Q: Popup is going behind the parent window in IE11. when parent window had a alert triggered, that makes the child window lose focus and go behind

Issue in IE11:

when parent window had a alert triggered, that makes the child window lose focus and go behind

Scenerio:

There is a button in parent page (domain A) and on click of the button Popup window (Domain B) will open and child window will communicate back to parent window. when parent window had a alert triggered, that makes the child window lose focus and go behind
only in IE11 browser.

IE edge and other browsers we can see the popup window on top of the parent window.

is there any fix to retain popup window on top of parent window until user closes the popup(child) window.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Popup is going behind  the parent window in IE11 when focus is on parent window

steps :

we are working on cross domain communication between parent and popup window .

There is a button in parent page (domain A) and on click of the button Popup window (Domain B) will open and child window will communicate back to parent window after popup window is losing focus and going behind the parent window only in IE11. IE edge and
other browsers we can see the popup window on top of the parent window. This the is expected behaviour

When you move a pop up window too high the title/tool bar of the child window is hidden by the main window's tool bar/title bar. As a result the child window is stuck and can not be resized or moved back to the original position or any where you can see
the whole window. Though you can scroll the contents and all the window itself is stuck. The child window never gets the focus back. Unless you close the main window you can not get the child window back to its normal position.
Is there any way that you can move the whole window (not just the contents) back to its original location or maximize that inner window only. Any short cut to move the window only results in moving the main window not the child window.
Thx.

Hi Champs....

Just want a liitle suggestion and a feedback on my current query, which is as follows: -

A softwatre developed from our vendors on VB, & Access platform, has different Modules.
In each modules, there are some categories, and clicking on them opens a child window.

The size of the child window created in the software is not very comfortable in viewing the details, as the size of the window is prety small, say 2/5 of the parent window.

And, considering the Parent Window size as equivalent to that of the Excel file (maximized view), the view area for the child windows created is very small.

I am not pretty familiar with VB, and hence require a technical help on the same.
I think that the increase in size is possible, through reworking on the Forms.

Please revert with the possible solutions on the same.

Regards,
Divy

An Oracle Form is launched as a Java Applet in IE11. Ideally the user should not be aware of parent browser window but when the form launches another popup (eg adobe, MS office) window the parent window then comes to the foreground and hides the java applet
window - confusing for the user when they close the adobe or office application window!.  This is with regards to Windows 7.  With IE version 8 this was all worked ok and window behaviour was logical for the user.

I can always reproduce the terrible slow & hang case.

  Test environment below:

  Test Planing Step by Step:

Step 1: It executed  window.open command to make child window  in parent window by using javascript code.

Step 2: I manual control to Minimize
parent window, then switch to child window(include ActiveX Control screen) to operate.

The tragedy happened, test result below.
In IE8 browser, javascript executing hang and also ActiveX control rendering freeze. it will slow over 10 times speed.

In IE9 browser, javascript executing slight hang and also ActiveX control rendering a little freeze. it will slow over 5 times speed.

I am on Windows XP with a v92 modem but my ISP does not support this feature. It still works, in that I get a pop up window when I have an incoming call, and have the choice of answering or ignoring the call. I just can't put the online on hold. This is great and really what I need, except for one thing. It only rings one very short ring and then counts down 10 seconds and is gone. That's fine if I'm right here but often I'm not and can't sprint fast enough to get here and click to disconnect and answer the phone. Is there anyway to extend the time this call alert window is available or even to disconnect me from online automatically so the phone can ring ?
Also I know someone will suggest I get Callwave.... I have that, but unfortunately my new phone provider doesn't have call forwarding on busy, so it doesn't work. I can't get broadband either, because that also doesn't work with this phone service.
Any info or advice ?..... besides getting a new phone company.

What I would like to do:
I have an MDI form with two child forms. The MDI form has a set of menu options that unhide/hide each of the child forms - with checks by the menu entries. The checks work nicely. However, if the user closes one of the child forms, the check is still showing in the parent form menu. I would like to control the checked status of the parent form menu if the user closes a child form.

