Removal of cover problem on Pavillion G133CL please help

Q: Removal of cover problem on Pavillion G133CL please help

I have been trying to remove the cover on this G133CL AMD A10 system to upgrade the mechanical drive to SSD as it's too slow for school use. Everything else about it is great. BUT, mine is not new its a refurb so I ran into this weird problem. I have the service manual from the website and it says to remove all the screws on the bottom. Then there's is supposedly the screws that are tiny by the CD ROM drive bay to remove after you remove the CD ROM to get to them. WELL.........mine have these small circles that are metal no place to unscrew these two ! So now what??? It's the only place left that is being held (again after you remove CD ROM) and the bay i s exposed to remove the cover screws from it. EXCEPT those two screws there have no head or place to put the screw driver. Just what look likes metal nail heads. What I'm takling about is on pg 34 chapter 6. It's number 3 where it says remove the 2 philips PM 2.0 flat screws. Mine has no way to put in screwdriver on those two screws. HUH? What gives here HP??? Why can't I Remove those two screws after removing the CD ROM cvover how do you get those things off??? They look like nail heads with no way to put a screw driver in it. They are metal though.

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Hi there. My problem is quite simple. Unfortunately, i just scratched (pins on papers, argh) the plastic right to the HP logo on the top of my brand-new Hp pavillion x2. I'm wondering now if it's possible to replace the cover (i mean, all the back-pkastic of the tablet part), and how, and how much would cost eventually (I live in Italy). I love my device and it's a pain to live with these bad scratches, especially knowing how new the little one is. Thanks for support, Manuel

I have a Packard Bell desktop that needs more memory I know where to get the memory plug ins but I cannot find out how to remove the cover its a Imedia 1509 can anybody help out here I would be very much oblidged if you could.

Regards, James.

A:PC Cover removal

Packard Bell desktop looks like a standard case. Should have one or two screws (or thumbscrews) at the rear that hold the side panel in place. I'm sure you don't have a computer screw (if you can get one that'd be helpful) Look for a small screw driver or anything that fits and remove the screws (DON'T LOST THEM lol) and then slide the side panel towards the rear a little and Remove the old RAM and insert the New Memory sticks carefully into the slots and close up the case.

Bobby,

Welcome to the Forum.

This would be worth $10:

and this might work out for free:

I've had my HP ZT1170 apart a couple of times. Apparently for the same reason as you...broken power plug.

The first time it was split and loose from the board but still intact electrically. I repaired it with JB Weld epoxy.

The next time the solder joint broke. I repaired it with a needle point low wattage iron. I would call it a poor design for a potentially stressed connection...I use it on my Lap not on a desk.

Each time it was like the first...where is that hidden screw? Their engineers have a warped sense of humor.

Also, I noted that the machine was available used for about $700. The MOBO replacement part is $470. Capitalism Lives!!!

I have just gotten a new x360 13t-u100 convertible and am wanting to remove the cover to replace the HDD with a SSD.  I found the disassembly instructions for the older units with the 2 big rubber feet.  This new model has 2 long rubber track feet, which I have removed and removed all the screws under.  I've then pried the keyboard cover away from the case, however the keyboard cover still acts like theres an attached screw or clip in the middle.  Theres a small indent in the middle of the bottom case, however it doesn't look like theres any screws in there.  Is there a service manual for this model so I can figure out how to free the keyboard cover to get to the HDD? Thanks

Is anyone able to point me to a source that details the procedure for removing the covers of the iP4000 printer, please? I have found a couple of sources for service manuals/parts lists, but none of them provides anything on this basic procedure! I have it for my iP4200 (yes, the one that keeps Canon in business with ink "tank" sales!), and it's quite simple when you know where all the clips are, but for reasons best known to Canon, they do not seem to include this for the earlier 4000. There is a horrible grinding sound emanating from the works, and I need to take a peek inside.

Any assistance appreciated.

