Z50 - 70 - black screen start (démarrage écran noir)

Q: Z50 - 70 - black screen start (démarrage écran noir)

I have a problem with my LENOVO Z50-70 processor I7.

State before the problem:
There was a system update just before this problem, if I recall correctly,
I used much less my PC than before (unloading the battery often thoroughly ...)

Symptoms during ignition:
- The LEDs mains and batteries are green on the front edge of the PC,
- The SHIFT keys do not light up,
- the screen remains black,
- there is no beep whatever emitted by the PC,
- the screen remains black,
- Hard Disk seems to be turning,
- the fan of the Graphics Card and the Processor turns a little at startup,

I tried :
- Ignition with or without battery,
- The ignition with or without mains connection (connection and disconnection that emit a powerful beep that I did not have before)
- Once the battery is removed, press the start button momentarily, nothing happens,
- Press the NOVO button momentarily, nothing happens,
- Once the battery is removed, press NOVO, nothing happens,
- interchange RAM cards,

I have not tried yet:
- hard drive-free boot and hard drive testing in an external case,

I heard :
- Replacing the motherboard battery?
- Replacing the motherboard?

What might be the other solutions to my problem? I am currently out of warranty.

Thank you in advance for your help.

J'ai essay :

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Can someone please help me? I'm a first-time forum user

I've got an Acer Aspire laptop here that has decided to stop loading/starting up.

When I turn the power button on:
- I can see the Acer logo screen (and also get into setup if I press F2)
- The cursor (_) blinks once or twice
- Then the screen just goes black/blank and stays that way

Twice (when I have left power on at the black screen), I have eventually seen this Windows Boot Manager message (maybe after 5 minutes each time):

Windows failed to start. A recent hardware of software change might be the cause. To fix the problem:

1.Insert your Windows installation disc and restart the computer.
2.Choose your language settings, and then click "Next".
3.Click "Repair your computer."

If you do not have this disc, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance.

Status: 0xc000000f

Info: The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible.
Unfortunately, I do not have the Windows installation disk.

I have tried using a System Repair Disk (on DVD, burnt from another laptop with same OS)....but got stuck when the broken laptop didn't detect or couldn't read the disk.

I also tried the Alt+F10 system recovery, but after 20 minutes on the "Please wait a moment..." screen, I gave up and turned the power off.

Please help. Thanks.

A:Acer won't start, Black screen / Windows failed to start

Hello noob and welcome to Seven Forums.

Can you get into Safe Mode via the Advanced Boot Options menu? If yes, you can check for damaged or corrupt system files by running a system file checker scan from an elevated command prompt (option two in the SFC tutorial.) If problems are found, run the scan 3 times and reboot the computer after each scan.

Safe Mode

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Another possibility from Safe Mode is to try rolling back your computer to a date/time prior to this problem occuring using a system restore point.

System Restore

Why is my screen black when I start Windows 7?

I received the following error message when I attempted to restart my computer:

C0000218 Unknown Hard Error

When I restarted after the blue screen it went into a check disk but would not finish the scan.

I have tried to start the computer in safe mode with internet connection and after a few minutes the screen goes black. I've tried to start it using last known configuration and the screen goes black. Everything I try ~ the screen goes black.

A:Blue screen & now won't start in safe mode, screen goes black

I'm writing from my husband's laptop because my desktop is completely dead.

We were out of town for several days and when we returned my desktop was running very slow so I attempted to restart it. It locked up, I pressed/held the power button and when it restarted it attempted to run a disk check. The disk check locked up and I had to press/hold the power button again. When it restarted I got a blue screen ~ stop: C0000218 unknown hard error.

Sometimes when I attempt to restart it I get: checking file system on C:
file system = NTFS

When I attempt to restart it in safe mode, safe mode with networking or starting in last known good configuration I get . . .

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\windows\system32\drivers\ . . . (various items)

Now it won't start, not even in safe mode. Everything I try ~ I just get a black screen.

** I just tried to restart AGAIN and it ran disk scan, said it had completed disk scan and would restart, the screen went black when it attempted to restart and the screen is still black and it won't restart.

What can I do to get my computer back?

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

A friend of mine asked me to look at his old XP machine because it simply will not fully startup. It does make it through the initial boot routine and the "Windows XP" splash screen appears but, shortly after that, the screen goes black. All you can see is a black screen with a white cursor in the middle of it. The system does not respond to mouse or keyboard input.

I used a Hiren's Boot CD boot disk to look around his system. He has about 40% free space left on the hard drive which seems to function correctly. I am presently running a virus scan (via the Hiren's Boot CD).

