I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

I bought my T470 a month ago with "3 Years Onsite Next Business Day" warranty. And recenty I noticed there's some problem with my screen, so I called Lenovo. And I've already got the new screen they sent to me.Here is the problem: THE TECHNICIAN NEVER CAME!!! And they keep on saying they will come to fix my laptop "tomorrow", and I can't even remember how many "tomorrow"s have passed!!! What's worse, they would never call to tell you they are not coming on that day, so you need to call again and ask, and they will say they will come "tomorrow", and then they are not coming, and you need to call again. Hi , I have Lenovo Z 580 Ideapad. For 4 years , I never faced any major issue regarding my laptop . 3 months back its fan stopped working. So i visited an authorized service centre located at Gurugram. Since my laptop is out of warranty , they told me that the fan need to be replaced and charges will be applied. They said that they will order the part and let me know when my laptop will be ready . Few days back, they called me and asked me to pickup my laptop.I went there and checked my laptop , its fan was working . I paid the full amount. They gave me the receipt But they didn't provide me the Fan's warranty card or anywhere the warranty was mentioned in the receipt. They didn't even told me when the warranty of the Fan they replaced , was gonna expire. I trusted them , thus I didn't argue that time.But now after 2 & half months , the Fan stopped working again . I went again and showed them my laptop. Now they are saying that the Fan panel need to be changed again & since the Fan's warranty is expired , I have to pay the full charges again. They are **bleep**ing kidding me . I am so angry at them right now . I have serious doubt that they played me . They just resolved some minor issue but charged me the full amount of Fan in the first place . & now they are doing the same thing again. They are **bleep**ing mischief. worst experiance from  PROMPT DATA PRODUCTS PVT LTD,  mumbai 400072. my laptop having a problem in ethernet port and hinge problem. so i had gone to the above service centre, the details of which i had obtained fom hp website. they charged me a service charge of rs750. they were not able to repair those two. while they are giveing back some rows of laptop keyboard also not working. and they told that it was not working whil im giving to them. there was only one engineer in that service centre and he is irresponsible. he dont realize what he had done wrong. so i had taken my laptop back and give to other service centre. i replaced keyboard. then the same keys were not working in new laptop also. then they checked and they told there was a problem with some ic. the  stupid staff of  PROMPT DATA PRODUCTS done something wrong. now it costs me around 1400, to back my laptop to original condition. totally around 1300(service charge + transport charge)+1400(repairing keyboard ic) around 2800 rupees became waste because of worst hp service centre

To whom it may concern,I am writing to complain about the laptop( Lenovo Yoga 730-131IKB--Serial no. MP1DW0F4). I have bought this laptop last August, but the laptop still kept broken in different parts,and I could not take it anymore. It is because it takes around 1 week to get it fixed. At first, I had a screen flashing problem at the 8th day of my purchase. The Lenovo in Thailand refused to give me a new one as it was more than 7 days. However, this problem got resolved ,but it took 7 days to fix. Second time was that the keyboard was fallen off and I got an on site service to repaire it. The worst is this time which is the third time of repairing. The driver was broken on the 21 of November 2018. All data could not be backed up and I have tons of crucial info inside. I would like you to suggest me some solutions or consider these options 1) change me the new laptop or 2) let me return this one and buy another model that works properly or 3) refund me some money for the day that I was not unable to use the laptop. I also had to pay for the screen protector for everytime that I sent my laptop to fix. I did not mean to be rude;however, this showed that the laptop I bought failed to  work efficiently and there must be some deficits in it. Hi everyone I wanted to ask for your opinion of what should I do next. The LCD on my Yoga 520-14" started to flicker and to blink few month ago,I went to the local Lenovo service center to get it checked since it is under warranty,And they fixed it, stating that a faulty display cable caused the issue and it was replaced.Unfornetly as soon as I arrived home, I noticed a huge bright spot at the corner of the display which caused by blacklight bleeding.It was much more noticeable with a dark background but still visible with any image,ruining the image quality. Since it wasn't there before,I contacted the local service center and was told by them that the LCD was not installed correctly by the techniciansand I should send it back for them to fix it. This time I went there and spoke to the technician who told me that after they disassemble the display it is impossible to correctly install it again with out backlight bleeding, they will replace the LCD to a new one but unlikely this will fix the issue.When I received the notebook from the service center it was in much worse condition. Now the bright spots became much larger and on every corner, visible with any image that wasn't completely white. Also the LCD was installed loosely and emits cracking sound when pressed around the corners where it is loose. And I am afraid to use it in tablet mode since ... I have an H50-05 with a bad power supply and 2 weeks out of warranty.  My credit card company extends the warranty 1 year, but they need (and will pay for) a diagnosis from an authorized service center.    The Lenovo website says there is only one service center within 100 miles, but when I call that company they say they don't repair anything. Is there such a thing as an authorized service center, and how do I find one.

