G-560 Wifi connection problems

Q: G-560 Wifi connection problems

Hi there! My G-560 has got for the past 2 weeks lots of WiFi connectivity issues running in Win 7 Professional 32bit. Initially, it is always able to connect to the Internet. At some time i will get the "restricted connectivity" message and the connection will be eventually lost.If i try to press the troubleshoot problem, it will freeze after a while. So it leaves me with restarting the windows as my only option. I tried everything related that i read on this forum, but the wifi problem insists. I have tried all the Broadcom drivers including the newest one. Unchecked the "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power". I have tried to connect to the net through LAN and it seems to work without problem. I assume it may have sth to do with drivers. Note its definitely sth with the G-560 as other wireless devices (including another laptop) in my home work perfect. Thanks in advance

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

I am staying in a hotel that has multiple routers (each floor has one) and networks. I can log on to one network(ground floor) to gain internet access without a problem, but when I attempt to logon to any of the other networks(different floors) I get connected to the network but cannot get through to the internet. An IT person helped by doing something about the IP address and I gained access for a couple of hours, but now I am again unable to get more than local access. Any suggestions?

1st suggestion is just an old standby--Restart the PC.

For more help, tell us about the OS, wireless utility you are using, and as much about the problem as you can.

Hi,

First of all sorry, if this is a stupid question and sorry for my crappy english.

Recently I bought internet subcription with my girlfriend. It's from UPC, so all we got is a moden-wifi router hanging out of the wall.

Now I could connect perfectly with my notebook without any issue. I had to type in the password on the back of the modenwifirouterstuff. My laptop is connected to the wifi router and i have internet access.

However, when I connected my girlfriend's laptop, there is no internet access.
It's connected to the router, but there is that little yellow triangle with the ! and says: No internet connection.( meanwhile i'm writing this from the same network on a different laptop)

Her laptop is a Acer ASpire (v5 if I'm not wrong).

Please help so that I can top trying to solve it and have sex.

A:Wifi connection problems

Using her pc . .

Lets take a peek at your network environment:

First:

Power Cycle everything . . Turn off the Modem, router and all pc's . . turn on the Modem and wait a few minutes for the lights to stabilize . . then turn on the router, then one pc at a time. See if you connect to the internet.

Then:

Remove all the stored wireless network profiles and search for the network again.

How to Remove Stored Wireless Network Profiles for XP, Vista, and Windows 7

Then: check your browser's settings, remove any proxy settings if found here's how.

Then:

with the pc connected to the router, Click on Start . . Run . . type CMD

At the > prompt type or copy and paste the following command:

ipconfig/all > 0 & notepad 0

and press enter.

Come back here and Paste the results in a message.

If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB drive, or a CD-R disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.

then please Download and run this Xirrus WiFi Inspector, click the Networks link on the upper left and paste a screen shot of that screen here. Note that this application requires NET Framework to run. If you get an error about a missing function, download and install NET Framework.

so, this thing has been bugging me for the last two days. I reinstalled windows on one of my computers, and I can't get the wireless lan to work. I see the network name(I use a hidden SSID and WPA encryption) and I connect to the network for just a split second, then it says no connection again... I've tried different names, channels, firmware, drivers, to no avail. The strange(or maybe not) thing is, is that the wifi is working on two of my other computers, so I think the problem lies with this one. I didn't install SP2 yet(I've read about wifi problems because of sp2) and I can't really think of what else to change. I've got a planet wl-u356 usb dongle.

Oh, almost forgot, I tried another usb dongle(netgear wg111v2) and the exact same problem occurs.

Help would be welcome!

A:wifi connection problems

Install SP2!

If you are using the Windows builtin utility, try using the adapter maker's program instead and vice versa.

