I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Check loose connections. For me, that error mesage looks like the interface has lost communication with the unit. As you don't mention which brand the unit is, I can't give you more details... Post reply if you can.

Try clearing the browser cache and temp files.

Did you check the spelling of the sites. The first site you posted isn't registering.

So I have recently bought a new GPU for my pc build, (AMD R9 290), fitted it and installed all the newest drivers since having fitted it the PC keeps on powering down and rebooting. Three times in one night etc. It's not under and load or at any specific point, can do it at idle it just seems to be completely random. Event log says this every time;
"A fatal hardware error has occurred.

Component: AMD Northbridge
Error Source: Machine Check Exception
Error Type: HyperTransport Watchdog Timeout Error
Processor ID: 0"

As the GPU was new and a big step up from previous I thought it could possibly be the PSU, so since bought a Corsair 850W psu (over specced) but wanted to make sure it would be okay.
Error is still happening obviously.
I have updated to the latest BIOS from the asus website. I have done a memory check using memtest 86 all fine.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers for the GPU but still the same problem.
Processor is AMD FX-4170 not over clocked, I just dont know what the problem could be.
I was hoping if any of you guys could shed any light on it.
Any response would be greatly appreciated, thank you in advance!
(hope it all makes sense I have typed this quickly in fear of it rebooting haha!)
Can upload the mini dumps if that will help.
Thanks guys!

A:HyperTransport Watchdog Timeout Error

Check your voltage that your cpu is getting. This problem occurs between the AMD Northbridge and the cpu. Find out a) What the voltage that the cpu is supposed to be receiving, b) what the actual voltage the cpu is receiving via the BIOS, and c) if the voltage is off either set it to the recommended specs and if that isn't the case edge up the voltage in the BIOS and see if that brings stability.

I have installed Nero 6 (v6.3.0.0) on my computer running Windows Me.

I can listen to audio CD's, write audio CD's, copy from one data CD to another, and read software data from a CD.

But when I try to write data to a CD, the process starts but then hangs. My hard disk access light stays on all the time and the light on the CD drive flashes. After about 2 mins the Nero log tells me there is a timeout error.

Because the process doesn't go to normal end of job I don't get any log from the program.

The data I want to write are jpg files, but the same thing happens when I try to write a small Word document. I have tried it with and without my anti-virus, but it makes no difference. I tried creating a mixed disk of audio and data. The audio was written OK, but the data hung the system.

Any suggestions appreciated.

I recently build a new system and I have been having trouble getting it up and running. I am encountering several issues, but this BSOD is the only one that gives me any information. Here is what is in the system:

New Items:
Intel i5-4690k
Gigabyte GA-Z97X-SLI
CoolerMaster Hyper TX3
Corsair Vengence Pro 8gbx2 DDR3
Rosewill RNX-N250PC2 Wireless N card
Thermaltake TR2 TR700 700W power supply
Thermaltake Commander G41 case
Transcend MTS800 M.2 SSD

Items from older PC:
Asus GTX 670
Various HDDs from older systems, one of which still has Win 8 installed.

Upon boot, I get one of three issues occuring.

1) BSOD with the watchdog timeout error
2) An 0xc000000e error
3) system locks up at Windows logo with spinning ring, just after the start page loads, or while using the system within 5 minutes of startup.

I have tried putting the ram in single and dual channels. I have verified they are in the correct slots with the Gigabyte manual. I have run them one at a time. So, I think if it was memory, both sticks would have to be faulty.

I have tried installing and re-installing windows to the SSD multiple times. The furthest I have gotten was setting up my Windows account. After the following reboot I ALWAYS start getting error 1, and sometimes get error 2 before the Windows load screen. I have tried downloading different copies of Windows online just to make sure I didn't have a bad copy. I figured I could update my license ... Read more

Hi everyone!

First of all, I was not quite sure of the forum's section where I should post this issue. Please relocate it if i made a mistake! :) I hope someone will be able to help!

Description of the problem. A few weeks ago, Chrome started having trouble accessing websites. It would load the results of a search, but wouldn't allow to load the websites themselves. Soon, the same thing happened on Firefox, the only other browser I currently have. After some time, none of them even loaded the results of a search; despite the fact that the connection (wi-fi) is, and has always been, very good. I don't know exactly what triggered the problem; since i haven't downloaded anything of a suspicious origin lately (or opened a suspicious .exe). Features of other programs that require an internet connection (ex: Avast or Steam updates) cannot proceed either. I tried to connect to several boxes, but the problem remained.

