Can't get Pressure Sensitivity to work X230t

Q: Can't get Pressure Sensitivity to work X230t

So, I recently bought this X230 tablet/computer from a friend, but unfortunately, I cannot get pressure sensitivity to work, and it is rather frustrating. I have Windows 10, and Photoshop CS6. Any ideas?(Additionally, I apologize in advance-- I know pretty much nothing about Windows or lenovo in general. I have used a Mac for my whole life, and honestly, I am still getting used to the different key commands).

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

7 works with WACOM tablet OOB, but there's no pressure sensitivity. If you install WACOM drivers you get pressure sensitivity but you lose almost all features of tablet PC support, e.g. the cursor becomes a normal mouse, you don't get the virtual keyboard side panel, and the right click doesn't work as designed. Has anyone resolved this issue?

Here's the problem: I recently got a new computer with Windows 7 on it. I downloaded THE most recent Wacom driver for my intuous tablet but the pressure sensitity won't work. I think it has something to do with the fact that I can't save any software into the folder called Program Files which is always a folder where software goes. There's a strange folder I've never seen before called "Program Files (x86)" and some software doesn't approve of the strange characters; this is the folder that the software is installing on (unless the software rejects it). On my new computer, "Program Files" folder a read-only folder and I can't remove the read-only setting even though I'm the administrator. I get an error message saying "An error occurred in applying attributes to the file: C:\Program Files\Commo...\Alphabet.xml Access is denied."

I've saved Photoshop into a folder that I made called "Graphics Programs." So, my tablet is working just like a mouse except there is no pressure sensitivity for programs like Painter and Photoshop and probably Illustrator is the same. This is a huge problem for me. I also tried reinstalling the graphics software thinking that maybe it didn't work because it was there before I installed the tablet's driver...this didn't work.

I went to the control panel and opened the tablet settings. It allows me to test pressure sensitivity there and everything looks setup properly.

Anyways, it would be nice to fix this ... Read more

Hey guys, I'm having some issues with pressure sensitivity. Does the Lenovo yoga 3 support pressure sensitivity? (I thought it would, being a touchscreen laptop)I am using Adobe Illustrator CC with a stylus - the Adonit Jot Pro. I can't seem to use the pressure sensitivity functions on illustrator. I tried downloading a few Wacom drivers, however they did not make any difference. If the Yoga 3 Pro does actually have pressure sensitivity functions, how do I enable them or which drivers do I download.. basically, how do i fix this??Thanks!

A:Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro - Pressure Sensitivity - Stylus

Good day and welcome to the community.

The Yoga 3 Pro has a multipoint capacitive touch screen (vs an active digitizer).

If you need Wacom-style functionality (pressure levels, fine-point control, etc) you'll need a suitably equipped machine, such as a number of ThinkPad Yoga models, the ThinkPad Helix, or the ThinkPad Tablet 10.

Hope this helps to clarify.
Regards.

I've tried to edit Sai's settings but it didnt seem to work. If anyone can help me with this issue that'd be appriciated.

I bought a ThinkPad yoga 12 with wacom display about 2 years ago and from the beginning I had problems with the pressure sensitivity in Photoshop cs6 extended. Every few strokes a get a big fat ugly one. I posted the problem at Adobe but they weren't any help really. At some point I just gave up on it. Iz makes me really sad, because that waa the main reason why I bought that laptop. I would be so greatful if someone could help me fix this.

I have an HP Envy x360 touch laptop and I bought a HP Active Stylus from HP.com. The pen worked in the screen to draw but the pressure sensitivity has not worked. I have tried changing all the settings in Windows and looked for updated drivers, but nothing changes the pressure sensitivity. Has anyone used the Active Stylus and gotten it to work on an HP Envy x360?

A:HP active stylus pressure sensitivity not working on HP Envy...

Hi Brian, HP Envy x360 Touchscreen Notebook has Capacitive screen, that means it responds to electro discharge when we touch the screen bare handed. So the Notebook screen will not repond/bare minimum respond to Pressure Sensitive HP Active Stylus as it works on the principle of Resistive where you have to apply little pressure. So You can check with a Capacitive Stylus as most of the Smart Phones has*.   ****Click the White thumb to say thanks********Please mark Accept As Solution if it solves your problem********I am an HP Employee****

