fest, like its running at 5 FPS which even the AMD did not do at high settings.

Can anyone suggest what the problem may be? Links below to specs of both graphics cards.

A:Performance issue with GeForce GT 520?

glassarcher welcome to the Seven Forums.

But correct me if i'm wrong, shouldnt the GT 520 be way better than an old AMD 4850?

Sorry to say but you went from what was a medium-high end card (a little more high than medium), to a low end entry level card. Not even on a good day is the GT 520 a better card than the HD 4850, that is why your WEI score went down and also why you are having issues running games at high settings. You went from a card that depending on the game can run it at high settings without breaking a sweat, to one that would struggle with the same game on medium settings (and quite possibly low settings).

Only solution is if you still have it is to go back to your HD 4850 and return the GT 520, or look for something higher up the video card food chain.

The Geforce Go 6800 in my Dell Inspiron 9300 is dying. If I try to run the regular XP mode I get a screen full of garbage. The Dell diagnostic reports multiple memory errors. Dell wants $400.00 for a replacement which is ludicrous to say the least. I am able to run the laptop in Safe Mode, and can get up to 1024 X 768 resolution. Of course being in Safe Mode means no audio, jerky video. and a lot of programs and games will not work at all. I know I can get VGA.sys to drive the card in regular mode by using /BASEVIDEO in the Boot.ini file, but if I try to change the resolution out of 640 X 480 or to anything higher than 8 bit resolution, the garbage comes back. There has to be a service or driver running that is causing the garbage to show up in regular mode. Does anyone have any idea what I can do to ensure my ability to get VGA.sys to allow me 1024 X 768 in Regular Mode without all of the garbage on screen? Thanks in advance for any assistance.

You will be able to replace the graphics card on that. It is a separate unit.
Get the service manual from http://support.euro.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/ins9300/en/index.htm

See http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Dell-9300-ins...t=UK_Computing_Laptops_EH&hash=item4aa5bd08d0 for one on eBay uk. There are 6800 cards for the 9300 for ~=80. Even less in the States.

Hello everyone,

First time poster, having an issue I couldn't solve through your search function or google.

I have a XFX GeForce 9600 GSO 768mb PCI-E card. I have had it for 3 months now, running great on my machine. I have an Ultra 500 watt PSU.

Today while browsing the web my computer shut down as if I pulled the cord out of the wall, I was unsure of the problems and after 4 hours of physical inspection and trying everything possible I have come to the conclusion that the video card mentioned is the problem.

System will not even power on if the card is connected to the PSU through the 6 pin connector. I've replaced the PSU, replaced my Power Button (thought these were the problems first) and nothing is responding with my graphics card plugged into the PSU.

The computer runs fine with Onboard video on and I don't have another video card to test the slot. Kinda on a low low budget atm too.

Things only 3 months old and was running like a champ, so I am confused. Any help on this would be great!

Thank you,

I have Windows XP Professions
AM2 2.61 Dual Core / 2 GB memory (checked and they are running fine)

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Reiterating the PSU has been checked and does work.

A:Geforce 9600 GSO PSU issue

From your description and diagnostics it certainly does sound like a defective video card.

One caution here, your onboard video requires a lot less power than the 9600GT. So the PSU powering the system with onboard graphics, doesn't necessarily guaranty it will still power it with the card installed.

BTW, the brand of your PSU doesn't really ring a bell, it might not actually meet spec. Although there's no telling whether it doesn't meet spec enough to cause problems with a 9600GT, which should run easily on a decent 400 watt PSU.

I guess the best thing to do is try to find a video card to test in the slot. That would eliminate the PCI-E controller as a possibility. It seems prudent making the extra effort to take this step. Your video card is well within warranty, but what would happen if you sent back a good one? Best guess/worse case, it gets sent right back, and you get hit up for the shipping both ways.

I'm sorry for saying this but "ugly" motherboard with "uglier" chipset (SIS).
Have you update the chipset drivers when you did the clean install? Nice ram, video card and cpu...had you done the Windows Updates first, especially directx before doing SP2.
You do know that SP2 can be a bear with any spyware and virus onbaord when you install it but since clean install I let it go at that. Also how about downloading and installing newest nvidia driver for card???