Here are the things I did to try to solve it, and the results:

- Turned off and on the box. --> Access to the sites came back to normal, but only during two hours or so: after that the connection timed out again. Restarting the box again did nothing.

- Ran a boot-time scan with Avast, and a full scan. --> It did nothing.

- Did some cleaning with CC Cleaner. --> Didn't help either.

- Used my phone as a hot-spot, and connected my PC to it. --> Access to websites came back during two hours, then stopped working.

- Looked for similar prob... Read more

I'm getting a timeout error when using Universal Virus Sniffer to check for active file infections. I'm not sure how this is supposed to work but it downloads a randomly named file to:

C:\Users\Chris\Desktop\Toolbox 2\Universal Virus Sniffer\random.exe

The file does launch as shown by the process log:

However nothing happens and I get a Timeout error message.

I've tried a few times hence different file names are shown in the screenshots.

I've tried disabling anything that I can think of that could be interfering with this file. Disabled Firewall, Auto-Sandboxing and other stuff.

Does anyone have a suggestion on how to resolve this?

A:Timeout error when launching a file

After running a ProcMon capture I see the following:

Inspection of the folder reveals that "C:\Users\Chris\Desktop\Toolbox 2\Universal Virus Sniffer\ui" does not exist even after reinstalling the software. If I create a folder named ui will that solve the issue?

EDIT: That didn't work!

A:timeout error using nero burning rom

Hi Ė welcome to the board.

Easy solution Ė skip the stupid simulation. You only have a problem if you canít write a CD. You donít necessarily have a problem if you canít do a test burn. There doesnít seem to be any relationship between a successful simulation and a successful burn, so most people learn to just skip the test and go straight to the burn.

Make sure your Nero is up to date: http://www.nero.com/en/download.htm and go to your burner manufacturerís site and get the latest firmware.

Hello,I hope someone can help. My computer was running really slow recently, so I upgraded Avast Antivirus and spybot. I downloaded CCleaner and Comodo Internet Security and now everything works great except now my wife can't log on to her community college website (www.ccp.edu). She goes to www.ccp.edu and clicks on myccp, enters her username and password and it automatically says 'Session Timeout'. Every other website and login is fine. Any help????? Thank you in advance.Edit: Moved topic from XP to the more appropriate forum. ~ Animal

A:Session Timeout Error when logging into website

Hi lpac1,Comodo Internet Security is a security suite, meaning it has both a firewall and an antivirus program in it. If you are running both Comodo Internet Security and Avast, you have two antivirus programs running, and you need to uninstall one of them. The problem with your wife's connection is likely a firewall program. She will need to talk to the IT department at the community college and ask them for instructions. But first, try uninstalling Comodo and see if you still have the same problem. Comodo has a standalone firewall which is very good here: http://www.personalfirewall.comodo.com/dow...d_firewall.htmlLet me know if this helps.Zllio

Unable to authenticate original disc within time limit. Please have a look at http://www.securom.com/message.asp?m=timeout for further, more detailed information.I tried uninstalling the whole game(game and expansion) then reinstalling it. So i thought the CD was corrupt and bought a new one. still didnt workI managed to install one of the four expansion games and the upgrades for the original game (dont know how) but mostly kept getting the same error msg when installing or installation freezes.

I have been running Win 10 on my other units and never had this issue. After reviewing docs on the issue, I tried to download all the current drivers from HP website only to be told there are none and maybe in development. I just purchaseed this laptop for my sister from Microsoft website and am about to return it with the issues I have had with it. I updates the os to 1151 and installed Office 2013 Pro Plus and was in the process of updating when this screen appeared. I have run a sfc/scannow with no error and am in the process of running a chkdsk /r .Any and all help wopuld be greatly appreciated. Bob

Alright, so every time I print out a Microsoft Word 2007 document, my document prints out, but there is always an extra page that prints out afterwards that contains the following message:

"ERROR: timeout
OFFENDING COMMAND: timeout

STACK:

Can anyone help me diagnose the problem, or stop this extra page from printing?

NEARLY every website I try to load gets the following message:

Network Timeout
The server at blahblahblah.com is taking too long to respond.

The requested site did not respond to a connection request and the browser has stopped waiting for a reply.

* Could the server be experiencing high demand or a temporary outage? Try again later.
* Are you unable to browse other sites? Check the computer's network connection.
* Is your computer or network protected by a firewall or proxy? Incorrect settings can interfere with Web browsing.
* Still having trouble? Consult your network administrator or Internet provider for assistance.

This only began happening AFTER I installed SP1. I have since uninstalled it.

SP1 created a WAN Miniport issue, that I also corrected.