A question about the deliver mouse (no wireless) with USB connection. By a minimum pressing on the sroll wheel, it activate by itself de "tact switch" to activate the Microsoft app "Auto scroll" modus.  Mostly without the knowledge from the user. As a result into (from view of the customer) a strange behaviour of his PC.  Study the Autoscroll app and you understand what I mean. Read the forums with a lot of complains about this item.Example: Help, my PC make me crazy.......... Reason: The mechanical pressure resistance on the scroll wheel is negligible. Therefore,  I open the mouse by myself andI was a little bit amazed  because HP used for the "tact switch" component (scroll wheel pressure detection) the most sensitive selection (minimum pressure needed to make contact). I replace it into another type (red color) and from now on it is a magnificent example how to use it conscious. The identification (mechanical pressure) from these components are to be  recognize on the form and the top bottom  color. Also the "click" noise on the original product is almost not audible by the customer, therefore the confusion........... My question is:   Is this a mistaken product (mouse) and is this topic well-know in the HP community ?With kind regards,Trumb

There's absolutly no mention about the pressure sensitivity level on Dell Inspiron 13 7373 + Dell Active Pen.
It's very important aspect when choosing touchscreen products with stylus.
Also, which pens do exactly work with Dell Inspiron 13 7373 and are they all have same pressure sensitivity level?

A:How much is the pressure sensitivity level of Dell Inspiron 13 7373 with its designated Dell Active Pen?

The system has a touchscreen - not a digitizer, so it's not going to be pressure sensitive at all.
If you want that feature, the only Dell that has it is the 13" XPS 2-in-one (XPS 9365).

I have been trying to upgrade WIndows 10 Pro on my x230T to the Fall Creators update (1703 or 1709).  But each time it gets to 27%, it does its first reboot and then crashes and rolls back the installation. Microsoft support spent a bunch of time on it, and they couldn't get it to work.  They pointed me to the Lenovo Support page where it wasn't mentioned in the list of tested machines.Has anyone with an X230T get this update installed?

Hello and welcome,

1st: your subject and content don't seem to match.  Do you in fact have multiple drives installed? Which one holds the OS you're trying to update?

2nd: are you trying to do the update via Windows Update?  Sometimes downloading the full installer and running setup from that - or even creating bootable media and running that - can get around WU failures.

Sorry I can't address x230t specifics.

Hi, on hindsight I should have asked this question at this forum first. But I was tired from doing all the researching and bit on an old x230 convertible laptop off ebay that supposedly has core i7 3520M, 4gb of ram, and 160gb ssd. It has been upgraded to windows 10. It has not arrived yet. At around $200, it seemed to me like a steal for the specs. I do think that these specs were user-upgraded and not factory-made so I cannot speak for the quality.I read rave reviews about this device, however, most were from several years ago. I never owed a device with this specs or a touchscreen laptop for that matter so I do not really know what to expect.I guess I will start out to see if anyone still second this as a solid convertible laptop in today's standard. Does windows 10 run well on it? Seem like a lot of people run into problems when upgrading to windows 10? Is there anything special about the touchscreen or is it just obsolete technology nowadays? I mean the most resource intensive thing I will do on this laptop is just playing some online flash games so I think it is way less than what it is capable of. I was just looking for a laptop that is upgradable and can stay relevant for a long time so did I make the right call? Any feedbacks are appreciated!

Hello people of the Lenovo forums. A friend of mine just gave me his Lenovo x230t, it looks like he tried formating it and handing it over to me but he didn't install all the drivers or what not. The laptop itself is from France (french keyboard) and I think when he installed the windows it was in french as well, I changed the setting and made it so everything is in english but when I installed the Lenovo System Update app it installed it in french and I cannot change it, same goes for Realtek. I went through this websites find and recommed me stuff to install, and it did install all the intel drivers and a bios update also I myself installed the driver that activates the tablet keys (screen rotate, task manager). My question is should I just clean install all over again? I got the windows key here so should I just reinstall the whole PC? its new so I got nothing important on it. If so, how should I go about it? I don't have the windows disk or any other driver disk. Another issue is that I cannot use my fingers on the touch screen, it only works with the stylus. I've seen people online scrolling through web pages and PDF using their fingers in touch, also using some other cool functions like opening all the curret apps in a scroll by pressing 4 fingers against the screen. Do I need to install a certain driver to do it? if so where? Sorry for writing so much and thank you for taking the time and reading it.I apologize if I broke an... Hello and welcome,

I'd be inclined to do a clean install, followed by System Update.  Since Win 10 has already been activated on that machine you likely won't need the key.

You can download Win 10 direct from Microsoft.  I haven't looked at the MS tool lately and don't know if the download varies by version (Home, Pro, ...) but if it does pick the one that matches your key.

