HD audio driver fixed-no output audio installed

Q: HD audio driver fixed-no output audio installed

hello everyone:

i looked in on seven forums trying to find a fix for my driver problem, a lot of friends here were helpfull, i like to give back a little even if my pc is working fine now.

my pc is a desktop running windows 7 pro, motherboard esc a780gm-a, i had a problem with my hd audio driver, under my control panel audio device i only could see "no audio device installed" even when i installed it 10 times, i also saw on my right conner "no audio output installed"

i had a logitech camera installed.

the fix:
i found that my logitech camera was somehow in conflict with my audio device, it kep telling me "communication mic ???" something like that, well after uninstall the logitech camera software my audio came back and its now working perfect.

i hope this helps.

check if you have a camera with a built in mic, this might be your problem.
thank you all.

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium on my Dell Inspiron E1505.

I have had no problems with it for several years; however, recently my computer has booted with a red 'X' on my audio and tells me that "No Audio Output Device is Installed." I checked my Drivers and my High Definition Sound and 2 Base System Device drivers have Yellow Question Marks by them. I tried to update the drivers manually but it says Windows Cannot Find Support for your Base System Device and it says my High Definition Audio is already up to date. I have also tried uninstalling the drivers and rebooting Windows to let the system automatically search and update the drivers. This too has failed. I do not have my Windows 7 disc available at the moment to be able to do a clean install.

Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Guys,

About a month ago i had my new dell XPS 17' (L702x) Laptop Delivered.
After a few days (and many driver & software updates) i started to get a "stuttering" problem while listening to music/ watching videos etc. Also Noticed the computer being quite laggy (mouse cursor would skip around from time to time when moving it).

So i decided to do a reformat, free of all the useless dell addons etc.

- Successfully Reinstalled Windows 7 Professional Service Pack 1,

- Installed my basic drivers off the dell resource CD that came with the laptop.
-Intel PROSet Lan & WiFi Drivers,
-Realtek Audio Drivers,
-Nvidia Video Drivers,
-Renesus usb 3.0 host controller,
-Dell Quickset.

-Now that my network drivers were going, i downloaded and installed all relevant windows updates.

-Then, i installed the programs i commonly use:
-Zone Alarm Antivirus (from reading other forums McAfee may have been the cause of some of the issues i was having so i didn't want to re-install that just yet.)
-iTunes,
-vlc,
-Stereoscopic3D Player (yes, i got the 3D Screen + Nvidia Glasses upgrade )
-Magic Disk virtual disk drive
-winrar
-Microsoft office 2010 professional
-Steam & Origin (CS:S, CS:GO Beta, MW3, Crysis, BF3)

After doing all of this everything seemed to work fine. played music for hours without stuttering, watched a few movies, played a few gam... Read more

A:No Audio Output Driver Installed On System Startup/Reboot. HELP!

Too bad you did a disc reinstall, that invalidated the Dell recovery partition (accessed by F8 at power on) and you will not be able to use that for reinstalls if needed.

The Soundblaster could be a software enhancement to the RealTek as Dell has used this on some systems or it could have just been a mistake. You can look at the Dell invoice and see what came with the PC.

Did you try a System Restore back to a date prior to installing the SoundBlaster software? If not give that a try.

Back to the stuttering. That can be a driver issue (make sure you use the Dell supplied sound driver as we have found, on the Dell forum, that non Dell drivers either do not work or do not work correctly). You can check the Dell downloads to see if there is an updated driver.

You can look over the Dell manual install instructions, too, in case something was skipped during the install.

No sound.
Little speaker with the red 'x' appeared yesterday
I have gone through the whole update drivers circus to no avail, my laptop can't detect that it has speakers built in so it doesn't bother finding a driver for them.

This is where I am at:
- Intel Display Audio is the only driver installed for sound
- This means that sound works when the laptop is plugged into an HDMI
- When HDMI is not plugged in, the computer cannot find the built in speakers.
- I have Linux on this system and audio does not work there as well

I would call this a broken chipset, but the fact that the computer still processes audio with the HDMI cable attached is confusing me. Also, the 'audio board' for this laptop has 2 usb ports attached to it, and those both work fine.

Any help would be appreciated

Hello.

Im having the dreadful "No Audio Output Device is Installed" problem on my realtek audio.

It worked some months ago, but im in no position to do a roll back. Im sure the hardware is just fine, it works with Ubuntu.

