New Acer Aspire Blue Screen shutdown & noise

Q: New Acer Aspire Blue Screen shutdown & noise

Am bringing the hijack file to post here. This laptop had a blue screen and very loud noise. It is a new mini acer aspire. After a reboot, she was working on it in webmail and it rebooted for no reason.
I did some cleanup work on it and ran this hijack in case you guys can see any cause that's still there. I was looking at that 020 line the winlogon notify..could this be the problem and how did it happen?

Preferred Solution: New Acer Aspire Blue Screen shutdown & noise

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: New Acer Aspire Blue Screen shutdown & noise

Hello -

This laptop had a blue screen and very loud noise.

Sounds like a hardware issue.

I don't see any sign of infection in that log, which is what this section of the forum focuses on. That said...your version of HijackThis is outdated. Furthermore...

We no longer use HijackThis as our initial analysis tool, as it's not nearly as detailed as the tools we do use.

I don't believe this is a malware caused issue. Had you not posted a HijackThis log in your Windows XP topic, you might have received more detailed assistance there. You may want to repost in that topic, and ask someone to remove the HijackThis log, and pursue non-malware troubleshooting for you...or create a new topic in the Hardware section, with no HijackThis log. All such logs get referred here.

As far as the missing file in the O20 line, I'm not sure how that would affect your machine. I have that file in more than one location, system32, system32\dllcache and ServicePackFiles\I386....Windows File Protection should have replaced it.

You might do a search on your system to see if it's another location, and copy it to System32. Otherwise, you way wish to run the System File Checker

Go to Start->Run and type in sfc /scannow and hit OK. Let it scan. If it finds any files missing/corrupted, it may ask for the Windows CD. Otherwise, it will auto-close after it's done.

If after all that, you think the machine is infected, due to other symptoms...

We want all our members to perform the steps outlined in the link I'll give you below, before posting for assistance. There's a sticky at the top of this forum, and a

Having problems with spyware and pop-ups? First Steps

link at the top of each page.

Please follow our pre-posting process outlined here:

After running through all the steps, you shall have a proper set of logs. Please post them in a new topic, as this one shall be closed.

If you have trouble with one of the steps, simply move on to the next one, and make note of it in your reply.

Please note that the Virus/Trojan/Spyware Help forum is extremely busy, and it may take a while to receive a reply.

My Acer Aspire is about 18 months old and I am encountering a problem for a few days now that had never happened before. Usually what happens is I'm playing a game and if I want to make a change in the screen resolution or if I do ctrl+alt+suppr the screen turns black and nothing works. The mouse pointer doesn't appear, the keyboard doesn't answer and my only solution is to force it off by pressing the power button for a few seconds and to turn it back on.I thought it was due to hard drive used at 100% but it seems not, and I really have no idea what it could be. The thing is I've noticed several problems of screen freezing and laptop being slower than usual right after I had installed Windows 10 (about 3 weeks ago). Could this be related?I really need help, please this laptop was already 1000$ I'm not buying a new one so soon.

A:Acer Aspire V Nitro shutdown - black screen

Sorry to hear you are having problems with your Acer Nitro. Usually when issues like lock ups and slow performance occur it is due to software problems, based on the info provided. The best way to troubleshoot something like this is to back up your data, run the recovery to restore the system back to factory configurations. Test the system and if the issues are not occuring after the restore, chances are it was a software issue. If this does not resolve the issue, we recommend you contact Acer support for your region/country for further assistance.

My Acer Aspire one has Windows 7, is around 4 years old. It does not have a cd drive, and Windows is being prevented from starting..........even in safe mode or "last good configuration" mode on the Advanced Boot Options screen. These choices all end up (after loading windows files completes) at the Windows Error Recovery screen that says "windows failed to start". This is followed by a long pause of black screen, followed by the infamous blue screen with the tiny bird and the green branch over on the right side. It freezes on that screen and stays. At that point, Cntl/Alt/Del won't even work, and the only way to shut down and try restarting is to manually shut it down.
I even bought the repair cds from Acer, along with a remote player, but since the Acer freezes where it does, I can't even load the cd software, so that "fix" cannot be tried either.

I have a Acer aspire one zg5, you know the little mini laptops? Well my problem is that it wont turn on. This is what happened:

Last night i finished my homework, decided to play a game, im not sure if your familiar with the game worms, well i like alot so i decided to try to find a site to download it from.

I found one and downloaded the game, now i have mcafee installed so im feeling pretty confident that nothing bad will happen. And the copy i was downloading was not illegal, it was only a demo since you have to purchase the whole game.

But anyways, it came in a winrar archive, so i extracted the files and clicked on the setup, a notice popped up that said "mcafee has blocked and removed a...trojan something" So i deleted the files cuz i dont want a virus on my pc.