I've never seen an XP machine do this so I'm not sure what is going on. I believe he is running SP3 but I'm not certain of this because I can get it fully loaded to check.

Any help would be appreciated.

Background: A week ago on vacation, I opened my HP Pavilion dv7-2173cl (a laptop running Vista Home Premium SP2) and suddenly, green and black lines began forming across its screen. I was later told this was a pressure crack, although that is not what I'm posting about. Freaked out, that day I turned the computer off and on several times using only the power button, once foolishly interrupting a "Startup Repair" process.

Problem: When I got home I hooked up the laptop to my TV so I could see what was going on. After attempting to turn it on many times, I eventually got the BSOD with a STOP:0x0000c1f5 error. I couldn't access the Recovery Module (even to backup) or Safe Mode. Going into personally uncharted territory, I booted from a Linux System Rescue CD to delete the $TxfLog file that was apparently the cause of the problem. I no longer get the BSOD, I get a black screen (KSOD?) (sometimes w/mouse, sometimes w/o) after the "yellow bar" loading screen. I still can't get into Safe Mode but I was able to use a Vista repair CD I downloaded to (finally) backup onto an external hard drive.

What I've Done So Far: I've run chkdsk, checked the memory and hard disk from BIOS options, and run Startup repair. I did the kind of Windows backup where everything goes to one file.

I'd prefer not to start from scratch if I can avoid it. Thanks so much for any and all help guys, I appreciate it a lot.

A:Vista won't start up, black screen before login screen.

I couldn't access the Recovery Module...Do you have a Recovery CD, Windows Vista CD, or Recovery Drive (partition)? What happened when you tried to access it?------------------------------------------------------------You said that you were able to backup onto an external harddrive, so important data is safe. The best option right now would probably be to re-format.

Hi, I hope some of you can be of assistance to me.

This morning when I started my laptop I got the always pleasant black screen treatment...

It is an Asus F7SE, about two years old.

The computer starts, fans are running, lights for power and "on" working, the initial sound/beeps and the "ASUS" letters at the very beginning. Then black screen. I get no BIOS Post (info at the start) and Vista is not starting.

Have anyone experienced something similar or have any idea what I can do?

I have looked around on the net but not found anything helpful so far. I am not what you would call a computer expert but have some knowledge at a beginner/intermediate level.

Any helpful answers are much appreciated.

I later found the Microsoft account and disconnected it from the PC. I then put the PC in sleep mode. When i attempted to turn it back on it would not display anything. I then proceeded to unplug the the PC entirely. When i tried to reboot the system there was nothing except a but a black screen with a flashing white underscore. A:Black-Screen start-up

Do you hear anything on startup? Any beeps? Does the hard drive spin?

It sounds like it can't find the boot loader for Vista. Do you have the installation CD? If so, you might be able to boot to it. Put it in your CD drive, and open your BIOS (press F2 at startup). Find the option that says something about boot sequence. Set your CD/DVD drive to be the first boot device. Save the settings and restart the computer. It should boot into the installation cd.

Look for an option that says "Repair an installation". You'll want to select that, and open a command prompt. Once in the command prompt, type fixmbr. Let it do it's thing, and restart the system. You'll have to re-enter BIOS and change the boot order again, this time set the first boot device to be the hard drive.

It should boot after that. If it doesn't, do all of the above again, except when in the command prompt, type fixboot and proceed as before.

Every time i turn off this new computer and then try to turn it back on, i get a blank screen. So i need to open the case, clear the cosmos thing by holding something metal to the two little sticks and then i can turn it back on. So i just decided to clear the cosmos and then install my Windows Vista OEM 64-bit. after i did that i installed my motherboard disk. Then it told me to restart my computer, so i did. and I'm at the blank screen. I'm not sure whats wrong but i don't want to have to clear the cosmos every time i turn my computer on, so what do i need to do to fix this?

One of my computers crashed yesterday when the circuits blew. It needs to be fixed.

So, I hooked up my other computer, Windows XP Media Center 2005, and upon starting the computer, I see the typical loading screen, but then when my desktop is due to show up, all I see is a tiny strip of my desktop at the top of the screen (or what I assume is such, because the strip is purple like my desktop). The cursor doesn't show up, and pressing Escape, Windows (by the Ctrl button) and the like, doesn't do anything. I even hooked up my other monitor, and the same thing happens.

The Windows XP was working fine in my old residence, if it is of importance. There have been no issues with either computer until the circuits blew yesterday. Everything is tightly connected, and I just can't figure this out with my manuals.

I am using my sister's computer to ask this, so thank you for being patient with my reply. I will be checking in periodically to see if anyone has a good answer. Thank you very much to anyone that can help.

