I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

upon scan I recieve the following hardware failure with subsequent result code. Not readily visible as to where to enter said result code for solution. Link is vague.  H50-55 result code WHD01V002-WK72OL   Thank You for your assistance and guidance.

Hi there, Lisbun -
Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.
You're issue might be similar to this thread.
Can you try to run an HDD stability test by running Lenovo's HDD Diagnostic
If you have a Western Digital drive, see Data Lifeguard Diagnostic for Windows
If you have a Seagate/Samsung drive, check Seatools for Windows
If you get any errors on the HDD test, your HDD is most likely failing and you will need to contact lenovo for service.
Please update us how it goes.

The device is a 16GB Solid State Drive (SSD) that is used by the Lenovo box to speed performance by caching frequently-used areas from the main hard disk. The error indicates a fault with the SSD (I have had the same problem on 2 different SSDs after using them for about a year each). I'm not sure why the SSDs seem to keep doing this - perhaps the write cycle count of certain blocks is reached too quickly in this environment, or maybe the ExpressCache software used for this function is not completely bug-free. You can continue to use the SSD as it seems from my experience that it continues to work, but not quite as efficiently as the faulty block(s) would mean the data there would be fetched from the Hard Disk after all. It would be good to hear more on this from Lenovo so that we can figure out the best course of action.

Hello, Two times in the last two days, the following has happened: I unplug my computer from the power cord, and then the screen sort of splits so that the main content of the screen is still mostly there but is overlain by a copy of the screen flying around really quickly. It sort of looks like you are in a subway train passing really quickly by thousands of posters of the screen, but the window you are looking out is also a translucent image of the same thing.I took a video of it the second time, but unfortunately I was on the website for my bank, and you can read all of the account numbers so I can't share the video. Yesterday afternoon my Lenovo did a hardware scan and gave me the error code: WCP03E000-UN7DCG, which I can't figure out the meaning to. This preceded the initial event by about an hour. If anyone knows what is going on, I would appreciate the help. Thanks

And I once got a message like USB  port power surge after login. When the machine is down, I have no way to power it up. The only thing I can do is just unplug everything and use the desktop tomorrow.

My computer has been acting odd and I've verified I have no virus or malware. I did a hardware scan and came up with Targeted Read Test failed and SMART Short & Drive Test Warnings. There is a final result code of WVC007000-XM7VML. This is an all-in-one computer - product family is C50-30. Everything I've read so far indicates the hard drive is bad and will fail. I do have a backup of my data. Can the hard drive be repaired? Or do I need to replace it? Or perhaps the computer? The computer is not yet 2 years old - bought in Dec, 2015, so this is quite disappointing. If I replace the hard drive, how do I get the OS (Windows 10) installed? Any advise is greatly appreciated. TIA.

Hello all,
I started up my laptop this evening to be welcomed by an unfamiliar message. It continually flashes on a black screen stating:

For Realtek RTL8139(X)/8130/810X PCI Fast Ethernet Controller v2.13 (020326)
PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable
PXE-M0F: Exiting PXE ROM.

I did a little bit of checking into the error through the forums and noticed that there has been a couple posts discussing the possibility of a Hard Drive Failure. However, when I noticed that it mentioned the Ethernet Controller, I was hoping something else would be more appropriate to my current situation.

I would appreciate any feedback on this as i'm unable to get past the message screen. I was able to get into the setup screen and reset the BIOS to it's original setting but this didn't get me any further than before.

Thank you to all for any comments.

You should also have a set of HP Recovery Restore disk, since if the hard drive fails, you would need these Recovery disk set to reinsatll the operating system and all your software that came with the HP system. Here  is a link that has some information on this issue.

A:Lenovo G70-80 - PXE - E61: Media test failure

Hi Vlatka1234 ,
Welcome to the Community Forums.
Message means it failed to detect the device like harddrive from where it should continue the process of booting to the operating system.
"PXE - E61: Media test failure, check cable  PXE - M0F: Exiting PXE ROM"
Try in initially checking the BIOS if the harddrive is visible then reset the BIOS default if needed .
Turning on the machine using the Novo Key (item 2 page 78).
Reseating the harddrive  (removing and then placing back making sure that the connections are good) can also help.
Else, having the drive replaced or tested with aa known good working drive can isolate the issue further.
Update us how things go.

Hey, um I am here today becuase I am unsure what actions to do, nor do I know what this problem means. I did a hardware scan today in Lenovo solution center, and while eevrything else was a pass I failed the "targeted read test".I  do not know what this means, nor how it is harming my computer. I admit I am not a tech savy person at all, but I would like to be able to fix the issue. I rely heavily on my laptop for school and I really would not like for it to be sent away now if this issue is severly critical.are there any other solutions to fix the error, or will I for sure have to have my laptop sent in?

What model is the computer?  The disk may be failing.  First, make a backup of your important information.  I like to run CrystalDiskInfo (freeware) to check on a disk.  See what that says.

A:Solved: PXE-E61 Media Test Failure, Check Cable" Error code

You're trying to do a PXE boot (which is boot from a network server) and you don't have your network cable connected.

Are you trying to PXE boot? If not, you usually can completely disable PXE in your BIOS. If you don't need it, disable it. If you do, make sure that you are plugged in to your network before turning your computer on.

Your answer is the one that I use:  connect the drive to another machine.
First, I would hit F10 and try to see what the built-in diagnostics think of the drive.  It is possible that a software error wiped out the partition table, etc.

Your hard drive has died, I hope you made backups.
If the machine is still under warranty Dell will send a replacement.
You may be able to hook up the drive as a slave in another machine and access the data but it can be hit and miss, there is third party software that can locate data from failed drives but it does depend on how bad the drive is.
The only other way is to send the drive to a lab that specialises in data recovery, but it can be expensive
