I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I guess it's dead. I had paid 300 for 3yr Nbd warranty. It expired 5 days ago. So now have to bin the docking station, 2x pus and 2x batteries, and a 2k laptop. The problem is there is no sub 2.5kg laptop on market which supports 2x 30" monitors except w540 or dell m4800, and would not go Lenovo again.

A:Laptop power button flashes orange?

The flashing orange light usually means that the battery is being charged from the mains-powered charger unit.
When battery is charged fully that light should change to green

Laptop makes may differ though .. for example when my laptop is charging the orange light is on, but it does not flash .. it stays on orange until it is fully charged, then changes to green

I.I have an lenovo y50-70 that i like very much. The only problem i have with it, is that if i play forex gta v, or doing other things that makes the computer work hard, the power button starts to flash and it is stopping to charge. It happens all from about 5min to 30min after i have started to play. If i pull the plug and put in in again, it does not flash anymore, and i can play for a while before it starts to do that again. Noticed that the plug i put into the computer to charge it, gets very warm. This problem does not come if i just use the computer for surfing on the internet, watching netflix or similar, only if the computer has to work hard. Is it the charger that can't deliver enough power to charge it or what could my problem be?What does the power button flash mean? Thanks!

Hello. Happy New Year!

I have a question. But first, I will make a statement: I have Microsoft Office 2007 Ultimate version installed on my computer. The application I most love is OneNote 2007. Boy, is that a handy program! I don't know what Office 2007 packages offer OneNote 2007. I know for a fact that the Standard edition does not. I think, but not sure if the Professional (the step down from Ultimate edition) version does not have OneNote either. If you can swing it $$$, get it with OneNote! it is worth it! It is fairly easy to use and quite intuitive too.

Now my question: Some of the Office 2007 applications that utilize that new ribbon along the top of the program interface will also have the round Office button in the upper left corner. I have noticed at times that the Office button pulsates or flashes (white to yellowish-gold, back and forth) and at other times it does not, just remains white. Why at times does the Office button pulsate or flash? Under what conditions? ...ALL CONDITIONS IT WOULD MAKE IT FLASK OR PULSE PLEASE. What is it trying to tell me? I have looked on the web trying to find an answer to this and I cannot find an answer anywhere. It can get annoying at times, when I am in Word 2007 and it just pulsates or flashes at me while I am writing a long report. ALSO, what are the corrective measures, if they aren't obvious to stop this pulsating or flashing. Thank you!

Hi,
I have a Precision Tower 7910 desktop. Every time I try to restart (or power off and on), the power button starts flashing an orange colour. Following suggestions from previous posts, I took the CMOS battery, and held the power button for 15 seconds. When I insert the battery the computer works perfectly until the next restart where I have to repeat to same procedure. The computer works fine even if I leave it on for a month (assuming no restarts).
Can anyone suggest any solutions?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello, I've been having trouble with an old Gateway desktop for some time now. About a month ago, I had installed a graphics card to the computer and the computer had recognized it, but never used it(it always said second priority). Whenever I disabled the onboard graphics, the screen would go blank and say "No Signal". So I went into the BIOS settings and changed the graphics to the PCI-Express slot as the 1st selection, and when I did that, the monitor didn't have any signal, so I had to reset the CMOS. The graphics card still did not work, but after a few days or a week, when I had turned it on again, the computer would not turn on at all. The power button would just keep flashing. I looked up why this could be online and it kept saying things about the Mobo, RAM, PSU, CPU, and the CMOS. I tried removing the RAM and cleaning the fans on the inside, but it still didn't turn on. I even tried plugging the desktop directly to the wall outlet and the power button still flashed. Then I got an adapter for the graphics card so I could connect the display to the card and not the Mobo, and I got the same result. After that, I had taken a break from it for a little while.

It wasn't until yesterday when the display came back and the computer actually turned on. Though, the first I turned it on, I got a BSOD saying "DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" and when I turned it back on, the Windows System Recovery had fixed it (I'm hoping) and I could... Read more

I normally go to bed and leave my laptop running with a YouTube playlist playing for background noise to help me sleep. I've been doing this for about three years. I usually wake up the laptop in sleep mode or still playing the playlist but with the screen black. Today, though, I woke up to the laptop totally powered down and unresponsive. I checked the power cord and it was plugged in on both ends, but it acted like it was basically dead. Any push of the power button causes the button to turn on like normal, but it turns off after just a few seconds. Trying this several times, occasionally the keyboard lights will flash, too, but they die after just a second. The whole thing looks like it's booting up, but can't even turn the screen on at all. I'll link to a YouTube video showing the problem. A few months back, I was having harddrive problems from what I could tell, but fixed it. I haven't had any other problems other than that. Link: https://youtu.be/v3y7q2S0GS8 Could the battery have finally crapped out or something? I tried the whole battery removal and hold power button thing a few times with no results.

I see this is quite a common problem, judging by number of intel support posts, but unfortunately none has a valid solution, mostly they refer to OEM drivers. So my ethernet controller does not start when I power on my laptop, windows 10 (and windows 7 before) 64-bit device manager shows the 'error 10 the device cannot start' warning. if I disable and re-enable it the adapter works perfectly, same after restart, but whenever I turn the laptop off - the adapter does down. I tried installing the latest drivers both from intel and lenovo (http://pcsupport.lenovo.com/eg/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-t-series-laptops/thinkpad-t...). Again, intel support refers to OEM drivers. I appreciate any help.

The classic multi-step applicaton launcher is that we have seen in windows 7 and earlier versions of microsoft windows is still missing. Windows 8.1 Start Button is just a shortcut to the windows 8's start menu.