The computer is a Dell Vostro 430.
My OS is win7 64bit.

I tried the newest Realtek driver suite, the recommended dell-drivers and some basic windows-drivers. Nothing makes the "No Audio Output Device is Installed" go away.

Any help is welcome.
Ive attached my sound-related reg. I believe my realtek device is 0001.

A:Realtek Audio: No Audio Output Device is Installed

The Dell driver is required, non Dell drivers will either not work or not work correctly.

First thing, is the Integrated Audio enabled in the BIOS? (F2 at boot up to enter Setup).

Second, on Dell's (and many others) if the motherboard chipset drivers were not installed, the sound device will not work. In this model there are Intel motherboard chipset drivers. Try installing them and then the Dell sound driver. Dell Drivers

I'm running a Dell XPS 420, which came with Windows Vista. I decided this morning that I was going to give Windows 7 a try, backed up some media on another PC, and did a completely fresh install.

Everything worked perfectly, I didn't even have to install any drivers. My native resolution was automatically correct, the sound worked, the internet worked, everything was dandy. It worked perfectly, and for the record, I really enjoyed it. I used it for several hours, getting used to the new features and whatnot.

I went to sleep for a few hours, and then went out for a while. When I came back, the sound had stopped working. It gave me no error at the time, it just didn't work. WinAmp wouldn't play my MP3s, Youtube videos were without audio, system sounds weren't playing, and yet, the volume was enabled and at an audible level of 67. My speakers were still connected properly, too.

I figured maybe a reboot was in order, and when I restarted, there was no sound still. Now, however, the speaker taskbar icon had a red x next to it, with the words "No Audio Output Device is installed." on the tooltip. I rebooted again and there was no change.

Using the Windows 7 trouble shooter, it says that "Hardware changes might not have been detected."

The odd thing is, this has happened to me before with Windows Vista. I wanted to perform a clean re-install of Vista, and when I did so, the sound worked perfectly for a few hours, before going out again. I would re-install Vi... Read more

A:Audio stops working, "No Audio Output Device Installed"

Hi filmtrauma, welcome to the forums.

While you have been asleep, Windows Update may have installed a new Sound driver for you which may have caused this error. Open Windows Update and click 'View Update History'....

You could try downloading the latest drivers from the hardware manufacturer, a lot are now supporting Windows 7 too..

Also, is your sound hardware plugged in (to the motherboard) securely? It's rare but i've dealt with some cases of hardware coming loose, might be worth a look. Another thing to check may be the temperature of the card, it may be getting overly hot due to a dust build up (might not be, i'm not 100% up-to-date on all sound hardware).

Hope this helps

I've spent countless hours trying to fix this. It started out with me wanting to enable the "stereo mix" option and so following a youtube video I proceeded to updating the driver using device manager > update driver and after restarting, I received this error.

I then downloaded the newest driver of the manufacturer website (realtek hd audio) realtek.com and installed it. Mind you, the stereo mix option did in fact show up, although I couldn't make use of any audio since I was getting the "no audio output device is installed" error.

All this time, I can still see the mic/line-in inputs, and headphone/speaker outputs in the sounds (control panel). I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling, and using the roll-back option for drivers. Although from control panel, I managed to uninstall the sound card software for realtek. Between all of this, after any sort of install or uninstall I also restarted my computer.

I downloaded the drivers from the HP site (PC manufacturer for my comp) and the Realtek site (sound card creator) and all of them are giving me the same results.

Furthermore, I even tried the System Restore and it wouldn't work complaining about an anti-virus when all of mine are already disabled. I checked what the System Restore would affect too and nothing for my driver was in there as far as I know.

I'm really not sure what my options are now, and it's sucks not having any sound.

Please help me out! Thanks!

Hello,My problem is this: I have an old  set of speakers such that the left speaker eventually stopped working.
Upon taking it apart, turns out the wire was just pulled away from the solder to the pins.I replaced the wire and it was good as new.
After a few months of use, (once in a while use) the left speaker "stopped" workingI later discovered that it still works, but is very very quiet.Such that, I have to set the right speaker balance to 9% and left to 100% to get the same volume from both speakers.I took it apart today, re-glued the wires back to the pins, no difference.
So I am wondering, with Dell Audio client, and my Dell xps 8700, which has a front and back 3.5mm audio jacks, can I set the balance to the front port to be my 100/9 for the speakers, and 100/100 for the back which connects to my headphones?
I took a look in the audio client, but it looks like no such option exists.Do I go looking for a new set of speakers or is there an easy option here?