I tried to include the following sub in the child form:

Private Sub Form_Unload(Cancel As Integer)
frmMain.mnuDeck.Checked = False
End Sub

However, VB thinks I'm trying to load another MDI form -- and this won't work.

I also tried to mess with the QueryUnload Event, but got nowhere.

So, my question is: how do I control the parent form menu properties when a child is closed.

Profuse thanks in advance.

Hello,

I am trying to create a child/Parent relationship and find all children that are belong to the parent in one table using Access. I.e. Car parts that belong to a car and nuts that belong to a car but are used to assemble other components of the car. Is there any solution for this Query? Is it possible to recursively search the table till all the children are found including their parents? Is sort of like designing the Tree, in C++. Please any suggestion would be strongly appreciated.

Here's my problem. I'm creating an evaluation form. I have a parent form that captures the Project Information data, then 5 subforms, each containing the same set of fields (Requirement, Score, Comment etc), but geared around 5 different categories (5 phases of the project which each have their own requirements(questions).
My problem is when I create records in 2 child forms, the next time I open the form for that parent record, I see all the child records copied under each of the 2 child forms.
An evaluation is rarely completed in one sitting, so I need the records to be kept divided in the form view.
I have used 1 table to hold all the child records, and used queries to divide them for the child forms. So I am assuming the problem is that all the children live in the same table.
I tried creating separate tables for each of the 5 categories, but then I can't get the relationships to work between the parent form and the child records.
Can you suggest a table/form/query structure that might solve my issue? I can upload my file if needed.

If a top-order folder is set to give "Everyone" access and Full control, and I wish this to apply to every subfolder, sub-subfolder and file i.e. everything within the parent folder - is it just a matter of ticking the "replace all child object permissions with inheritable permissions from this object" - and will that do everything at every tier, or is it necessary to apply it to each sub-folder (would have thought the former)

and if this is done, does it apply it then retrospectively to everything already in the sub-folders, or does it only apply to new entries, or does it do both?

I have put this in Windows 7, but does the same also apply to Windows 10? TIA.

After getting used to working with Windows Live Mail, a problem started as I would click on a link inside the e-mail, that normally would automatically open a browser window leading to more info on the e-mail topic.

2 weeks ago, when I'd click on a link in the e-mail, a Word document would open instead of a browser window.

So I uninstalled Microsoft Office 2010 version and thought that would solve the problem.

Then a few days later, when I'd click a link again in an e-mail, the window opened to print, on all links of every e-mail that should have opened browsers.

I noticed that I still had Windows Office 2007, so I uninstalled it also, but am left with the print window opening whenever I click a link in an e=mail.

Any suggestions? Thank you

There are some scripts out there to do this... and there is no reason it has to be IE only. I can write something for you. but I need to know exactly what you need. Would you like to specify the height and width of the image that you want the window opened to so its a different size than the original image?
Or you could have it detect the height and width of the image and open to the same size.
Or maybe you would like it increased by a scale factor (double the width and double the height for example).

Seen this problem posted many times without a solution.  Maybe this is the place to find it? With either Windows 7 Pro 64b or Windows 10 Pro 64b, the computer repeatedly "seems to" change focus to some invisible window and stay there.  The obvious effect is that mouse clicks are not recognized, whether with the touchpad or with a wireless mouse.  Ctrl-Alt-Del => Cancel frees it up, at least momentarily, but sooner or later the same thing will happen.  Hoping someone here has done what I couldn't find elsewhere, discovered a solution.  Thanks for any help you can give me!

A:How can I Access a Child Network From a Parent Network in Win7 64bit

Why did you add a second "router" (i.e. the E2500)? You describe only a PC and NAS connected to it, which I assume are both wired-connected to the E2500. Doesn't sound like you need any of the wireless capabilities of the E2500.

What you really should have done is get a "switch", not a router, to satisfy your needs to connect that PC and NAS. A switch has none of the firewall and security features that a router has. It's simply a "port-multiplier" which has one upstream connection port (say to a wired port on your primary Comcast gateway, i.e. modem + router combined), same as your E2500 is currently connected through its WAN port to your Comast router. The switch also has an additional number of downstream ports, to allow devices in its physical vicinity to be wired-connected, same as your router did. So to the downstream wired devices currently connected to your E2500 the "switch" device looks identical, and provides the identical access to the Internet.

