I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi, I recently bought the l340-I5RH (Gaming laptop, 9th gen i5, GTX 1650), and I noticed that the touchpad seems to be pretty bad in a couple different ways. The first thing I noticed was that the touchpad feels sort of "loose", the physical touchpad plate seems to descend slightly even upon light presses that don't trigger a click. Secondly, I'm unable to move the cursor using the touchpad while during any sort of keypress. This is an issue in things like simple games (Obviously, only the type that I would play with a touchpad, using a USB mouse is fine). I looked into it and it seems like an intentional feature, something about accidental palm movement while typing; however, I followed multiple sets of directions in pursuit of disabling, but my device seems to be missing the options set to remove the function.  Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Just bought a brand new IdeaPad L340.Its Touchpad is not working properly -It is missing basic gestures; For example "Two-finger tap" = Right click doesn't work, or when I drag a file and my finger reaches the end of the touchpad the file stops dragging instead of continuing to go in the same direction.Two-finger scroll stops working if I scroll slowly and keeps on going if I remove one finger during scrolling. I have done all the basic stuff:1) Windows touchpad settings page has almost no options in it other than "Touchpad sensitivity", so that didn't work2) In device manager, there is absolutely no driver for the touchpad. I updated the rest of the drivers.3) Windows is up to date.4) I ran the Lenovo scan for any new drivers and all the Lenovo drivers and BIOS are up to date.5) Windows helper could not solve this issue. I have absolutely no touchpad control and I am desperate for help.Thank you

I got gifted a IdeaPad L340-17API for my birthday as my old computer died, I still haven't finished setting it up because I can't figure out how to change the scroll direction and it's driving me nuts. There's no convenient button under the Windows settings like there is on most computers and the "additional settings" box does not have a tab for touchpad driver settings (e.g. Elan), I've updated all the drivers, restarted the machine several times, searched the computer for any touchpad or mouse settings and scoured most of Google. Hi All,I am trying to figure out what the max ram is for my machine:L340-15IRH Gaming Laptop (ideapad) - Type 81LKMachine Type Model:81LK00SRCFProcessor: 1x Intel Core i7-9750H Processor(Core i7-9750H)Memory: 1x 16GBDDR42400Operating System: Windows 10 Home 64(EN:English,FR:French)Hard Drive: 1x 1TBPCIeNVMeWireless Network: 1x Intel Wireless-AC 9560 2x2 AC+BT5.0Ports: 1x Combo of 3.5mm Stereo Headphone OutputCamera: 1x 720P Camera with Dual MicGraphics: 1x NVIDIA GTX 1650Monitor: 15.6 1920x1080Included Warranty: 1 Year Mail-inAs far as I can tell, the manufacture recommended is 16, which is what it came with. But it seems like it is fairly new (I think it was manufactured in Dec 2019), so I am wondering if the info that I am reading is for older models, because I have seen a lot of different configurations for this laptop online, and not many come with more than 8gb.According to crucial it maxes out at 16 or 20; I guess some motherboaerds have an extra 4gb soldered to the board, as far as i can tell mine does not.PHS memory, on amazon.uk say its 36gb! That is probably 32+4 if you have it soldered to your motherboard; so 32 in my case. If it can handle more than recommended, I wouldnt mind giving it a go, but I would be inclined to order a comparable part from crucial instead of this cheap stuff. Does anyone have experience with upgrading past 16gb, or know if it might work? Thanks in advance!

A:L340-15IRH Gaming Laptop (ideapad) - Type 81LK Ram Upgrade

If I remember correctly, the motherboard of L340 actually supports up to 32GB RAM. While I can't be certain since this is never officially documented.

I bought my ideapad l340 a week before i left on a 3 months trip, so 2 weeks ago. It worked at first but now the keyboard is going crazy. No respons on typing, but it?s typing zero?s itself, continuously. So can?t get in, cause i can?t type my password. It worked once (trying for days now) so i updated stuff, see if it were drivers, it said it updated the bios, and then it rebooted, i had to login again.. and i got the zero?s back. It?s not the zero button that got stuck, it doesn?t feel stuck. So can?t go to the store since i?m a long way from home, does anyone have an idea what i can do?

Hello, I purchased a Lenovo IdeaPad 310-151SK (non-touchscreen).  Other than an extremely awkward placement of the up arrow key and Shift key, I like it.  But there are two reoccuring problems which I can't solve, which may or may not be related. 1) Periodocally, the pointer gets a mind of its own...  it moves erratically, opens and closes windows (as if the buttons left/right buttons are being clicked), jumps around, barely (if at all) responses to motions on the touchpad.  But if I wait 15 to 60 seconds, everything returns to normal.  It's strange.  Waiting for a bit is the only solution.  This happens about once every two hours of usage, not enough to cause real problems, but enough to be annoying.  No apparent  correlation with system utilization, time since boot, etc. 2) Also periodically, the computer hangs.  I can move the mouse cursor, but that's it.  Clicking doesn't get a menu, even on the desktop. In fact, everything with the computer, except the cursor, 'pauses'/freezes for 20-30 seconds. Then it returns to normal.  No correlation with the event above either. I have tried updating drivers.  I have watched for some event that proceeds the two events.  Frustratingly, the latest driver, from Lenovo website, for the ELAN touchpad causes Win10 to bluescreen, so I have rolled back to previous driver (related/separate issue? why is that driver even posted on the Lenovo official webs... I just bought this laptop and I can't seem to enable touchpad scrolling? The touchpad itself is working, but there's no way to scroll. Everything I've found online says it was a problem with Windows 10, and you have to enable that setting under Mouse Properties in the ELAN tab, but when I go there, there's no device listed. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Greetings. I have a brand new Ideapad 320-15IAP laptop - actually two of them! One is just fine the other has a problem with the touchpad. Both have had Windows deleted and Ubuntu 16.04 LTS installed. One of the laptops has normal touchpad function except when trying to drag (pressing the left click and moving the cursor with the touchpad). Once the left click is pressed, the touchpad will not move the cursor. A USB mouse works normally on the malfunctioning laptop. Since the other identical laptop works fine and both were upgraded to Ubuntu in the same hour, and USB mouse works OK; it is clearly neither a driver issue nor an OS issue. But here are my questions: 1) how do I request service to repair this touchpad?2) preliminary checks suggest I would have to ship it to the USA, but can that be correct? Does Lenovo provide a shipping authorization?3) Since Lenovo support seems to be software-focused, how will the presence of Ubuntu OS affect my prognosis? I did not see any information with the laptop when I purchased it requiring that I retain Windows as my OS to retain warranty coverage - did I miss some small print somewhere? Thank you for your kind assistance!