Some (older) adapters have problems with WPA and you just can't use them with it - the only choice would be WEP.

possibly - but often pcs have a trial version security suite

A couple weeks ago we experienced a big lightning storm. It cause our power to go out. After it turned back on the networking port (built-in) behind my computer died ( I assume) and so did my router (I think). I've managed to connect my cable modem to my computer via usb, however I can't connect a router now to my computer since the networking port doesn't work. I bought a new linksys cisco wrt110 to replace the dead one I had, and it acts as a stand alone router that's not connected to any pc. Now all my wifi devices can't connect to the router. I have 3 wifi detecting devices that all show the router with strong signal, but after trying to connect to the router all I get on all 3 devices are errors and can't connect. Does the router have to be connected to a pc for other devices to work? If not how can I get my devices to connect. My previous router had the same problem after the lightning storm. It showed strong signal on my devices but all of them had errors upon connecting. Any suggestions out there? Anyone know if there's a way to get the network port behind my pc working again. Or a way to connect my router to my pc. I have no free slots available inside my computer to install another networking card. My networking/internet knowledge is limited so any walkthrough's or step by step tutorials will help.
Thanks

Can you stay connected by ethernet?

For when you have a Wi-Fi connection and for when you don't ...

Please attach a screen shot of the Networks page (don't collapse the Radar, Connection or Signal History) of the Xirrus Wi-Fi Inspector. If you don't have a satisfactory email address (e.g., from your ISP) you could try http://www.pcworld.com/article/231780/xirrus_wifi_inspector.html. If you need help with a screen shot see TSG Posting a Screenshot. FWIW to take screen shots with Windows 8 or 7 or Vista I prefer to use the built-in Snipping Tool.

Also show:

Open a (black) Command Prompt window:
Hold the Windows logo key and press r; in the Run box type cmd and click on OK.

Type the following command:

IPCONFIG /ALL

[Note that there is no space between the slash and ALL.]

[Press ENTER after each command.]

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If necessary use a text file and removable media to copy the results to a computer with internet access.

Hello there I am having issues with my university's wifi as for some reason I can connect to the internet but after 15-20 min I get limited connection and then get kicked off the network. Then when I try to reconnect to the wifi it will not let me in anymore as it just says can't connect to this network.
I have tried turning wifi on and off and as well as forgetting the network but it still doesn't work. The only small fix I was able to find is forget the network and then restart my laptop and it fixes it only temporarily. My brother who has the exact same laptop as me does not have any issues with the wifi at the university except me. I have no troubles with the wifi at home as well just seems to be the problem at school.

If anyone knows a solution to this it would be greatly appreciated!

I am using an Asus X53E laptop with Windows 10, 64-bit OS
The network adapter in my laptop is a Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 Wireless Network Adapter and it is running on the latest version which is 10.0.0.326

Hi. This may be quite a long one. I'll start from the beginning.

I got my PC about 5 weeks ago, new, with a clean install of Windows already on it. The discs it came with say "Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit" so I assume that's what I have.

From the start it had problems with the wifi. It would connect, but then randomly disconnect - sometimes I could reconnect right away, other times I would tell it to connect to the network again and it would just take a while and then say "Cannot connect to [Network SSID]". Sometimes instead of this, it would simply not let me connect, saying something like "The settings on this network do not match the ones provided". This would happen whether I had changed the settings or not (sometimes changing security settings seemed to kickstart it into working; sometimes not).

This problem lasts for anywhere to between a minute and an hour. When it starts working again, seemingly randomly, it'll work for anywhere between a minute and a few days.

I tried removing the network in the Manage Wireless Networks screen and connecting again. Sometimes this worked, sometimes not. I tried removing it and then adding it manually, telling it to connect "even if not broadcasting signal". Sometimes this seemed to work, but then it would disconnect a little later again. I tried changing the security settings to WEP or WPA2 AES or WPA2 TKIP. Sometimes it seemed to work, but a lot of the time it didn't. Other times i... Read more

A:Wifi connection problems, tried so many things already.

Oh - also, when it does work, sometimes it'll show the white signal bars in the taskbar; other times it shows a red X by them (but still it works). When it isn't working it'll either show a red X, or a yellow !, or a little yellow circle.