A:Pavilion 24-a020xt cover removal for memory upgrade

Hi, Rear Cover removal Before you begin: Remove the stand. StepsUse a fingernail or a flat head tool to pry off the rubber screw covers at the bottom corners of the rear cover. There are two captured Philips #2 screws at the bottom edge of the rear cover that help secure the rear cover to the unit.  Turn each screw about a quarter turn until the corner of the cover releases up. (Note: Do NOT attempt to turn farther than a quarter turn to avoid damaging the mechanism.)Pry the bottom of the cover up and partially remove the rear cover from the PC. The webcam transfer board is attached to the rear cover and its connector or connectors will prevent full removal of the rear cover. (Note: units with a 3D webcam installed will have three connectors. Units with an HD webcam will have one connector.)In order to fully remove the rear cover from the unit for any reason, disconnect the motherboard cable or cables from the webcam transfer board.Pull the connector/s out of the cable guides on the inside of the rear cover and remove any tape securing them to the cover. The rear cover may now be fully removed from the unit.Rear Cover replacement StepsIf installing a new rear cover, remove the existing camera box, webcam transfer board, and camera box spring and install on the new rear cover. To replace the rear cover if it has been fully removed, first replace the webcam transfer board connector or connectors into the cable guides on the rear cover, taping the connector... Not getting a connection to the internet with this HP laptop.  Tried using the wifi, and tried using a wired ethernet connection.  Neither got a connection.  Plugged in a wifi adapter and was finally able to see networks, but was still unable to connect to them.   Airplane mode is off. I know for certain it is not a network modem issue, but a problem with the laptop.  I'm currently typing this using a destop connected with ethernet, and my wireless network works fine.  I've also tried connecting the laptop to a network at another house again using wifi and ethernet, and got the same connection problems. I've tried starting in safemode, and some of the troubleshooting options under network status.  Also looks like any wired mouse that I plug in doesn't work, I've tried two.  I don't expect much from an HP, but a working internet connection is something I expect that the 'engineers' at HP can achieve.  Would love some help, no rush.

All right. Word is killing me lately.

I have a document with a cover page. Insert > Cover Page; nothing fancy. Word creates the quick part and throws in a page break. So I insert a paragraph above the page break and anchor all my cover page elements to it. This is fine. It's great. The cover page is exactly what I want.

The problem is the next page. There is a paragraph marker at the top of the page that I cannot delete. What's worse, when I select it, Word selects *everything* on the cover page, as if all that stuff were anchored to this crazy paragraph instead of the one at the top of the cover page. In shock, I select the paragraph mark I thought was the anchor, but Word doesn't select anything else. This is clearly crazy talk.

There is a next-page section break immediately following the page break because the cover needs different margins, but do not be fooled by this red herring. If the object selection behavior in the previous paragraph wasn't enough indication, this next part corroborates the insanity: I can't delete that paragraph mark even if I delete the cover page. I only delete it if I delete everything on the cover page.

So it seems like Word ignores my anchoring configuration and force-anchors everything to this other, invincible paragraph. Can someone please explain what's going on? Does a cover page not actually count, or something? Thanks for any input!

chris.

A:Crazy cover page anchoring problem in Word 2010

Also (though technically this is a completely different issue but still crazy) the leading on one of my chapter headers is not cooperating. Structurally it's identical to every other chapter header:
Immediately preceded by a next-page section break
Leaded at 24 pt before
Immediately followed by a subheading
Not that I think it makes a difference, but everything's using window/orphan control as well. Anyway, for this one chapter, the leading isn't applied.

But really, that's what I would expect: leading shouldn't occur at the top margin. Which means my other chapter headings are the ones that are misbehaving, but I don't know why their leading counts and this one chapter's doesn't. They're using the exact same style and everything. Is there a section/page configuration that allows leading at the top margin? Maybe I misconfigured the other sections...

chris.

[edit]
Well, at least this one is intentionally (as in, documentedly) crazy. So this problem's fixed. Still have that cover issue deal, though.

Okay, here's the deal.

In XP on my laptop when I go to the folder that has some of my books in it in .pdf format, if I set the 'VIEW' to SMALL ICONS, MEDIUM ICONS, LARGE ICONS I can see what the cover of the book looks like. This makes it so that I don't always have to READ the title of the book to grab the one I need. However, I can't put all my books on my laptop and do most of my work on my desktop.

Here's the rub ... my desktop is running VISTA and when I go to any folder that has books in it in .pdf format, no matter which 'VIEW' I choose, all I see is the Adobe PDF logo.

Can someone help me fix this so that I can see the 'book covers'? PLEASE?

If you need pictures of what I'm talking about, please ask and I'll put them up for you to see.