I am having an issue with offline files created offline syncing back to the server. I have set up a network share to be available offline on a client computer. All files are available offline without issue. Here is the issue however. If I set the folder to work offline any file I create in the folder when it is offline just disappears when the folder comes back online, there are no conflicts or sync failures reported in sync center. If I create a new folder offline the folder does sync back to the server. Any changes made to an existing file are also replicated back to the server once the share is back online. So the issue is only with newly created files when the share is offline. I have not been able to replicate this error on any other file server in our environment, However I have recreated the issue with multiple shares with multiple Win 7 clients on this file server.

Steps taken so far.

Checked and reset permission levels on the share.
Recreated new shares from scratch for testing.
Disabled and enabled offline files on the client computer and cleared the offline cache.
Check various registry entry settings.
Disabled cashing on the File server.
Tested with XP the issue does not exist with XP.

I have spent hours researching this error online to no avail.

The clients are running Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit
The File server is Server 2003 Standard 32 bit with SP2

Any help or ideas would be most welcome.

We run a web proxy server on our network for internet access.
On client machines (running Windows 2012 R2) I have configured the proxy server setting in Internet Explorer "Tools\Internet Settings\Connections\LAN Settings" to point at the designated web proxy server.
When attempting to browse websites from IE I receive the "The proxy server isn't responding" error.
Conversely, browsing the same sites via Google Chrome and Firefox (installed on the same client server) return web pages without error.
In addition, if I run Internet Explorer as administrator (Right Click\Run as Administrator), I am able to browse web sites without receiving the error.
It would appear that the issue is isolated to browsing via IE when not run in elevated mode.
Has anyone come across this issue?

Hi Dicki,
First, please try to reset the Internet Explorer. Some plug-ins may affect the proxy.
If it doesn't work, please try to perform a network capture on the client.
Please check if the client send the http traffic to the proxy server at the correct port.
If the client has sent the http traffic to the proxy server, please check if there is any warning or error in the proxy server.

Today, I experienced an issue with what seems to be my GPU's drivers.

It occured out of the blue, with no manual software or hardware changes or updates.
I suppose automatic software updates could have occured though.

Whenever I launch a graphics-intensive game, I get about a half a minute of game time,
before it gets messed up. I get wierd textures superimposed all over the screen, either
arbitrary mess like in the attached screenshot, or partly transparent textures from a
completely different part of the game. In the background though, the game will run normally, so any movements still occur and I hear the sound effects.

Mostly I must exit the game with the Task Manager, but sometimes I get an error message.

It says the graphic card drivers are not responding, and that my nv4_disp screen driver is
not functioning properly.

It seems I can run DVDs just fine, browse the net, or do pretty much anything else without
any issues. It also seems that the temperature in the GPU is about normal, even when playing.

I tried to uninstall the drivers, clean the disk with Driver Sweeper, and then re-install
the latest drivers with Anti-Virus disabled, but I get the same result.

Any suggestions as to what is wrong? Any help is greatly appreciated!

My system:

- Windows XP Pro 32 Bit
- AMD Athlon 64 4000+
- NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT

Ok, got a brand new eVGA 128mb GeForce 6600GT card from Newegg yesterday. I stayed up until 2AM working on this thing and could not get it to work.

What happens:

I've got the latest drivers from nVidia installed. I take out my existing 5700LE, plug in the 6600GT, making sure to plug in a power dongle to the card (as is recommended). When I fire up my computer, the video will have severe issues....the BIOS boot text shows up skewed, some of the letters are randomly replaced by numbers and gray streaks. XP will start to boot, but there will be vertical blue lines on the black loading screen. As soon as it boots into windows, boom.....BSoD. I've tried this on 2 different systems:

System #1:
Biostar M7VIP mobo
VIA KT333 chipset
1 gig Kingston DDR2100
AMD Athlon XP1800+ Thorougbred @ stock speeds
80 gig Maxtor IDE HD, 7200 RPM
350w PSU/500w PSU swapped in
Windows XP Pro w/ SP1

System #2:
Biostar M7NCD-Ultra mobo
Nvidia nForce2 chipset

AMD Athlon XP2000+ Barton @ stock speeds
2x 80 gig Seagate IDE HD's 7200
350w PSU/500w PSU swapped in
Windows XP Pro w/ SP1

I've been beating myself up trying to figure out what's going on. I tried switching the PSU's between the systems with no luck, so I assume it's not either of my PSU's. The error is the same on both machines...the same BSoD.

