I just bought a new Lenovo YOGA 500 Intel® HD Core? i5 Processor, 8Gb RAM, 1Tb Storage, 15.6 inch Full HD Touchscreen 2-in-1 Laptop. I'm yet to take it out of the packaging (thank heavens) before I noticed on the website I bought it from under Features of the Laptop it states: Wifi Enabled: NDoes this mean there's no WiFi capabilities on the laptop? Secondly, after perusing this forum, I've discovered the laptop seems to have a WiFi issue, the question thus is would any of you with the same laptop advise I keep it? Thanks

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I recently did a Windows 10 update to my Lenovo Yoge Ideapad  11 S on July 16th and now my touch screen does not work. When I check the drivers for my monitor and touch screen I noticed the driver was missing. I cannot get Lenovo or Microsoft to fix this. What else can I do to get that driver back ?

From what I can see, your unit does not seems to have made the list, which leads me to believe that this will be the cause of the issue, I would recommend that you revert back to the previous version of Windows, and observe if the fault still occurs or not.

Hey yall, so I just downloaded Windows 8.1 and suddenly I cannot connect to my university's wifi anymore. It isnt an internet problem per say, because i can still connect with an ethernet cable, but it just is not picking up any wifi! And i dont think the wifi is the issue because I can still get it on my phone. PLEASE HELP I HAVE FINALS coming up and need to be able to Use Wifi!!!! Thanks in advance!!!

Open Device Manager and uninstall the WLAN 802.11 driver "Place a check on the Delete driver software for this device ". The hit on scan for Hardware Changes.
Delete the driver again until it does not show you a check box for deleting driver software then Restart the computer.
 
Now install this
Intel WLAN Driver for Windows 8.1
Then try reconnecting again.

I am the owner of a brand new Lenovo Yoga 720, 13" screen, and the internet is pretty slow over wifi. I am getting download speeds 2x or 3x higher on my iPhone and on my wife's Macbook Air, and not sure why that would be the case as all devices are connected to the same wifi network. Anyway, any help would be much appreciated from the community. Hello!Recently I've changed the thermal compound on the CPU of my Lenovo Yoga 2 pro. Before the change there were no problems. But now I have 2:- Wifi isn't working. Network adapter isn't detected by the laptop. It just doesn't show up. Funny thing is that bluetooth works!- Right USB isn't working, no idea why.Everything else seems okay. Any solutions? Tips? I reset the notebook with the One Key Recovery application.
The notebook has been reset but can not find the WIFI card. It disappeared, it seems that it does not exist. The ethernet icon appears in the bar below the windows and the only possibility is to create a VPN connection. I do not know how to do it ... restoring the notebook with one recovery should not have these problems

Hi Guys, I have a Lenovo Yoga 2 laptop. This is the second time I have had issues with the WiFi dropping out frequently.  The first time was when I first downloaded windows 10 - I downloaded a new driver from the Lenovo website and everything worked perfectly.  The last couple of months it has been playing up again. My phone and any other devices will be connected to the internet however my laptop will repeatedly disconnect from the internet, this happens a ridiculous amount of times everyday - and it's not just my home wifi! Im currently at my university library and it does the same thing. It just drops out randomly and says "not connected - no connects are available" I have to keep restarting my laptop for it to reconnect to the internet (I know that's probably not the best thing to do but it's the only thing that sometimes works). I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver software, I've scanned for hardware changes and nothing comes up?? Has anyone got any ideas on anything else I could try?  Thank you all!

I have a Lenovo Yoga 3 pro 1370 running Window 10 build 10586.104This is a fresh install less than one week old. I conducted a fresh install in an effort to solve a problem I have been having for over amonth now.With the WiFi network adapter enabled I am unable to move the laptop nor move the screen as this causes the entire system to freeze requiring a full reboot. Hello, The WiFi adapter is the Intel Dual Band wireless-ac 3160 and the drivers are from October 2017, the Device Manager is showing the network card as working without issues and nothing is reporting any problems, yet I am unable to simply turn the WiFi ON. The operating system is Windows 10 and I have tried the following: - enabling the WiFi interface using the command prompt (says it is already enabled)- trying older drivers for the Intel Dual Band wireless-ac 3160 (still will not turn ON)- opening the laptop and disconnecting the two wires from the WiFi module, then reconnecting (still no difference)- disabling and then re-enabling the Wireless in BIOS (no difference)- loading default settings in BIOS (no difference)- installing Windows 8.1 from scratch (same problem)- re-installing Windows 10 (same problem)- installed all of the Lenovo utilities and Companions I could find (still nothing)- windows troubleshooting simply tells me to switch the WiFi ON using either a hardware switch (which does not exist on this notebook) or the software switch using the keyboard - I press the F7 for airplane mode and it says that it goes into that mode, then pressed again and it simply goes back to WiFi which is turned OFF and showing the red X What is interesting is that when I booted TAILS from a USB drive the WiFi worked without issues, so this is obviously a software problem. Any suggestions?