Thanks
dog

The light on the pc then goes off, then flashes once then goes out. and the screen stays the same. I have tried to press Esc when loading to get the boot menu up so i can see if its booting up in the right sequence but nothing happens.

What about the F1 and F10 functions? Do they work?

Those are all Bios related functions that are offered before the handoff to the operating system, and if you cannot get them to work it may be a low CMOS battery problem. You could try replacing that.

They usually work face up, are you sure you are plugging into the right jumper? Most boards have it listed in real small print next to the jumpers.

hey this is my first post, I thought someone could help me.

I have an HP Pavillion 752n with a 2.0 P4

I went to sleep the other night after watching a movie on my computer, turned off the monitor like normal, but when i woke up the mouse (no red light for the optical) and monitor were dead and my computers suspend light was on (brown instead of normal green). I reset my computer and it started up normally for the first 30 seconds and then everythieng went dead. i tried it again and it lasted 10 seconds.

I opened up the case to see what was going on internally and when i powered on the CPU fan turns off after a few seconds and everything goes dead exept for the pci cards (my video card fan still runs) and the brown light on the front where it should be green. someone please help!! thanks

Ok before you all laugh at my PC I have a small problem.

I have tried to upgrade the RAM on this PC but Im having little luck the story so far >>>>>

I have a older but still going strong HP Pavilion 7950 that I accuired for free and Ive resurrected it and to be honest its a little darling of a PC but only had 256mb of RAM so I ordered some more another 512mb from Crucial and I came up against a bit of an odd problem, If I put the 256 and 512 into the slots (I only have 2) I get on stop errors and also beeps to say somethings awry.

Anyway I have tried every single way of trying the RAM different sized RAM in different slots and all sorts now a friend said it maybe down to the fact that the RAM needs to be two sizes of the same stuff ie. only 512 and 512 not 512 and 256 I have heard this before but how true is this with a HP Pavilion 7950 as crucial didnt say that may be the problem they have never heard of this before.

Just wandered if anyone wants to take a stap at this I will have another 512 turn up on Mon or Tues so I will know for certain then

Today I inserted the RAM 512 and 512 and guess what the PC boots to first screen where it shows 1024 installed and thats it I mean it woont go any further it justs stays there and thats it, I take out 512 and alls fine again, HP and crucial reckon 1024 is fine to run on this PC, any ideas as my hair is getting thinner

Thanks People

I bought my 6190eu just under a year ago and the warranty's end is creeping up. My problem is that my ac adaptor is very sensitive and ony starts to charge my laptop when it is place in a certain way. I have read some other forums and some say that there are problems internally, however they do not say that the power adaptor is sensitive. Is there a problem internally or should i get a new power adaptor?

Thanks

Hey all,
I have a HP Pavillion dv6-2112sa laptop.
My issue is that when I plug in my headphones the sound to what I am watching or listening to still plays through the speakers at the same time, and as you can imagine the reason for me putting the headphones in is so the sound only plays through the headphones. I have been on the HP website and followed their suggestions but have had no success, including many tests and configurations on the control panels.
I hoped someone might have an idea?

Thanks

Can you boot all the way into Normal Mode at all (if there's a problem you may have to wait like ten mins) ?

Can you boot into Safe Mode successfully ?

A friend of mine has a HP pavillion with an unusual problem.

I hit the power button and I get the light blue screen with the info on how to get to bios and boot order.

That stays on for less than a second and the screen goes blank and shows that there is no signal.

I dont think it would be a power supply.

When it says no signal, I can hit F10 and get into bios which looks fine.

Any suggestions on what could be wrong?

Thanks for ang suggestions.

Reformat hard drive. No sound. No longer have my system cd. I followed the other thread in here (howard_hopkinso) for the download on the intel page. This didn't fix my problem. Yellow icon next to Sigma-Tel C audio. I assume the download is not for my computer. Control panel > sound and audio devices. The contents of the volume and audio tab are grayed out. All Programs > Accessories > Entertainment > Volume properties returns an error message. "There are no active mixer devices available. Click add hardware to install one". Called HP, they charge $67 for replacement CD. Anybody got a clue as to what is going on or how to install a mixer device?. 542x Pavillion, XP.

You're going to need to obtain the appropriate driver for your audio card. You can try Windows Update(microsoft.com), but if it's not there then it looks like you'll have to buy that HP CD or see if a friend has it. I couldn't find it on a quick google search.
