Mouse lagging on Extreme X1 Gen 2

Q: Mouse lagging on Extreme X1 Gen 2

I just received a new Extreme X1 Gen 2 with 64 gigs of ram running Windows 10 Pro. I am using it with an external monitor and mouse. I had a wired mouse and the mouse kept hanging (lagging and occasionally just stopping for a few seconds). I swapped to a Logitech wireless mouse and have the same problem. So .. I don't think the problem is the mouse or driver. All patches are up to date (both Windows and Lenovo) Anyone have an idea for me? -Ken W

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Whenever I connect external monitor or TV via HDMI the computer is slow/lagging (even moving windows or doing a right click is slow).I tried to isolate the problem and it seems to happen only when I use "Second screen only" or when the laptop lid is closes, if the lid is open and I use "Extend" or "Duplicate" everything's fine. Also, if I do reset while the monitor is still connected, it's working ok (but this is not a good solution for me as I want to keep the work evniornment).I tried playing with Display settings but nothing seems to help, maybe the community can please help me?

I began experiencing problems with my computer yesterday. It's a custom build from 2011 that has run flawlessly until yesterday. It suddenly became extremely laggy, some programs won't open, some won't close, Windows error messages I've seen before, circular spinning loading icon when trying to do just about anything, etc.

I've completed this process, and didn't find anything. Bitdefender found a few temp files that I deleted, but as far as I can tell from googling were false positives. I tried an Avira scan but after running for 9 hours overnight it was stuck at less than 2% and wasn't moving.

I don't even know where to begin. Any ideas?

A:Extreme lagging, unable to open programs, malware issue?

Hello and welcome:

There are many causes for a "slow" computer -- hardware, software, malware, etc.

You might want to try some of the suggestions here (it is an older tutorial, but most of the suggestions are still valid) or here.

>>I would be very wary of any sort of 3rd-party registry "optimizer" or "tweaker" or "cleaner", especially without providing a bit more data about your system. Such programs often cause more harm than good.

Perhaps if you could please download, run and post both logs (FRST.txt and Addition.txt) from FRST, we could know a bit more in order to better assist you. If you are on 64-bit Win7, you will need the 64-bit version of FRST. You may need to temporarily pause your real-time AV in order for it to run. Be sure to re-enable your AV after running the tool.

Not even sure should i put this under this thread but here it goes :

Hello guys, its even hard to explain, like i got razer abyssus and all was going fine until all of the sudden it started lagging when browsing net, like its tough to even get to link you want, and when i go in the game i play(cod2) it's even worse, its impossible to play, when i tried connecting other mouse it was better when browsing the net(not sure if perfectly fine,i guess i lost sense of perception a bit after this) but i was able to browse net with no problems but again when i go in cod2 it's same as previous mouse so maybe it's got to do something about game, and maybe it was just better then previous one because it's new but it was still a bit laggy but i wouldnt say so.I recorded a video of the problem, here it is : So far i tried changing usb ports, checking mouse sensitivites and properties, reinstalling mouse drivers but im starting to think its something with system,or maybe some kind of virus got into? idk

My mouse is 'lagging' when i play games. It moves smoothly, but it is almost delayed half of a second before it moves. On my old computer, this was fixed by reducing the number of frames to render ahead of time, but on this computer i cant seem to find that setting. I am running an ATI Radeon X1300 PCI-E x16 512 MB with the latest Catalyst drivers.

When using this mouse on other computer it works perfectly however when I use it on this one it laggs. I have tried different mouses on this computer and it seems to be working so the problem isnt either in mouse nor in a computer hardware. I have tried using all the usb ports even changing configuration settings disabling touchpad and updating drivers however none of this worked. I really hope I can find an answer.