But the switch will provide unblocked access to all other devices on the primary LAN hosted by itself as well as by the Comcast router. And it will also provide unblocked access to all downstream devices, to any upstream device (like your first computer). Everything connected through the switch appears identical to how it would look if connected directly to the primary router, and access between ALL devices is now possible and unrestricted by firewalls and security (since the... I may not have this under the correct section and please keep in mind that I am not a programmer but here goes.

I am trying to add a hyperlink in Outlook 2007 signature file that will open a child site, but the child site seems to need some personalized information in the cache that comes from opening a parent site first:

Parent site: http://www.mywildtree.com/chad/
Child Site: http://www.mywildtree.com/shop/catalog.aspx

When the child site is opened directly (without opening parent first) it loads forever. The parent site does not require any authenication it just has to be opened first and then the child site operates correctly.

Is there a simple way to have one hyperlink either a) open two sites one after the other in the same window? or b) open the childsite with a parent site dependancy (tag?, bookmark?) on the hyperlink?

I have been on google searching all afternoon and haven't had any luck yet so any help is appreciated.

Apparently I made a mistake when I started because I selected my entire E: drive as the location for my documents folder thinking it would create one for me. I realized that was a mistake and then created a documents folder within my E: drive hoping to make that my location and I'm getting a "cannot move parent into child" message. I moved the location for all of the other folders knowing that I needed to create a folder first. The problem is, now I think the OS is reading all of my other folders, videos, music, and other randoms as being in the documents folder which I don't want. I just got a new computer and it has Windows 7. Windows 7 is driving me nuts because the top-most window will not automatically get focus. For example, say I have Windows-Explorer and Notepad open. I have Notepad focused and am working in it. I then close Notepad, which leaves Windows-Explorer as the only open window on the desktop. Yet the Windows-Explorer window will not automaticlaly get focus. Instead it is "greyed" out and the only way I can focus it is to click on the window. This is so ANNOYING.

Also, when I assign a keyboard shortcut (e.g., to open Internet Explorer if I assign Ctrl+Alt+I), it will never open with focus. It will open the app but it will be "greyed out" and it will not get focus until I click on it.

This never happened on Windows XP. On XP the top-most window would always get focus if there was no window "above it" or if the window "above it" was closed.

Is there any way to get Windows 7 to behave like Windows XP with windows getting focus?

A:how do I get the top-most window to always grab focus?

When you close a program, focus returns to wherever it was before you focussed on the program you just closed. However, the problem here is if you have Explorer open, for example, open Notepad with the Start menu, then close Notepad, focus returns to the Start menu / taskbar because that's where it was last.

There's an option in the Ease of Access settings to have it focus on whatever the mouse is hovering over, if that helps - go to Ease of Access > Make the mouse easier to use, then check 'Activate a window by hovering over it with the mouse'.

So I've started to have this REALLY annoying problem in the last day or so. What happens is I will be typing away, on a game, or something. The window I'm working on will suddenly lose focus and be inactive. This will then spread to every single window of every program I have open. I can't even click the desktop or start menu. I can Ctrl-Alt-Delete and start the task manager, which will let me start to click items again temporarily. I may be able to retain focus for a minute to 15, then I'll have to ctrl-alt-delete to get the task manager again. The keyboard does not seem to be affected. Any ideas? The problem first started when I plugged in an external hard drive that I am pretty sure is clean. KasperSky antivirus can't detect anything, and ChkDsk is clean as a whistle.

Update: I have installed a new mouse, a Logitech G5 Laser Mouse. I uninstalled the old drivers and installed the latest SetPoint drivers. This does not seem to have fixed my problem. I suppose this should be upgraded from "getting" annoying to "is" annoying

Okay, this may seem strange but basically about ever 3-5 minutes no matter if im in a full screen app or browsing the net I loose focus to that window. If I am in a full screen app it goes to the desktop. When I am browsing the net and it losses focus I can still see the screen but am no longer able to scroll using wheel mouse or when Im typing it will just stop when it goes out of focus. Run a good spyware and virus scan. Sounds like there is a program running in the background that is accessing itself every few minutes and stealing focus. It could, of course, also be a ligitamate program that you have running. If something is checking for updates constantly for instance. run "msconfig" and disable any not needed startup programs and see if that stops it.