After I uninstalled the WAN miniport, things were working pretty well until tonight. Now I am getting the error, and download speeds as low as 46kpbs. I connected to my router with a cable instead of wirelessly and the same thing happens.

Please help! Any advice that can be offered would be greatly appreciated.

I had the same problem. I had just installed AGV anti-virus, which includes a link checker and a webshield. i disabled them both and restarted the web browser and my internet works fine now. I suggest you check your anti-virus program and your firewall try disabling them for a min, just to see if they are causing the problem.

Whenever I try to copy large files over a wireless network (Laptop > Desktop) I get the following error:-

Error 0x80070079: The semaphore timeout period has expired

I've done a search on Google and have found that a number of other users are having the same problem, but no-one seems to have a fix for it.

Can anyone help?

(I'm running Vista Ultimate on both my Laptop & Desktop)

Hello Ady,

Thanks for your post!

This issue may be a little complex and require some steps to troubleshoot:

1.††† Update the driver of wireless network adapters in both of your computers.
2.††† Temporarily disable all the firewalls and anti-virus applications, then check the issue again.
3.††† To exclude the factors from other services and applications, do a clean boot to check the issue and perform Step 4.(KB929135) How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vistahttp://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;929135
4.††† With clean boot, try to apply the†hotfixes contained in the following KB articles:(KB932045) Error message when you use a network connection to copy a large file from one Windows Vista-based computer to another Windows Vista-based computer: "The connection has been lost"
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;932045(KB932063) Several problems occur on a Windows Vista-based computer when you work in a wireless network environment
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;932063
If problem still persists after steps above, this issue is very possibly due to network devices or configurations, please let me know:

1.††† Whether this problem occurs in wired network?
2.††† If strengthening the network signals, the problem can be changed?
3.††† What size of files will lead to this error.
4.††† Does this error terminate the copy process?

So I did a search and found nothing definitive regarding this particular error in my application.

I have a Dell laptop with an i7 processor, an SSD drive and 8g of ram, running Win7 Pro 64 bit.

I put a 128G micro sd card into the sd card adapter and slapped into the slot. When I try to move files to the card, I get the error.

I formatted the card just for grins. It won't format NTFS, but it did format exFat @ default allocation unit size.

The only file that didn't copy was one that's 21 megs in size. Everything else was smaller and copied over fine.

Donno what to do from here. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Sarge

I am in desperate need of help for the last couple of months I have been getting the errors described in the title above on a fairly frequent basis. at first i thought it may have been related to a hot swap drive i was using as every time i plug my ssd into that and then unplug it my system insists that it runs a scan of every drive for errors. in the last two months after this problem began I bought a brand new PSU. and Heatsink I have tried to reasearch these errors and usually fix 99% of what goes wrong within my system myself but this has me completely defeated. any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Iíve recently begun experiencing a very frustrating problem with sending email. I have multiple email accounts through my ISP (Charter 3 MB) and an external provider (iPowerWeb). I have tried both Eudora 6.2 and Outlook Express. In both programs, I can receive all email messages without incident, but cannot successfully send mail 98% of the time. Both programs report a connection timeout error, although Eudora will occasionally send a message with success that I had previously attempted to send multiple times without luck. Every other Internet and network related task works without a hitch.

Iíve verified all my SMTP, POP, etc. information and have also tried turning authentication and SSL options on and off. The settings are all identical to what Iím using on another computer on my home network that has no problems sending mail using Eudora or Outlook. Both systems are running Windows XP with SP2. The system that can send has Norton AV 2005 installed, while the system that canít send has Avast. Both computers are connected to the ĎNet via my Linksys router and I havenít changed any router settings on either system.

Iíve been scouring the forums and help sections of Eudora, Microsoft, and Charter, trying to self diagnose. Iíve done my best to try to troubleshoot this problem and have had no luck so far. Here are the possible causes I found and any actions I took regarding each:

*Charter blocks port 25*

Hi

Please publish your "Speccy" snapshot following https://www.piriform.com/docs/speccy/using-speccy/publishing-a-speccy-profile-to-the-web and post the web address with next reply.

Also copy and zip all the crash dump files inside "C:\Windows\Minidump" folder ( disable UAC to do that ) and upload with next reply. You can use 7-zip to create the archive which will be considerably smaller when compared with standard zip.

Also download and run "Minitoolbox" from the below link.

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/minitoolbox/

Run the tool and only select the following tick boxes.

List last 10 Event viewer errors
List installed program
List users, partition and memory size
List Minidumps

Now click "Go" and post the output displayed in next reply.

I havent had this problem with any other game so far but i dont think its a problem on EA's part because i dont play any games as graphic intensive as this one.
