After to start the PC with keyboard eneramx connected the qosmio has not loaded windows vista ultimate and the inner impellers have been activated.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: Qosmio G50-12q - Vista does not load after connecting external USB keyboard

Hi mate

Sorry but you message I really hard to understand?
What I understand is that you connected an external keyboard to the Qosmio and now the notebook does not boot up correctly. Is it right?

What to say; maybe you should disable the USB legacy mode in BIOS.
Please check this!
To get into the BIOS press F2 and while powering up the notebook.

I currently have a Yoga 2 Pro laptop that has Bluetooth, 2 USB ports, 1 micro HDMI port, and a 3200x1800 resolution.

I want to connect it to a pair of desktop monitors (lower resolution) and a wired USB keyboard as effortlessly as possible (since I will be moving the laptop back and forth a lot). What hardware is needed to accomplish this?

Let's say I wanted to connect it to this EVGA dual-monitor stand (haven't purchased it yet), which appears to use two DVI inputs, would I need some dual DVI into HDMI adapter (if such a thing even exists)? Or would I be better off just trying to connect it to a laptop docking station?

If I don't go the docking station route, I would like to connect to my wired/USB keyboard via Bluetooth if possible. Just googling around came up with a few USB -> Bluetooth adapters (1, 2). Does anyone have any experience with these or better recommendations?

Lastly, will jumping from 3200x1800 resolution to something like two 1400X900 resolutions cause any issues? I don't care if the picture quality is lower on the monitors, but I do want to make sure they're working full-screen.

I have no experience connecting a laptop to normal desktop hardware in this way so I'd really appreciate any input or suggestions. If you have any hardware recommendations (including a docking station or better dual-monitor setup), I'd love to hear them. Thank you.

A:Solved: Connecting laptop to external monitors/keyboard

Take a look at Lenovo's USB 3.0 docks here, type your model in to get the recommended ones: http://shop.lenovo.com/ca/en/accessories/dock-port-replicators/
One USB cable will connect everything back to the Yoga.

The converting to Bluetooth makes no sense, you're just adding more devices and hassle. A simple USB hub would be better if you didn't go for a full dock. Connect the wired mouse and keyboard to the USB dock or buy a new Bluetooth keyboard/mouse.

Once you undock the Yoga's screen should kick back in and work at it's supported resolution.

No matter how flashy and improved windows gets, it always contains the same amount of Microsoft stupidity that I know will never disappear from the windows platform.

I have an HP laptop with the standard built in Intel graphics card. I always connect my laptop to one of my LCD monitors or lately my plasma TV. Its great. but these two problems really kill my mood:

1- when I connect them it often times forgets what my previous settings were (Second monitor set as primary, not mirrored) so i have to always go into settings and change that. For weeks it might remember those settings then out of the blue it reverses them so that the laptop monitor is actually hte primary while the TV is the secondary, or isnt checked as "Attached". What is this? In 2008 Microsoft still can't get something like this right. On one of the monitors it forgets the resolution i set it to so I have to keep resetting it.

2- When I unplug the external monitor from the laptop sometimes, like right now, the task bar becomes invisible (except for the start menu button) so the only way for me to figure out where the icons in the tray are is by mouseovering them. totally retarded. I have to restart to fix this.
What pisses me off the most is concern #1. it should remember what the settings are without contantly reversing them or worse, me having to go into settings and actually tell it that there i another monitor connected.

Anybody have this problem? Are there any fixes? I have already downloa... Read more

I've just noticed something that nobody else has, Microsoft isn't stupid, infact its the latter, No.1 Rule when connecting hardware... Turn off the computer before connecting any new hardware, I worked this out with Windows XP and if it's been happening since this version then the problem isnt Microsoft's operating system , it's the user being oblivious of how to use the operating system without fault.

I have a Western Digital MyBook (external drive that connects via Firewire) and an iPhone. Up until about a day or so ago, both were working just fine. I could see both devices in explorer and connect to them without any problems.

Now, I'm no longer able to see them in Explorer. My PC still "sees" the devices on some level because the iPhone will connect and sync with iTunes. (I just can't get to the iPhone as an USB drive from explorer.)

The HD is still listed in the device manager. However it is listed as "This device is not configured correctly." I've tried uninstalling, disabling, reinstalling drivers, different ports and have had no luck getting my machine to see either device. I've rebooted with them plugged in/unplugged, drivers/no drivers, and even tried different ports.

I've also verified that there is nothing wrong with the HD or the iPhone. Both connect flawlessly on my husband's Vista (non 64bit of course) machine. I also have thumb drive that connects (and shows up in explorer with no problems).

Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!

I spilt a small amount of hot chocolate on one side of my Qosmio E10. Oops!

I've since given it over 24 hours to dry out, and I've also taken apart the keyboard to wipe it down - there was dried hot chocolate residue in it. I will try turning it on again in a while to see if the keyboard now works (it stopped completely, just made beeping sounds), and have done a search online for spare keyboards...

Does anyone have any further suggestions before I purchase a keyboard? And if I do, how do I go about installing it? Is it just a matter of taking the chip type thing out, and putting the new one in, and then screwing everything back?

In my opinion problem is defective keyboard. As you can see complete OS reinstallation didn?t change anything. It must be hardware related issue.

Hello to everyone out there, I own a Qosmio E10/2kldew and I bought this at Yodabashi Shop in Japan last year. Unfortunately my package didn't include a driver disc nor did they include a windows recovery CD.

My question is, how do I gain functionality of the japanese characters on the keyboard without using REGIONAL and LANGUAGE options inside windows. When my notebook was first running I was able to press a button under the escape key that allowed my to type in Hiragana, Katakana and English respectively. If anyone knows a link that will lead me to a driver for this I would really appreciate your help. I have everything else running perfectly on my pc now except for this.

Kind Regards

The baby was playing with our PC and has somehow disabled the wireless keyboard.

How do I unlock it?

A:Keyboard is disabled on my Qosmio PX30T

The wireless keyboard supports an power button which is used for turning on/off the power of the computer and additionally there is an power ON/OFF slider which is used for tuning on(off the power of the keyboard.
Check if its set to ON position.

Furthermore the keyboard contains a battery indicator in the right upper corner.
This indicator glows for nice to ten seconds when the keyboard is turned on. Blinking for five seconds show the battery of the keyboard is low and fast blinking for two seconds and then going off shows the battery of the keyboard is exhausted.

After the wireless keyboard has been powered ON, it should be detected by computer automatically.

By the way: read user manual ? it helps a lot ;)

I have a Qosmio X70-A-12N, newly bought last September, Windows 8.1, 64 bit.

After working properly (and great!) for half a year, the keyboard started to stutter.

If you type a paragraph or two, with let's say 250 words, every then and now, let's say every 10th or 20th word (undpredictable), a key-stroke yields no results. I tried a different keyboard via USB: no problems, so it has to do with the Qosmio in-built keyboard.

It does not depend on specific keys, and it does not depend on the pressure with which you press down the key.
Any key may turn out to be ignored every now and then.

All drivers have been updated to the most recent issues, BIOS is 1.50.

It seems that the problem is most prominent when working on battery (not sure).

Is this a software or a hardware problem? Does the keyboard need to be exchanged?

A:Qosmio X70-A - keyboard is not working properly

My first thought was BIOS update but according Toshiba download page you have latest BIOS version.
You know it is not easy to say what is wrong there. I cannot say for sure if there is some problem with the keyboard but maybe you should contact nearest Toshiba service provider, explain the situation and ask for help.

They should know what must be done. at least, they have very good diagnostic tools and it is possible to detect the problem.

am about to buy an external monitor and I was wondering what would work with my laptop.
I want it to work as an additional surface (Not a copy of my current screen) with both screens working at the same time.

My laptop seems to have a VGA port and an HDMI port.
I have already tried through the HDMI port with an old -probablybroken- monitor but that didnt work out.
I dunno if that's due to the monitor or my laptop.

I also tried searching for VGA monitors but when I checked the specs for my laptop it didnt list that it could connect a monitor via VGA....

Anyone knows what actually would work?..
thanks in advance!

A:Qosmio x70-A-12 - question about the usage of external monitor

As you already said: the notebook supports the VGA (RGB) monitor out port as well as the HDMI out port.
So you can use one of the ports in order to connect the external monitor.

Nowadays the HDMI port is a standard interface which is supported by almost all external monitors? and I would recommend you to use the HDMI connection. The HDMI supports digital signals and provides better picture quality.

So it?s your choice now to pick a good working external monitor.

I have a Toshiba Qosmio Dx730.
I am not using the supplied wireless keyboard, but a standard D+ll wired keyboard as I prefer the keyboard layout.

However the keyboard indicator for the virtual keyboard is malfunctioning, and appears in the bottom left of the screen randomly (regardless of whether I hit caps lock or not).

It has now begun to randomly switch Caps Lock on and off, for no apparent reason.

Can I switch the keyboard indicator off somehow?
I never use the virtual keyboard, so I would be happy for that to be turned off as well.

