Wireless Headsets

Q: Wireless Headsets

I'm looking for suggestions for wireless/bluetooth headsets with mic for PC gaming. Must work with Teamspeak or Vent as well as ingame voice comms

Preferred Solution: Wireless Headsets

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Personally, I like Plantronic & Sennheiser.

Thanks to everyone who offered advice in my last thread, but... after pouring over a ton of research and reviewing my options and gaming environment, it's clear that a 5.1 surround sound set-up wouldn't come to justice in the space that I have. Plus with my insomniatic hours, a headset would be kinder to the other people living here.

Do any of you have recommendations for wireless, surround sound gaming headsets? A non-wireless would be irritating as hell, since I get up to attend to other tasks and walk around my space a lot. Which is really annoying, since the ones that look best, quality wise, are Sennheiser wired sets (like the PC 363D). I owned one of their noise-cancelling on-ear headsets a long time ago, and I loved it (up until the wire near the base shredded from constant bumping around in my bag).

I am hoping to get:
+ Wireless
!+ Surround sound
!+ Mid-range or higher audiophile level quality in terms of the sound itself
+ Comfortable as technologically possible, since I will be wearing the thing for 6hrs+ easily
+ Long-lasting battery; for same reason as above
+ Open
+ Good for both music and ambient gaming sound

Above all, I am looking for QUALITY - something that will last, with great sound, long battery life and very comfortable. Even recommending me companies would be a great place to start, since I haven't gotten much further than Sennheiser. Let's just say I'm unlimited in terms of price, since this is one indulgence that I am w... Read more

Hello and thank you for viewing this post.

So here's what I need to happen; I require two usb headsets to both function on one PC. I need the sound to be delivered to each individual headset and the microphone from each individual headset to be picked up by the pc.

I connected both USB headsets to the computer. They are both listed within Control Panel > Sound. I opened voice recorder and both mics recorded successfully. I played back my recording, but it would only come through on the default headset. Switch the default headset and the play back would switch as well. Both headsets would test just fine without having to change the defaults.

So is there a way in Windows to deliver the output to both headsets? Or perhaps within Media Player to play to both default and secondary headsets?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi,Since I upgraded to Windows 10x64 anniversary edition, I don't have anymore sound on headsets. After installing and uninstalling several drivers I got my sound back, but for some reason it doesn't work anymore. What I tried:- installing/uninstalling several drivers for the same hardware (only from HP, spXXXXXX).- reinstalling Windows 10x64 AE, and installing the latest audio driver for my laptop found on HP webpage.- running Linux Mint live, and installing a small app to switch manually between outputs. It works: I can have sound either on speakers or headsets.

This is an interesting/wierd problem.

I just invested in a headset. When I connected it to my computer, it got recognized and all the drivers were installed. I blew into the mic and I could hear myself. I then tried to play some music through itunes. iTunes refused to play (the bar didn't even move) any of my musik. I then tried to listen to musik through VLC. Same problem.

I tried to buy a new headset. I have exactly the same problem.

Any ideas?

A:Problem with all USB Headsets

Are you connecting through USB or the audio/mic jacks?

The best idea when trying to test a headset is to use the sound recorder.

To access this you go to Start>All Programs>Accessories>Entertainment>Sound Recorder

Click record and speak ito the mic. Click play to play it back. If it works, then you have a software problem. If not, then it's a hardware/driver problem

Hey there folks!

It seems I'm having issues with USB Audio. I have an ASUS P5N32-E SLI motherboard with up-to-date nVidia chipset. I am running Windows XP Pro 64-bit, but the issue also arose on the same system with XP Home 32-bit.

It came to light when I bought a new wireless Logitech G930 and it didn't work once installed. I went to Logitech but have not yet found a solution to what I initially thought was a Logitech product issue.

I was preparing to reformat my HDD and set up Windows XP Pro 64-bit, so I decided to do it promptly and see if that would help out the situation. I got XP up to date and attempted to use the G930 without its software. The sound was incredibly distorted and off-pitch with a lot of static. Sometimes it wouldn't work at all. I even tried to use my older wired USB Headset (Plantronics 770) which worked the last time I used it, about two months ago. It suffered the exact same distortion/static issue.

Here are some details of what I've tried:

- All of my other USB devices work perfectly fine on any USB port I plug them into. I currently have only a wireless mouse and keyboard in use.

- I've tried the headsets on all USB ports to no avail.

- I've tried both headsets on my girlfriend's laptop running Win7, both worked without issue.

- There are no yellow exclamation points in Device Manager.