I have a ps/2 cord/ball mouse & I'm on WINXP - I've used this mouse for years w/out any problem. Recently it's been lagging, it'll freeze for half seconds at a time, then sometimes totally freeze. When that happens I'm still able to navigate with the keyboard. Then out of nowhere it will just start working again. Is it time for a new mouse, or is it something else? I've scanned for viruses/spyware etc, 100% clean. no irq conflicts. I've also uninstalled the driver, and let XP reinstall it, and that didn't seem to solve the problem. I have 256MB ram. also there are little to no programs running in the background

A:Mouse Lagging

I would doubt that your mouse is the problem. Something is running in the background taking up cpu resources. Press ctrl+alt+del processes. Here you will see which process is taking up the most cpu and memory resources. When the freezing happens, look here and see which one it is. (keep the window open while working on our computer that way it's open when it freezes. Once you find the process do some research and see what program it comes from.

Ran a search on google and here and although there are topics concerning mouse lagging, there isnt one with my problem.

Ive had Windows 7 for about 2 month now and this issue has plagued me from the start.

When i start my computer, browse the internet, anything like that everything is fine.

However, if i play a game, or use some 3d editing software like maye etc, after 30 mins to 1 hour, my mouse behaves very erraticly as tho it is lagging.

I use a Razer Lechessis, According to theyre site the drivers they give do not support windows 7 so i have removed them and just using the HID standard drivers from Windows.

I didnt have this issue in xp, just when i upgraded to Windows 7.

If i unplug the mouse from the usb and replace it, it loses all the acceleration etc from the settings and is even slower than it should be, only way i can fix it is by rebooting.

Anyone experiencing something similar? i sent a mail to the Razer Support but i never recieved anything in return, so im here looking for help.

Filled out system specs when registering but just in case:

AMD Athlon X2 6400Black Edition
MSI K9A2-Platinum Motherboard
Sapphire HD 4870 X2
Corsair TX650W PSU

I can't say when it started but in the last week sometime.
Lag i mean the mouse when i move it around the screen it stuck and jump from place to place random like a lag.
It's not moving smooth. Like stuttering a lot.
And it's the internet since it happen also just in regular work in any program or just when moving the mouse around the screen.

Typing is fine and program are working fine.

In Task Manager my cpu usage is around 1% and the memory usage around 45% disk i see now 0%

I'm using windows 8.1 pro 64bit.

Could be a microsoft update ? I know in the last week i had one or mroe updates and pc needed to restart.
What else can it be ?

It's only the mouse. Maybe usb ? The strange thing it was working all fine so i can't think that the mouse just like that something went wrong. Or maybe usb.

How can ic heck such a problem ?

A:Why my mouse is lagging so much ?

Well, first, plug the mouse into a different USB Port. Or, try a different mouse.

I had one cheap mouse here, that always seemed slow, so I unplugged it and replaced it with a Genuine Microsoft Mouse, and the slowness was gone. I also found out years ago, that a failing mouse can even cause a PC to Re-Boot.
So first I'd check the port and secondly I'd replace the mouse.

Mice, years ago could cost as much as $149, but today you can get one for $10 or less.

Don't let one little mouse ruin your day!

Happy Holidays

I recently restored my Win7x64 system from a previous backup. It's running fine for the most part. However all of a sudden my mouse has been locking up on me. How can I diagnose if it's a hardware or software problem?

The "freeze" of movement lasts about 1-2 seconds.
It's seemingly random; occurring from once every few minutes to only a few times an hour.
It happens regardless of the programs or number of programs I'm running. Firefox, LibreOffice, games, etc.

Because it's so short of a lag and it happens randomly, I can't be totally sure if it's the OS or the mouse. However when I'm playing a game, everything in game continues unaffected so perhaps it is only my mouse control that lags. Hmmm.
I figure this is either some latency issue with my computer, or maybe my mouse itself is dying. Is there a diagnostics tool/software/app/method out there I can employ to figure out if my OS is just acting up, or if I need to buy a new mouse?

Hello, I have a problem. My mouse is skipping around to insanity and it drives me insane. I've tried to Uninstall / Reinstall the IDE Drivers and bios, Ive tried the Hardware acceleration, I feel that I've been trying everything but it still skipps around. I run on a Packard bell Laptop. Also the CPU peaks every 10 - 15 seconds. I saw that there was a thread about this but it was for XP and I run Vista 64.