Look down farther on the screen when u get those 4 options, there will be a few more. One will be "start windows normally" do that and see what happens.

That file is just an error log file. DOnt worry about that being there for now. But keep posting the errors if this happens.

I have McAfee and Zemana Antilogger installed and also ran Kaspersky online scanner, but have not been able to identify the culprit. Of course, it may be an OS problem but it's beyond my capability to troubleshoot at this point...

Any help eliminating this problem we be appreciated!

Hi, I'm in a bit of a sticky predicament.

A couple of hours ago I started up my PC and as normal it got to the bit just before the animated Windows flag appeared but this is where it all goes pear shaped.

The first red glimmer of the flag appears and then a BSoD that lasts less than a 1/4 of a second.

I booted up in Mac to find the dump file but no dice, there wasn't one.

I tried using startup repare but that did nothing and even stated that it couldn't fix the problem. I tried doing a system restore from the installation disk but apparently there are no restore points!!?!?!

The only thing I managed to extrapalate from Startup repair is that the problem has something to do with corrupt drivers.

I tried booting my PC with nothing plugged into it and still no luck same problem, I have a backup of all the files but I have to reinstate them manually from my Mac Timemachine backup so I have that as a last resort.

The only major thing I did before Windows wouldn't start was create a 5 disk RAID configuration in the Mac partition (all external USB) but I can't see how that would do anything, I didn't touch the partition Windows is on.

I have yet to try safe mode but have tried every other repair feature on the install disk.

If anyone has any expierience/ advice/ help they want to share I will most humbley appreciate it.

Oli

A:Portege M750 doesn't start - power LED flashes

Hi

Short means 0, long means 1.
In your case the binary code is 1000 1001
Now you have to reverse the binary code due to most significant bit.
This means the code is; 1001 0001
The HEX code means; 91h

So error code is 91h but I don?t know what 91h means and what part could be affected exactly!

Possibly it?s something wrong with power supply electronic on the motherboard? but only the ASP technician could provide more details?
However, in most cases the motherboard is affected and should be replaced.

My Inspiron 15 7000 Series 7559 Laptop will not power on. The power light on the front of the laptop blinks 7 white lights ands 2 orange when I try to power the laptop on. I tried a different charger no help. I tried swapping the memory with my other 7559 latptop and no power up. Need help?

A:Inspiron 7559 Laptop has 7 white light flashes & 2 Orange Flashes

Remove or disconnect the battery.  With the system unplugged, hold the power button for 30 sec.
Try powering up on AC only - if it will but won't with the battery installed, the battery is bad.
If it still won't power up, the mainboard is bad.

Hi,

My Dell Studio has just crashed and wont restart. The mute and volume up buttons are flashing and the volume down button is solidly lit. I could not find the diagnostic code when searching the internet. I could find pretty much every other diagnostic code apart from this one.

Any advice would be most welcome.

Thanks,

Andy

A:Dell Studio 1535 wont start. Blinking mute and volume up button, solid volume down button.

Hi Andy,
Welcome to Dell community!
As you have correctly pointed out, the diagnostic code that you have mentioned is not among the codes available to isolate the failure for a Studio 1535 laptop. The closest code is: blinking Mute LED and Volume up LED, and an off Volume down LED which is for USB controller initialization failure. Disconnect any external devices connected and try powering on the computer.
Reseating the memory modules too can help us. Please refer the following link for the Studio 1535 service manual for instructions: http://bit.ly/10PrLgH
If issue persists, the laptop’s motherboard has to be replaced. Refer the following link to check the computer’s warranty status: http://dell.to/10pMa86
If the computer has active warranty, please send me the service tag and registered owner’s name on the computer in a Private Message. To send me a Private Message, click my User name, and then click Start Conversation.
If the warranty on the computer has expired, you may contact our expired warranty services to purchase/replace the compatible parts. Please refer the following link that has contact details for our Expired Warranty Services: http://dell.to/14FoBtb

Hi I'm running Windows XP Service Pack 3 on my HP Pavillion ZE4800 (I know, kill me please).

I am not on that computer right now.

When I press the power button and it begins to boot within 10 or 15 seconds or so I get a flash of a blue screen which has text in white which I cannot read as it goes by too fast. After the blue screen flashes, my computer turns off and automatically begins to restart.

At first I had not gotten the F8 boot option screen, and the aforementioned process occurred, but in subsequent times the screen did appear. I attempted the 'Start Windows Normally' option and blue screen flash etc., occurred. I found that even starting in 'Safe Mode' does the exact same thing. The only configuration in which I found that I can actually get Windows running is 'Safe Mode with Command Prompt'. I the only option I have not tried is 'Safe Mode with Networking' as I have my desktop for internet to resolve these issues.

I tried booting from the XP CD and do a system restore but the blue screen again appears, turning off my laptop and starting it again.

I believe I somehow switched from 'Safe Mode with Command Prompt' to regular safe mode by opening the Task Manager > New Task (Run..), and opening up C:\XXXXX (whatever is in the drop down box). Only after this does my desktop appear and I get this error message:

"Windows cannot find '/idlist,648:1404,C:\Program'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, cli... Read more

The fan is whirring, it sounds like it reeeeally wants to start, but it just keeps flashing the hp logo screen, then a black screen with the cursor at the top left, and then complete black (screen off) This cycle repeats endlessly, and if I hit "ESC" to trigger the Startup Menu at the right time I get a few options, but the F-11 System Recovery doesn't work - just throws me back into the flashing screen cycle! If you can help me you will be my hero. If you can't help thank you for trying.  I don't know to function without my baby err computer..........