- I seem to have WDMA_USB.INF and WDMA_USB.PNF in my windows/inf folder. (I had read some suggestions regarding the ... Read more

I have kind of an amusing problem. I rescued an exotic bird that crashed into the glass of my workplace, and he has been part of the family for about 3 years. He loves to sit on my shoulder while I work on my computer. Recently he has taken a dislike to the wire coming from my headphone and microphones sets ( on 3rd pair currently). I have therefore decided to look into a set without wires. I do not know the difference between the two Bluetooth and Wi-Fi and of course sound quality is bottom line. I am looking for a pair around the $200.00 Mark give or take.

This article http://mikebeauchamp.com/misc/sennheiser-hd-555-to-hd-595-mod/ says that the $ 150.00 difference between these headphones is the maker just put a piece of foam in them to cripple the exact same innards. He further proves a point with digital cameras, The software is all identical just crippled to make a lower cost unit.

So I need some advice I don;t want to pay $150 for some foam , I just want a good headset with a microphone, To listen to videos and music I am not a gamer.

Yesterday, my G933's mic stopped working. Windows recognizes the device, but it can't transmit any sounds (on the bar in the recording tab), Skype, Discord, or anything. I've tried using another USB headset and had the same problem. Then I tried an old G230 with 3.5mm cables and the mic worked. However, the person I'm talking to on Skype says my mic keeps cutting out and they can hear sounds coming from my headset. (Might be a whole other problem. It seems like it'll mute every time I'm playing something loud on my computer.)

I built this computer about 2 months ago. Using an Asus Maximus 9 Hero. I've tried updating the audio driver and plugging in the headset onto other USB ports.

If anybody has any suggestions, I will greatly appreciate it.

Looking to get a headset for gaming around christmas. My inital search revealed the hyper x cloud 2, which seemed great for the price. However i have read about some people having issues with both the software and the durability of the headphones themselves.

My budget can go to around $200 AUD (an example in the upper part of this price range would be the sennheiser game one) give or take, its not set in stone. I am mainly looking for great audio quality, the mic is less important but still needs to be decent. For features i dont really know what im looking for other than some sort of surround sound (virtual/simulated or not).

And that brings me to my next question, will i need a seperate sound card? I havent really researched them and dont know if they are required. My system specs are in the usual place.

A:Headsets and sound cards?

USB headsets, such as the hyper x cloud 2 that you mention, do not use the PC's sound card. They are USB and take the digital audio and convert it to analog (audio) internally in the headset system.

I'm trying to connect my Bluetooth headset to a Windows 7 PC so that I can receive and make Skype calls. The headset seems to have successfully paired with and connected with the PC, but I can't get anything to play through it.
How do I check what is going wrong?
If I look in Devices and Printers, I can see the headset there.
If I right click on it and select Properties, and then look in the Services tab, it says that the headset is enabled for Audio Sink, Handsfree Telephony and Headset.
If I look under the Hardware tab, I see Bluetooth AV, Bluetooth hands-free and Bluetooth Headset.
If I look in the Sound control panel, under the Playback tab, the only device I see is Speakers. Should I see the headset here, if it's connected properly?
If I look in Sounds under the Recording tab I see Microphone (default device), Line in (currently unavailable) and Stereo Mix (currently unavailable). Is this correct, or should I see the headset here too?
How do I tell Skype to use the headset and not the speakers or the built in microphone? If I plug in a wired headset, it automatically switches off the built in speakers and microphone, and any phone calls that I then make will use the headset - why doesn't this happen with the Bluetooth device?

How do I debug all this stuff? How do I see how the headset is connected? How do I see what profile the sound applications (Skype, Lync, Media Player etc.) are using? How do I see what messages the answer button on the headset is sending?

Hello everyone, lately I've been receiving issues with the audio coming out of the wrong place when im using my new headphones. I'm not sure if it could be a problem with skype because it only happens when im on a call with somebody.

So every time im in a call with someone on skype, the audio from the call stays in my headsets just fine and usual but everything else starts coming out from my speakers. This is especially annoying because my headsets are noise cancelling and i cannot hear the audio properly from the speakers anymore.

Also the headsets i am currently using are SteelSeries Siberia V2

Hi Electros,

Skype has it's own Audio section in the settings iirc, open Skype, find the audio settings and in there you can chose from a drop down menu which device you want for playback and mic.

I recently picked up a pair of the tactic 3D alpha's yesterday as soon as I saw them on sale in Canada. They're great considering the $50 price tag and superb positional sound. My question is. Would upgrading to the Tactic 3D sigma which sports 50mm instead of 40mm driver units make any difference? I play a lot of CoD, L4D2, Crysis and pretty much any FPS game. But I also use them for listening to music on my smartphone/ipod and they're a tad quiet. I'm willing to pay for the Sigma's but what would the improvements be over the 40mm version.