Well I'm soon to be the proud owner of a:

Pentium 4 3.6ghz processor
Intel D915PBL Desktop Board
Gig Stick of DDR2
Athenatech a602bs.400W case
GeForce 7800 OC

Now what I ask of thee ladies and gentlemen is this...
I'm curious if the power consumption on this video card considering its asking for 12v @ 26A. In the installation it assumes that I'm going to use the split power connector to hook up the card and a hard drive, which I'm not planning on doing. If anyone can find more info on this case good luck.
Athenatech.us seems a little....lax.
What I'm really asking is, should I turn this sucker on and hope something happens; remove everything from the case and exchange it(don't know about that one); DIY/Professionally replace the power supply.

A:Geforce 7800 Power Issue?

Well, I just did some searching to get more info on your PSU, and came up dry. Found your case, including the makers homepage, but no details on the PSU.

If you are planning on running a 7800 card in there, you're going to want some good juice.

No name PSUs are a nightmare. Do a search on this forum, and you'll find all kinds of people with problems that are extremely hard to diagnose. A lot of them have roots in people doing cheap on their PSU.

Highly recommend taking out that PSU that comes with that case, and putting in something that'll properly power your system.

You should be looking for a minimum of 450 watts, and at least 26a on the 12v. My psu has dual 12v rails for a total of 32a. That's about what you need to look for.

Your PSU should be made by a company such as antec, enermax, fortron etc.

I have just purchased a new graphics card the BFG Tech Geforce 9800 GT 1 GT and when I placed the new card in my pc the screen is blank and even though the pc seems to start the usual beep is not heard?

Ok so I have just tested a new PSU which is 580 W and meets all the requirements but still the same issue. The PC does not boot and no beep from the BIOS is heard, I can see/hear the fans spinning on the card and if I take the new card out and put my old card in it works and also my onboard one does too.

I do not have the means to test this card in another PC

Any Ideas?

Hey, my name is Dazz. I am pretty new here and have just built a new PC, I have connected all the parts of the PC up correctly and seem to be having problems on startup. I hear the general kick into life startup but when I look at my monitor it is completely black, no startup screen. Doesnt even turn on, the light on the monitor is set to 'standby' straight away. I have no idea what the problem is at all.

Any ideas what it might be?

The real question I have is why you are pairing a GTX 690 with a Phenom X6 and 4GB of RAM!

Jokes aside, does the GPU fan spin when you startup the PC? Is it properly seated on the PCIe port? Is there a power connection to the GPU?

83 Celsius is way too high temperature
The computer is probably forcing the game to close to avoid overheating.

Also I suggest for you to reinstall the graphics drivers.

I recently got an Inno 3D Geforce 8500 GT 512MB card. I removed my old ATi X600 using the clean install method, installed the 8500 GT under safe mode and rebooted. All seems to be well. Just recently there have been five bars of what I can only describe as static dropping down from the top of the screen. You don't always notice them, but when I play back video or there is some light colour being used on the whole screen there they are. Have rolled back the drivers to several previous versions but this doesn't seem to help. The 3D capability is unaffected and everything seems to run as it should but, those static bars are always there. Does this mean the card is a dud, or can it be fixed in some relativly simple way?

I have a few thought on this but not a fault I have seen before.

First I would remove all cards and mamory and clean the contacts with a soft rubber (up and down the contacts not from end to end) then refit them all, see if there is an improvement.

Try another known good screen.

Try running with just one memory module installed then swap them around to test each one, you might find that one of the modules produces the fault.

If none of the above isolates the problem then it probably is the graphics card.

