AIO700-24ISH Warranty repair problems

Q: AIO700-24ISH Warranty repair problems

I love this computer, but I recently developed touch screen problems which required disabling it. Pity, because I use it extensively for drafting.I have 3 year On-Site repair Warranty. It has been 3 weeks and I was informed that the 4 parts required are unavailable. The only option being offered is for me to return the unit for a refund, as there are no comparable replacements for it.This is frustrating, since I cannot find any AIO on the market anywhere with an I7-6700 and the rest of the features this otherwise great computer has. (F0BE006RUS)I know other variants came with a UHD display. Are the UHD parts (if available) interchangable with the original FHD system?I am hoping somehow to keep this computer, and find it hard to believe that they could sell so many versions of this for over a year and not have any repair parts to work with. What good is buying a warranty for REPAIR when a REFUND is the only remedy?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi Hawsie,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Similar to most OEM, this was what the warranty agreement contracts both parties in such event.

"What Your Service Provider Will Do to Correct Problems:
....... If the Service Provider determines that it is unable to either repair or replace your product, your sole remedy under this Limited Warranty is to return the product to your place of purchase or to Lenovo for a refund of your purchase price."

As it is hard to let go of a good machine, it can be a fair deal for us consumers to have the option to have our money back and take an opportunity to look for a better machine to match our needs.

Hope this help answer your query.

A:Replace HDD by SDD on AIO700-24ISH

Hi thierryc49 ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Your original harddrive have a one key recovery feature when you tap F2 on boot to reset it to factory settings.
Are you planning a clean installed windows or exact image of the original harddrive.

Before proceeding , best you create a recovery image first.

For a clean installation , download same version of ISO and install windows then drivers from support site.
For a mirror image of the original drive , best option would be using a cloners (there would be a lot to choose from).

I was really enjoying the new AIO 700 until it let out a loud pop, whif of something burning, and went black. Now the power button doesn't even light up. When I bought it, I was suppossed to have next day 'in home' service. Evidently this is not really the case if they can't diagnose the problem over the phone. It had to be sent in for repairs. One week tomorrow, no status update yet. Now I'm worried about the long term reliabilty. Just saying..... not feeling the love anymore.

A:AIO700 24ish Loud Pop and Dead after 3 weeks

I've had a great experience with my Lenovo products and Lenovo support. Because of your issue, I don't think that they can do an on site repair since they don't know what is wrong, so sending it in is the best course of action I believe. If you still haven't received an update, you can check the depot repair status online with your case number or just contact Lenovo support. I hope it goes well.

Hello, Earlier this year I had my laptop repaired due to issues with the touchscreen and mouse. My warranty then expired in the middle of this year. Now the hinges/cover that were removed to replace the screen are failing. (I also noticed that the cover clips were significantly damaged during the repair when it popped off) Do I have any options here to get this repaired? This was something they had to touch to do the earlier repair and something I could not touch under normal circumstances. Does anyone have any experiance with this? I can't find a good way to contact the warranty department due to my warrenty being expired.

I have, under my care, an X260 laptop which has sustained damage to a corner of its casing. It does not appear to have affected the operability of the laptop. I submitted a ticket to get it repaired under the warranty but it comes back as a Depot repair. I have a hard time separating the employee from the laptop, especially for an indeterminate amount of time. Is not the bottom case just a shell? Can I contact someone to just get the part sent? I feel confident I can do a bottom case myself.

A:Take an in Warranty repair and do it myself

Does the machine have accidental damage coverage?  Normally, warranty won't cover physical case damage without accidental damage warranty..  In case of physical damage, depot repair is best in case something inside got damaged at the same time.  Also, the depot can move or replace stickers.

Howdy, Is it possible to get HP to fix a broken laptop (spillage has broken the keyboard) out of the laptops warranty? Failing that, are there any repair shops licensed/recommended by HP in the UK? Thanks

A:Out of Warranty Repair (UK)

Is the damage confined to the keyboard? That is not expensive or difficult and just about any computer shop should be able to handle it and it is even possible in many cases to do it yourself.  Please let us know if you want to try replacement. If not the best way to go about it is to procure the part and take it and the laptop to a local shop.  Where are you located in the UK? See pages 74-77 of the Manual here: Service Manual https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EuovxquGRFk The video is also useful. Removal of the keyboard part stops at about 7:50.  Post back with any more questions.

