HD audio driver fixed-no output audio installed

Q: HD audio driver fixed-no output audio installed

hello everyone:

i looked in on seven forums trying to find a fix for my driver problem, a lot of friends here were helpfull, i like to give back a little even if my pc is working fine now.

my pc is a desktop running windows 7 pro, motherboard esc a780gm-a, i had a problem with my hd audio driver, under my control panel audio device i only could see "no audio device installed" even when i installed it 10 times, i also saw on my right conner "no audio output installed"

i had a logitech camera installed.

the fix:
i found that my logitech camera was somehow in conflict with my audio device, it kep telling me "communication mic ???" something like that, well after uninstall the logitech camera software my audio came back and its now working perfect.

i hope this helps.

check if you have a camera with a built in mic, this might be your problem.
thank you all.

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium on my Dell Inspiron E1505.

I have had no problems with it for several years; however, recently my computer has booted with a red 'X' on my audio and tells me that "No Audio Output Device is Installed." I checked my Drivers and my High Definition Sound and 2 Base System Device drivers have Yellow Question Marks by them. I tried to update the drivers manually but it says Windows Cannot Find Support for your Base System Device and it says my High Definition Audio is already up to date. I have also tried uninstalling the drivers and rebooting Windows to let the system automatically search and update the drivers. This too has failed. I do not have my Windows 7 disc available at the moment to be able to do a clean install.

Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Guys,

About a month ago i had my new dell XPS 17' (L702x) Laptop Delivered.
After a few days (and many driver & software updates) i started to get a "stuttering" problem while listening to music/ watching videos etc. Also Noticed the computer being quite laggy (mouse cursor would skip around from time to time when moving it).

So i decided to do a reformat, free of all the useless dell addons etc.

- Successfully Reinstalled Windows 7 Professional Service Pack 1,

- Installed my basic drivers off the dell resource CD that came with the laptop.
-Intel PROSet Lan & WiFi Drivers,
-Realtek Audio Drivers,
-Nvidia Video Drivers,
-Renesus usb 3.0 host controller,
-Dell Quickset.

-Now that my network drivers were going, i downloaded and installed all relevant windows updates.

-Then, i installed the programs i commonly use:
-Zone Alarm Antivirus (from reading other forums McAfee may have been the cause of some of the issues i was having so i didn't want to re-install that just yet.)
-iTunes,
-vlc,
-Stereoscopic3D Player (yes, i got the 3D Screen + Nvidia Glasses upgrade )
-Magic Disk virtual disk drive
-winrar
-Microsoft office 2010 professional
-Steam & Origin (CS:S, CS:GO Beta, MW3, Crysis, BF3)

After doing all of this everything seemed to work fine. played music for hours without stuttering, watched a few movies, played a few gam... Read more

A:No Audio Output Driver Installed On System Startup/Reboot. HELP!

Too bad you did a disc reinstall, that invalidated the Dell recovery partition (accessed by F8 at power on) and you will not be able to use that for reinstalls if needed.

The Soundblaster could be a software enhancement to the RealTek as Dell has used this on some systems or it could have just been a mistake. You can look at the Dell invoice and see what came with the PC.

Did you try a System Restore back to a date prior to installing the SoundBlaster software? If not give that a try.

Back to the stuttering. That can be a driver issue (make sure you use the Dell supplied sound driver as we have found, on the Dell forum, that non Dell drivers either do not work or do not work correctly). You can check the Dell downloads to see if there is an updated driver.

You can look over the Dell manual install instructions, too, in case something was skipped during the install.

No sound.
Little speaker with the red 'x' appeared yesterday
I have gone through the whole update drivers circus to no avail, my laptop can't detect that it has speakers built in so it doesn't bother finding a driver for them.

This is where I am at:
- Intel Display Audio is the only driver installed for sound
- This means that sound works when the laptop is plugged into an HDMI
- When HDMI is not plugged in, the computer cannot find the built in speakers.
- I have Linux on this system and audio does not work there as well

I would call this a broken chipset, but the fact that the computer still processes audio with the HDMI cable attached is confusing me. Also, the 'audio board' for this laptop has 2 usb ports attached to it, and those both work fine.

Any help would be appreciated

Hello.