A:Can you change the balance output on a specific audio jack output with Dell Audio?

I believe both jacks are controlled and connected to the same ports and software so directing one to do one thing and another to do something different isn't possible as far as I know.  Maybe someone will have a different answer, but I don't think Dell's software is advanced enough.

My HP laptop is having a very vexing issue with audio. When you hover over the speaker icon in the bottom right corner, it displays the message "No Audio Output Device is installed". I have spent an aggravating amount of time trying to fix the
issue. I have been on many different forums and followed the advice. I finally chose to follow the HP Support forum. Here is a summary of what has happened so far:

1) I ran the sound problems troubleshooter, first by simply right-clicking the speaker icon and second by opening it from the actual settings. Neither showed any results for possible fixes.

2) I found my way to the Device Manager, as suggested by various forums, and went to the Sound, video, and game controllers drop down. Unlike in the examples shown in the forums, there was only one item under the drop down, named something along the lines
of Intel Audio. There was another drop down simply entitled Other devices that listed "Intel High Definition Audio". Twice. This one had the yellow triangle with a black exclamation mark in it.

3) I used the "Search automatically for updated driver software" for both options, because I wasn't sure which was the correct one. For the one under Other devices (aka Intel High Definition Audio), the message said Windows was unable to install
it. For the second (the one under Sound, video and game controllers), it said that the best devices were already on the computer.

4) I moved on to uninstallin... Read more

Morning all. I'm hoping someone out there will be able to assist me, first a little back story. I recently bought a Dell Latitude E5520 laptop running Windows 7, 64-Bit, 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD.
I received the laptop on Wednesday last week. The first thing I did was to update Windows and all the Dell Software. The laptop was working well without any problems. However earlier this week, when I tried to watch a video on YouTube, only to find there was no sound. Upon further investigation I found the speaker icon is shown with a Red "X", and when I hover the mouse over it,  a message of "No Audio Output Device Installed" would appear. This has only happened within the last few days because I watched some football on the laptop at the weekend using the internal speakers for match commentary. As far as I'm aware there's been no software installed that would have lead to this problem.
Working with computers a lot, I know my way around, so I then went to Device Manager to look for any faults. I looked under the "Sound, Video and Game Controllers" and found only Bluetooth Audio was listed, which I thought was a little strange. However under the "System Devices" section I found that the HD Multimedia Audio Device had a yellow exclamation mark over it. Selecting it revealed it had failed to start (Code 10). Suspecting this was the root of my problem, I tried to Update the Driver. After a while of checking online, the messag... Read more

I have looked for updated drivers, and found out about the missing sound folder while I was searching.

I tried installing Realtek HD and the AC '97 with no luck.I used the program HWinfo32 to figure out my audio adapter, but it says unknown or none.

After my latest Windows Vista update, my audio stopped working on my laptop. I have tried to reinstall the drivers, and it will not work because my computer can not detect the audio devise, and I have looked at devise manager and I do not see any options for audio. I have tried using restore points and have even tried using the laptops ability to reinstall original factory settings. I have not tried using my restore disk, because my computer also does not recognize my dvd/cd rom. Am I screwed or what?

Read more

The audio stopped working when I tried a fix to a Blue Screen problem one of the users on this site gave me! Well, I'll tell you something...I would rather get blue screens once in a while than never have sound!

Now since it appears to be this forum's fault, this forum should be able to help me fix the problem!

EDIT: Before you ask, I already tried using System Restore. Several times.

A:No audio output device installed???

Have you tried finding the drivers for your sound card, and TV tuner?

Also can you post a screen shot of your actual Device Manager?

Hello all I have a HP Pavilion g6 laptop running Windows 7.Back in May upon starting my computer a red X appeared over my sound icon. I figured something was wrong but couldn't find what it was, so I did a system restore. Tada everything was fine. That would work for a few days then the red X was back. Eventually the restore day that I was able to set it to was no longer available and here it is a day from August and I still have no speakers. I looked in the Device Manager and there are yellow triangles over the High Definition Audio Controllers and the Composite BUS Enumerator. The Audio controller has a message in the device status that says "Window cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged or that might be malicious software from an unknown source". I haven't the slightest clue as to what happened. The only thing I can remember happening before the change was a Windows update. Please help. Thanx in advance

A:Help !!!! No Audio Output Device installed

G'day Aisha, and Welcome to BC.