Hello, today I installed the geforce gtx 1050ti and did everything right, (well not quite right as I got an issue) I locked it in the pci express x16, but when I start the pc my monitor says "Please power down and connect the pcie power cable for this graphics card." and stays there. My PSU is "Force SL-8600EPS" 600w max. This is my first time installing any hardware and I knew I was gonna **** it up *sigh* I read somewhere that I don't need a 6 pin as it gets enough power from the motherboard (the VGA box didn't have anything else included except the card). The motherboard is "Asus B85M-E" and my CPU is Intel Core I5-4460. Please help me someone, I'm so desperate.

You may need to go into the BIOS setup and set it to boot with your pcie slot. If you have your motherboard manual it may be some help.
Look at disabling on-board graphic.

You can't get rid of DX10, but you can install DX9 from here
Download details: DirectX End-User Runtime

Your card is an entry level card for DX10, so it will work with DX10, but probably won't play too many of the newer games, if any. It is basically to give you access to the Vista Aero component.

Hey, I recently put together a PC and I've been having problems with it since. When I initially built it, the specs were:

i7 920 2.67GHz
Asus p6t Motherboard
8gb RAM
500gb Sata II HD
ATI Radeon HD 3870x2 (the card with with 2 GPU's)
500W unbranded PSU
1 added 120m coolermaster fan

Shortly after I started using my PC there was a power surge that knocked the power supply out. I recently got a new power supply. A 650W Silverstone PSU that I thought was more than enough for this. The problem that would occur now is that the computer would restart during games and sometimes while processing/rendering videos in adobe premiere.

When I would enable the 'crossfire' option on my card (to enable both GPU's to work) the computer would no longer just 'restart' the entire screen would hang or the colours would go out of sync shortly after which I'd have to restart the computer. This having happened I assumed the problem was with the graphics card, not the new 650W silverstone I got. I upgraded to a newer card; Asus Nvidia Geforce GTX460 768mb. The specs are now as follows:

i7 920 2.67GHz
Asus p6t Motherboard
8gb RAM
500gb Sata II HD
Asus Nvidia Geforce GTX460 768mb
650W silverstone PSU
1 added 120m coolermaster fan

After upgrading, games like modern warfare 2 will restart in missions that has a lot of smoke, during a standard windows assessment process the computer will also restart.

There is no overheating issue, the te... Read more

A:PC restart during graphic-intensive tasks. PSU issue? GPU issue? Mobo issue?

You've got Asus motherboard, hence the first thing I'll look at considering the issues you are having, is at RAM settings/voltage in the board's BIOS, these should be exactly the same as on RAM packaging, but even that doesn't guarantee that it may not be the issue, so basically you'll need to fiddle around a bit with settings/voltage in case default specs doesn't work.

You may also consider stress testing your graphic card using OCCT (including vRam). Regards

Hello, I am very new to this and to this point have had systems built by a reseller but this time decided to take on the effort myslf so please be kind. Here is the issue:
I have recently purchased three boards from Gigabyte (co. recommended by a friend) along with three MSI nVidia GeForce 4 Ti 4600 4X cards. I cannot find a voltage rating for the card (1.5 or 3.3?) on MSI's site. The specs on the board for the agp slot is as follows:
1 x AGP Universal slot (4X/2X-AGP 2.0 compliant)
From my research so far about agp factors V 2.0 has three modes- 1X, 2X, & 4X (data transfer speeds)
The connector types for 2.0 are 3.3 V keyed, 1.5 V keyed, & universal (supports both 1.5 & 3.3 V). So it leads me to believe that the above card will work with the system board. It get interesting however. The GeForce does not seem to fit into the connector. The end along the side that you put a screw in does not come up flush against the side, almost like you would have to put pressure on it (which I tried with no luck). I have tried all three cards with the same results. I can however take the cards to other pc's in the office and they fit just fine. I take the Geforce 2 cards from the office pc's (GA-7VTXH,1 x AGP 4X slot) and they go in fine into the new Gigabyte boards. Any ideas as to what might be the issue? I am not sure if it is a bad batch of cards or boards?