A:Touchpad not working on ideapad 300. How do I fix ...

Hi there, Tom ?

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

Just found the same problem with my Ideapad 500. Touch pad completely non responsive.
Under start menu, settings, devices, mouse & touchpad, additional mouse options, elan tab. The elan touchpad settings were completely grayed out and unavailable.

So from there I went to the window search in the task bar and typed in "computer management? and opened the computer management desktop app. Under device manager selected mice and other pointing devices and then elan input device. In the elan properties window that opened I selected uninstall to uninstall the driver and in the next box that opened warning that the driver was about to be uninstalled l checked the delete driver and then OK.
Then restarted windows. In the process of restarting windows detected the elan touchpad as a new device and installed the driver in time for the login screen. So my elan touch pad is now working again.

I am assuming that the driver had been corrupted in the upgrade from Windows 8.1 to 10

Touchpad driver for windows 10
Touchpad driver for windows 8.1

Update us how it goes.

Hello Lenovo Community!  I'm a proud owner of a Lenovo IdeaPad 700-15ISK. I like this laptop alot, even though I only got it a week ago. There is a problem, however. My touchpad is "jumping" at specific time intervals (approx. at a 3 second interval). The "lag" doesn't last more than 0.5 milliseconds, but it's really, really annoying. I tried uninstalling, reinstalling the Synaptics touchpad drivers (I use Windows 10). I tried the ones from Lenovo Support, then the generic ones. I also tried disabling PalmCheck. It didn't work. I tried disabling Realtek Audio Manager, as some people on these forums had a problem with the audio driver causing some kind of conflict, on other laptop models. But that did not work either. Then I installed Ubuntu, and the problem still persisted. I have this annoying touchpad problem even in boot menus! (like Windows/Ubuntu menus, before installing the OS).I opened up a program, which is incorporated into the Synaptics Driver on Windows, called MoodPad, which basically draws a line when you swipe your finger across the touchpad surface. I noticed there are gaps inbetween. I posted some photos to make things more clear. The intervals are fixed, no matter if you swipe the finger across or not. For instance, if you happen to swipe it 2 seconds after the previous "lag" had occured, the next one will occur after 1 second (there is a 3 second interval, as I said before), and so on. Here are the photos from MoodPad. The red circles rep... Read more

Hi, I have an Ideapad Y430 that was purchased January this year. The problem I am facing is that the touchpad mouse goes crazy when I am sitting with the laptop at certain angles.Particularly, if I am lounging on a couch with the laptop sitting in my lap... The mouse pointer goes crazy and windows start opening up and I can see left and right click menus coming up on the screen even when I am not touching the mousepad on the laptop.I have no problems using USB mouse though.I was wondering if anyone here has faced a similar problem and if so, what is the solution.I have tried checking for updated drivers and even installing Windows 7 but it is the same problem no matter what and it is pretty frustrating. I will appreciate any help on the issue Thanks,Sunny

A:Help! Ideapad touchpad mouse goes crazy.

I think the case interferes with the mouse when you rest your hands on it. My Fujitso, Dell and Lenovo have the same problems. It is ok if I don't lean my hands on the case and just touch the keys. Maybe the have the same vendor making the mouse pad.

I have this problem with an ideapad that was handed down to me for repair. The touchpad doesn't work. It came with Win 10 preinstalled, and also the ELAN driver. When I try to use the touchpad, it does nothing. The clic button works, so if I disable the touchpad with the Fn key, it disables it (that way I know it's not disabled when I try to use it). Using a USB mouse works just fine. I did everything I found in the forum: reinstalling windows, the drivers, using older drivers, updating the OS, changing sensibility options and so on, but nothing seems to work.I'm pretty desperate, since the phone assistance didn't solve my problem either. So, help me guys, please?

My laptop stopped working and I have started troubleshooting it today and have hit roadblock after roadblock trying to figure out what could be wrong.  When i turn the power on the power button turns on and the LEDS on the indicator bar at the bottom turn on but the screen turns off. I have tried to hard reset. I have removed the battery also to hard reset. Also has not worked. Tried connecting to the AC adapter after testing the AC adapted itself which is still measuring at 20V and the screen will flash white for a second when its plugged in without the battery. I checked the heat sink to make sure it was working and it si working fine. When I removed the fan though the thermal paste underneath was less than minimal and it fealt greasy. I don't think my CPU would have burnt up though because though becasue my system should have responded and triggered to shutdown. Everything is plugged in appropriately. All my memory is appropriately placed and nothing traumatic has happened to this laptop. Has not been dropped, stepped on, nothing.  I'm concerned maybe my motherboard shorted out but I feel liked that would be a little extreme. Do you have other suggestions for troubleshooting? I'm leaving it on the charger overnight before I mess with it again tomorrow! Thanks!