I would have thought there would be others with such an issue...but I couldn't find any answered question about my issue on the forums. My laptop purchased in dec-2013 has a broken left hinge part. As a result, I cannot open/close the lid without almost fully breaking the hinge. Even with the lid up, its extremely unstable. Needless to say, the laptop is out of commission at the moment. I am considering getting it repaired since it runs decently enough. Its out of warranty though. I tried to check my options at the HP Support portal and answered a few questions including serial and product# and the website stated that the warranty has expired and I need to pay for phone support. So, I know phone support is not going to fix the hinge issue and I am not sure why I am being asked to pay to just check on my options. I need to know the cost of the repair and the turnaround time. And, I opened up the back cover and tried to figure out what is wrong (basically, the mold attached to the base of the laptop that holds the screw connecting the hinge and the base is broken). I want to verify that HP will accept a laptop that was opened by the customer. Any HP support folks here that can answer my questions? Thanks.

Hello, Has anyone sent in their laptop for repair recently? How was your service? I sent my Yoga-720 which should have taken 9 business days unless parts are out of stock. The last update I have is: 7/3/2018, 9:12:30 AM   Your machine arrived at the Lenovo Service Center on 2018-07-03 I have had some communication and they said that they switched repair facilities. This was escalated to a case manager who I was hoping to hear from yesterday. I was just checking if anyone had any recent experience with warranty repair because I am desperately trying to get my laptop (or a working laptop) back  Thanks

Hi there. I have discovered that my laptop's Warranty has expired but my laptop is now damaged. It accidently slid off a bed when my dog jumped onto the bed and I believe this may be what has caused the damage. The case appears to have broken open in the corner by the power button. This is just on the lower half of the laptop (the keyboard half). It seems that the silver case has come unhitched from the black base. This is resulting in, when I open the lid, the hinge opens up the split more. I have, today, exprienced a new problem which was very disconcerting! A loud sharp buzzing sound started coming from the laptop. It sounded like an electrical buzz, rather than a fan or whirring. I feel like maybe something related to the case splitting has caused something icky to happen inside!  What I need to know iswhat my options are now that the Warranty has expired. I don't know whether this is something that is going to need urgent repair or not. The loud electric buzzing has triggered me to seek help because it was very unnerving. I don't know if could be something as simple as clipping the case back together? I've tried pushing it back together to see if it would simply click, but this hasn't worked. I've not experienced any other technical issues as a result of the damage, other than what I've already mentioned. I would really appreciate some advise in this situation as I really don't want to be paying an absolute fortune for a repair!

Hello. About a month ago I had my Y70-70t repaired under warranty for flickering/black screen problems. The service centre replaced the screen assembly and it was fine for a couple days the few times I used it until the same issue resurfaced. I took it back and they refused to accept it without me paying a fee for them to diagnose the problem. This was the day the original factory warranty expired, which perplexed me as the repair they made that should have fixed the same issue not even a month prior did not fix the problem. What is the warranty period on repairs? Its pretty annoying the service centre won't accept it back without a charge even tho the repairs they made failed to correct the issue.

Hi everyone, I have two 'bright spots' that have developed seperately on my Lenovo Y580 1920x1080 screen. The first is approximately 40% from the left, 40% from the top, 10 mm wide and 1mm high. The second is approximately 60% from the left, 10% from the top, circular with a diamter of approximately 2 mm. The screen was perfect when I got it and the laptop hadn't even left the house when they developed. I've tried to live with them but I really can't, they catch the eye in games and graphics work, especially on white backgrounds. I would like the screen replaced under warranty. I'm really struggling to work out how I even contact Lenovo to get it repaired. I've called three 'service centres', all of which say they're not a Lenovo service centre. When I try to contact Lenovo here (http://support.lenovo.com/gb/en/contactus) by clicking on "Submit a Service Request", it just takes me around in circles. This form (http://www.lenovoshop.com/support/len_uk/) doesn't accept my serial number, even through the warranty checker one does (http://support.lenovo.com/gb/en/warrantylookup). How do I actually request a warranty repair?