Then i try anothe site, now this one is probably questionable to say the least, i decided to download the application instead of the files seeing as how a second ago mcafee had protected my pc, i felt like nothing would happen.

So i do, and my computer goes to the blue error screen and then shuts off. It restarts and everything looks okay, so i decide to give up on the game and im about to start a scan to remove anything that might have come in with the application and my pc just turns to the blue screen again, and restarts, i cant read what error it is because it only stays there for about 1 second and restarts.

And thats where it is now, i turn it on, it goes to the blue screen, it restarts... Read more

Boot off of the XP CD Or download the Recovery Console ISO. Burn it to CD with IMGBurn and get to the Recovery Console. Here type chkdsk /R and press enter. The Check Disk utility will try and fix any file errors.
You can also download the ISO image for memtest and burn the image to a CD using IMGBurn boot off of the troubled computer with the newly created CD and run the tests with one stick of RAM in at a time for at least 7 passes each.

There are a probably a hundred reasons for your problem, but let's look at what you've done for a possible cause. If you can get into the bios, see if you can turn off either the card or MOBO display output. I think you might have both enabled. Can you explain what happened to cause your video card installation to fail?

Just wondering if anyone can tell me what's going on with our Acer laptop..

Turn it on and we get a blue screen saying the following

STOP: OXOOOOOO7E (OXCOOOOOO5, OX8OCF8640, OX88183554, OX88183250

acpi.sys-Address 80CF8640 base at 80CDE000, Datestamp 4549adb7

Also sometimes goes to a black screen saying repair, click repair and it just keeps going back the the same screen, can't even start it in safe mode.

not had it long so if I can't fix it myself then I'll take it back but would like an idea what's going on!
Acer didn't supply a disc with it, it's all preinstalled and the operating system is vista home premium.

A:Blue screen on start up, Acer Aspire laptop

As you've tried all the non-destructive methods, you can restore your PC back to defaults by holding the [Alt] key and tapping F10 as soon as you turn the PC on to access the recovery program. Have you recently installed any new software that could be pinpointed as the cause?

Requires hard shutdown.

Freeze happens while playing video games or watching streaming.

Strange thing about two of these same models is the last driver available for the Nvidia 8200 display chip is from 2009, yet WUD pushes out 9200 drivers for it regularly.

I earlier today rolled back to the Nvidia 8200 driver from 2009. He's since played his usual games with no noticeable performance difference from the 2014 Nvidia 9200 Driver.

But I'd done this before for another PC of the same model to no avail. So I'm hoping one of the analysts here can see if you spot anything else in the upload.

A:Acer Aspire X1300 freezes light blue screen

Is it bugchecking?
I can't see any dump files in the .zip folder.
If it does BSOD does he use programs like CCleaner?
If so then it can remove dump files.

If it is just freezing then Driver Verifier might work some wonders in generating a BSOD.

Enable driver verifier but only enable the options: Standard settings and IRP logging step 3.
Don't enable Force Pending I/O Requests

Enable Driver Verifier to monitor the drivers.
Driver Verifier -Enable and Disable
Run Driver Verifier for 24 hours or the occurrence of the next crash, whichever is earlier.

We use Driver Verifier as it puts a stress on the drivers, and so it makes the unstable drivers crash. This should flag the driver responsible in the dump file.

Driver Verifier will make the system laggy, this is normal so don't worry.

Before enabling DV, make sure that you have earlier System restore points made in your computer.

If there are no points, make a System Restore Point Manually

Post back the results.

So the problem is that my computer shuts down after some hours when in stand by. It has happened more than ten times already.

I followed the procedure on how to post this issue on this forum. I uploaded the ZIP file to this forum. If someone can find a solution for this problem, I'd be very thankful.

I have an ACer Aspire one D2255-2256. At varying amounts of time of computer being on the computer goes to the Blue Screen Of Death, BSOD. I have seen different reasons given for possible problems. One problem is that the Blue Screen only stays on screen for a couple of seconds, not enough time to read the screen. It is on for a couple of seconds and at the bottom of screen it mentions '??????? dumping ', which only takes a couple of seconds, then computer blanks out and reboots. I was able to take one picture with camera of one of the blue screen appearances. But like I said earlier the reasons given are not always the same, just don't have the time to read it. I have done a complete recovery to factory settings and default settings. Still gets the blue screen. I am not really computer savvy. I usually can muddle my way through problems, even if it is complete rebooting recovery. Usually settles things. But not this time. Still having problems with BSOD.

Hi, I'm new to this so am hoping i give all the correct information regarding my problem.