So hopefully you guys could help me. I also have a problem with a USB hub I have, It's hooked up to my comp via a passive 5m USB cable, but it has its own electricity so it should match it up, still everytime my comp saves something to my USB Harddrive both my USB mouse and USB Keyboard gets turned off and on 4 - 5 times and then gets shut down permanently til i dissconect and recconect the USB hub

Maybe it has something to do with my current problem? Anyways Thanks in advance for the help

Since I upgraded to Windows 10 I sadly have problems with the mouse cursor being laggy in some situations.
It's not a hardware issue as in the other thread about that topic over here (that's why I started a new topic), as it happens to my touchpad as well and even "Keyboard Mouse" (Controlling mouse pointer via Numpad).

The effect is that if I move the mouse pointer around it will suddenly stop ever approx. 3 seconds.
It doesn't happen if Task Manager is in foreground strangely.

If no program is started it doesn't happen as well, the main issue is with internet browsers. (Edge, Chrome, Firefox)

I somehow thought it might be a driver problem and I updated graphics drivers and wireless card drivers, but both didn't help.

I hadn't have this issue in Win 8.1.

Do you have any suggestions what might could help? The issue is driving me crazy.

I found the solution, it can be seen here: http://www.tenforums.com/drivers-har...tml#post336879

Once starting to lag it wont go back until reboot. Any ideas?

A:Bluetooth mouse lagging out

It makes it sound as if it's clockwork LOL...

Normally either these work, or they don't. There's not much 'inbetween' so to speak, all I can think of is that there could be something else conflicting with the mouse, which could either be an IRQ issue, or a 2.4Ghz band/wifi issue.

The obvious thing I haven't said is whether you could be rolling along a ball of fluff in the lens aperture, or you haven't cleaned the optical lens in an eon or so, both of which would have a negative impact upon behaviour...

Otherwise perhaps it's batteries are tired, or it is simply now treading the road to dereliction, nearing the end of its natural life...

In almost every game I try, when I set a game up past the resolution it starts as, I get extreme mouse lagging. For example, in Warcraft III, when I play it at 800x600x16, the mouse is fully responsive. However, when I up it to 1280x1024x32, it's very unresponsive and takes a full second to respond. I just got a new comp, so I'd like to take full advantage of it whilst I'm playing games. Here are some specs

Athlon 64 3000+

Logitech MX500 Optical Wired Mouse

If you need more, I'll give you more specs.

I have the newest mouse and video card drivers, but they didn't help.

It's not just Warcraft III, but about every game thats less than three years old. Max Payne 1, UT2003, and more.

Can anyone out there help?

Hi guys, so I have been having problems with my keyboard and mouse for a while now, what happens is that for example if I'm trying to type something nothing will happen for a while and in that time I'm still pressing buttons thinking maybe it didn't register but then after a short while it will come up as mumbo jumbo on the screen, sometimes one letter gets stuck and it will repeat a certain letter, any letter, many times. Sometimes I might type a word and say for example every second letter wont register. The mouse also lags at times if I try to move it around sometimes it either is frozen or it roughly darts around the screen.

First things first I am using Windows 7, now I've had two computers which this happens on which leads me to believe it's most likely not the computer. Hey, I have been having problems with my keyboard (Razer Blackwidow Ultimate Stealth 2014) and my mouse (Roccat Kone Pure Optical). The problem I have been having is the problem of the lag it has. This does not happen every single time I start my computer (Lenovo Erazer X700). But, this has been a problem that arises every five times I may start up my computer after it has been shut down. The keyboard typing lag usually registers about 2 - 5 seconds after I hit the key, and the mouse will lag the same as well - 2 to 5 seconds according to my movement with it. This problem decreases my workflow, gaming experience, and regular use with my computer. I'd like to hear some suggestions as to why this may be happening.

Here are some important facts you may want to know:

1. I updated all the drivers for my KBMOD.
2. This usually occurs 5 - 10 minutes AFTER I start up the computer.
3. I use Windows 7
4. I have the KBMOD software updated already.
5. Have a great day!

I wasn't sure whether to post this in hardware, or viruses, but here goes anyway...

