T430s Graphics issue

Q: T430s Graphics issue

Ok, How do I get this T430s to recognise ONLY the nVidia graphics? I have it set to nVidia only in the BIOS, However, this thing INSISTS on using the pathetic HD4000 graphics when trying to play a game. This was easy to do for the T420. Why wont this work for the T430s? What I've done:Install ONLY the nVidia graphics drivers.... I still wants to use the "generic" VGA driver for everything. It forces me to use the nVidia panel to list games for use with the nVidia graphics. This doesn't always work. Is there a fix for this nightmare?

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Hey guys, just looking for some quick info. Long story short is I would like to play Rocket League on my laptop, according to systemrequirementslab.com the only thing I'm lacking is my graphics card. This is the result it gave me:  Recommended: NVIDIA GTX 660 or better, ATI 7950 or betterYou Have: NVS 5200M Click here for the latest Video Card drivers.UPGRADE SUGGESTED36th percentileFeatures: Recommended attributes of your Video Card    Required You Have Pixel Shader version5.05.0Vertex Shader version5.05.0Dedicated Video RAM2048 MB1024 MB So it looks like I only need a slightly better graphics card (increase the dedicated RAM). I wasn't sure if my graphics card was permanent but I found this old post: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-T400-T500-and-newer-T/Upgrading-Graphics-Card-Lenovo-T430s/td-... But this guy wanted to upgrade to what I already have, so am I in the same boat or do I have a seperate graphics card? I don't want to spend much money I just want to be able to burn some time while away on course for a couple months haha. Thanks for any input.

Hi, I encounter the following issues with my Thinkpad T430s:- sometimes the mouse pointer starts moving on its on, always towards the same direction and always at the same speed. Rebooting temporarily resolves the issue until it occurs again. Reducing the sensitivity in the driver software does not have any impact. Pressing the trackpoint and letting go does nothing to stop it. - the left mouse button acts like a weird combination of a left click + some function that brings up context menus, if available (e.g. on desktop). This happens using the trackpoint, touchpad and sometimes even when using an external mouse. - Right mouse button does not function at all. No matter what function is assigned to it in the driver software, it does not work. External mouse works. All this ONLY happens if the trackpoint is ENABLED in BIOS. If I disabled the trackpoint in the BIOS, touchpad and all mouse buttons work fine. I tried Windows 10 and Windows 7. The problems occur under both operating systems using different driver software. Therefore, I do believe this to be a hardware issue. Anyone has experienced this issues and knows a good way to fix it? Thanks in advance!

I've had my t430s for almost a year now and have been basically happy with it/no issues thus far. However, this morning I went to boot it up and it's completely unresponsive - no lights when plugged into A/C, no fan whir, nothing.  I've already tried the 30 sec power drain trick, verified the charger works, used an alternate lenovo charger(from a t430),removed the battery, both RAM cards, SSD, CMOS and attempted to identify the issue using the various steps recommended in the user guide, but to no avail.I suspect this to be a MB issue or possibly power socket related.  Alas the laptops factory warranty expired in June as it was purchased secondhand(and registered by me after purchase).  Any and all suggestions would be appreciated.

A:T430s won't power on - possible motherboard issue?

Well, I have replaced quite a few power jacks on T420s/T430s machines, but if that were the problem, you would have gotten low-battery warnings ahead of time.  When you disconnected the CMOS battery, did you let it sit a few seconds before plugging it back in?  I always let it sit for 5 seconds and then I press the power button 2 or 3 times before putting it back.  This drains all the capacitors.  (I assume you know that the main battery also needs to be out and the machine unplugged.)