Im having the dreadful "No Audio Output Device is Installed" problem on my realtek audio.

It worked some months ago, but im in no position to do a roll back. Im sure the hardware is just fine, it works with Ubuntu.

The computer is a Dell Vostro 430.
My OS is win7 64bit.

I tried the newest Realtek driver suite, the recommended dell-drivers and some basic windows-drivers. Nothing makes the "No Audio Output Device is Installed" go away.

Any help is welcome.
Ive attached my sound-related reg. I believe my realtek device is 0001.

A:Realtek Audio: No Audio Output Device is Installed

The Dell driver is required, non Dell drivers will either not work or not work correctly.

First thing, is the Integrated Audio enabled in the BIOS? (F2 at boot up to enter Setup).

Second, on Dell's (and many others) if the motherboard chipset drivers were not installed, the sound device will not work. In this model there are Intel motherboard chipset drivers. Try installing them and then the Dell sound driver. Dell Drivers

I'm running a Dell XPS 420, which came with Windows Vista. I decided this morning that I was going to give Windows 7 a try, backed up some media on another PC, and did a completely fresh install.

Everything worked perfectly, I didn't even have to install any drivers. My native resolution was automatically correct, the sound worked, the internet worked, everything was dandy. It worked perfectly, and for the record, I really enjoyed it. I used it for several hours, getting used to the new features and whatnot.

I went to sleep for a few hours, and then went out for a while. When I came back, the sound had stopped working. It gave me no error at the time, it just didn't work. WinAmp wouldn't play my MP3s, Youtube videos were without audio, system sounds weren't playing, and yet, the volume was enabled and at an audible level of 67. My speakers were still connected properly, too.

I figured maybe a reboot was in order, and when I restarted, there was no sound still. Now, however, the speaker taskbar icon had a red x next to it, with the words "No Audio Output Device is installed." on the tooltip. I rebooted again and there was no change.

Using the Windows 7 trouble shooter, it says that "Hardware changes might not have been detected."

The odd thing is, this has happened to me before with Windows Vista. I wanted to perform a clean re-install of Vista, and when I did so, the sound worked perfectly for a few hours, before going out again. I would re-install Vi... Read more

A:Audio stops working, "No Audio Output Device Installed"

Hi filmtrauma, welcome to the forums.

While you have been asleep, Windows Update may have installed a new Sound driver for you which may have caused this error. Open Windows Update and click 'View Update History'....

You could try downloading the latest drivers from the hardware manufacturer, a lot are now supporting Windows 7 too..

Also, is your sound hardware plugged in (to the motherboard) securely? It's rare but i've dealt with some cases of hardware coming loose, might be worth a look. Another thing to check may be the temperature of the card, it may be getting overly hot due to a dust build up (might not be, i'm not 100% up-to-date on all sound hardware).

Hope this helps

I've spent countless hours trying to fix this. It started out with me wanting to enable the "stereo mix" option and so following a youtube video I proceeded to updating the driver using device manager > update driver and after restarting, I received this error.

I then downloaded the newest driver of the manufacturer website (realtek hd audio) realtek.com and installed it. Mind you, the stereo mix option did in fact show up, although I couldn't make use of any audio since I was getting the "no audio output device is installed" error.

All this time, I can still see the mic/line-in inputs, and headphone/speaker outputs in the sounds (control panel). I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling, and using the roll-back option for drivers. Although from control panel, I managed to uninstall the sound card software for realtek. Between all of this, after any sort of install or uninstall I also restarted my computer.

I downloaded the drivers from the HP site (PC manufacturer for my comp) and the Realtek site (sound card creator) and all of them are giving me the same results.

Furthermore, I even tried the System Restore and it wouldn't work complaining about an anti-virus when all of mine are already disabled. I checked what the System Restore would affect too and nothing for my driver was in there as far as I know.

I'm really not sure what my options are now, and it's sucks not having any sound.

Please help me out! Thanks!