Hello all, my Yoga tab died 2 days ago.I have tried everything I could think but it simply gives no response.Even plugging the charger (which works) does not light up the charging light. Fortunatelly, my tablet is still in warranty (for 2 more months!). So I was trying to find out where to give the tablet for a repair. I live at Porto, Portugal. The website does not find any places. Any ideas? Thank youps: I have bought the tablet at Greece. Worst case scenario I can take it there in a month. I was hoping though to solve the problem earlier.

I have Alienware Laptop, Area-51 M17x ... I bought the system about 2 years ago from alienware UK and it was shipped to Saudi Arabia. Now I am having problems with heating and need some servicing. The service center that claims to be dell service center says that "it only services  the systems purchased from its shop" so I am clueless now. Anyone knows if there is any authorized service center in eastern region. I contacted Alienware UK and they regretted as the system is out of warranty.

It's been 6 years and you have still not received a response. I had the same question.
Now I realize that Dell does not care about its customers abroad. They've purposefully made it difficult for us to contact them. As far as I know they still do not have an authorized service center here in Riyadh, KSA. This is the last time I'll ever buy a dell product. Horrible support...

Bought this brand new in late February, started bluescreening in April which causes me to lose loads of work for university and various clients (I work in design.) Was deemed a hardware problem and Lenovo collected the laptop and "repaired" it before sending it back to me at the end of July. I've been using it sparingly since because I'm off uni and haven't needed it that much. But it's been really slow since I got it back. Then today it blue-screened on me again, exact same error code as last time and I can't find any email address for complaints or support. Totally at a loss about what to do as I go back to uni this week.

I had a Lenovo Y series. It had some problem and the laptop was given for repair. It has been 5 months and you guys have not yet fixed the same. The laptop was under warranty but the service centre told that it was physical damange and cannot be reapried under warranty but the same can be fixed if I am ready to bear the charges. Even after that the laptopn is not fixed. I have already lost 5 months of warranty because of you guys. Why do you people boast of your services if you cant provide any.  Should have never gone with Lenovo.Have mailed and escalated to may people at Len India and even they dont care to reply. Have been chasing them for the lst 3months.Guys either you need to do something or please dont fool people.Can youplease give se some contacts of higher mgmt at Len india so that i can directly talk to them.

Sorry to hear that you are having such difficulties.  It seems quite odd that Lenovo service would take 5 months to conclude that there is physical damage to the unit.   You are saying that you sent the system in 5 months ago and are just now being advised of status?
 
Please send me a private message with your contact information, and your system info - model and serial number, and your service case number.
 
I'd like to look into this and will help you escalate appropriately.

I am getting this error, whenever I try to connect to server from Hyper-V, I choose local server then I get this message

Check that the Virtual Machine Management service is running and that you are authorized to connect to the server.
In the services, I don't have this service... What should I do...?

A:Check that the Virtual Machine Management service is running and that you are authorized to connect to the server

Here is the solution
1-make sure turn on virtual platform on bios
2- from turn windows features on or off expand hyper-v and enable hyper-v platform (Must)
3- restart your machine it should be working without problem.