I bought a PC about 3 months ago, and got DSL connected about 1 month ago. Now everything has been working sweet up until 3-4 days ago when the mouse started just freezing on the screen every half a second or so. I have a Medion wireless mouse and keyboard both on the same USB receiver, and am running XP Home, and using ZA/Windows firewall as a firewall. The only other time I noticed a pause in the mouse was when copying to the clipboard while connected to another PC on the network (this happened even before the internet was connected, and both PCs on the network were standalone).

Anyway, I first noticed the really laggy mouse one day when I booted my computer up and everything was fine for afew hours...then I turned on the router on, and as soon as I was connected to the network/internet the cursor started lagging (pausing/stuttering) really badly.

Now, don't shoot me down here, but I have to mention I was using emule for the first time the prior day (and it wasn't for downloading illegal files either!...I'm never using it again btw). I also installed an Xpand Rally demo the previous day, and got an svchost error upon rebooting after the install. (Since then I have had this error twice more, but it is quite infrequent, and I noticed on the 3rd time the mouse stopped lagging for a while.)

I am having this weird issue where the mouse coursor is really laggy, but only if I'm using the touchpad. If I'm using a mouse connected over USB, the issue goes away. I've truned down the sensitivity on the touchpad, but there is no change. The issue is particularly bad if I don't have the laptop plugged into AC power. This laptop is only 3ish months old. It's gotten to the point where the issue makes the altop unusable, and this is not something I expect from a Lenovo product. Is there a fix?

Hello everyone,

I'm new to the forums and I'm here to possibly get some advice for an issue I'm having, learn something along the way, and help other people as well if I can.

I just built a brand new computer with an Intel Quad Core Extreme QX6850 processor. I have top of the line hardware and I'm running with Vista 64 bit. I also have 4 gigs of DDR2 Ram.

So here's the issue: My CPU usage is usually around 35-40% when idle and my mouse is constantly getting stuck and freezing for a few seconds. This usually happens when something is loading but I know this can't be normal because it's happening all the time.

I already tried reinstalling the mouse drivers and making sure they were the newest drivers. The mouse I'm using is a Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 6000 v. 2.0.

Here are the processes running on my PC:

Here are the services running:

And here is a display of my CPU usage:

I'm not sure what is causing this, so any help would be greatly appreciated. If you need any other information, please let me know.

Thank you!

A:Lagging and irresponsive mouse and keyboard

Hi guys, so I've been having a problem with my mouse and keyboard lagging or being unresponsive at random times. What I mean by this is for example if I'm typing a sentence, the first few words might come up but then it will freeze, and either after maybe 5-10 seconds the rest of the sentence I typed will appear up real quick, or only a couple of letters from the rest of the sentence will be registered and appear. Sometimes one letter might get stuck and it would go likkkkkkke this. Then there's the mouse, sometimes it freezes in its tracks, sometimes it can be seen roughly skipping to different parts of the screen instead of smoothly scrolling.

This has happened to me on two sets of keyboards and mice. First set was a wireless Logitech Wave keyboard and a Logitech MX1100 mouse using the older style logitech USB receiver. While I had this combo I tried plugging the receiver into different USB ports, 2.0 3.0, USB hubs, the USB ports on my monitor and an external card reader with USB port. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling software, also making sure it's up to date, I even tried formatting my computer. When that STILL didn't work I decided maybe I'd buy a new keyboard and mouse combo thinking mine was outdated as Logitech had brought out the latest unifying USB receivers. So I bought another wireless Logitech Wave keyboard and a Logitech MX Master mouse, this time with the newer style receiver. To my disappointment I still had this problem.

Yo. I'm using a wireless Logitech Performance MX mouse. The mouse itself is fine (when plugged into my Laptop there's never any stuttering whatsoever).

However, plugged into my PC I get pretty consistent stuttering, lag, etc. Clicks occasionally don't register, the mouse occasionally stops moving...

It gets noticeably worse in-game (League of Legends, Guild Wars 2) but even just idling there's noticeable stutter/lag.

I tried updating my USB drivers, plugging the receiver into different USB ports, I ran a diagnostic on my Processor, I tried some random **** I saw on Google (https://forums.logitech.com/t5/Logitech-G-Mice/Windows-7-mouse-stutter-problem-FIXED/td-p/800175), I ran a diagnostic on my HDD, I downloaded seemingly pointless mouse software (Logitech Unifying Software) and nothing has helped whatsoever.

