Yoga 910-13IKB Laptop firmware 1.39.00.00 neverending restart message

Q: Yoga 910-13IKB Laptop firmware 1.39.00.00 neverending restart message

After updating brand new Yoga 910 with WIndows updates, AND firmware 1.39.00.00 Windows asks to restart this one every time. Even it installed several other times the same update, it keeps on telling me it has to restart to finish. Then once it restarts, says during the boot below the Lenovo image - system updating, but it never updates it. And then again in Windows asks for restart, ,... just a vicious loop! How can I remove this firmware update for good?

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

While the firmware has fixed HDMI output, it seems to have broken my Type-C Ethernet adapter within a VMWare virtual machine. I am trying to use a Plugable Model USBC-E1000 INSIDE my Windows 10 Virtual Machine; NOT via bridging. This has worked in the past. USB 3.0 Ethernet adapters are working. Anyone else having this problem? Lenovo?

During basic use of the Lenovo Yoga 910, it has become extremely hot. The fans are also very loud. I understand this behavior during gaming, but this should not happen during basic tasks like web browsing. All the demo units I have used in stores do not have this issue. Is there any solution to this issue.

I got a red x next to my speaker with the error "no audio output device is installed".  I reviewed this solution (https://support.lenovo.com/it/en/solutions/ht501860) and uninstalled and re-installed the driver accordingly (https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/it/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/yoga-series/yoga-910-13ikb/download... I also checked for updates after the installation. While the driver worked after the initial restart, I found that sometimes it would stop working.  A few times I was able to get it to work again by just re-starting the PC.  Then it stopped working again.  When I check device manager, the sound driver comes up under "other devices". And the red x next to the speaker is back, and re-booting the PC has not helped. Please help.

I am wondering what the best choice is to squeeze the best performace out of this NVMe SSD. Some say chance the bios setting to ACHI and some say use Intel RST Premium.  I read this post from reddit:The issue is that Lenovo was making use of a disgustingly ugly hack to make it appear that a NVMe device was attached through an ACHI controller. Intel apparently added this functionality to recent chipsets as a shortcut to adding NVMe support to their fake RAID system. This feature is mostly undocumented and completely unwanted by anyone running Linux or using OS-provided software RAID under Windows instead of Intel's software RAID. So far, Intel has not convinced the relevant Linux kernel developers to add the necessary hacks to the Linux NVMe and AHCI drivers. In any normal situation, a motherboard firmware setting for AHCI vs RAID vs IDE modes has nothing to do with PCIe SSDs, because they do not connect through SATA ports. There are no PCIe SSDs on the market that the user can toggle between NVMe and AHCI, though there are still some AHCI PCIe SSDs that are based on the same hardware as their NVMe equivalents and are simply configured in the factory (permanently) as AHCI devices instead of NVMe. If a machine purports to offer a firmware option to change between AHCI and NVMe modes, it is lying to you about what that option means. If the choice is between AHCI and RAID modes but it affects PCIe SSDs, then selecting ACHI mode probably means the system will operate in a... Read more

The adapter cannot keep a 2.4 GHZ connection and has trouble with wired and wireless at the same time and is missing all advanced settings allowing you to turn off 2.4, etc... I will return my laptop unless this is fixed. This is a fundemental issue with the chipset and design.1. The adapter has no advanced settings. It has been stripped of all the standard configurations.2. I have watched this driver from a monitoring computer standpoint and on 2.4 networks it loses connections all the time and sometimes will get into a connection loop when there is hard wire and wireless are on at the same time.3. When both adapters are enabled it does not work well at all.4. Signal strength / antenna performance is terrible. Side by side comparison with other devices shows bad performance. -50 vs -90 etc... a big swing in signal strength. There needs a new driver with ALL ADVANCED SETTINGS - for example prefer 5GHZ networks.no settings

What is the size of your HDD.
Depending on the size of your HDD it can take hours or even a day.
You need to have patience.

CHKDSK Seems to Run Forever. What do I do?Wait. On Windows 7 and earlier, it can take hours, even days, to fully run. It’s checking every single file on your computer and the larger the drive, the longer it will take. If you interrupt it, you’re just preventing it from doing it’s job. So when you start your computer again, Check Disk will start again because it wants to finish its job.

Will appreciate help - I am alarmed that most of my document files have suddenly disappeared from the desktop and, seemingly, the hard disk.  This laptop is eight months old and I initially suspected a "cloak of invisibility" problem while awaiting a software update.  Random individual files and folders appeared in the recycle bin, but most have disappeared completely.  Virus scan and hardware scan have not identified any problems or out of date software.  I did receive a completely blank email today before this happened (no visible sender, no subject line) - not opened - which is suspicious.  Researching this online, I see several related queries about icons disappearing from the desktop, but am doubtful that my issue is the same.   Still unsure if this is a Lenovo update issue or a virus disaster.   Any suggestions?    Many thanks!