It's sad I've had to resort to the forums to try to get more light on this situation. It's absolutely atrocious what has occurred in this exchange between myself and Lenovo. On a model# 80E502XRCF the hard drive dies. The laptop is under warranty. The laptop is sent away for repair where they replace the hard drive. Should have been a piece of cake. Laptop comes back and has Windows 8 on it instead of Windows 10. To further this, Windows 8 isn't activated and will likely stop working in a couple days. Call Lenovo, they want me to pay for the factory recovery media to put Windows 10 back on. I refuse as this is Lenovo's problem. They blame the depot even though it's Lenovo's responsibility to manage the relationship with their authorized retailers. So now Lenovo won't help me and neither will the depot. Stellar service as always Lenovo. Stellar. Anyone have any suggestions short of throwing an in warranty laptop in the garbage and buying a different brand?

Over the past few months, I have repeatedly tried to unsubscribe from 'Breaking News Alert', an email Newsletter service provided by the 'Washington Post' newspaper, in the USA.

So far, I must have sent at least 200 requests, asking for the email service to be stopped. This has been done via an automatic link in each email which they call their 'Express[Sic] Unsubscribe Service', to washingtonpost.com.

Recently however, I have resorted to replying to their emails, by including terse unsubscribe request messages, directed at the 'Washington Post', and specifically addressed to the Desks of that newspaper's Ombudsman [who is actually a woman], the National [US] Editor, and the Foreign [rest of Mother Earth's Nations] Editor. The 'Breaking News Alert' is also included as part of the email.

So where does that get me? Absolutely nowhere!! Not a peep, nor a whimper......let alone any acknowledgement of my emails. The 'Breaking News Alert' is still being sent on an almost daily basis, and being directed immediately into my Junk Mail Folder. I am now sick and tired of this whole affair, and wish to be rid of this subscription, once and for all.

What I want to know is this......Is there some form of Federal Regulatory Authority in the USA that I can refer this saga to, as a matter of complaint? All I want is for the Washington Post ... Read more

My laptop's screen is Lenovo Y50-70 15.6 FHD IPS Samsung LTN156HL07.  It is broken in May 2016 and my laptop is under ADP. I submitted my laptop in Hi-tech informatics service centre in Hyderabad on May 18. I'm one week they got a screen that is TFT display.  So I complained that it is not the exact screen model of my laptop as TFT generally changes viewing angles but whereas IPS don't. So they returned the first screen they got. For the second time in another two weeks they called me and told that they got a screen in broken condition and they had to return it back and I should wait for another two weeks. But I didn't hear from them for three weeks. So I called them and went angry on them for not repairing my laptop and in one day I got a call from lenovo saying that they have ordered the screen from foreign as it is not available in India and the service centre will receive it by July 15. So I waited till July 15 and then called them to know whether it is repaired or not.  And now they are saying that they don't know even know the arrival time of the screen whether it is dispatched or not and they told that I have to wait for another two weeks.  What the he'll are they doing? They can't even repair my laptop for two months. They can't get the screen? I'm leaving hyderabad in one week to another state where I'm studying. This is the worst ever service I have ever seen. I purchased lenovo y500 (with nvidia 750m gpu) in May from US and had it delivered to my cousin's address in US who then brought it down to UK for me. Now I feel like I have made a terrible mistake buying lenovo product. The touchpad is jumping all around when I click, its is almost useless. Temperatrure goes up to 98/99 celsius while gaming, idle stays over 50. So I decided to send it to UK repair centre (supposedly Median repair centre), the collection process went smoth and my laptop was collected on 3rd of June, I was was told that the repair process should be done with in 10 working days but no Sir !!  it took over a month, ok so long story short got my laptop back 8th July and now its worse then before. Temperature still stays high at around 98 celsius mark, they didnt even check the touch pad and now its even worse. Also to make my life more miserable they broke the front face plate of DVD drive. I phoned them up the next day and I was told that their supervisor would call me soon. The next day I got a phone call from their supervisor explaining the reason why it took longer than expected because its a US version (the only difference between US and UK version is GPU and keyboard layout). All they needed was to replace the heatsink and the touchpad but NO instead they only replaced the fan which wasnt need at all. Like innumerable other Win10 users, I have been trying for quite a while to get broken apps and Cortana to work again, after the Anniversary 'update'. I've repeatedly tried sfc /scannow; DISM restorehealth; MS Repair tools; Windows troubleshooter; the infamous Powershell "Get-AppXPackage | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml", ad nauseum, with no luck at all.