Hello all. My X230T screen had dead pixels, and laptop was under warranty, lenovo came and changed it.but only a few months after my screen started doing that depending of the inclination. if I move it, it change the "band" color, and on some position, it works OK.  I found on aliexpress replacement panels for 50$. Before buying it, I have few questions. 1) My screen has scratches. Is the panel I will buy will directly replace the one that is there, or is there a "glass" in front that I should replace at the same time, or is it the touchscreen ?I imagine there is a protective glass in front because there is the "lenovo" sign showed for instance and it's not present on the panel, and it seems to be same part. To said it other way (sorry for my english), when I put my finger on the screen, do I touch directly the panel (that will be replaced) or is there any sort of covering glass in front? 2) I think some screen problem like this can be due to a faulty cable, but from what I read the problem would be on whole screen, not only on a line like it is now. Can anyone confirm this ? 3) If indeed it's the panel that is defective, in this kind of situation is it possible to "fix" the panel, like I don't know, putting something to "push" on the false contact so the contact stays ?  4) My panel is LP125WH2-SLB3. I have a Dell Inspiron 5150 that is about a year old. It has a 3.06Ghz P4 with 512 MB RAM, 40GB hard drive, DVD combo drive, etc--I don't think the other details are relevant in this case. Anyway, the computer boots properly and runs properly. But when I apply pressure to the palm rest on the left side, it shuts down. The fan turns off, the screen turns off, and the power light just starts to blink (as during standby mode). From this point, I cannot restart by pressing the power button--the fan tries to spin but stops immediately, the screen refuses to turn on again. Instead, I have to remove the AC adapter cable + the battery, wait a couple of seconds, then hook everything back up and press the power button. Then it works just fine--until I press the palm rest.

Now, it's easy enough to avoid the palm rest, but it makes it a bit difficult to pick the computer up and move it--and sometimes when I try to shut the monitor/lid, the whole system crashes again. Any idea what's going on? I have called Dell Tech Support, and they said I should replace the motherboard. I sort of agree with them, but if there is anyway to fix this problem, I would like to that. Is something shorting out on the motherboard when I press in that certain spot? Is there any way to fix it? The machine is no longer under warranty, so I have opened it a few times to look and have seen nothing obviously wrong, but I don't know much about laptop motherboards. Not with this model, no.  There is a major difference between a touchscreen and a tablet-style screen with a digitizer  - you have the former, not the latter.
There are not that many 15" and larger systems with digitizer screens - even the 12-14" units that have these start just south of $1,000 -- most are over that price.  You won't find that feature in a budget-level notebook like your 3532.

Hiya.I have an HP 15 - f305dx  that I bought from Best Buy around late August 2015.It hasn't given me any problems, which is wonderful, except in the last month or so I noticed when I add a bit of pressure to the lower left side of the laptop (below the keyboard) it makes a very loud (initially very scary!!) whirring noise. The laptop itself doens't do anything when it happens; it continues to run normally. Now the issue has more or less worsened such that any slight amount of pressure to the free space below the keyboard initates the whirring. My vents are clean, and I don't have any heavy programs (I use this laptop for school mostly); the whirring usually lasts as long as there is pressure.Anyone know why? Thanks.

Me being an artist requires me to use a pressure sensitive tablet to work on Photoshop. Whenever I try to use a Pen Pressure option, it tell me that I will be needing a Pressure sensitive tablet, making me wonder if mine is not one. Is there a way to check?

And if mine is not, is there a way to make it into one via downloading any type of programs? I do not wish to spend cash anymore to re-purchase another one.

Info of my Table:
Windows XP
Tablet PC edition 2005
Version 2002
Service Pack 2

Fujitsu
Mobile Intel(R) Pentium(R)
lll CPU - M

Help will be GREATLY appreciated

Hi everyone. I know it's an old system but at 72 I'm not about to change it soon. It has been 100% since 2009 but last week I had to change the Bios battery and I'm not certain It's back to how it should be.
Please look at the readings on the enclosed Jpeg and tell me if you see anything WRONG.
Be gentle... I have little or no knowledge about things these days. The symptoms are it can run for days then if I look at a film or play Flight Sim it will suddenly shut down (no blue screen) and then it re-boots in to windows. somtimes, it hangs so I have to go through Bios (f2) but I change nothing, exit and go back into windows no problem.Thank you.

I would first run furmark on it and see if you get crazy GPU temps since you say your getting the issue under GPU load. That is also quite hot under load for your cpu max temp, might be time for some new TIM do you know what TIM is on it at the moment?

My Acer laptop's "P" key has suddenly needed more pressure at times or I need to fiddle with it as to where on the button to press so it will type. Can the key be replaced without replacing the entire keyboard? My laptop is an Acer Extensa 5620Z.

I wanted to know if the problem is due to the stylus im using (just a normal cheap stylus) it works fine but pen pressure doesn't work and I would like to know if its due to the stylus or something else and if its because of the stylus, which stylus works best and also allows pressure sensitivity.

Will the below help you?  Its a parts list for those 2 models.  1st link is 3435.  2nd link is for 3438.  Just glancing at it looks like 3438au6 doesnt come with a camera.  Not sure what all the other differences are.  Hopefully the below will get you started.