I bought my wife a Lenovo Yoga 720-13IKB about a year ago and it has always had trouble connecting to the internet. We are now living overseas (in the Khalij) and her computer barely ever detects the WiFi network at all! This happened occasionally in the US but we could connect it via Ethernet so it wasn't really a problem. But it's pretty much unusable here because of the crap WiFi card, frequency, or whatever in the machine. I've seen some posts asking for help with SLOW internet but her computer almost NEVER gets signal or, if it does see the network, it cannot connect. PLEASE, can anyone help?!?!? Joshua

I've also tried the "sfc /scannow" as suggested in the chat, but the problem persists. I've tried to submit a service request, but I always get the message that the SR has been refused! Now I've switched off the bluetooth, and it seems that the problem is slightly reduced. I cannot use with the switching off of the bluetooth the pen! This is pretty annoying!  How can I get a service repair and/or get in touch with customer service to solve my issue? Thanks for any suggestion

I have a 720-13IKB and the left speaker has problems.  I have confirmed that the speaker itself is bad.  It crackles and sometimes it quits completely.  When it quits working altogether, I can tap my finger on the left side of the palm rest and get it to start working (crackling) again.  Headphones are OK.  It's not a driver or amp on the board - it's postively the speaker. Question is how do I get Lenovo to send me a replacement speaker set for this thing? I have one month of warranty left.  In chat with Lenovo, they told me I would need to send it in because me doing it myself would risk voiding the warranty.   I do not want to send this laptop in because I need it for business and also I don't want my data exposed.  The person on chat said I could remove my hard drive.  Well.... to do that would require me to open the computer case and take a tool to my system board to remove the SSD.  Then I would have to pay to send it in and hope that the person doing the repair would be as careful as I would be and not scratch or bend anything. Replacing the speakers myself would be easier and less "risky" than removing the SSD and sending it somewhere. Sure I can buy the speakers myself off eBay for $20 but I shouldn't have to.  Is this forum monitored by Lenovo?  Any assistance please?

Hello, experienced touchpad/touchscreen glitch repeatedly today on this Lenovo Yoga 910 laptop on Windows 10. After a minute or two from bootup, a greyed out circle or square would appear on the left side of the screen, and the mouse cursor would freeze and disappear. The touchscreen didn't register any input at all. However, sometimes it acted as it was registering many clicks repeatedly. The keyboard worked fine. It seems like a similar glitch was reported with the Lenovo Helix laptops. I seem to have resolved the frozen mouse by installing all updates through Lenovo Vantage. However, the touchscreen remains dead. I removed the HID-compliant driver in order to reinstall it, but now I can't find the driver online to redownload. Does anyone have a link? Or ideas about the touchscreen?

I'm experiencing a very annoying blinking/flickering of the built-in 4K display.Have a look at this short video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vdd4UICu_T4On the movie it isn't nearly as bad as in reality. The flickering is only visible with a blue, dark gray or purple color background. White, red or black is fine. The issue appears to be independent of the OS - the same can be observed in Linux or even in the BIOS.It all started after I attached a second screen (FullHD 24 inch using Thunderbold->HDMI adapter) in Windows 10 (latest Intel display drivers as of January 26, 2018).Just after connecting the external display the laptop screen went gibberish but the external display worked fine. After disconnecting the screen and restarting the computer the blinking started. It looks like a problem with the refresh rate. The laptop display behaves like an old CRT display with a low refresh rate I found this procedure https://support.lenovo.com/pl/en/solutions/ht500364 in another thread and followed it but unfortunately it didn't help.  The computer is almost brand new (bought in December, top version i7-8550U, 16GB RAM, 1TB NVMe, 4K UHD display). Any help appreciated.

Good morning, I purchased a Lenovo Yoga 720 13IKB 80X6 last november 2017 in the United Arab Emirates. Everything worked perfectly until July, when the laptop shut down and wouldn?t turn on anymore. I tried everything I could without opening the device and cancelling the warranty , but eventually sent it back in the store where I bought it, and they had to change the motherboard.  Now, not even two months later, same problem. That laptop doesn?t turn on anymore, and this time it also doesn?t charge (the LED on the side doesn?t light up).  I, once again tryed everything I could that i found on the forums without opening the device pressing the on button for various amounts of time, pressin the ''reset'' one with a pin... nothing seems to work. Problem is that I no longer live in the UAE. So now I have two questions : - does anyone have an idea of what the problem might be? - Can I still send my device for repair where I live now for free with Lenovo?s IWS?  Thank you to anyone who can help out, it?s very much appreciated. Sincerely,  A disappointed costumer

Hi guys. I recently bought new laptop (yoga 910) and don't properly understand its RAM specs. All oficial docs said that laptop have 16 Gb ddr4 2133 MHz, but tests (Speccy and CPU-z) shows that RAM have only 664MHz for one channel (16.0GB Dual-Channel Unknown @ 664MHz (10-10-10-28)). I heard that using XMP settings in BIOS I can change memory speed, but I can't find it. So, the questions are: does Lenovo downgraded RAM in all laptops and other users have the same specs, if yes, then how to change it (1200 MHz is less then DDR3 speed), else, what should I do next, is it something wrong with my laptop?

I'm trying to install Windows 10 from an USB flash drive on a Yoga 910-13IKB. I plan to do a clean install from scratch.

When I boot the USB flash drive the procedure to install Windows 10 goes normally until I have to select the HDD. It does not find any HDD drive. I guess I need to load some special driver for the solid HDD to be recognized.

Is there an special driver or trick to be able to see the HDD ?

Hi Martin,

That SSD runs in RAID mode so you need the iRST driver.

Download the f6flpy-x64.zip file linked on the left of the below page.  Extract it to a folder on your Win 10 install flash drive.  When you get to the "missing drive" part of the install process select Add Driver and browse to that folder.  That should get you going.