So my headset does this thing where it's a total bleep to me most of the time. Or it's my computer, I dunno. (It's probably my computer.) I've googled these issues and come up with nothing similar every week or so for the past few months. I've got a little workaround for when I get frustrated, but I can't live like this anymore. And I spent way too much money to not be able to use these. It's time to ask for help.
I'm running windows 10, 64 bit, but this problem was occuring on 8 before I upgraded. It has also happened with a different headset made by a different company that would take rooting through old emails to remember the name of. It's probably relevant that the other headset also plugged in via usb and needed it's own drivers and such. This sort of issue has been going on for over a year through countless issues.
Anyway, sometimes my headset makes things that play audio not work. VLC will usually open a video file but never play even a second of it. Right now I have a youtube video stuck at 00:00 with no sign that any of it has loaded. In that case, chrome seems to be acting like the page hasn't loaded all the way yet. I also have a tab trying to load a google hangout with similar results. The page has the little moving icon it does seconds before you connect to the call.
Another weird thing is that, when this bleep is happening, I can't open that one control panel related window with the different audio/recording devices, test sounds, etc. And if it's already open wh... Read more

Hey all,

I recently began playing some online games (left 4 dead, etc) and now want to upgrade my analog headphones and separate analog mic to a Headset / Mic combo. I am using Vista32 Home Premium

From what I hear, USB is the way to go for audio quality as wel as the fact that the headset is treated as a separate sound card - which opens up some additional configuration options (assignment, etc) if desired.

Now, my question is, is every USB headset treated as a separate sound card? When people say this, will it actually show up as a sound card? Or will it just be recognized in device manager as headphones?

How are the Microsoft LifeChat LX-3000 (HERE) ?

This ABS AZ1 (HERE) seem like a good deal as well...

I want something that is decent for gaming as well as music....

I would like to choose a decent (covering the ear) set for around $30 online. Any suggestions?

Also, are the analog sets that have the usb adapter the same as a 'native' usb Headset?

Thanks in advance,

Hello. The Inspiron 7567 Setup and Specifications document calls it a "headset (headphone and microphone combo) port", but gives no actual specifications. All Dell laptops up to now have had the standard 3.5 mm jacks, so you should be safe using that as a reference. Get one from someplace that accepts returns.

I must say I'm a bit surprised that I can't seem to find a definitive answer as I would have thought they'd be plenty of people in my position.

I simply want to connect two bluetooth headsets (would they have to be identical?) to my laptop at the same time so that my wife and I can either listen to music or watch movies together.

I've seen a couple of answers on the web stating the Bluesoleil software will do it but they might be just saying that get me to buy the software. There also seems to be a device that you plug into the audio port (3.5mm) although not popular and that's not using the onboard Bluetooth chip.

Obviously this can be done using wired headsets but I just want wireless.

Thanks very much and hope you can help.

So recently I have been trying out multiple headsets on my computer and no matter the headset, I receive a persistent buzzing sound. The two headsets I have switched between have been the Razer Carcharias and the Logitech G35's. I know the Razer Carcharias have a known issue with the buzzing and I have contacted the support team and they told me to try plugging the USB into a cell phone charger and plugging the charger in to no avail. However, I used the G35's before the Carcharias (I have recently switched back to the G35's because the Carcharias buzzing has gotten too annoying) and they did not produce a buzzing sound. However, now the buzzing sound is occurring with the G35's. Could this possibly be happening because I have used up all the 8 USB ports in the back of my computer and I need to purchase a USB hub or something?

I've Been looking in getting a new headset for my PC and I'm not good at figuring out any sound devices really. Are there any good headsets for about $100 or less? I'm not looking for anything fancy just something that's good and wont c**p out after a couple of months. My top two priorities are sound quality (the louder the better) and good comfort for long usage.

I've look at ones such as the Thermaltake Shock Spin HD or SteelSeries 4H. But I'm stuck, I don't really know the difference (beside the fact that they look different).

Any help would be really appreciated.

My laptop speakers were disabled when I plugged in and plugged out the headset. Now the sounds are audiable in headset but not from my laptop speakers.

Kindly suggest how to restore my laptop speakers?

A:Speakers disabled when I plugged in and out the headsets

Barring a problem with the headphone jack, after you unplugged the headphones, try reinstalling the device. Go to the Device Manager, RIGHT click on the device to highlight it, then click Uninstall (DO NOT Uninstall the drivers). Restart the PC and when Windows starts it will detect and reinstall the sound. If this doesn't fix it, reinstall the PC vendor's sound drivers.

Is there a fix for getting my Logitech Premium Notebook Headset PN980445-0403 (goes behind the ear) to work with Ultimate? I need to be able to use it with my headset jack and a splitter with another headphone set. I also need to be able to use it with the splitter and some external speakers, preferably the Bose Monitors. The mic jack works with the Logitech headset (above).

I upgraded to Ultimate and suddenly these things do not work!