Windows Defender popped up earlier on informing me of a trojan and asking if it was to be removed, i said yes and continued on my merry way, installing a game, when i started to get lots of pop-ups, i closed them all and then had another 4 or so trojans discovered on my computer, so thought a restart, as i'd been told by WD, would be the best bet. My game had just installed when my puter turned itself off and since then, all i got was a looping blue screen and the screen that says to repair or start normally, if i choose repair, it comes back to the same screen, if i choose normal, it goes straight to the blue screen.

I have downloaded, on mothers pc, a vista recovery disc, done F8 and changed to boot from cd/dvd drive and now i'm stuck with a pc dos screen (or is it a command prompt screen?) and nothing i put into the command lines will make it boot.

It's and Acer Aspire 6920 laptop, running Vista, all service packs and updates have installed with no problems, to my knowledge anyway.

I'm sorry i haven't got any screenshots and i also apologise if this is comfusing or i've left out any relevant information that you need to know.

Can anyone help??

i recently bought an acer aspire m1640 off of someone. But when i turned it on it made a loud EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE noise. I narrowed down frow where the noise is coming fom and its coming from the lower right corner of the motherboard. Its not from the hard drive or any of the fans. it seems that its coming from a small cylinder with a hole on top of it and there is a small lithium ion battery next to it. Does anyone know whats wrong or how to fix it???

A:acer aspire wont boot noise EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

The EEEEEE noise you are referring to is coming from yur motherboard onboard speaker, and is a series of high pitched beeps. I;ve looked at the board maual and it does not refer to the different beep combinations it has.

Try powering up the Pc with the top off the case and check things such as the CPU fan is running, check all hardware is seated correctly as it more than likely will be some form of hardware failure. Also try replacing the CMOS battery (the small lithium ion battery you mentioned)

Hi, I have a problem with my laptop. It was in service at the end of August with the cpu stuck at 0,8GHz problem. They fixed it with the replacement of the motherboard. This problem is fixed, but after the service a new problem came. My left speaker started making buzzing noise when I start playing games(CS:GO or GTA V tested on both). Feels like as my laptop getting hotter and hotter the noise gets louder and louder. If I close the game there is still buzzing noise, but as the laptop cools down it starts getting quieter until it stops doing it. I tried to uninstall and install the audio driver(latest from the acer website), disable or mute the speakers, but nothing help. I'm always using my laptop with headphones. Thanks for the advices in advance.

A:Acer Aspire 5733Z Win 7 Ultimate random shutdown

What's the exact SNID number and serial number on your Acer Aspire 5733Z laptop?

From what I can determine, that model laptop originally came with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.
How long has it been running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit?

The main reason why a laptop will shut down without warning is because of overheating.
We're not there though to see it, so the shut down issue may be hardware related or software related or both.

I have a 6 years old laptop that is constantly shutting down by itself without warning during startup.

This happened after I downloaded an ebook.

The shut down occurred more during starting up the laptop about 6 times before reaching the logon screen.
It normally shuts down a few times in normal use like surfing the web, downloading, or even when I was running hardware tests or HDD error checking.

At first, I thought the Toshiba HDD was nearing it lifespan. I did a test on the HDD. Please read 6 yo Acer Aspire laptop can't boot due to sysconfig changed & disk err. The constant shutdowns that occurred, damaged the Toshiba HDD severely especially the MBR.

I already performed Windows MemTest.
All OK, normal bootup without any problems.A pop sound!.Shutdown again after 25 minutes of use.

In safe mode, no shutdown yet in a minute or two. I did not keep the Acer power on in Safe Mode for more than 5 minutes. So the test is inconclusive.

Then I did a re-installation of windows 7 on a new Western Digital HDD. Please read I am totally blank on installation of Windows 7 on a new HDD.

After re-installation of windows 7 on a new WD HDD. The new WD HDD will auto shutdown every time during startup or bootup even before reaching the logon screen or after I logged in or when I was installing the drivers 10 to 20 minutes after startup or bootup .

I am now using the old Toshiba HDD to access the WWW.

Did search using google, next going to clean the fan.

A:Acer Aspire 4736G constantly shutdown by itself without warning

Sounds like a power problem.

Can you get your hands on another power supply to test with?
Do you have a multimeter you can use?

Could also be an overheating or a CPU fan problem.
Check that the CPU fan header is plugged in properly, then watch the fan at startup for any hiccups.

You can also boot directly into the BIOS settings and go to the monitoring section (different on every MB) and check your temps and voltages, at start - in 15 min - at 1 hour. See if there is any notable changes.

I restarted my computer like normal and for whatever reason the computer is now stuck at the Acer boot screen. I try to press DEL to enter Setup and I even tried pressing F12 to go into the Boot Setup, but for whatever reason the computer does not respond to anything.

To shut it off I have to hold down the power button and eventually it shuts off.