I don't know what any of that means but it just seems that the computer gets confused about what's actually happening - which to my mind indicates possibly some kind of conflict between something and something else (e.g. telling me there's no internet connection when there is, telling me the wireless key is wrong when it isn't, and so on), but I have no idea what.

Turn off any firewalls for debugging. If the firewall is the problem, you'll have to configure it to allow access to "trusted zone" addresses. Note that some firewalls must be completely uninstalled to stop them from affecting your networking.

PING each computer by IP address, and if successful, PING by name. You can obtain the IP address of a computer by opening a command prompt (DOS window) and typing IPCONFIG. This should work for any Windows version. A failure here needs to be corrected before you go any farther.

All computers should be in the same workgroup for computer browsing to function properly. File & Print Sharing has to be enabled on any computer you wish to share files or printers from. You also need to actually share the resource in question from My Computer, right click on the drive/printer/folder, and select sharing.

If you encounter difficulties accessing computers that are visible in Network Neighborhood, make sure the computer being accessed has an account with the same name/password as the system connecting to it uses to login.

I have previously requested help with this problem, and I thought it solved by the generous help from another member, but it would seem it was only a temporary fix, as it is happening again. I am connecting to my homehub via my laptop wirelessly with the aid of a pluscom usb adapter, I have the latest drivers for this adapter installed, the problem is that every now and then, the connection will drop, only for a very short time, but long enough for windows to have to reestablish a connection and reobtain the IP address from dhcp. This is while the windows wireless zero config is handling the connection, whenever I switch over to pluscoms software, I can't get a connection to the internet, it seems to connect to the homehub although I can't bring up the homehub's settings via my web browser (Mozilla FF) or using IE. My connection used to be stable before these problems started and I was using pluscoms software to manage the connection, this is causing a really annoying problem for me because I am unable to play online games such as red alert 2 because the connection is too unstable.

EDIT
forgot to mention, I am able to connect to the internet on my PS3 without any problems, and i have tested the internet connection on my friends laptop which works no problem as well
EDIT

Any help would be much appreciated

Hi there. I might need to explain my dilemma a bit before I ask for help lol.. Well as you may know, Nintendo DS has a wifi connection in which you can have Internet on a game. I'm playing Pokemon Heart Gold on my DSi with an action replay. I've lately discovered that you can, with wifi connection, trade Pokemon over a feature in the game known as the Global Trading Service. I decided that I wanted to try it out so I could enhance my gameplay. I connected my wifi to the DSi itself, and was successful.(btw, I had to do advanced setup when setting up my internet.) So everything was going smoothly, and I could get on the Internet on the DSi. But then I realized that the game needed to he connected through The Nintendo Wifi Connection in order to trade Pokemon and what not. So I went through the process, finding my router, and placing the WEP code in the space. I did it EXACTLY how it was supposed to be put and I had no errors in the code. But when I tried to connect, it said it was invalid. I tried several times and even had my dad look at it. I don't understand what is happening!>.< The first internet connection on the DS itself works fine, but the Nintendo Wifi says everything is invalid! Its really confusing me and I can't get it I work. I've already been to Nintendo's website and tried the support page but it just confused me even more. Could you please help me! Hi,

I have a new Emachines laptop and I have had constant problems with the wireless connection (using a built in Atheros AR5007EG). I have another computer running Windows but with an external wireless card and never had any problems with that. I am using a Belking router on a Virginmedia cable connection in London, UK.

Mostly the problem was after waking from sleep mode, then I would have connection for a few minutes but then it would go down to "Local only".

I disabled IPv6 and that improved things a bit. I noticed that sometimes the browser (google chrome) would not be able to access websites and the "diagnose and repair" option for the connection would suggest restarting the wireless card or getting a new IP from the router. That would sometimes work, sometimes not. Now what I get is that even if the browser is not able to access websites at all, I can ping both IP numbers and web addresses. So obviously I do have a connection but something is still wrong. I have also added OpenDNS DNS servers just in case. Still not working.

Any ideas? Is this a fault with the Atheros drivers? Vista problem? It does not seem to be a problem with the router since the other computer works OK.

