Yoga 460 Type 20EL - Touchscreen does not work

Q: Yoga 460 Type 20EL - Touchscreen does not work

Hi,since a few weeks the touchscreen stopped working, when flipping the display down, to use the yoga as touchpad and flipping it back. After flipping it back, it didn't work anymore. I always needed to reboot to get the touchscreen working again. Therefore I installed all the updates and driverupdates that were available from the lenovo website. Now the touchscreen doesn't work anymore at all. What can I do to get the touch screen working again. My notebook is still very new, I bought it 1-2 month ago. And I really want the touchscreen to work. Thanks! PS: I use Windows 10 education version 64-Bit

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

It's supposed to work with keeping finger on item some time, then release after that (it will open menu or just right-click). That doesn't work. It spoils all of the touch screen mode experience. (Surfing Youtube, for example) How do I get it to work? Please note that some areas it works, some it doesn't (e.g., on this website and on Youtube and on Facebook, it doesn't). Please answer. EDIT: It is the Chrome browser. Any idea how I can fix that?

Hi everybody, I just purchased the Lenovo Yoga home 900 and cannot manage to turn on the touchscreen function. Is there even such a function to turn off/on or is it just my device that isn't working properly? I'm thankful for any advice and hope this will be fixable in a minute

I want to confirm you are talking about the 27" All-in-one PC.  There is no "off" button. It should always work.  Look in the device manager and see if there are any problem devices.

Hello dear friends, I have a problem with my device that I can not solve in any way. My touchscreen just stopped working! I tried all the solutions that were on the internet but unfortunately none of them worked.  Laptop - Lenovo Yoga 910, 4k touchscreen display. Bios is uptodate, windows is uptodate! I installed all lenovo updates through Lenovo Vintage. Solutions I tried:1. Removed, updated HID touchscreen driver. It is not identified as touchscreen but I assume the one with warning is the driver. See the attached Photo.2. Restart, shut down, hard shut down my laptop.3. I even reinstalled my windows to windows 10 pro. 4. For the final frontier - purchased  automatic driver update, installing software5. Ran lenovo diagnostics - no problems identified  None of them work! Problem persists!  I have 64 bit windows 10 pro. 16 GB ram, 1TB SSD (dont know, maybe this info is important). I have no clue how to solve this. FYI - I dont know why, but also my lenovo stopped reading USB 2.0 Flash drives and USB connected phones. It only works on USB 3.0 Flash drives. I tried flash drives that I am sure that work (tested on multiple devices). I can use USB 2.0 drives only through a USB C dongle. Maybe these 2 problems are somehow connected.

Hello I bought a Yoga X1 last year and it was working fine until about 3 weeks ago. For unknown reasons - possibly because of some Windows 10 update or because I installed a "nightly built" of the VLC video player the touchscreen stopped working. Windows 10 could not find a driver anymore (claiming that the driver it found is not suitable for this version of windows or womething like that). Same happened with the Lenovo driver for the device from the Lenovo website. I always hat the device marked yellow and "not working properly" in the device manager. I finally found in a forum aomeone pointing to a different driver for the Xoga X1's Wacom device and installed it. Now it shows up in the Device manager without Problems, but I still have no touch functionality. I deinstalled VLC alread and updated Win 10 again - still no luck. do I need some additional driver to connect the device that is recognized in the Device manager with Windows 10 somehow? Or activate it? I booted from a USB rescue stick for Win 10 and there the touch functionality was ok - so its not a hardware issue! Thank you.

Hi! So I have my yoga for more than 2 years now and about a year ago my usbc decided to stop identifying any HDMI connetions via usbc hubs (containing usb ports and ethernet ports). all other ports function fine and in device manager i can see that my laptop recognizes the hub (general usb hub and usb2 billboard exists). i tried 3 different hubs and all are the same, HDMI doesnt work, usb and ethernet connections work fine. I tried those hubs on different laptops (friend`s yoga 910 and sister`s yoga 720) and hubs work perfectly (including HDMI connection) so it`s my laptop specifically.  I tried windows recovery, removing and reinstalling updates, drivers, BIOS and recently a whole computer format but nothing really worked. i tried lenovo vintage and diagnostics tools to no availe.the usbc connection works, so i doubt i have a hardware problem here. does anyone have any idea what might help?