Hello,My problem is this: I have an old  set of speakers such that the left speaker eventually stopped working.
Upon taking it apart, turns out the wire was just pulled away from the solder to the pins.I replaced the wire and it was good as new.
After a few months of use, (once in a while use) the left speaker "stopped" workingI later discovered that it still works, but is very very quiet.Such that, I have to set the right speaker balance to 9% and left to 100% to get the same volume from both speakers.I took it apart today, re-glued the wires back to the pins, no difference.
So I am wondering, with Dell Audio client, and my Dell xps 8700, which has a front and back 3.5mm audio jacks, can I set the balance to the front port to be my 100/9 for the speakers, and 100/100 for the back which connects to my headphones?
I took a look in the audio client, but it looks like no such option exists.Do I go looking for a new set of speakers or is there an easy option here?

A:Can you change the balance output on a specific audio jack output with Dell Audio?

I believe both jacks are controlled and connected to the same ports and software so directing one to do one thing and another to do something different isn't possible as far as I know.  Maybe someone will have a different answer, but I don't think Dell's software is advanced enough.

hello all. recently i've incountered an audio driver issue. i have an ALC 888 soundcard from Realtek. one day i left my computer on overnight charging my phone via usb. when i turned the screen on, the volume icon on the bottom right had a red cross on it and i couldnt run anything audio related including itunes..... i googled a ton and couldnt come to a solution. i tried updating, uninstalling, reinstalling, drivers.
at first, when i went to device manager, instead of seeing 'Realtek High Definition Audio Output' (which i think is supposed to say), i saw 2 listed. it was 'high quality bluetooth audio' and 'bluetooth audio' i managed to update the drivers manually, by making it browse my C: drive. everything worked as it should and the icon on the bottom right was corrected. but my speaker and earphones wouldnt work. my itunes and audio related files were running correctly at this point with no errors; just no output. so i uninstalled both bluetooth highquality audio devices and deleted the update file for it that was in my C: drive. as of now, when i go to device manager, there is no 'sound, video, blah blah' option. and the red cross is BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! please help

A:No Audio Output Device Is Installed

I found that several HP owners whose computers I service have issues with the "correct" driver from HP's site doesn't work. The error you are getting means that the driver is not compatible, so you will need to find either a previous version of the driver for you Dv9700, or you will have to fool around with drivers of other HP models close to your model number. That worked for me many times.

By the way, are you downloading the correct driver for your version of Vista?

Like everyone, I had windows 7 (32-bit) working perfectly when I did a fresh install. Originally, I had Windows Vista on this laptop, but I converted to 7 as son as I got the chance. In fact, a few of my mic driver problems with the RC were solved with this new one. Anyway, I ran my antivirus (Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware), and it identified 4 trouble spots. I trusted its judgement, I rebooted, but I came back with no audio whatsoever. I hover my mouse over the speaker icon in the tray, and all it says is "No Audio Output Device is installed." I try to troubleshoot it, I click on it, and it offers to download the specific driver. I downloaded it, installed it and rebooted, several times, and I still come back with no audio at all.

A:No Audio Output Device Installed

You should have checked the Dell website for the driver situation before going ahead with the OS upgrade.
Dell doesn't support Windows Vista on the Dimension 4550 (no compatible drivers) and only Dell has the correct drivers for Dell computer's.

As it's not a laptop you can fit a sound-card into a the AGP or PCI expansion slot. It will be supplied with Vista drivers on a CD if you buy one in a retail box and not a bare OEM one. You're just fortunate it's not a laptop as they don't have expansion slots.

Hi,
I've been having an on-off problem with my Vista 32-bit computer for about a year now. It happened after I changed the language system locale on my computer from English (UK) to English (US); changing it back to English (UK) didn't solve the issue.
The problem is, sometimes the audio won't work and I get the 'No Audio Output Device Is Installed' message over my speaker icon. I haven't got a clue why the problem isn't constant, sometimes when I switch on the computer the sound is fine, and other times, it isn't working. There have been loads periods where the sound works fine for months so I assume the problem has fixed itself, but then the audio doesn't work again one day.

The problem seems to have come back again now and has been happening on-off for about a month now. I tried reinstalling SoundMAX when the audio was working yesterday (it never allowed me to install it when the audio was off) and managed to get it installed. I thought this would solve the issue, but today I turned on the computer and the sound was dead again, accompanied by a message that said something along the lines of 'Your audio configuration has changed, you must reinstall SoundMAX'. I tried doing that, but it says the files don't support my computer.