Thanks

Jordi

PC - Toshiba with Atheros AR9002WB chipset.

Symptom - After upgrading to Win 10 Pro from Win 7 Pro, my wifi connection started to periodically drop... that is, more specifically, I was unable to access any internet communications. This would happen most often overnight, but occasionally after several hours of use in the daytime.

Disabling and enabling the wifi adapter did no good... I had to completely reboot in order to restore access. Upgrading to a different/newer driver made no difference.

And then, last night, when it failed again, I found out that while I could not access the internet, I could readily access the router via its IP address typed into a browser bar.

How weird is that? It demonstrates that the wifi connection to the router is definitely present and functional.

So... back to the Win 10 PC... I check out the properties of the TCP IPv4 connection... the RadioBox "Obtain the DNS Server Address Automatically".

I unchecked this box and manually entered the IP address of my router which I have set up for external DNS lookup. As soon as I saved the changes, my internet access was restored... no reboot... no nuthin'!

I conclude there is an issue with automatically obtaining a DNS server IP address although I have no idea of how to verify, except perhaps go back to auto DNS, then the next time it fails, see what ipconfig has to say.

Cheers.

You probably are referring to diagnostic lights found along the PC ports. Is this a Dell system and what model? Depending on how those light indicators are displayed, either the first 2 are on and other 2 are off, a documentation is mostly available if you could provide the brand/model of your computer. It started with just having to try to connect a couple of times (clicking disconnect and then connect again) in the beginning. Then it took restarting the computer. And now I can't connect anymore no matter how often I try or whatever I try. Initially I got an error message regarding the IP address when using the troubleshoot, but now it just can't find the problem. I have read that it could be a problem with the WiFi driver, which may need an update for Windows 10. The driver listed is Realtek RTL8188E LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC. I have not been able to find this driver or any update for it on the Realtek website. I have not been able to find anything on the Lenovo or Windows website, or anywhere else for that matter, either. I have read posts by other users who are having similar issues, but I haven't been able to find a solution. Please let me know how I can solve this problem. Thank you.

Dear KVW,

Welcome in lenovo community,
Lenovo did not release all windows 10 drivers for the E545 laptop yet,
So you may go back to the previous windows and wait till lenovo release all the drivers.
Also you can use the below link to follow the drivers update,

This is soooo depressing.  I bought a brand new HP Envy laptop/notebook six months ago, in July 2015.  It was the most expensive laptop in the shop, but because it was Hewlett Packard and because it had serious processing power compared to the others, I spent the money and expected I would be getting a top-of-the-range product.  It worked pretty well, albeit rather slowly I thought, for about two months.  Then one day, it just seemed to 'forget' that it had a wireless adapter installed.  No wireless connection, no adapter, nothing. So I took it back to the shop and they sent it for repair.  It took 3 weeks.  It had to be factory reset, which means removing everything on it and reinstating it.  That in itself is seriously disruptive to anyone's busy life.  But I gritted my teeth and let it all happen.  It came back and it was working; it seemed to be faster and the wireless connection was uninterrupted. Until today, 3 months after the repair. Today, I wanted to print using wi-fi direct.  So I fiddled about and eventually managed to get my HP laptop talking to my HP printer in another room via wi-fi direct.  Once.  Then it stopped and would not start printing again.  So after a while I gave up on that and went back to do other stuff.  Only to find that the wifi connection was dropping out every few seconds.  Connect, Limited, gone; connect, limited, gone.  Until eventually it jus... Alright, so I was looking around online trying to solve my internet connection problems and I tried a '100% free' call line. All they did was point out the problems and try to charge me $200. '100% free' ANYWAY. The useful part is, they pointed out the problems! Hopefully you guys can help me out
Problem 1: 'My Network Access Protection Agent' has been stopped, and I can't figure out how to enable it.
Problem 2: I have some '216.52.233.124:https' listed in my active connections, and they need to be removed.
Problem 3: Maybe a symptom of the other two problems, but the reason why I initially started looking. When I look at my available wifi connections, I see multiple copies of my wifi, listed as 'Anura Borealis', 'Anura Borealis 2' 'Anura Borealis 2 3' etc all the way to 10. This has been around for a while, but the last 4 copies seem to have really killed my wifi speeds.
Problem 4: Apparently I have malware in my wifi subnet? They might have just been pulling technical terms to try and convince me to pay $200, but just in case they weren't fibbing, how do I get rid of it?