Thanks for any assistance!

A:Qosmio Dx730 - virtual keyboard indicator issue

The virtual keyboard indicator (icons) in the lower right corner of the screen appears because the provided WiFi keyboard does not support the indicators for NUM LOCK, CAPS LOCK and SCROLL LOCK. Therefore the ?virtual? indicators appears to shows the status of mentioned buttons.

You can turn the icons ON/OFF by clicking the Toshiba keyboard indicator in the notification area on the task bar.

Just bought an AIO Qosmio px30t-a-14r / windows 8.1

At power-up, during first setup, I had to choose language and keyboard setting.

I choose language: englisch-uk.
For the keyboard I had the choice of 3 types:
- belgian comma
- belgian dot (or point?)
- belgian french
I did choose belgian comma.

However, further down the setup process I could test key response of the keyboard with this setup.
This was the wrong setting.

How do I change it to 'belgian dot' or 'belgian french'.
Should be one of these 2 but I do not know how to change it.

Has anybode a suggestion?

A:Qosmio PX30T-A-14r: How to change keyboard language type

This is not very tricky:
Press the Windows key + C to open your Charms.. Then select the Settings charm, and then click Change PC settings. Click Time and language, then select Region and language. On the right, select your language and the click Options. Click Add a keyboard and then select the keyboard you want from the list.
This will add your selection to the Keyboards list.
You can remove a keyboard by clicking on it then click Remove.
Furthermore you can also add multiple keyboard layouts and switch between them when needed.

You can switch between your keyboard layouts clicking on the current language and keyboard in the lower right, and then select a keyboard layout. Or you can use the 2nd method: On your desktop you will see your current language in the lower right corner beside the clock. Click on your current language and choose a keyboard layout.

But if you have already installed the right graphic card driver, then I would recommend you to check the external display resolution settings.

Hi again.

My g10-133 had the uypgraded motherboard installed by Toshiba as it had been backwards and forwards in it's first year with graphic chip problems, so they installed the motherboard with the 6200 graphics chip.

Up until recently I have installed Windows XP from one of my defunct computers as I never got anywhere with my original qosmio recovery disk as it was damaged. I recently purchased another G10 as I wanted to replace keyboard and display and it came with disks,

I have put in a raw drive. I have used the Qosmio Player Recovery disk, and this reports that it is complete. I have then installed the Toshiba Recovery Disk which has Windows MCE on it. (I now have three original copies of this). But when windows goes to start, the computer gets past the Bios and then goes quickly to blue screen of death...I have tried using break so that I can read this, but this doesn't work. I have tried more than one windows disk, but no joy. I have also got special instructions from Toshiba, which has the Qosmio updater on it, and also another disk which has some of the extra drivers.

So far I have tried all sorts and every time I go to start the laptop it crashes. The Toshiba Recovery disk has two methods on it an automatic one, and an advanced on (which I haven't a clue how to use) . The automatic one, which doesn't bring up the normal windows install, but brings up a Toshiba specific one...and it goes from 0% to 100% and completes every time.

A:Qosmio G10-133 - Install Qosmio Player and using recovery disk

What you need is help from your service provider who has replaced mainboard. Long time ago I heard about this and what I know is that machine must be prepared for usage: that means service must update BIOS, check memory compatibility, RAID functions are not the same, Bios, EC/KBC and DMI must be updates and rewritten. The whle notebook must be prepared to work with new hardware components.

If I?m remembering well this new mainboard has different chipset and recovery image that you try to install has actually wrong drivers inside. With other words: after mainboard exchange system drivers and the Qosmio Player need an update.

You know the whole procedure is a little bit complicated but, as far as I know, Toshiba service provider must send you instructions for Qosmioplayer update and instructions for update tool.

At the moment I cannot help you. Please call service again and ask for help. If you will not get any help there let us know.

I just got a Toshiba Qosmio F45 AV411 with Vista ultiimate. This notebook is famous for its stereo sound, Harman Kardon speakers with subwoofer, and Dolby Home Theater audio. Unfortunately mine has very low volume for some reason even if you turn the master volume all the way up. And if I listen to music on the highest possible ( which is not high enough at all )
The sound is hoarse like when you listen to music on very cheap speakers with very high volume.

Please help, cause even though it was second hand it still was expensive.
The shop wasnt very helpfull.

A:Sound problem in Qosmio with Vista Ultimate

Please make sure that the volume on windows is all the way turned up, and there should be volume buttons on the actual unit which may work independent of the operating system so make sure they are all the way up.

Also make sure in the windows mixer the windows sounds are all the way up, and whatever program your using has the volume turned up.