My specs:

Mouse: Logitech Performance MX

Windows 7

Intel i5 4690k

ASUS Z97-A motherboard

Radeon R9-290 GPU

8 gb memory

Can provide more info as necessary. Thanks for the help.

Edit: MBAM / MSE scans find nothing.

Edit 2: oddly, the mouse lag is worst in the bottom-left of my screen? WTF? It also seems to get worse when I alt-tab.

A:My mouse is constantly shuttering, lagging and not responsive like it should be

Greetings zhijie and to BleepingComputer's Virus/Trojan/Spyware/Malware Removal forum. My name is Oh My! and I am here to help you! Now that we are "friends" please call me Gary.If you would allow me to call you by your first name I would prefer to do that.===================================================Ground Rules:First, I would like to inform you that most of us here at Bleeping Computer offer our expert assistance out of the goodness of our hearts. Some steps may be a bit complicated. If things are not clear, be sure to stop and let me know. We need to work on this together with confidence. Please copy and paste all logs into your post unless directed otherwise. Please do not re-run any programs I suggest. If you encounter problems ... Ok this is getting REALLY frustrating!

For some reason my mouse cursor & functions are lagging behind by a few seconds. Even when I type sometimes it takes a few seconds for the words to appear. Hightlighting doesnt work right away and sometimes the cursor takes a few seconds to even appear.

Any ideas what this is at all & how to fix it?

It just started in the last day or so and I cant deal with this any more.

A:Mouse cursor & functions are lagging behind by a few seconds

Sounds like it may be memory. Take memtest86 and tell us how it goes.

You may also want to check graphics card and drivers.

Whenever there is an unexpected change, I always recommend a anti virus scan
and to
Download and run a scan with malwarebytes.

Since it is so easy, type cmd, in search. Then right click and run as administrator. Then in cmd type sfc /scannow

If available, try another mouse, too.

I have a decent computer that I bought in January from Ibuypower. It's a Athlon 64 3000+, Nvidia GeForce FX 5200 128mb, 512DDR, and so on. I will give more details it if is necessary.
Ever since I bought this new computer it won't run games with higher resolutions than the default resolutions. For example, in both Max Payne and UT2003 (single player), if I up the resolution even one selection the game becomes slower almost to the point of being unplayable. In addition the mouse becomes very laggy and unresponsive. There is about a second delay from when I move the mouse until the cursor moves. Now I have updated my mouse (Logitech MX500), video card, and processor drivers and nothing seems to help. Shouldn't my computer at least be able to run Max Payne on it's full settings? And why is my mouse so laggy? It frustrates me because for the longest time I had a computer where I always played games on the lowest settings. Now I have a decent gaming computer but I still can't enjoy the graphical settings of years old games! Can anybody please help me? If you need any more details or anything, just ask, I will do whatever I can to help figure out my problem.

I recently bought the new XPS 15 laptop and since receiving it the cursor laggs when I open the start menu and move it over the border onto the desktop. It also continues by itself even when I remove my hand from the touchpad and takes some time to respond. If I have another window open on the desktop and open the start menu the cursor works fine over that menu also but once over the border and hovering over the desktop the lagg starts again. It works perfectly otherwise, just once the start menu is up. Also works fine in safe mode and as I said has been like this since receiving the laptop.Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Like the title reads. Was browsing on google after exiting a game and out of the blue the mouse started lagging or moving slow/jumping. Then after a few seconds the PC froze and i had to force a reboot. What caused this? I don't have any malware, and I run CCleaner and Auslogics DiskDefrag on a regular basis. This has never happend before. My PC specs are under the my system tab to the left. I don't have any heat issues neither. The computer is barely one year old.

A:[SOLVED] Mouse started lagging and then my PC froze entirely

Hi CCleaner can be a dangerous thing to use unless you disable the reg cleaner as some can remove entries which are dormant but required.
Heat can also affect your system as can outdated drivers so checking the graphics card makers support pages for updates regularly is worth doing.
A poor or failing power supply can also give unusual anomalies.
Kingston ram does not always behave well.