As this is my first post,  Hello all! I'm a longtime Thinkpad user, appreciating my previous T60 and T400 for their repairability and durability.  I've just bought a used thinkpad t430s, and I bought a battery for it as it didn't come with one. My issue is, the battery worked fine the first couple times I used it, but now it drains instantly if I unplug from the wall. After I restart the machine, the battery says 0% (charging), and after a short while (10+ minutes) returns to claiming fully charged (100%). So far, I have updated the bios, installed the lenovo power management software, installed the lenovo power management driver, tried removing the microsoft acpi driver without the battery in, then turning off and trying to start on battery  (no luck turns off immediately as well, critical low battery error). I also did this thing someone recommended for battery trouble where you shut down the computer and remove the power sources, then hold down the power button for a minute. The battery health is good, it has had three charge cycles, and this number isn't going up with my little drop downs to 0% and back up to 100% whenever I unplug the machine. I would like help in figuring out if this is a problem with the battery, hardware, or software of the computer. I am running windows 7 pro 64 SP1. i7-3520M @2.9ghz. Thanks in advance!  Ryan

A:t430s battery charge issue

Hi and welcome, moreryanIs the battery Lenovo genuine, has Lenovo FRU p/n?Have you get it from the Lenovo related store?Could you make a snapshot of the battery surface labels with quality enough to recognize labels, symbols? As you can't publish images here, in the post yet, provide an external link. Also, as your OS is win7 and I hope Lenovo Power Manager application is installed, what are the values of the second half of the battery parameters (manufacturer name and followed) PM shows in the Battery tab? Make a snapshot as well.Answers and images are needed to understand whether the battery is faked since the battery for T430 should have HW authentication.

Recently I have been gifted with a T430S Thinkpad on which I made a fresh installation of Windows 7 Home. From time to time the mouse has a strange behavior : it operates fine except to scroll in dropdown lists. I have to use the keybord to do that an select an item. When it happens the touch pad doesn't work anymore. Switching  with an other mouse doesn't solve the problem. I have to stop and restart the laptop to recover the normal behavior of the mouse. Installing last drivers from Lenovo download center had no effect. It seems other users encountered a similar issue. Some of them got rid of it after a BIOS upgrade. Infortunately  I didn't find any BIOS to download. The only files avalaibable are just utilities to install a new BIOS. Mine is 2.05 dated 12/11/2012. So my question is where to get a more recent BIOS and do you think an update will fix the issue. Thanking you in advance

So the Internet on my T430s recently stopped working, and every time I try to troubleshoot I'm told to turn on wireless capability using my wireless switch, which is definitely in the on position. (I've even tried turning it to the off position just in case I'm really stupid and have them mixed up, but no Internet there either.) What I've done so far: 1) Fn+F5 gives me the message "The hardware wireless radio switch must be in the on position to use the wireless radios," which is unhelpful since it's in the on position. 2) Going into Device Manager and checking Network Adapters tells me that I have 4 adapters, and the Properties menu for all 4 says that "This device is working properly." I'm not sure which one is being used for my main connection, but all the ones listed say they're working. 3) I did some Googling and found some random sources that said you could use BIOS to override the hardware switch and turn wireless on. Wasn't able to find anything, so I'm wondering whether that doesn't apply for the T430s. Not super familiar with BIOS so I might be using it totally wrong. 4) I opened the computer up to take a look at the wireless radio switch. Didn't see anything clearly wrong with it, but I doubt I'd be able to detect a visible problem even if one were present.  So yeah, I'd appreciate if someone could help me with the issue. I'd prefer to solve it on the software side of things, so if someone could tell me a way to override the hardw... Read more

I have  bought Lenovo T430s laptop recently. The main problem is that it came win Ubuntu OS. I formated all the partition data and tried to install Windows 7. There was a "A required CD/DVD drive driver is missing" issue, where a windows prompts asking me to point the directory where to load that driver. It's on that step, where I should select where to install the drive, so I tought it was the HDD drivers. I tried with UEFI/Legacy tricks such as forcing my BIOS to use UEFI only or LEGACY only. I also tried to change the HDD options from AHCI to Compatability and many variations. Well at first time, i tried with putting the chipset drivers to usb disk and point the driver then uncheck the "Hide drivers that are not compatible with my computer" and tried to force it use my drivers. Tried with different drivers and every time I got stuck to the same problem. Then I tried with Windows 8 and Windows 10, It just installed without problem. Later I had issue with my Cooling Fan. It stoped working, So i returned my laptop to the shop, where I bought the laptop. They said that they sent it to a service and the service changed the HDD and the motherboard. The HDD was Seagate 320GB, now it is HITACHI 320GB. The motherboard is changed, because previous motherboard had Compatibility options, that was suited for windows 8, now it's gone (may be old BIOS chip/software or newer, I dont' know, my BIOS version is 2.7). So after I got my laptop back (repaired) I got it with new H... A:T430s Windows 7 Installation Issue

You need to add the USB 3.0 drivers to the WIndows 7 installation media.  There are several threads on this topic here on the forums.  It can be done manually (a real pain...) or with one of several OEM tools.
Here's the Intel one:  https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25476/Windows-7-USB-3-0-Creator-Utility
You may also need to make the flash drive UEFI-bootable if that's you preferred installation mode.  That involves some file manipulation, but not a complete rebuild of the media.