Recently there was a Wifi Driver issue, which got resolved when the service guy came and replaced it, 6-8 weeks ago. After that my Wifi works fine but has a bit of a performance issue - It takes some time to identify Wifi Networks. If I switch on my bluetooth, the wifi performance degrades more, i.e. more time to identify network and the speeds of download/upload deteriorates a lot (A video in Youtube 720p quality is brought down to 144p).In addition it seems to take a lot of time for my bluetooth to identify a device. Does the Wifi and Bluetooth share the antennas? If so does this mean the antenna have a problem now?Is there a way to troubleshoot this? maybe by checking speed on Wifi and bluetooth.

I odn't have that model, but just in case what you can always try is to get the latest wireless driver, sometimes I have some issues with some older wifi drivers.
 
Check the support site and see if there is a newer driver for the wifi. Check your "WIndows Device Manager" and see the version of the driver you have installed for the wireless adapter.
 
I also like to test the wifi with different routers on some other networks just be sure that is not a local problem of my router too.
 
It is also good the check the maintenance manual of your model to see the cables and the antennas. I'm not sure if that is exactly your model, but it seems it was two antennas for the WAN network and 2 for the LAN. It does not specify anything about the bluetooth.

Here is my situation (read carefully): I never had wifi problems with my 1st gen Lenovo Yoga running Windows 8 64-bit. Always super fast wifi and 5 bars on the icon. One morning, I couldn't connect to my home wifi (unidentified network), but I had no problem on my Android phone. I called my Internet provider and they "separated" the 2.4GHz channel (made for further distances, but slower) and the 5GHz channel (for shorter distances, faster). From then on, I could see the 2.4GHz on my laptop, but not connect to it and I couldn't see the 5GHz.On my phone, I could see both. As I obviously suspected a problem with the Realtek RTL8723A network adapter on my laptop, I reinstalled the driver, which partly solved the problem, as I can now surf the Internet on the 2.4GHz, but still can't see the 5GHz.Plus, I only have 1 bar on the icon, even though I'm 2m from the router. Is there anything I could do to see both channels, just like on my phone, and be able to use the faster 5GHz channel? Thanks

Hi, I bought a brand new Lenovo Yoga 910 series laptop, costing a fortune. Its not even 20 days since I bought this laptop, I am seeing the wifi adaptor losing the connection within 5 mins of usage. Whats worse, it causing my wifi router to jam as well, and all of my other devices loses connection. I have few other devices, including a lenovo thinkpad, where i never faced any issues till date.  After some research I found out that the wifi adaptor in the lenovo yoga is Qualcomm Atheros QCA61x4a  and it has lots of issues on Windows 10 and people are complaining on multiple forums about it since couple of years. Suprising that Lenovo nor Microsoft nor Qualcomm has not fixed it yet or I couldnt find a proper solution till now.  It is such a bad customer experience, that such a basic thing like wifi connectivity is not working properly on such a high end laptop. I feel I just made a bad decision of buying this waste device instead of a Mac book Pro. Hope someone from Lenovo fixes this for me or else I shall return this device.

Hi My laptop is just 3 months old, has been working fine up till  now. All of a sudden it won't connect to wifi, or it will for a second then go off again. Yesterday all options for wifi went completely missing, in the toolbar on the bottom right hand side, the icon for wifi had dissappearEd and when I went into settings,wifi settings had gone from there too. The icons are back now and I could connect to my wifi, but it says there is no Internet connection. There is Internet through the wifi though because I'm using my phone on the wifi!! I tried to disconnect from the wifi and economy again but it has been trying to connect to the wifi for the last 10 mins! I bought a third-party USB-C to ethernet adapter to test my internet speed and found that it is not much faster than if I use the wifi. I always thought that LAN speed is faster than Wifi? Hi all. Nice to meet you. I have a Lenovo Yoga 720 and am noticing two issues.  First, whenever I am on Wifi, my connection will occasionally drop and restart. It is becoming a challenge especially during Skype calls and even simple tasks like browsing. My wifi appears to be OK because I have another PC and Mac that does not have any connectivity issues. Is there something I can do investigate and solve this issues?Moreover, I have connected my Microsoft Sculpt Mouse which had worked great on another PC's. While I can connect it with my Yoga, the connection frequently drops and takes a couple of seconds to re-establish itself. If anything, these issues have become a pain. Any suggestions/ideas on how to rectify the situation would be greatly appreciated!