Attached is a screenshot of *hopefully* all the information that you need, and shows you what I'm talking about. If you need anything else, feel free to let me know!

Thanks again for the help

2 days ago there was a windows 10 update and it messed up wifi on my laptop. Sometimes when I grab it I notice theres no wifi connected and when I try to connect it, it just says "Cannot connect to this network". Restarting router solves it for a while but then its back to square one. All other devices connect to this network no problem.

My computer always gives me the warning sign that I have limited connection about every ten minutes. I then trouble shoot it with (what else) windows trouble shooter. It fixes it self saying "The default gateway is not available." With the "Fixed" sign to the right. Then 10 mins later its down again. This only happens when I am using the internet not when I'm editing a video or something.

Some forum members have reported a variety of Wifi issues with their G505 laptops. Their reports range from showing "Connection is limited", to Wifi connections dropping repeatedly, to being unable to make a Wifi connection at all. I combined multiple threads in order to assist forum members with troubleshooting solutions.

If your G505 was upgraded to Windows 8.0 or 8.1 and then lost connectivity, or you recently purchased a G505 running Windows 8.0 or 8.1 and are unable to connect, try following the instructions posted by Vikramsbox to restore the connection through the Lenovo Communications Utility.

For non-Windows 8.0 or 8.1 users, start troubleshooting with the basics:

The most recent WLAN, BIOS, and Power Management drivers from Lenovo can be downloaded here: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/lenovo-g-series-laptops/lenovo-g505-no...
It is also good practice to verify your Wifi is activated by following the instructions from Neokenchi.
Check Power Management settings to ensure your laptop isn't turning off the Wifi as noted by Dannyk1.
Check to see that Airplane Mode is set to OFF by following the instructions provided by Shiv_K.

After trying those steps, if you still experience a Wifi issue with your G505, other troubleshooting steps have been noted in this thread. This includes a whitelist of accepted replacement WLAN cards posted by Topmahof and a 3rd party driver which resolved wifi issues fo... Read more

I've had experience this problem for a while now on my newly built windows 10 rig. Every few hours, my Wifi simply stops working; the connection is lost. Sometimes it reconnects after a minute or so. Most of the time, I would need to manually disable/enable the wifi adapter in my Network Settings to get it back up again.

It happened with a relatively expensive adapter that I bought not to long ago - Netgear A6210 USB 3.0 dual-band wifi adapter. I found a thread about this issue here. I've not been able to resolve it with any of the tips provided (including downloading a generic 3rd party Mediatek driver). I've used this same adapter without this problem on my older Win7 machine. I thought maybe this adapter "went bad".

So I tried to replace this adapter with an older Wifi adapter made by Rosewill, using older Rosewill drivers. The same issue occurs. (Again, this Rosewill adapter worked perfectly in my Win7 system) So I have a hunch the problem is Windows 10 itself. Does it not place nicely with existing or older wifi adapters on the market? Would I need to buy a new adapter specifically certified for Windows 10?

Anyone have any insights on this would be greatly appreciated.

Although I am connected to our wireless network on the Folio 13, there is no internet connection. I can, however, connect to the internet via Wifi on two other household laptops, both of them HP, so I believe the problem is with the Folio itself. I can also connect to other computers on the network on the Folio, but something is preventing it from getting on the internet. I can only get the internet via hardwired ethernet connection on the Folio. I have tried the following fixes, multiple times, without success: -Run the Windows troubleshooter for Internet/Network. It says the connection between your access point, router, or cable modem and the internet is broken. (But not on other wifi computers here--works fine.)-Reboot/Reset the modem.-Disable/Renable the wifi adapter (Intel Centrino Wireless N 1030)-Update wifi adapter driver (it says driver is up to date)-Uninstall/reinstall wifi adapter-Remove Wifi Network from list of available networks; reboot, add this network back in-Roll back all Windows updates from the past month-Searched self-help forums for a possible solution And yes, the wifi keyboard light is blue, not orange. Can someone help please?