Stuff to know:
- I have a wireless mouse and keyboard being used on that desktop.. Should I perhaps try to plug in a corded mouse and keyboard?
- I'm running on Windows 7 Ultimate.

My Acer Aspire 5612z, Dual-core celeron, 2GB ram, vista home premium 32bit, has two separate problems. Screen is filled with vertical red blue and white vertical stripes, if I tap the screen frame then the picture is ok for 30 mins or so, then goes stripey again. (Poss fault on FL board?).
Second, Laptop boots, 20 seconds, to Acer screen then stops.
Can only switch off power from that point.

A:Acer Aspire screen problem and only boot to Acer screen

Tapping the screen you could have a loose connection from the LCD Panel to the MOBO connector, but you see if you did the screen would dim out. In your case you have the the same issues that tell me that the LCD Panel is faulty. If this unit is still under warranty then have ACER service the unit or take it to ACER dealer who can either send it back to ACER or they can order the panel and replace it for you at no cost, but then it has to be under warranty. If not you'll have to pay the cost of ordering the part, labor to install it. Find out cost prior to signing any agreement.

On your other issue, did you replace or upgrade the battery or memory? If not then remove the battery and plugin the power only. Try this again does it boot the ACER logo and Windows. Can you put your ear down to the keys or palm rest and hear the HDD spinning up?
If not either the HDD is DOA or faulty power module on the MOBO or just bad MOBO. Again same as above if it's under warranty call or take it to ACER factory service dealer.

Make sure if you had a good battery on this laptop that all switches are switched to the lock mode for the battery.

I have a very interesting problem.
I bought an Acer Aspire M3920 Desktop without any OS installed.
M3920 has the followig spec:
Acer Aspire M3920 Desktop - Desktops | Ebuyer.com

Next I install Windows 7 x64 Home Premium Edition on the machine. This is an original OEM Edition of Windows 7.
After the install of the basic OS you try to shutdown the desktop and it will not.
It will go as far as showing the shutdown screen with the rotating circle.
The circle freezes and nothing else.
Even after installing all the Acer drivers still the same problem, but with the difference that when you shutdown you will see the shutdown screen and then the screen goes blank but the desktop does not switch off. Only the 5 second hold on the power button switches the machine off.

Now I install Windows 7 32bit Home Premium Edition on the machine. Again only the basic OS without any specific drivers.
Success, the desktop performs a normal shutdown as expected.

BIOS settings are the same between both install's.

I do know that the M3920 uses an EFI BIOS instead of the normal BIOS. I do not know if this might have something to do with it.

Any ideas?

A:[SOLVED] Windows 7 x64 on Acer Aspire M3920 with EFI BIOS does not shutdown..

Any Computer with 4 gigs or more of ram is usually a 64 bit system. Your PC is a 32 bit system which is the reason why it works under 32 bit.

Generally, a computer's bit count indicates how much data it can process, the speed with which it can process the data, and the maximum memory capacity. In order to optimize the computer's performance, the bit count of the operating system that is installed on the computer should match the bit count of the computer itself.
Click Start button
Type system in the Start Search box, and then click system in the Programs list.
The operating system is displayed as follows:
For a 64-bit version operating system: 64-bit Operating System appears for the System type under System.
For a 32-bit version operating system: 32-bit Operating System appears for the System type under System.

I have inherited an old Acer Aspire 5920 Laptop. It originally came with windows Vista 32 bit installed. I've nuked that and installed Windows 7 x64 Ultimate. I managed to find all the relevant drivers and there is nothing flagged in device manager as having a problem. Everything appears to work with the exception of the row of Media Keys down the right hand side of the keyboard right above the DVD drive. The key with the little person symbol works when pressed but all the remaining keys that are lit up blue don't. These keys are the play pause stop etc. They brighten up for a second if you press on one of them but don't actually do anything in Media player, Media center, or Acer Arcade. I'd be happy if they just worked in Windows Media Player. Non of the Acer empowering apps are compatible with Windows 7 and are not installed. The only exception is the Acer Launcher App which allows me to program the Blue e key and the e-mail etc keys that are on the left hand side of the keyboard. There is another set of media keys on the actual keyboard that are accessed using the Fn key that work. It would just be nice to be able to use the other ones that are lit up and easy to see in the dark. I sometimes like to lay down and listen to some music with the lights off and its a bit of a pain trying to use the other keys to stop or pause the music in low light conditions.

A:Acer Aspire 5920 Blue Media keys don't work?

thats the only problem with older tech and newer os. ive got a laptop that i put windows 7 on, but there are no compatible audio drivers for its chipset that work with windows 7.

The fact that you were able to boot normally after F2 into the bios menu, F9 to re-set the bios to factory default, then F10 to save this default bios setting, ***strongly*** suggests that the bios was losing it's memory of the specific hard drive that was installed.    Jack E/NJ