Can you please post the full model number of your Thinkpad Yoga 14?
Are you using Windows 10?
 
I may suggest you first to try to update the Wifi drivers and maybe some other of the system driver of you Yoga.
Here are my general tips:
 
1) Try first Windows Update and update all the drivers and Patches
2) Try Lenovo System Update to get any new/missing drivers.
3) Try to install Lenovo Settings and Lenovo Companion from the Windows App Store, Lenovo Companion also has a "update driver search"
4) Sometimes all that software does not recognize some updated / missing driver. Check Lenovo's Support Site and search for your specific model drivers (use the full model number of your Thinkpad).
 
After that we can try a little bit more. For example I also like to test it on some other Wifi networks just to be sure it is not a compatibility issue with the Wifi Router.

Hello, Recently my CEO had bought a Lenovo Yoga 910-13IKB. It came with win10 preinstalled. I had worked on it for about 10 minutes and than the problem showed up: our local WiFi network dissapeared. I immediatelly took my laptop and searched for WiFi networks but no there was no my SSID at all. Then I had restarted WiFi router and network showed Up, but as soon Yoga connected, same again no network. I googled for solution and I did uninstall EMC and Lenovo Utility but that did not resolved the problem. Then I had tried to uninstall all drivers and than download and install them again but still the problem is there. Wherever Yoga connects WiFi dies. I found that some routers recognize something like DDos attack and so I dissabled that option on routers but again problem is there. Please can u give me solution to this problem because my CEO thinks that I am not capable of doing my Job (IT technician/Network administrator). Best wishes Adis

I'm having very inconsistent wifi performance on my Yoga 910. This has the Qualcomm Aetheros network adapter. I already installed the latest drivers from lenovo site. I also adjusted the power settings for maximum performance on both plugged in and battery. I have full signal... I'm maybe 15 feet away from my router. My phone is getting nearly 100Mb/s and my expensive new laptop is struggling to hit 2Mb/s right now. I've searched and tried any and all fixes. It seems that a restart will usually get the speed back up, but only temporarily. I check resources and don't see any process or service using the wifi, yet the speed tanks like crazy. As an example, I was barely able to hit 2Mb, restarted and now its hitting 150Mb every time. After about 5 minutes, speeds are back down to 2-5Mb tops. What's going on here? -- Ed

Are you also seeing WHEA-logger errors being reported in the Event Viewer? Does it help if you connect using the 2.4GHz band instead of the 5GHz band?
 
There's clearly something wrong, but whether it's really the hardware or the driver software is difficult to tell at this point. I've put a service call into Lenovo. I'll see what that brings.

Ok so no one seems to be able to help me. I spent over a thousand and this pc is no good on wifi.How can i fix this???  It is so unreliable and slow.. sometimes just useless.  Please help if you can.So does this machine not work with certain routers. I need to know.   my router is a Actiontec from Verizon. it is not old but not new. Do the Lenovo yoga 700s just not work well with Actiontec?  it has never had the speeds i should have ..not even close and sometimes just crawls. Terrible experience.  Do you suggest i get a newer router?  Who out there has had issues with WIFI with their Lenovo.  NO one from lenovo can help me with this so please let me know your experience. I bought the Lenovo Yoga 900 a week ago. So far I'm quite happy with the Laptop , but there's one problem I have. The Fan starts spinning wildly every so often . And this drains my battery real quick. I get only about 4-5 hours . It happens while surfing using fiefox / chrome / edge. Task Manager shows that the CPU/ MEMORY Usage of the browsers is extremely high , in turn driving my cpu to a utilization of above 60% with no other apps running .This is a serious bummer , and I have no clue as to what can be done . As if this isn't enough , Windows Compatibility Telemetry is another service that occasionally causes a spike in the CPU usage. That I understand is a Windows issue. But the fan is quite disturbing. Any suggestions would be great  Thanks