Hi. I purchased the HP AC 101TU with pre-installed Windows 10 last week. I am suddenly facing severe mouse lagging problems. The mouse is skipping, lagging, not highlighting options upon right click, and basically not in a workable condition. When I am trying to get into Control Panel to adjust the mouse settings, a prompt screen is showing "Unable to connect to the Synaptics Pointing Device Driver. If you have installed another PS/2 Pointing Device Driver please uninstall the Synaptics Driver by clicking on the Yes button." But I have not installed any new driver. So when I click on "No" another prompt screen says "Windows Common DII has stopped working". What should I do??P.S, I have no external hard drives or USB connected. Please help.

I recently cleaned out a Spysherrif infection, I got it quickly and it wasn't able to bring too many "friends" to the party. Cleaned out a few IE toolbars it installed (just a precaution since I use firefox anyways) used the "Cleaner" the "SmitFraudFix" and a few other utils. Ran post-cleanup with both AVG Anti-Spyware, and Spybot S&D. Ran Full vrii scan with AVG, and now all reports come up clean.

I'm having a problem where when in game, or in windows my interface will freeze, the mouse curser will have no problem moving around, however It's curser (hourglass, size-NW, world-of-warcraft-glove, etc...) is stuck, and I cannot click on anything, neither can I type. If a key was pressed, it reacts as if it is held down. After a few moments, the computer returns to normal operation after acting as if it is processing a keystroke buffer (any keys I pressed after while it was frozen, suddenly react, IE. typing will finish, world of warcraft user will suddenly go insane).

I have ruled out the fact that I am using a Bluetooth wireless desktop by switching to a simple USB Keyboard and mouse, and the problem continues.

Hello everyone, first post on here! Got a X1 Extreme, Maxed out the options, soon as I got it I ran windows update and the lenovo updates. The problem I am having is the mouse will freeze randomly, at first it was doing it after 10-15 minutes, now it takes a while for it tohappen. I only use Trackpoint, but at first it disabled the trackpoint and touchpad, but a physical Bluetooth mouse would still work and touch screen and keyboard would work. Now it seems last time The Bluetooth mouse also didn't work, but keyboard and Touch Screen did. Very ODD Behavior, I uninstalled and reinstalled the Drivers, I also turned off REALTEK Audio which I heard is a issue and reinstalled it. I also Installed all the touchpad, ultranav etc apps from support.lenovo website just to mess with the settings. Once I noticed when the trackpoint stopped working, it was actually disabled on the system somehow. Anyways I would love to fix this issue on my own because I bet Tech Support wont know about this issue and throw me in circles. I feel as though this wouldnt be happening on a Stock Brand new Laptop, so it must be one of the Windows Updates messing with it. Far as Specs it is a i7-8850h, 64mb Ram, 1 TB ssd, 4k Screen, Lets see if someone can help me =)

I am having some serious issues with my mouse and keyboard but i think the problem may lie deeper than that.

The problem first occurred about 2 weeks ago while watching a film online my mouse started to stutter and was freezing for 1 second every 2 seconds then my keyboard turned off and became unusable the video began to stutter and became slower and slower until my pc crashed i had to reset and system repair.

the problem persisted with all flash videos. I could probably watch a video for about 5 seconds before the crash again.

i have deleted so much stuff off my pc and im now down to minimal programmes, i have tried games like Loadout beta which also makes the mouse, keyboard and pc crash, even not very demanding games like Terraria cause the problem

i have tried boot virus scans, normal virus scans, drivers updates including mouse, keyboard, graphics card, directx,

i just hope its not an expensive problem there are some critical errors in event viewer but i dont really know what to do about them or if this is the cause of the problem.

here are the critical errors http://img571.imageshack.us/img571/108/criticalx.png

any help would be brilliant.

Mobo: MSI MS-7635

Title says it all. I haven't installed or done anything different. The mouse lags, video and audio skips every second. It's constant, like literally every second. Never more, never less. It's not random skipping. I have had this laptop for 3 years. It works perfectly. This isn't RAM related. I have a gig of RAM and like I said it ran perfect before...any help on what is causing this would be appreciated.