Hello,

Have a problem that started about 2 weeks ago. Seems that every two to three minutes the top most window looses focus and the cursor moves out of sight. I've got to move the mouse to get the cursor display then click on the window I was working on to regain focus. It's a real pain in the ^&$&.

Does anyone have any idea what is causing this?

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

A:Window Looses Focus

Hello Arthur,Welcome to BC.It looks like this is something to do with a background program, or could be due to not responding application.Try Running a Anti-Spyware Scan get the help from Spyware Removal & Malware Self-Help and Reading Room. Also check with any recent software or hardware added to your computer.Best Regards.

For some reason the "focus" goes away from the page I'm on and my cursor disappears Whether it's in Word on the Internet etc. I can click back on the page and it reappears. The "title" bar lightens up so the focus must be going to another program. It happens no matter what I'm looking at.

Hide mouse while typing is not checked.

Any ideas?

A:window loses focus

Possibly this is happening because the app is not responding, however this does not seem likely. Does this problem occur at any specific time, such as mostly when you are typing?
Also, if you are using a touchpad with tap-to-click enabled, you could be simply brushing the pad by accident and clicking to another window.
Finally, some background programs will take "priority" when doing certain tasks, such as a antivirus program, and will cause the window to lose "focus."
Hope this helps.

Another annoying issue.

I've been dealing with this for awhile. To the best of my knowledge, it started after I finally updated from Firefox v15.xx to the current version.

The problem:

I will be on webpage/forum, select a link (on the same forum) and choose open in a new window. The new window will open and load. And then, quite often but not all the time, Firefox will switch from the newly opened window back to the original window. It should stay on the new window (and is what I want it to do). I then have to select the new window and that window will then stay in focus.

Is there a setting or fix for this behavior?

A:Firefox window focus

If the behaviour is random/variable as you suggest, perhaps creating a new Firefox profile and importing your data into it would be a good move? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb...ores-user-data

Pale Moon Commander is a useful add-on configurator but not all settings exist in Firefox, it's primarily for Pale Moon: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...oon-commander/

As you seem reluctant to upgrade FF sometimes, perhaps you should try out Pale Moon anyway, it uses a different profile, your FF settings/data can be migrated easily: The Pale Moon Project homepage

Hi,

I am having this issue with a custom built PC running on core 2 duo with 2gigs of RAM and ATI 2600 PRO PCIe GPU and 17inch wide LCD Monitor. This is a new PC and am having the issue from the beginning. The OS is Vista ultimate with all the updates installed.

There are two issues that occur. They sometime occur randomly during an active session or sometimes occur during windows start-up itself. Either issue1 occurs or issue2 occurs but not together.

issue 1: Not able to focus on any of the open windows ie not able to make any of the open windows active: When i click on the status bar or content area of an open window the window is not made active. And also if i click on any of the active windows, it immediately becomes inactive.

Even when i click on the minimize, maximize or close buttons on the right top corner nothing happens. But when i use alt+tab to select an open window, then the window gains focus / becomes active and i am able to use tab to cycle between the items in the window.

But i am still able to double click and open items from the desktop when this issue occurs.

Issue 2: Not able to click on the start button (windows button), when i do so nothing happens. Also not able to right click on the task bar aswell. When this occurs, not able to double click on anything on the desktop as well. But windows+R (RUN) works and am able to type into it to open my computer etc. When i type and open windows through run, those windows act normally

Hi I'm having a problem with my windows randomly unfocusing. It's extremely annoying while typing because every few seconds I have to re-click on the window to continue typing. It's like an application is stealing the windows focus but no new window pops up and no window has focus. The problem seems to come and go. For about an hour it won't do it then the next it will happen every few seconds.

I've tried both avast and malwarebytes and neither come up with any infections. My Windows 7 OS is up to date.

Please help, this is especially troublesome considering I have multiple papers to write this week. Thanks