I recently purchased a P40 Yoga and am happy with it, however I have problem with my Wifi + Bluetooth which I have not had before. I have always used Bluetooth and Wifi together with no problems. THE PROBLEM:When I turn on my Bluetooth, Wifi disconnects immediately. No networks are found anymore.  I have been using the same Wifi connection, so no changes there. I assume this is not an interference problem, because it has always worked great, so it must be a software problem. I also noticed that I have quite a weak connection although I'm close by the router What I have done:- Uninstalled Bluetooth and let windows reinstall- Reinstalled driver for Wifi- Install lastest driver for Wifi from Intel (19.20)- Checked router (channels [due to interference], proximity, etc.) What else could I do?

I looked around and didn't see any other posts exactly describing this issue, so sorry if others have already brought this up. I have a 720 13" that's acting very odd.  It'll sometimes go partially (showing only a 1/2 inch at the top of the screen) or completely black.  This happens mostly at the office.  When I walk it out of the office (and out of range of WiFi), it flickers a bit and starts displaying correctly.  I can turn airplane mode on, head back in the office, and it's fine.  As soon as it connects to the company WiFi again, it'll crap out on the display within a few minutes. When it's blacked out, I can still see the mouse if I move it up there, but can't see anything but streaks of dark grey distortion on the rest of the black screen.  Sometimes, the black area while very slowly drop down (1 pixel row at a time).  Other times, it stays that way indefinitely.  I've tried reinstalling the display, chipset, and power management drivers.  It happens at home and on cell phone tethering, but not nearly as often. Super odd issue.  It's 5 months old and still under warranty.  Anyone else having this issue?

Last year I had the laptop sent to Lenovo to replace my screen because my brightness would not change. Since then, the wifi adapter would "disappear*" randomly, though not often, sand I would have to reinstall the intel WLAN drivers to fix it. I though it wasn't going to be a problem. However, in the past two days, the wifi driver would disappear every time I turn on the laptop. Reinstallation did not bring it back and repairs did not work. I had to resort to using an external wireless adapter.The volume down button seems to be stuck down, not physically but more like it was "stickied".*disappear- the drivers would be missing, not disabled. Device manager does not show a wifi adapter existing.

So I have a new Lenovo Yoga 710 14". When I use the webcam on messenger to chat with my wife, I can see myself, I can hear her, but I cannot see her. It's just a black screen. My wife can see me perfectly through her phone so I know it's something on my end. Any idea what it could be? I mean, I can hear her but can't see her

I don't know if this will help you or not, but when I upgraded my yoga 2 pro to windows 10, I had to go into device manager and manualy update the graphics drivers. Windows would not do it automatically. Maybe that would help fix your issue.

Hi Guys.Need help.I have Lenovo Yoga 2 11 ( 2years old). There was no issue till 2 days back. Have given the issue details below.Details :1. Laptop went into issue - " Windows is not responding" and then got shut down.2. Tried to restart. After booting, the screen did show that "Windows is attempting repair". It was in the same state for more than 24 hours.3. I did a hard shut down and tried to restart. But then it displayed "No Bootable device, hit any key".4. I downloaded Windows Recovery media (Windows 10 X64) to USB and booted from there to fix windows start up issue repair.5. After repair, tried to reboot. Faces the issue (point 3) again and again.6. Looked into the BIOS set up and found that nothing is there under 'EFI section'. The Boot mode is 'UEFI' and not allowing me to edit, so can't change it to Legacy.7. Browsed through Lenovo support forum and other web help for a day, tried everything, but not able to change boot set up or boot from harddrive.8. I thought Hard drive may have been disconnected, but on BIOS Information section, I can see Hard disk information. So it seems hard disk is good. Can anybody help me with valuable input please ? I have attached all the screenshots in this thread.Is Hard disk damaged ?What can be the cause behind it not booting from HD and not allowing me to change the Boot mode to Legacy ? No boot device found.BIOS Info with HD detailsBIOS Config sectiionBIOS Security sectionBIOS Boot sectionNo bootable device/option

Hi all,  I have bought 2 weeks ago an Lenovo Yoga 2 13, and I?m very happy with it. But i have one annoying problem with it.The touchscreen is not working correct. If I start the computer up, the first 5 minutes it works fine, but after that the touchscreen is not responding correct, the pointer is going everywhere and zig zag. You can't use it anymore then. I have made a paint drawing to show the problem, i made a few horizontal lines over the screen. none of the lines are straightI hope that you can help me to resolve the problem, it?s very annoying that I can?t use the touchscreen.