Go to device manager and Uninstall the items which have yellow triangles beside them. (right click, select uninstall, then confirm)

Then reboot.

If the gods are smiling today then windows should install new drivers where necessary, automatically.

After following directions to fix my sound from these two sites:

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us...n-device/35236d31-b181-4e35-b001-bfce1788ddc6
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us...eac-4566-867a-98d2761a770d/fix-sound-problems

I sought help from my manufacturer. As expected, the only help they could provide was to tell me to re-install realtek hd audio device, and if all else fails factory reset my computer. After resetting my computer (3 times..) the problem was still not solved. My only option from there was to have it inspected for physical damages and send it in so that they could fix it. This, however, is not an option for me. I searched more for a solution by myself and read more forums and articles like these two:

http://www.techspot.com/community/topics/cannot-find-realtek-in-my-device-manager.188563/
http://www.solvusoft.com/en/errors/...corporation/windows-operating-system/code-45/

Sadly, I am nowhere close to solving this issue. I am posting here in the hopes that someone can help me with this problem.

Hey .. I have a laptop and have a problem with my audio...
My laptop is an Acer 7520, and I have Windows 7 64-Bit installed.
Before continuing please read this thread since it describes my problem
http://forums.techguy.org/windows-7/903660-help-no-audio-output-device.html

I did the same things that guy tried..I mean ..I did everything possible to get the sound back.
I'm sure the Hardware is OK because sometimes the Audio starts working and when I restart it stops.
I don't want to format because I have very important stuff and can't copy them to anywhere ..
I also asked Acer and they meant that they can't answer because the original Windows ist Vista and I have
installed Windows 7.

Thanks for any help!

Hello,

I have tried following other suggestions on other threads, but to no avail. I have a Toshiba Satellite U405/Windows Vista 64. The sound stopped working a couple weeks back and it seems there are no longer any device drivers even listed for sound.

I have tried going into BIOS, but there is nothing listed for audio that is changeable. I have tried reinstalling the audio driver (conexant) but it comes up with an error message (driver installation failed, could not find the media device for this driver). I have also tried reinstalling the driver for the chipset, but same message.

I have also tried to get the mfg name of the motherboard via Everest, but it comes up as unknown.

The device manager list not longer has a sub-listing for sound, but there is a yellow flag next to 6T04 Adapter (Network Adapter).

Any suggestions for how to deal with this would be appreciated.
Thanks!

HALLLPPP! Ok, so I mananaged to get my Old HP PSC 500 to work on my HP Pavillion a6030n with VISTA... gave up on the scanning part totally. Bought and installed a new I/O card to do this and tinkered for days!

NOW, I realize I have NO SOUND... searched all of the threads and experimented with various and sundry but to no avail. The speakers were old JBL PROs had been working... changed them out for some old BOSTON speakers (also working on old Gateway) still getting the "No Audio Output Device Installed" and don't even get a "Sound and Video" portion in Device Manager!

Tried downloading Realtek AC97-Audio-Codec-driver-A397 as it was mentioned as a fix in another thread. No joy! Will installing another driver help this? I can't see why the card would be damaged as the previous install didn't go near it.

I am not a total novice but small words would be helpful as my brainmatter is fried and not a lot of hair left on the head.

You may need to upgrade your drivers. You can also run the sound diagnostics page to help pinpoint what the issue may be: http://support.microsoft.com/mats/no_sound/en-us

Hello,

Can anyone help me get my onboard sound to work? Newly put together computer, and after trying drivers on CD, on Gigabyte home page, and newly posted 2.54 from Realtek site, I still have no sound. Ive tried everything I can think of driver wise, toggled BIOS option for Azalia codec off/on, even did a clean fresh install of Windows 7.

Device Manager/Sound tells me no audio device is installed, under control panel/sound video and game, the only thing listed is Nvidea HD Audio, from when I installed video drivers. Any advice Id be willing to try anything at this point.

Thanks for your help.
Regards.

Motherboard is Gigabyte X58-USB3
running Windows 7 64 Home Premium

A:No Audio Output Device is Installed

You tried a lot of things. Even went to Realtek for latest driver, as the latest driver on Gigabyte is 2.51.

So under device manager, you do not have ANY yellow exclamation marks?