Also, the Windows Xp 2005 was NOT hooked up at the time of circuit blow

Time for some bench testing, look in the hardware section of the forum.
Have you observed anti-static measures? Try disabling some items and boot each time. If you have 2 ram boards, remove one at a time.
If you just moved, reseat everything carefully. Did you jar it or drop it when moving?

I have a Gateway laptop with Vista. Before today it never really caused me any problems and there was no critical warning signs.

My problem is upon starting my computer the screen is black and nothing happens. I can hear the fan running but at a lower volume then usual. The keyboard does not respond at all so pressing F8 or any other commands is useless. The CDrom does respond if I press eject on the side.
There are two things that I did today that I normally never do. First, I ran a disk clean up and I also had a USB "F Drive" SanDisk inserted into my computer because ironically I was seeing if I could use it to back up all my work and notes but I had no success.

After turning off my computer, this problem occurred maybe 20 mins later after I turned it back on. Also, there is no cursor on the screen it just a blacks screen with nothing else on it so it doesnt even look like that my monitor is on. I tried plugging my laptop into another monitor to see if that was the issue but it wasn't.

If I find a recovery disk to use will I be able to recover my work? Any ideas?

Go with starting up with the recovery disk.
See if you can get into SafeMode and run SF Diagnostic Tool - Using for Troubleshooting - Windows 7 Forums
Then post back so we know how you are doing.

Unsure of computer specs; I know that is a an HP computer.

This is my dad's computer, and he said that while he was watching "videos", the desktop PC popped up a BSOD of the Page_Fault_in_non_paged_area error type. After waiting several minutes to re-power the PC, the computer does not load anything, and the desktop emits out a loud and non-stop "whirring" noise. I decided to check the Ram one by one, and they all (individually and collectively) load up past the screen with F11,etc command options, but go no further when the screen becomes black (with a blinking underscore in the top left and an off-centered orange block). I've attached a picture of this.

Did you try Alt + F10?

This morning my comp downloaded a security update for IE;

Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 8 for Windows XP (KB978207)

Security issues have been identified that could allow an attacker to compromise a system that is running Microsoft Internet Explorer and gain control over it. You can help protect your system by installing this update from Microsoft. After you install this item, you may have to restart your computer.

Since it was installed whenever I turn my PC on it sticks at a black screen for a few mins before re-booting and loading properly.

It says I can remove this update if I want, but I'm not sure I should.

Help please?

A:Black Screen on start up.

mmm, after downloading this update my "each day" account reported that it was corrupt. I went in to my admin account, decided to do an Acronis disk image first and then tried my other account again - this time it worked. Have you tried your admin account, or even safe mode? If so do they load properly. Personally I'm not sure removing the update would be a good idea as it apparently plugs a vast hole in IE.

Laptop went through an update and shutdown was slower than usual. Did a hard power off, and it worked fine the next day. The day after it would turn on, but the screen stays black. So far I've...*Performed a Hard Reset.*Tried BIOS recovery (Win +V and even B)*Tried System Diagnostic Test (f2)*Removed both RAM and tested each in different slots and even alone.*Black Magic (virgin sacrifice)Note: Screen is blank, no mouse arrow. Fan still runs. WiFi button is red (ever since Windows 10 update last year). Caps Lock button does blink, but only once every 3-4 seconds. So no light code that I've seen. This has happened from time to time after windows update, but the hard reset usually fixed it.Does anyone have anything else I can try? I'm running low on goats blood.

Any thoughts ?You say that the Harddrive Tests failed.  Whenever the Hard Disk Short/Long DST test fails that indicates that the Hard Disk Drive has failed and that requires a replacement to resolve the issue  HP will provide a replacement Hard Disk Drive if the Notebook warranty is Active, If not you need buy a SATA Hard Disk Drive from a retail shop nearby Please Contact HP if your HP Notebook is under warranty, HP would replace the Hard Disk Drive and provide you a Recovery media to restore factory operating system after replacement (if you've not yet created Recovery Discs/USB Media) Note: Back up all the personal data to an external drive if it's possible. Otherwise you could connect the failed HDD via SATA to USB adapter with another PC or same PC after replacement of HDD & re-installation of OS and try copying /recovering the files. sorry if this question has been asked before.

I'm working on a computer that seems to boot up normally, but after the windows XP splash screen, it loads a black screen. I tried going into safe mode, but the screen is still black, but with the warnings on top and bottom of the screen that i'm currently in safe mode. I tried booting into safe with command, but still black. the task manage will not come up, the windows key will not bring up the start menu. I've tried a different monitor and it comes up the same. any thoughts before I ghost the drive and attempt a windows repair?