We own a Lenovo Yoga 910 and in the last couple days, it is no longer able to charge.  The battery is currently at 13%.  The following 4 situations happen when the power cable (lenovo 45w usb c that came with the laptop) is plugged into the laptop.1) The laptop does not recgonize that the power cable is plugged in at all. 2) In rapid succession, the laptop acts as if the cable is being plugged in and unplugged over and over. The power cable icon will display for about a second, then dissapear, then display, then dissapear, etc.  It will even change the brightness of the screee as it attempts to switch power modes from battery to power.  The only way to stop this behavior is to unplug the cord completely. 3) The laptop shows that the power cord is plugged in, but states that the battery is currently discharging.4) The laptop shows that the power cord is plugged in, says its charging, but the battery continues to drain even though it says it is charging. Windows 10 is fully up to date.  We have run all Lenovo software updates so all Lenovo software is up to date.  The BIOS is also up to date (the June '17 BIOS).  There have been no recent new software installations or physical impacts / changes to the laptop. I have purchaced a 3rd party charger that matches the specs of the Lenovo charger and the same 4 situations happen.  I have confirmed that the charger works to charge other devices. I purchased a Lenovo Yoga 700-11ISK six days ago.  Like others posts I have read, I too have noticed a strong unpleasant odour eminating from the exterior of my computer.  The smell is mainly coming from the top lid (screen) of the computer.  It reminds me of the smell cats leave when they have 'sprayed' their territory.  If the PC has been in a room all day, the smell is quite overpowering when I come home in the evening.   I was thinking of wiping the surface but I do not want to cause any damage until I have received advice on the matter.

Dear Lenovo-team, I have an issue with my Yoga 720-13IKB (Type 81C3) Laptop.First, is it normal that the right hinge is only on the right connected to the frame?And second, the little black plastic square left to the left hinge and right to the right hing is moveable almost loose. Is that correct? Best,SF

Hello - Have a Yoga 3 Pro that has suddenly decided not to charge. Has been working fine until recently... life of charged battery has been normal and the charging time has been normal as well. I swapped out chargers, and the new one did not work, so I'm assuming it is an issue with the connector on the laptop body. When I push the power button, the orange light blinks three times and nothing else happens. Is there any way to get this to charge, even if temporarily? Thanks in advance.

I have a Lenovo Yoga 2 laptop just over a year old. My Autistic little man was happily playing Roblox when it crashed. He turned it off and on again and the laptop says repairing disk errors and just stays like that day and night. So I have bought Windows 10 on USB as it doesn't have a disk drive but and I stupidly thought it would be as simple as plugging it in the USB drive and hey presto it would be fixed. But it's not.

Could anyone explain the steps I need to take to fix it as I promised my son I'd get it done by now and when you set an Autistic child's expectations and you don't meet them, woe betide you!

Please help.

Hi, I purchased new Lenovo Yoga 910. From day one I am facing charging problem.1) When connected to charging USB-C port it does not charge and there is no light2) After some days it began charging and I feel some shock on the laptop3) Now when I connect the charger, the charging light is on but it is not charging instead battery percentage drops. However when I shutdown the laptop the battery percentage increase. Any suggestions to resolve the above.

I have a Lenovo Ideapad Yoga 13, which came with an i5-3337U processor, 4GB RAM and 128SSD. I replaced the ram with http://www.integralmemory.com/sites/default/files/uploads/dpdf/IN3V8GNAJKXLV.pdf as I often found that 4gb wasn't enough. My laptop is now running at about 60 degrees celcius for each core. I don't know what it was before as I hadn't measured it before, but the fans sound louder. Have i installed ram that isn't compatible or something? It runs well and multitasking is now better, it just seems louder and hotter than before. Thanks in advance.

So here is a new thing that happens with this Yoga 700.It was on my desk in lap top mode and i was away. i came back and had to log in to windows.When i logged in, the screen was sideways.  Another time it was flipped upside down.  This is not due to moving it. it was just on my desk with no change to it.  So add this to the list of weird things this pc does.  This would go under annoying.  the slow wifi connections would be more annoying though.