You need to load SATA Drivers during the Windows installation.

During Windows Setup, it will prompt you to press F6 to specify a 3rd party storage device.
The Toshiba SATA driver will need to be on a Floppy Disk (or on USB key if you are installing Win7). The SATA Drivers can be found on the Toshiba website in the driver area.

I have a Lenovo 13 inch Thinkpad X1 Carbon Gen 3. I use it in my office, plugged into a Dock and the Dock is connected to a external keyboard, monitor mouse etc. When I remove the laptop from the Dock the Number Lock still remains on - meaning that the letter keys that correspond to the number keys are locked rendering the keyboard unusable to type on normally as not all keys are available. There is NO Num Lock key on the keyboard of the laptop and I've tried all sorts of combinations of FN + F7 / F8 and FN + Insert keys to turn the Number Lock off but it won't work. I've also tried to use the On screen virtual keyboard to turn the Num Lock off using the one on that virtual keyboard but that doesn't work either! I'm at wits end and I need to use my laptop for work but I can't type on all the keys! ?

After plugging in my external keyboard, both my external and laptop keyboard no longer function. The keyboards cannot type or execute shortcut commands. When clicking download links it results in downloading download.htm. This problem persists after unplugging the keyboard but only seems to begin after the external keyboard has been plugged in. After a restart computer use without plugging in the external keyboard results in no issues, though I haven't done so for extended periods of time. The external keyboard functions normally when plugged into another computer, though it was a Mac, so I'm not sure if the different operating system could have an effect here.
I've run a Malwarebytes scan already and it didn't pick up anything. I think it's likely a virus, but I can generally just use Malwarebytes to solve the vast majority of my problems so I don't know where to go from here. At the moment I'm running a Spybot search and destroy scan to see if that picks up anything Malwarebytes could have missed.
Any help would be appreciated, thank you.
Edit: Spybot managed to pick up and delete a virus called win32.downloader.gen, I also ran TDSSkiller and picked up no root kits. The problems still seems to occur.

Try a System Restore to a time before the problem began. If you have such a Restore point available.
1 - Restore:

Hi All,

My laptop had a blue screen and keyboard stops working as well, I plugged the external keyboard and re-install the windows, now half of the keys are working and half dosent.

I am wondering has the kyboard damaged, I am also not sure if the I replace the keyboard will it work?

is there any settings in bios or any utility can fix the problem, could some one please advise?

A:Keyboard stops working - USB external keyboard is fine

Hello Nysoh

On this virtual way nobody can say for sure what the problem is but if the internal keyboard is not working properly first step is keyboard replacement. If the problem still persists then troublemaker can be keyboard port or keyboard controller.

As far as I know BIOS has nothing to do with this issue.

No replies here yet ....
Download and scan with Adwcleaner. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/
Copy and paste the log in this thread or read the instructions carefully on how to use ADWCleaner on the linked Webpage.
Which Brand is your external keyboard?
I am thinking there might be a driver conflict and you may be able to fix it by downloading the latest drivers from the keyboard manufacturer's Website.

I thought that posting my experience just now might be helpful to others.

Yesterday (25-Aug-2009) my Outlook 2007 was working perfectly. I had downloaded & installed Outlook Connector 12.1 because I'd received an e-mail from Microsoft to say that the DAV protocol used for HTTP mail would be withdrawn on 1-Sep-09. I also noticed that MS had restored the POP3 service that they closed down a couple of years ago.

So I set up the POP3 account and started working with that. All OK.

Last night when I closed down, Windows Update came in and completed on reboot this morning. Outlook 2007 wouldn't start, coming up with the message: +Cannot Start Microsoft Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook Window. The set of folders cannot be opened. The information store could not be opened.+.

Nothing I did in that environment would enable Outlook 2007 to load, I created a new profile and that did no good.

So I went back to the System Restore Point made at the time of installing the Outlook Connector and everything sprang to life.

I had also tried the restore point that undid the Windows Update, but that didn't cure the problem either.

So, I'll see what happens when I reboot next time in case it had nothing to do with Windows Update.

Very strange?
But possibly the Windows update was really responsible for this issue? it?s hard to believe but this is not impossible?

After making Recovery disks for this machine, I completely removed Win7 from the drive (via Manage in Computer Management (right click on My Computer). Prior to that I downloaded all drivers from the Toshiba website. I installed Vista Ultimate plus the downloaded drivers. However there are 3 conflicts in Device Manager.

1. When I boot, there is always an error message saying,
“Incompatible display adapter has been disabled: At least one display adapter on the system has been disabled because its driver is not compatible with the driver for the VGA adapter”.