Sent my T440 to Memphis under Warranty with problem 'SD slot no longer recognizing card' (isolated problem on two other pc) and was quoted $544 REPAIR FEE because the contacts were 'damaged'. This is not only an outrageous amount of $$ to replace a $20 or less part but I have no idea how it was 'damaged'. One day it recognized an SD card, next morning did not. I've requested 'elevation' of the repair and tried to point out how this is my FIFTH ThinkPad and how my recommendation led to SIRIUS purchase of 20 TP's over HP laptops which also led to personal LENOVO purchases and my wife also has two LENOVO laptop/tablet over other brands and I'm SO DISAPPOINTED in the current service support for a T440 UNDER WARRANTY. How can a failed SD slot replacement cost $544?????? That makes no sense. I'm to hear from LENOVO service Mon/Tue depending if the dept works President's Day. The operator who provided the $544 amount needs some customer service retraining. I'm personally sad about the poor quality service having seen amazing support in the past including 48 hour turnaround on two other TPads in the past few years. UGGGHHH!!

A:Outrageous repair fee while under Warranty

Obviously, I cannot see the machine to examine it.  If something is physically damaged by the customer, such as from a liquid spill, or from physical abuse or force, it would only be covered if the owner purchased accidental damage coverage.  If the damage is caused by a manufacturing defect, then it should be covered.  If you think this is the case, you can ask for a photo of the damage and ask for a 2nd opinion.  The SD slot is part of the motherboard, so the price would be for a motherboard replacement.  As customers have demanded thinner and lighter machines, more parts are on the motherboard as soldered components.

Within a month of buying a new T580, it was having problems with the SSD and motherboard and eventually wouldn't even boot as far as the UEFI screen. I sent it in to the depot a couple weeks ago for warranty repair and it is currently on hold for parts. I just called and they said that the part will not arrive for another month, estimated May 3. This seems unreasonable to me; if I buy a new laptop and it contains faulty hardware, shouldn't it be Lenovo's responsibility to make sure I have a working laptop again ASAP? I understand that they may have no control over when the part will arrive, but there must be something Lenovo can do besides just leaving me computerless for this whole time, and the people I've talked to on the phone do not seem particularly interested in coming up with a solution. This is my work computer and being without it for over a month is not an option, so if this is not resolved soon I will have to buy a new laptop from another brand and sell the Thinkpad whenever it finally gets fixed. Does anyone else have experience dealing with this kind of thing? Were you able to solve the problem or did you just have to wait it out?

On 5/23 I sent my under-warranty T540p to repair a failing screen.  It was received by the depot on 5/24.  Almost two weeks later, support still has no ETA on when it will be repaired, and the repair status has been stuck on "Hold for customer information" since Friday 5/27.  When I first called, I was told this would be a quick repair.  Unless I can get this back soon, I'm going to be forced to by a new laptop (needless to say, it most certainly will not be a Lenovo).  What's the point of having a three-year warranty if it doesn't include even semi-timely repairs???

Who has ever sent their computers in for a repair when it's under warranty to the manufacturer's repair center?

I am having to send mine, because I can't get the shutdown and sleep problem resolved.

Acer says its a hardware problem.

A:Computer Repair Under Warranty Question?

I bought an Acer Aspire T310 desktop machine (the first time I'd purchased an Acer product) in early 2006, which had a faulty DVD/CD burner. I contacted the repair centre and they assured me that if i sent it in they'd replace the drive.

The service centre was (and is) about 80km away, and it so happened that I'd be in that vicinity on business in a few days, so I arranged to drop it off then. I did so, and then went off to conduct other business.

When I returned several hours later, it was ready, with a new drive fitted, at no cost due to the warranty.

Obviously in my case I virtually eliminated any chance of damage-in-transit, but I certainly can't complain about the service I received from Acer.

Interestingly, having owned seven Acers over the years (I currently own three - one desktop and two laptops) that was the only time I've had an issue of any kind, with any of them.