I should also note that I've tried most of the solutions on google, like going into device manger and enabling the sound drive, but the 'Sound, Video and Game Controllers' t... Read more

A:No Audio Output Device Is Installed

When the problem occurs, check Device Manager and see if the audio chipset is listed. If it's listed, it could simply be a driver issue. Try updating/reinstalling the audio drivers. If it's not listed, most likely it's a hardware fault (ie: faulty audio chipset). The language change is likely just a coincidence.

I have a Gateway MX6426 laptop. I upgraded, (new install), from W$ xp to W$ Vista. I mouse over the speaker icon, which has an X through it, it states, "no audio output device is installed". I'm certain that this is a driver issue. When I look in the device manager, I have no directory listing for "sound, video and game controllers". In listing labeled, "other devices", the Mass Storage Controller, and the Multimedia Audio Controller are listed with no driver, (a yellow exclamation point).
I have looked for updated drivers, and found out about the missing sound folder while I was searching.
Also, I went into regedit, on my desktop, and exported the sound files from there, (same OS), copied to thumb, installed on gateway, hoping to create the directory. NOPE
I dont know what else to do, HELPMEPLEEZ.
Thank you,
Billy

After following directions to fix my sound from these two sites:

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us...n-device/35236d31-b181-4e35-b001-bfce1788ddc6
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us...eac-4566-867a-98d2761a770d/fix-sound-problems

I sought help from my manufacturer. As expected, the only help they could provide was to tell me to re-install realtek hd audio device, and if all else fails factory reset my computer. After resetting my computer (3 times..) the problem was still not solved. My only option from there was to have it inspected for physical damages and send it in so that they could fix it. This, however, is not an option for me. I searched more for a solution by myself and read more forums and articles like these two:

http://www.techspot.com/community/topics/cannot-find-realtek-in-my-device-manager.188563/
http://www.solvusoft.com/en/errors/...corporation/windows-operating-system/code-45/

Sadly, I am nowhere close to solving this issue. I am posting here in the hopes that someone can help me with this problem.

I have a dv7-7270ca notebook and since a restart due to windows 8 updates I now have a red x on the speaker icon.  I installed the HP driver for this model but it has an error in device manager that says:Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)Any help with fixing this would be greatly appreciated.  I did run an audio test using the shut down-F2 and passed and could hear the sounds in the test.  Thank You!!

I've managed to find the way to boot Windows 8 without requiring valid digital signatures (error code 52).  Seems the HP IDT High Definition Audio CODEC is not in compliance with Microsoft... interesting in itself, but until there is a new updated driver available this is what I have to do every time I boot the computer to have my sound back... a bit of a pain but when lWindows is loaded follow these steps. * Go to PC Settings - General - Scroll down to Advanced Start Up - Troubleshoot - Advanced Options - Start Up Settings - on the next screen use 7 or F7 to Disable Device Signature Enforcement Love having my sound back, just a shame HP couldn't help.  Hope this helps some of you experiencing the same problem as me.

For a while now(speaking in month terms), my sound would be working just fine. But sometimes when I put it into hibernate(for the night) and turn it back on, my speaker icon would have a red X over it. The only way this goes away is if I leave the computer off for a long time or, spam restarts(lol). What can be the problem here? My guess is that it's getting old or something. Sometimes, the sound works again at random times. When that happens I try to leave the laptop on since shutting it off in away way gets rid of it. But while it was on for a few days, the sound went away without notice.

Also, when I try to find it in the device manager, it doesn't show up. It can't even detect it either.

My laptop is an HP pavilion dv2610 btw

A:No audio output device is installed...

Apparently, I just fixed it. What I did was run Windows Startup Repair. But it took too long so tried to cancel it. But since it didn't let me cancel, I just forcefully shut down my laptop(holding the button) and restarted, which led to my sound working.