Hi,I have a new Aspire ES 13 (ES1-331-P4C1) with Windows 10. I can connect to my wifi-router and access the internet, but the connection randomly drops after a couple of minutes. I can reconnect (sometimes), after running the windows troubleshooter. The wifi-chip is a broadcom BCM43142. It seems, that there's an issue with the driver and/or Windows 10. Wifi works perfectly on Ubuntu-Linux booted from USB. Here's what I've already tried:- reboot of router- turn off all the energy-saving stuff in the device-manager- uninstall old drivers- install new drivers from the Acer site- install all windows updates- install driver in compatibility-mode (windows 7)- reset windows 10 (delete everything and reinstall windows from recovery) The question really is, if this is a known problem with the driver or the OS. If so, then I could install Windows 7. But I'm very close to sending the laptop back, because I really don't want to waste my time fixing a newly bought, preconfigured laptop. Thanks in advance

I had similar problem with ES15.  It started by dropping wifi after about one hour of use, then got worse...Also was plagued with the infamous "red x" over the network icon down in tray at bottom. After slight improvement when I updated the firmware (it was out of date), problem degraded to point that I could not connect at all, even with re-booting. Finally, even no internet with ethernet!   Problem finally solved by doing the following: press "control/alt/delete" all at once, select "Task Manager",click "Services Tab" at top, click "status" tab on line just below the tabs: this will re-sort the services alphabetically together according to their status's (ie running, stopped)...click again on status until all the services in the top  of the list you are seeing all say "stopped". Carefully begin going down the list top to end of services that are stopped, any stopped service that contains a reference to network, connection, connectivity, discovery,x-box,wireless, LAN, WAN, homegroup,:click on it (memorize the service name), right click on it: select "open services" find that service in the alphabetical list,(notice the descriptions here are very detailed now) RIGHT CLICK IT, select "Properties" select "Start", If startup type is not "Automatic", select "Automatic", click apply. Go back to the previous services page, continue down the list from previous service (that you just changed) and find the next one, repeat above steps. It may be fast... My laptop connects fine... but all of a sudden it just stops connecting to the internet. However the connection has a strong signal and still says it is connected...but it just lags and doesnt connect. Then it'll come back for little while. Sometimes I'll repair the wireless connection and it works again but only for a few minutes.

But here's a spooky thing....all this doesn't happen when i unplug my AC! that's right I'll have it plugged in to the power outlet, and wifi comes and goes...as soon as i unplug it and it runs on battery...the internet works fine...yikes

A:Solved: wifi connection coming and going..but LAN connection is fine

I can't see your exact positioning, but it sounds like you need to move your "brick" so that it is not interfering with the wireless signal when plugged in. When I forget, and start getting the same thing, I move mine at least a foot away from the wireless adaptor and out of the path to the router.

Dear all,
I generally have good WiFI connection, but in two rooms so I am running a TP-Link system for Wifi through my powernet, which provides me with WiFI in our working space. No problems here.
I have been noticing that on my laptop, when I sit in the living space, my internet connection is dropping WITHOUT losing connection to the WiFi network. This makes me reset my adapter but mostly without succes. Sometimes it spontaneously regains internet connectivity. This happens at random (to me). My cell phone doesn't have the same problem, nor does my GF's computer.
I notice that when i go back to the workspace (where wifi is distributed through my TP-link), more often then not I instantly regain connection. Which makes me think this is a problem of IP adress that is different when switching from Wifi through router and Wifi through TP-link?

Here is the runout for my ipconfig /all and
Output for 'netsh wlan show all'