Needless to say, my next machine will probably also be an Acer.

I submitted a request for some warranty work to be done on a laptop. I received a confirmation that the request was received and that I should be receiving a response in about 30 minutes (sometimes a little longer depending on work load). It has now been a day and a half since receiving that confirmation and STILL no response.  I tried responding to the email I received but it got bounced back. I tried to find an email address for support but there are none advertised. How long does this warranty process usually take? Is the actual warranty repair work just as slow as the initial request for work? I really need this laptop. I would rather repair it myself and give up the worthless warranty if the process is going to stretch out into days and weeks. Dell sends a repair person out to fix the issue. How does Lenovo handle repairs? Do we ship the laptop out to some shop somewhere and just hope they get to it and return it? Please - I would really like to hear from someone other than a Lenovo employee. What has been YOUR experience. Like I said, repairing the computer myself will only take a day to get a new SSD drive to replace the faulty HDD. I can not be without this computer for weeks.

A month ago (5/2/17), I sent my Thinkpad Yoga 14 (best buy version) to the depot for the following issues:-Computer will not boot, continuously restarts with the error 0xc000021a and cannot fix-Battery wears quickly, went from 8 hours to 5 hours of battery life within 3 months-Discoloration on the left top corner of screen, where it should be black it looks green on startup-Letter 'i" key is stiff on keyboard compared to other keys I have spent the last month waiting on an internal battery parts hold from depot. I had the case escalated from depot to Lenovo in order to resolve the issue. The options I was given were:1. Get a full refund in 5-7 MORE business days (meaning what you paid for the computer, pointless because I bought the computer at a discount)2. Get computer replaced by the Yoga 460 (which does not have NVIDIA 940M like my machine, so a downgrade, not a replacement) Neither of the options were sensible. Yesterday, I cancelled the depot request and received the machine today (6/1/17). To my dismay, only ONE of those repairs was PARTIALLY resolved and the laptop was very dirty when I took it out of the box, as if someone was repairing it while eating. Purchased a 2 new XPS8900's in December 2015 and had a hardware failure (Blue Screen with 0114 and 0122 faults) in early September 2016 with one of them while the machine was still in factory warranty. Called tech support and they told me that the i7 chip and the RAM had failed so I boxed up the computer and sent it to Houston for repair. Two weeks later the computer came back with those parts replaced, however the computer now had additional problems that it did not have prior. The SSD Drive was now inaccessible, MS Edge crashed when executed, MacAfee software disappeared, and there is now a BTServer.exe error message on boot to desktop. 6 Hours later after multiple phone calls to the far east and 2 dial-ins to the computer from tech support, they tell me that I now have to re-box up the computer and send it back to Houston once more. We box up the machine again and this time included a laundry list of problems that the machine now has. Back to Houston it went. Two weeks later on November 16th it returns from Dell Houston and 3 of the 4 items on my laundry list of issues are still not repaired but they now have replaced the Wireless card and the SSD Drive.

a year ago i my warranty was almost over and i had a defect on the audiojack. as Lenovo reinstalls the factory image ( to test the audio, makes sense) , i bought  a usb audio replacement to avoid the repair, (couple of weeks ) and restoring the windows image from a backup ( 20 euro's for the audio usb versus much more time to gain repair. in the end, my hard drive also gave some issues , so the warranty was settled. i got the laptop back and an unlucky mistake during repair caused a defect laptop returned so i got the second warranty  for that mistake ( no sarcasme here, it can happen to the best.) when i got the laptop back the bios reported invalid errors , as did software which is used to test GPU's. turns out that i  got the laptop back without the AMD chipsset in it. as i have a spare laptop , i did not notice this right away and y the time that i did, the warranty was of course expired. moreover the laptop was running windows 10 insider preview and so i got the response that it was a driver mistake and i should revert to windows 8.1  and then all was fine. except for it was not. and still is not. i have tried every possible AMD solution ( DDU, manually updating , deinstalling Intel and AMD software and  reverting to 8.1 but the AMD is not in the system..) ergo: i bought the laptop as it had 2 GPU's ( not for gaming but just for a bit more power) and now i am stuck with just one GPU. i am still hoping that someone will point m... The HDD on my 10 month old Envy has encountered a fatal error.  I chatted with HP and the only recourse I have is to send it in for a warranty repair. I am two concerns regarding the data on the disk.  We have a good bit backed up, but it has been six months or so since we did a backup so there is a good deal of data on there that we will likely lose. First, I would like to try to recover the data (pics, files) but know that HP will simply replace the drive.  I also understand that getting someone to try to revover the data is likely prohibitevely expensive. Second, and most important, I am concerned about private data (tax returns, medical records, etc.).  Is it safe to send the laptop into HP with reasonable assurance that me data will be secure?  Or am i better off trying to replace the HDD myself and somehow reimage the drive with Windows? Thanks for your input and guidance!