SOme info about the laptop. Product Name: Sleekbook HP Pavilion 14-f004lOperating System: Microsoft Windows 8 (64-bit) I've had this problem a couple times already. The touchscreen stops working sporadically and the only way to make it work again is installing the  AUO Touchscreen Firmware/ sp63116.exe driver from this site. however this last time I've run into quite the weird problem. The driver installer CLOSES INMEDIATELY BEFORE I CAN DO ANYTHING A couple months ago I posted this:http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/AUO-Touchscreen-Firmware-installer-doe... Since then due to time constrains and schoolwork, I did not attempt to restore the BIOS until today.Today I restored the BIOS, followed all procedures they gave me, and the installer for the Touchscreen firmware does the following: -Runs-Asks for permission-Install it-Finishes installing-Runs the program's window-Inmediately closes, I can't even click on anything because it flashes for a second and disappears. I've already restored the laptop to factory presets. The installer DOES THE SAME THINGRestored the BIOS. The installer DOES THE SAME THING So please, do not tell me to restore the laptop. I've done it already. Doesn't work. Same thing for the BIOS. Nothing. Can anyone help me? Thank you

So I've had this happen countless times. The touchscreen stops working. The laptop is in perfect conditions. The screen, not even a scratch. I format the laptop, it still doesn' work. So, I've always fixed it by installing the AUO Touchscreen Firmware/ sp63116.exe from:http://support.hp.com/mx-es/drivers/selfservice/hp-pavilion-14-f000-sleekbook/5375393/model/5403360#... My problem atm is that this time, that process isn't working. The installer opens, installs the thing, then the program opens and immediately closes. This prompts windows to ask me if the driver installed correctly or that if it should attempt to install under a compatibility mode. No matter which I choose, it still does the same thing. It won't stay open for more than 1 second.  I've restored my laptop to factory presets a couple times already and the touchscreen isn't working yet because the driver/program/wizard thingy refuses to stay open after it is done installing. Can anybody help me? Perhaps share a different version of the installer? Thank you.

I am a very frustrated and angry customer at the moment as i keep running into Road Block and unacceptable answers.  This issue is enough to cause me to never buy another Lenovo laptop or any laptop at Best Buy!I bought my computer in July and in September i noticed a key had popped off-  the "< ," key next to the M key.  I have used the key board only when i was setting up-  now at my office and at customers i set it in downward dog mode ;-) and use a blue tooth key board.    So it is not from use that it broke.   I took the laptop into BEST BUY and was told that the key was missing a metal part on the back so they could not fix it onsite-  i would have to send it in and be without my laptop for a week to 10 days - unacceptable -  this was a month or more ago. I searched on the LENOVO website and could not find a way to purchase a single or the entire set of Keys!  I am self employed as a software consultant.   My life is pretty busy and i finally decided today to bite the bullet and ask for a call from Lenovo support.  Again i am told the only way to fix this is to send my laptop in for a repair.  I asked to just be able to buy a KEY - i am told that well they do not sell individual keys - they would replace the entire keyboard!  So sell me the keyboard and or send me one an i will take into best buy to have them replace it while i wait.  They cannot do that.   I live... Alright guys, Windows update has been really messing with my pc lately. I ran update and when it installed the updates my integrated mouse ended up not working. I rolled back update and installed the updates one by one and the one I ended up not installing was the camera codec pack. Now the problem I am having is that my touchscreen won't work. If I talk to HP support they do the most basic thing they can and then when they can't fix it they tell me that I have to ship it to them because hardware is broken. (obviously not the case because uninstalling an update fixed my problem.) If you guys know what update is at fault or if you know how to diagnose the problem I would be grateful.

Thank you.

A:Mouse won't work now touchscreen won't work. Windows updat

There's no shortcut I know of. It's a matter of roll it back so the system works normally. Install the next update in the list. Test. Repeat.

Until you find the culprit.

It may be a good idea to write down the updates on a pad of paper as you install them. Over time it's easy to lose your place in the list. Especially with rebooting etc..

I previously upgraded my Yoga 260 (20FD) to Windows 10, from Windows 8.1, and found that the touchscreen did not work. There was nothing in the device manager to suspect that the HID-compliant touchscreen was having any issues with drivers, in fact it did not even exist in the device manager. I subsequently downgraded back to Windows 8.1. I am still unable to use the touch screen. I have tried installing the wacom touch drivers, updating the touchscreen firmware, and nothing has worked thus far. I do not have the touch screen disabled, etc. I have also tried installing X1 carbon touchscreen drivers as I had read on a few forum posts here that they use the same component. That also failed to solve the issue. Neither my finger or the stylus will work. I ran Lenovo system update and it did not find anything of relative value, as well as windows update (most current).  It was apparently working fine prior to upgrading to Windows 10. If anyone can recommend an idea or something to point me in the direction to resolve this it would be wonderful. I do have warranty service until July 2019. I've had a tech come out and replaced the system board back in February. The touchscreen had worked up until this point.