So my graphics card is GeForce 8600GT. And a while back for some stupid reason i was trying to get my xbox 360 to play through my screen, and i thought that i knew it all and plugged my xbox 360 while it was turned on into the svideo on my graphics card thinking it would play through the screen, now i know this was a dumb idea. The graphics card was working perfectly fine before I did this. Now theres just all types of pixelting/(green,white,pink) squares that kind of flash a little bit. And it always happens on games/movies. Also youtube used to work fine but I think they upgraded something or changed something on their videos so know when I watch youtube videos I get the same effect, just wondering is there anyway to diagnose or fix this, or should i just go and buy a new card?
P.S: I have also attatched an image from when I watch a .MP4 video, and the screen of Cod4 multiplayer:

Sometimes its a mix of colours like green pink and white.

Howdy all,
Here's the situation, I recently got a brand new PC... 4 gigs or ram duo core 3.0 on a asus mobo with a nvidia geforce 9800 GT. Whenever I am running a game called World of Warcraft after either anywhere for 15 minutes to an hour and a half my screen will freeze for an interval of 30s-2mins then return back with a semi garbeled screen. ( The colour of the 3d map around me will be multicoloured or white, all the text is garbeled etc..)
If I close the game and open it again everything is back to normal and working like its suppose to. Also I have several custom addons that I thought could have been the problem but I did a /reloadui after the temporary freeze to reload all my custom addons and the graphics are still garbeled.
From my research and what I've read I'm thinking that either my card is overheating, OR I don't have the right drivers OR the drivers are correct but have bugs with the game.

Anyone else with a similar problem?

Anyone with a good idea of where to start to solve it?

Any tips/suggestions/comments would be greatly appreciated,
Thank you,

Ok so this is driving me mad. I'm trying to get the audio to work on my GeForce card to my TV via HDMI (This is the only monitor that I own). I am currently at a loss. I have already contacted Nvidia Tech Suport (Transcript) with no luck. I also did both a general google search with no luck as well as a Google Search of this SevenForums, again with no luck. Below is a screen shot of the Playback tab of the Windows Sound settings and Nvidia Control Pannel . I would like to avoid contacting eMachine/Gateway customer support due to the fact that the last time I attempted to get support from them they wanted me to pay for "Premium Support" since this is an "archaic computer".

Thank you in advance,

A:Nvidia GeForce GT 610 HDMI Audio Issue

I can't find out whether this has the audio chip built on the video card or if this uses audio via an S/PDIF connection to the motherboard.

In any case, check the Device Manager and see what is listed under Sound.

I assume you have installed the latest NVIDIA driver. You can also try uninstalling the video card (but NOT the drivers) in the Device Manager then restart the PC and when Windows starts it will detect and reinstall it. If there is any Windows corruptions that will fix it. You can also try reseating the card (with the PC Powered off when you do that).

Hey Guys,

I've done quite a bit of searching about and while this seems to be a common problem I can't find a solution that works! Would appreciate any help that can be provided.

I did a clean install of Windows 7 Home Premium and it's not recognising my graphics card which is a built in NVIDIA Geforce 7400 on my Sony Vaio (VGN-SZ48GN). In its place is listed 'Generic Non-PnP Monitor on Standard VGA Graphics Adapter', which displays as 4:3 instead of widescreen. Very frustrating.

I have tried the following -

1) Getting the newest drivers from NVIDIA - Does not complete install as Windows fails to recognise this is the hardware I have.

2) Uninstalling the display adapter in 'Device Manager' - Reinstalls the same generic card on reboot

3) Using the old drivers in Windows.old - Already says I have the best drivers for my device.

Please help!!

The driver that I updated to was I believe. When that driver is installed, CoH works fine, but it left me with very poor graphics on VTM:B. Rolling back to the previous driver brought the graphics back up in great detail, but leaves me unable to launch CoH.

The driver I have to roll back to in order to play VTM:B is

I seriously don't think I should have to update and rollback between drivers to play two seperate games on my comp, but I honestly don't know what to do to solve this problem.