A:Crashed HDD - Safe to send to HP for warranty repair?

Is the hard drive the source of the fatal error? Or, as far as you know is it still in good condition? Personally I would remove the hard drive and make an image of it and send it to HP with a blank drive. To their techs re-imaging the hard drive is a trivial matter.  You can trust HP with the private data on the hard drive if you do not want to do the above or are leery of opening it.  See p. 34 of the Manual here: Manual Accessing the hard drive is not very easy. I assume the system can no longer be booted to get at the data while the hard drive is still in place?  If you choose to replace the hard drive yourself this is a good oportunity to upgrade to a solid state drive or at least a faster 7200 rpm mechanical drive. The 5400 rpm drive you have is the performance bottleneck of the machine.  If this is "the Answer" please click "Accept as Solution" to help others find it.

I sent in my Y50 (Win7 64bit) to get a hinge fixed. The techs updated the BIOS, and i'm assuming that's why now my FN toggle to disable/enable the touchpad no longer works.  I've tried re-installing the drivers in a bunch of ways. Tried fully uninstalling them from Device Manager, then installing the one from the Lenovo webiste, The button still doesn't work. I tried fully uninstalling and restarting the computer and letting windows install the default drivers. still doesn't work. I even tried installing Lenovo Power Manager upon reading some forum posts online. That did nothing. I don't know what to do to get this Function key to work again. The other function key combo's work fine. But this one does not. I would REALLY appreciate some help as this is affecting my productivity. The touchpad gets false touches from my palm so i like to have it disabled. Apparently there's settings for that, but mine didn't work either. Please and thank you.

A:Y50 - Fn+F6 touchpad control not working after warranty repair.

Hi,    I understand how frustrating can be. You can try changing this settings using Lenovo Settings, it came preinstalled but I believe is available for free in other places like Store, here is a link:https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/store/apps/lenovo-settings/9wzdncrfj12pOn this app on the left top corner you have the menu and select Input now you should be able and see Touch Pad and function Key settings. Here is a screenshot:http://i66.tinypic.com/b8ppco.png As you can see you have option to disable touch pad from there too. Good luck.

My question involves a consumer law issue in the State of: ColoradoI had a HP computer and purchased an HP accidental damage plan waranty. This plan covers accidental liquid spills. It has no exlcusions based on the type of liquid spill. NONE. No exclusions for the liquid being a biohazard.I was at a coffee shop, and a friend bumped the table and knocked over water, coffe and tea. It spilled all over my computer. There were many witnesses.3 keys on the computer stopped working after this liquid spill. I contacted HP and they offered to send on site repair staff, but I couldn't take 6 hours off of work to wait for them to come. HP preffered for me to send in the computer anyhow. They confrimed the liquid spill of coffee. tea, and/or water is a covered event. They sent me a box and I mailed the computer back in to them. I took photos of the computer condition before shipping. It was dry on the outside and we had shaken out as much of the liquid as we could. I sent the computer in. When it got there, I immeidately got an email about a cracked LCD. It did not have a cracked LCD when I shipped it and it was well packed.I called them and they said someone would get back to me.I then got a text about an hour later stating my computer was being shipped back to me. I figured it had been repaired. They gave no info about the computer itself.I got the box on April 27th. There were no biohazardous or dangerous material labels on the outside of the box. I opened it and pulled out my compute... Read more