Hi, I'm having a few problems...as in the topic my mouse cursor keeps randomly freezing and lagging, things are loading slowly and every now and then my graphics driver crashes. Everything seems to be a bit better after it crashes. I haven't been able to keep the crash error message up long enough to copy it but as soon as I see it I will add that if it helps. Help would be much appreciated

Okay i'm having a odd thing happening with my computer right about now
Some cases it begins to Lag a little then disconnect the keyboard from power (Keyboard works fine) and Recently the mouse, and i've had to Restart it when both devices stopped working completely, And as said both devices work fine, Mouse works great As does keyboard.

Thing what happens is, the Keyboard disconnects, and the system lags a tiny little, then it makes the sound windows makes when it reconnects it's been doing it for a while now, but now since it did a double device thing just recently when i had to restart the PC cause i couldn't do anything i'm getting concerned.
My suspicions are the USB ports are beginning to wear or break but that might be extreme? If it's a case with that i'll just upgrade my motherboard than have the trouble of trying to fix the USB's

BTW specifications
Motherboard: AsRock B75 Pro-3M

CPU: Intel Core i7 3770K/i5 3770k/3750K

(I turned HT off and as people said a i7 is a i5 with HT and more cache so, maybe fair to say it's a i5 3770k? or 3750k? :3 I do wonder that, and i do have the case with the cache since the i5 750
had 8mb cache but no HT so... ;D we can conspire)

RAM: 32GB DDR3 SDRAM 1333Mhz

Graphics card: ASUS Modified Nvidia GeForce GTX 550ti

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate Service Pack 1.

PSU: 750W (unsure of brand)

HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB + Older 500GB drive from a HP pavilion A1108UK
I've also done a few virus scans and nothing comes up at all, and... Read more

A:Odd Lagging/Keyboard and Recently mouse disconnecting Issue.

Where are you plugging in your mouse and keyboard? Can you try using both devices on another computer and see if they work fine there?

There could be 2 issues that I can see so far:
1 - Both USB ports/headers on the front of your case are faulty/have a bad connection. Please check the connection of the header you are using in the front for the mouse

2 - The Mobo's USB header that is connecting your keyboard is faulty/damaged/broken. You may need to send in your mobo to AsRock if you are still under warranty.

3 - There is a bad connection somewhere inside the cable for the devices, causing them to disconnect when it moves slightly - ie. the copper wire inside the insulation is broken, and disconnects when the cable moves.

As you said, AsRock Mobo's aren't of the highest quality, and it's possible that you have yourself a faulty mobo. Furthermore, lower quality mobo's are more prone to wear over time.

I don't know why you have 3 different CPU 'options', as the CPU will always be unique (ie. it's either an i7-3770k, an i5-3570k, or an i5-3750k - they are all different in some way or another). Please clarify this with us by following these instructions:
Step 1 - Open your control panel

Step 2 - Find and click on "System"

Step 3 - Under the 'System' section in the window, locate the processor. It should have the model number (either an 'Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3770k', an 'Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3750k', or an 'Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3570k'.Thanks.

My laptops spec is

Compaq Presario 2500
Pentium 4 CPU 2.66GHz with 448 MB of ram running on XP home with SP 1
(Don't know my graphics card or what I have =.= shows a ? mark for video controller on device manager)

I currently reformatted my laptop and was hoping to get rid of the random 100% cpu usage lag I would get during anything (even when i just watch the screen and only have the task manager on). My mouse would also start blinking for a couple of seconds when this happens =.=;;; I really don't know what the problem could be. I have deleted the partition and reformatted 100% new and it still lags when I open internet explorer or even click on the start button.

Also when I first startup the laptop, I get a screen where it shows you booting all the ram up to the max before it starts to run and asks if you would like to resume this and that up to the windows screen..

Edit: For some reason when the mouse starts blinking and usage goes up to 80-100%, if I press tab it gets rid of it for like 5-10 seconds o.o

Thank you for reading and help would be appreciated ^^. Thank you