I received my Yoga 3 Pro just over a week ago and it has been great - I love it. This evening, in the middle of playing a game, the touschscreen went unresponsive. I did a restart and it worked for a few minutes then stopped again. Right now it is going back and forth between working and not working. I have gone through the forum post located here - https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-Edge-Yoga-Flex-Laptops/Yoga-touchscreen-not-working/td-p/902131 - and these methods DO NOT work as it is for a different model - so they do not apply.

The touchscreen detects my fingers - when you tap the screen you can see the bubble where you touched - also, on a webpage or in a menu, I can scroll using the touchscreen - but I cannot click/tap anything - I cannot move windows, nothing.

As this is a brand new and quite pricey ultrabook, I am looking for a simple solution.

Hi guys, I'm trying to replace my old cracked touchscreen for my X1 Yoga 1st gen - Lenovo parts lists two LCD assemblies in stock:  1) 14,WQHD,no-glare,TP,TPK+LGD #00UR192 for $687 2) 14,WQHD,no-glare,TP,LBO+LGD #01AY702 for $510 These are listed as substitutes for each other, but a $170 difference seems to imply something significant separates them. What's the difference between TPK+LGD and LBO+LGD, and does it have any effect on replacing a touchscreen-compatible assembly? I took apart my computer and the screen itself is part # 00HN879, if this helps for any reason.

I bought a Lenovo Yoga 13 almost a year ago and recently I upgraded to Windows 8.1 and I've been having touchscreen issues ever since. Everytime I restart or wake make computer back up from sleep/hibernation the screen has this white square on the screen, it looks like this: The mouse is stuck here, but I found some weird trick to get the mouse unstuck and make the box go away. I just touch the screen with my finger where the box is and move it back and forth a few times and the mouse becomes unstuck. However, it leaves 2 white circles on the screen that stays there forever. Here is a picture of those circles. This makes windows think I am touching the screen when I'm really not and therefore I can't click things anymore because if I actually touch the screen then it thinks it's a 2-finger touch which turns into a zoom.  I've looked around and seen that some Lenovo Twist user has this problem here and he/she seemed to fix it with touchscreen firmware updates. However, I cannot seem to find any such fixes for the Yoga 13 since there is no touchscreen firmware update on the drivers site. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix the problem? FYI, I'm not sure if you'll need it but here are my comp specs:

(Code 10)  A request for the HID descriptor failed." I have tried to reinstall the driver multiple times.  I've grabbed both the Lenovo and the Wacom versions of the driver with no success. I just got the machine today.  The touch screen did not work during the initial installation process, so I don't think the updates are what killed it (as reported elsewhere).  It's also not promising that things magically started to work again after some amount of time. I suppose I don't mind taking the laptop back, but it's otherwise such a nice little laptop (widespread issues with cheap display parts notwithstanding) that I'd really like to be able to hang on to it. Any assistance and / or updates on this problem would be appreciated!

Hello, i bought a Yoga 720 i5-7200U, 8GB ram. After Win10 installation and all updates the touchscreen stops working.I already reinstalled Win 10 two times.Maybe there are some problems with the HID drivers?  These drivers will be installed with every reboot or reinstallation of Win10. Thank for your help. Kova

So a couple months back, my touchscreen and pen stopped working.I suspect that it was a windows update which caused this. I've tried following the steps on this forum, but installing the Wacom 7.3.4.28 driver hasn't fixed the issue.

My Yoga 12 touchscreen had lots of smudges and fingerprints. I tried cleaning with a lint free cloth and water, but it didn't do the trick, so I naively added a drop of alcohol to the wet cloth. Oops! It now has weird streaks and discoloration (that only can bee seen when the screen of off, btw). But how can I clean this or refinish the touchscreen to remove the marks the alcohol seemed to create? Lucy?

The driver download page for this model is pretty comprehensive, but one driver I'm missing is for the touchscreen itself.  I believe the touchscreen manufacturer for this model is Elan MicroElectronics, and that the part is the  Elan MicroElectronics 10 point touchscreen.  When I go to the Elan website, it refers me back to the system integrator (Lenovo) for drivers.  Is there a generic Windows driver in Win 8.1 that works with this hardware? (Before you ask, this is a unit that had a failed/replaced hard drive, so no D: partition is available with the original drivers.) Thanks.