Hello, I have owned a Compaq Presario SR5710Y Desktop PC for quite some time now with no issues. Recently however, the audio has stopped working. It occurred with no clear signs or reason, i.e. no power outage, new software installation, etc.   I have thoroughly tried to troubleshoot the problem with every solution guide I have found concerning this issue (feel free to ask more but most likely I have done it). Sadly, I have never kept system restore points so that was out of the question. I have done a factory reset also to no avail.  There are some specific details that seem to be specific to my case however. In my first attempts to troubleshoot, I simply uninstalled all my drivers (by removing from programs and uninstalling from device manager) and then restarted  my computer in hopes that Windows would reinstall the original sound drivers. No such instance happened. There was simply no driver in the device manager or even a tab for "Sound, video and game controllers"  Similarly, when I attempted to install either the latest sound driver directly from the  manufacturer site (Realtek) or the original driver (found on the HP product page), upon restart the driver would not appear in the device manager (again there was not even a tab for "Sound, video and game controllers"). Using Recovery Manager to reinstall the driver also had the same result upon restarting. When installing in all these cases there were no failures. Th... Read more

Ok, so here' s my problem:
I got an Acer ASPIRE 5520G, i got it this year in April.
It has Windows Vista Home Premium.
One day, some automatic updates were installed (dont ask me whose cuz i really dunno). Then i restarted my laptop to make that updates installed... They have normally installed and my laptop restarted again, as always. Then before Windows started, some window Startup Repair started. It repaired something (i hope so). Then my laptop was able to start at normal... BUT WITH NO SOUND!!! On system try it writes ''No Audio Output Device is installed''. I went to a lot of forums but didnt find any solution for this. I have Realtek High Definition Audio installed. When i go to device manager it writes:
Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39).
When i go to check for solutions and details it writes:
Description:
Windows was able to successfully install device driver software, but the driver software encountered a problem when it tried to run. The problem code is 39.

Files that help describe the problem:
C:\Users\Zadro\AppData\Local\Temp\DMI5C14.tmp.log.xml
C:\Windows\inf\hdaudbus.inf
Any help would be really appreciated, but have on mind that i'm no some Computer Wizard. Thx in forward!!!

Hello, I have exactly this problem :
No audio devices are installed
and in the end they say "to make sure that the power service is started and set to automatique", now my question: where ??? is this option to put the power service to automatique??? where can I find this in my Labtop?? Please step by step so I can find it. Thank you very much for your help ))

A:no audio output device is installed

They are talking about the services in windows and they can be found by typing services.msc after hitting the start key on your keyboard. like my pic below but I don't know what specific power one they are talking about. Do you have any that are named similar that are disabled? If it is the one I show make it set to automatic and reboot.

Ok so I have read the other threads on the other "No Audio Output Device Installed" and none of them really apply because I have a unique case. I recently reformatted my hard drive, and when I went to re install Windows XP (the one that came with my computer) it wouldn't read the CD for some odd reason, and would get stuck on a screen, anyways I got around it with using the Windows Vista upgrade I bought, and found another product key for it. The downfall to that is I don't have the audio drivers installed. I have the CD for it but when I put it in it says that I don't have and Sounblaster Live hardware installed. Help?

if your machine has "on board sound" then you need the mother board make and model go to the web site for the (manufacturer) search for particular software that supports the mother board sound chip set. see if vista is supported..
other wise purchase a sound card that is supported by vista.

See whether you can find the audio driver for your model PC on the HP website. Else go to the website of your sound device manufacturer. If you don`t know what this is, type msinfo32 into the start/search field and hit Enter. Then expand "Components" and go to "Sound Device". That should tell you the manufacturer.

so i just got internet to my computer after almost 2 years of it being out of comission, it still worked and we were able to play games like solitaire and the sims but there was no internet hooked up to it. it installed all kinds of updates and one night i was listening to music via wmp and the next day i went to listen and it said "no audio output device is installed"

i tried updating the device and it said that my driver was up to date.
i also tried uninstalling it and rebooting my computer and that didn't work.
i don't see any error messages in the device manager, i clicked the icon with the little magnifying glass and nothing showed up.

i don't know what else i can do, besides take my computer and throw it into traffic.
i have alot of music on this computer that i listen to on a daily basis and would hate to have to switch it all to a new computer, or even buy a new computer for that matter just because my speakers aren't working.

they're realtek high definition audio btw, that seems like something i should prolly mention.

can someone please try and help me?
thank you.