There seems to be nothing wrong with the display in actual fact as the screen appears normal. But in Device Manager under ‘Display adapters’, the line saying ‘NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M’ has a yellow conflict next to it.

2. In Device Manager under ‘Network adapters’ there is only one listed; ‘Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller’.

3. In Device Manager under ‘Other Devices’, there are 2 yellow conflicts. One says ‘Network Controller’& the other says ‘Unknown device’. The practical effect is that I cannot connect to any wireless networks & in fact none are listed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A:Qosmio X775-Q7384 - Wireless not working in Vista Ultimate 64

Okay.. Where did you get the drivers from?

The device driver, is quite possibly because the system has a hybrid gpu setup for power savings, and if you did not use the Toshiba supplied drivers, it won't work right.

Problem is, Vista isn't fully supported it seems, though 7 drivers should work.

The Network controllers easy... Go to the Reaktek site and d/l the vista drivers there, theres only like 3 choices, so i'm sure you can figure that out.

The 3rds abit trickier as you need to find out what it is... Get the first 2 solved might acttually solve the 3rd.

Everything was working fine. Suddenly, when I typed on the usb keyboard, nothing happened. So I put it in a different usb port on the laptop, and it still didn't work. So I tried the laptop's own keyboard and still nothing. I'm not sure what is going on.
I tried deleting the keyboard driver from Device Manager but that did nothing. I tried searching for this problem but all the results seem to not apply to this specifically.
Any help would be appreciated.
Also... I'm a n00b that knows very little about computers so bear with me

This is not acceptable. I need to be able to manage/view event logs on th Win 2003 machine from my Win 7 desktop.  This all worked fine using my Windows XP Event Viewer and now it is broken in Windows 7. How can I connect the Windows

Laptop is a Samsung R510 running Vista.
When it is switched on, it gets stuck on the Samsung BIOS load screen. The F2 (Setup) and F4 (Recovery) buttons don't work unless they are pressed straight away. But when they are pressed it says 'Please Wait', but nothing happens.
I have changed the CMOS battery, but it hasn't helped.

I have also taken the hard drive out and turned it on, still the same.  Each RAM stick has been tried on its own, and it is still the same.
Can anyone help?

I already have the issue that when I put my E5570 to sleep and wake it up again that the keyboard and touchpad do not work. So I have disable the sleep options in the BIOS.
Now I run into different issues.Yesterday I booted the laptop and it hang on the DELL logo, After a while it stated that my EFI file would not be correct. Force reboot and it booted straight to Windows.
What's more annoying is the fact that the laptop boot, the DELL logo is shown and then the screens go's black, as if it's not connected. SO it looks like it hangs.BUT an external monitor through HDMI does work and show the windows logon. The keyboard and touchpad also do not work.External mouse and keyboard do work.
So pretty much I got a brick when I do not have external display/keyboard and mouse available.
When I reboot the laptop it works fine again.Am I the only one with this?Loads of issues with the laptop and wondering if I just have a faulty laptop...

A:Latitude E5570 - Black display, no resons to keyboard/touchpad - External display/keyboard/mouse do work

I have been spending a lot of hours in troubleshooting this week.
Diagnostics are 100% ok.
Reinstalled Windows 10 about 15 times.Installing drivers by hands, installing drives trhough the dell update management application. The issues keeps existing.
To sum the them up:- Cold boot (laptop is off) to Windows. Keyboard/Touchpad do not work. (Reboot and they work again)- Resume from sleep. Keyboard/Touchpad do not work. (Reboot and the work again)
After I got the laptop I installed 32Gb of RAM and an 512Gb Samsung 950Pro PCIE M.2 NVME drive. The drive should be support as Dell states on the product page and in the manual that PCIE with NVME is supported.
"Advanced features, like industry-leading M.2 SATA and M.2 PCIe/NVME solid state drives, provide data transfer speeds up to 4x faster over traditional hard drivers. "
In order to get the drive visible and running on PCIe I had to disable the sata controller in the BIOS.This way the drive is detected in Windows as an PCIe NVME capable drive.
Just to verify if the issues I went back to default with the delivered 256Gb M.2 sata drive and 8Gb RAM.To install Windows I had to turn the Sata controller back on.
Installed the drivers manually updated WIndows and tested. The issues do NOT occur.
Retested by installing the drivers using the Dell Update Application. The issues do NOT occur.
So I figured out that the SATA controller somehow is the guilty part for all the issues.I mean when enabled to ACHI or RAID the sleep and non... Read more