I need to be able to record through the mic with my headset on while someone else is listening through their headset or comfortably listening to speakers. (No external mixers, no subwoofers).

Wow thats quite an interesting setup. How is it that it doesnt work? Does the computer not sense anything plugged in? Or does it see it, but no audio?
Does the computer sees it, but the mic doesnt work?

You need to tell us HOW it doesnt work.

Are you using onboard audio (the one on your motherboard) or a sound card?
Try using each thing seperatly, such as jsut the speakers, and make sure that each thing works individually first.

Thank you guys for hearing me out, this problem has been bugging me for a while. I have a Turtle Beach Earforce Z11 Headset for PC, which connects through jacks as opposed to USB. There is a splitter for the primary plug, which splits the options into both a headphone and microphone. On this HP, however there are two jack options in the front : headphone and one that shows both a microphone and a headphone.  Upon connecting the plug in the headphone jack, I'm able to hear everything. Sound is perfect and I couldn't be happier, however it fails to recognize the mic...because it isn't in a microphone slot. Once I connected the plug into the combined audio/mic jack, I get nothing. I hear a tiny bit of static as it is inserted and suddenly my sound option on the taskbar appears with a little red circle and an "x", which tells me that "No speakers or headphones are plugged in". However on skype, I am told that my microphone is working just fine. The problem with that is, my actual microphone isn't picking up sound, but the headphones are picking up sound. I'm currently speaking into my headphones (which are plugged into the mic/audio jack) and I was told that I they could hear me, but I sounded muffled. The only other piece of relevant information is that a headset I had that worked through USB had no problems whatsoever. Thank you for the help.

I also have a a bluetooth headset (primarily designed for cellular phones) by motorola that I would like to use as my primary headset on my computer.

The bluetooth stacks are correctly finding the headset on the bluetooth network, but I'm unable to configure it to use it as the audio device. Does anyone have experience using a bluetooth headset on a PC and would they be able to tell me all the areas that would need configuration? Your help is GREATLY appreciated. Thanks in advance for your time.

Earlier today I emerged from a bathroom break to find my headphones in the middle of the floor with the plug bent thanks to my dog. Now the strangest thing has happened: My speakers won't work. I know they're on; when I turn them up I can hear a hiss, but there's no other audio. There's no evidence to suggest my dog got to them and it's almost impossible for him to reach. What has happened? The speaker plug is in the computer rock solid. The only remote possibility I can think of is that the computer somehow didn't realize the headphones have left the audio jack, but looking around I have seen nothing to suggest that the headphones are still registering.

Does anybody know what has happened?

UPDATE: I got the headsets fixed. It seems my theory might be correct, as the PC does not notify me anymore when I plug them in or remove them.

A:My headsets are broken, so my speakers don't work?

Were the headphones plugged into the computer when the dog got to them? If so, my thought is that the thing the headphone plugs into may be damaged.

What is the make and model of the computer?

So, as the title says, I am trying to run two headsets with microphones simultaneously. I am attempting to get me and my girlfriend on a raidcall server so that we may both talk with our friends and be heard and hear them clearly. I use a laptop that is running windows 7 home premium 64 bit. My laptop microphone simply does not cut it in this scenario. If anyone has any advice on this matter, or perhaps an alternate solution to my problem that does not require two microphones, I would love to hear it.

Thank you for you time!

A:How can I use two seperate headsets w/microphones simultaneously?

Forget the headsets with the microphone. You can get a Y-cable to allow two headsets in the same output port and for the microphone get one similar to used in broadcasting or churches and position it between you so it will pick up both of your voices. I think a better solution would be two machines logged in at the same time. Or in other words, it's not always best to share everything.

Alright. I'm starting to be at a loss for things to try.

I recently bought the system displayed in my profile from CyberpowerPC. All in all its been running well.

Recently I've begun having problems with my USB headsets. I don't have speakers right now (they broke the day I order my new PC), but I usually prefer the headsets for gaming and have never had a problem with them in the 5-10 years I've been using them. Until now.

When playing games my USB headsets start skipping, crackling and generally having sound issues. They've even cut off completely from time to time. They also seem to lag/speed up randomly. While playing Chronicles of Riddick: BUtcher Bay (From the Dark Athena game) occaisionally voices would rise up to the sound of chimpmunks for a few seconds before returning to normal.

The popping/crackling is not constant. It comes and goes. I can play for an hour and not have any problem, and I can play for 15 minutes and have it last. I can alt tab and it will go away. I can alt tab when there is no problem and come back to other problems. If i listen to music by itself there is no problems. If I listen to music while gaming both start having problems. Ventrilo has continual problems. Sometimes people can hear me and I can't hear them. That appears to be a buffer problem, as if they leave the channel and come back I start hearing all the stuff they said when I couldn't hear them. All in all, its been hell in a handbasket.