Today, while Googling a somewhat different topic, I stumbled across a shareware program that actually FIXED Cortana, and ALL metro apps. It's called Windows Repair Free/Pro, from Tweaking.com. The free version is fully functional for repairing Windows problems; just follow all the directions exactly. The $20 Pro version just adds some performance and visual tweak options.

You have to run the repair tools twice; it took about 4-1/2 hours, total, on my system. On the first pass, when the repair tool was re-installing metro apps, several of the same errors appeared in the cmd box as with the above mentioned Powershell command line. After the required reboot into Safe Mode w/networking, the second pass returned no errors at all, and everything is working again.

If only I had found this program five or six weeks ago! I could have saved countless frustrating hours of beating my head against the scre... Read more

Lenovo is the manufacturer of their laptop motherboards which includes other brands like intel,nvidia,amd etc.. if a customer aproach lenovo service center in india with their laptop to servce all they do is,reinstall os for software issues, and replace,ram,harddisk or motherboard. Replacing hdd and other components are understandable. But nobody here can fix a motherboard issue ,are they lenovo trained technicians or are they just normal laptop servce center who got certified by lenovo to help their customer. I know lenovo dont give a sh about these forums or few number of customers sad reviews.But the guys who made these motherboard knows the components in it well and they have the equipments to test the hardware and find the exact fault. Why cant lenovo service center have that. You have a service center in every city just for name sake.  Please tell a genuine lenovo service center in india which is dedicated for lenovo and which has lenovo trained technicians with good hardware diagnostic equipments, next time instead of wasting time and money in my locale city i will go there to service my laptop.

Hi Everybody! This is probably the wrong place to be asking about this, but I haven´t succeeded in getting any answers from elsewhere, so I´m hoping you people can point me in the right direction... The thing is, I live in Chile, but my daughter is going to study in Brazil. We bought her a laptop in Chile, a HP 240 G5, tried it out upon purchase, and all seemed ok. Now, in Brazil, we turned it on , and found the screen keeps flickering on and off, in such a way that it is impossible to use. I have tried to contact the salespeople in Chile, but they just told us to look up HP´s page, but that has not been very helpful. The ideal thing would be to find an HP authorised maintenance person here in Rio, who could look at it, and hopefully mend it, without losing the manufacturer´s garantee. Any help would be sincerely appreciated! Thanks a lot Tristram

HiDespite thinking I was being protected by Ad-Aware and Norton I have recently been plagued by pop-ups and severe Windows slow-down. By reading and acting upon the brilliant information on these forums, I have removed Virtumonde and Command Service, amongst other things. I now get no pop-ups and the performance generally seems better. I would just like to make sure that there is nothing nasty still lurking!I now have Ad-Aware, Spybot, SuperAntiSpyware, Spyware Blaster and AVG installed. I have been soundless for two weeks now, I know what I did wrong and need help to fix it. I deleted the speakers in the sounds : playback settings so there are no speaker drivers anymore or at least I think that.. help me plz ( no it is not just disabled it is actually gone)

So, Vista with out service pack showed 4gigs of ram being only 3.25 before ( just like XP )

after service pack 1 install and reboot........it shows full 4 gigs now
well, that's kinda cool

Actually, does the OS use it, or does it only tell you that you have 4 GB, once you have SP1?