Hi all, I'm not most learned when it comes to tech so bear with me if my terminology or knowledge is incorrect, but out of desperation I've decided to post here. A few days ago I tried to boot my T430s but windows boot manager showed me error 0xc00000e9 before I could even reach the Windows 10 screen. I then went into Lenovo diagnostics and ran a quick test where the results showed that everything passed except Smart status Smart short self testDrive self testRandom seek testFunnel seek testTargeted read test Google seems to suggest that this is hard drive / hard disk drive issue - I don't really know how to fix this. I'm thinking of downloading Windows 10 setup onto a USB or CD and then trying to see if I get past the boot screen. From the information given, do you think my data has been lost or is this the kind of error where data can be retrieved? I never backed up important documents, it's safe to say I have learned my lesson. I appreciate any advice RegardsSM

Hi! I'm hoping someone can help me out here because I'm majorly frustrated at this point.

Regardless of the device I use, I can preview photos on the device and they are the correct color. They are also the correct color when viewed in paint, photoshop, or quicktime windows preview. However, they get fuzzy and green when viewed in a windows gallery or when uploaded to a site such as imageshack. I can open the same file side by side, one in photoshop and one in windows live photo gallery, at the same time, and one will be the right color and the other will be green.

Here are examples. This photo appears blue to me. This one is slightly green and fuzzier. The same file in the same format was used to upload both. What really confuses me, however, is that I viewed the link to the green photo on a different computer, and it looks the same as the blue one. So as far as I know, everyone who clicks on those links is thinking, "But they're the same and you're crazy." Which is arguable depending on the crowd but they really don't look the same to me.

I'm using a Slimline s3220n with Windows Vista Home Edition and NVIDIA GeForce 6150 SE Graphics. This is a fairly recent issue and is, apparently, inexplicably selective. I have played around with saving the files in various formats but it doesn't make a difference, and also doesn't explain why I view the same file in the same format differently depending on what program I use and when I upload it.

Anyone have any idea what'... Read more

Hi guys i've got a problem with my toshiba qosmio g20. I've had it running sweet on xp and i recently upgraded it to vista ultimate lite. It for some reason won't read my graphics card geforce 6600. it says the best driver is already installed for you called standard graphics adapter but thats wrong so i can't play games so im gonna put it back to xp but to do that is a mission. this laptop has raid harddrives so I need to install a driver. so i press f8 or whatever it is(can't remember) to enter the menu thing (this is at the blue screen before you enter the partition menu) it comes up with something like "please enter you manufactuers disk into the A:" but i don't have a floppydrive built in to be able. i've tryed usb floppydrivebut it doesn't read as A: so can use on of them. I've heard about useing nlite to put the drivers in a cd with the rebootstuff but i can't getit to read the drivers too. it was easy enough going to vista as you could insert a flash drive with drivers on it.

Please help me fix this or ill have to take it into a shop and pay them.

Hello forum,
So I just updated my Nvidea graphics card, and for some reason after restarting my laptop, in order to install these files to the system, the "System Thread Exception Not Handled" Blue screen error flashed on my screen, and later redirected me to an automatic repair screen, which attempted to fix this issue.
I ended up restarting the laptop on safe mode, uninstall my Nvidea graphics card and completely reinstall it from scratch.
But for some reason it keeps giving me the same error each time I restart my laptop.
After some research online, apparently there's an issue with Avast and Nvidea?
You will find attached the SF Diagnostic Tool grab all option files needed to view the issue at hand.
Any help would greatly be helpful.
Many are saying that I've not been installing the corrent drivers, but that's not possible, as it's directly from the MSI website (GT70 0NE) linked to the official Nvidea website, saying that the driver includes my graphics card (680M).
While other people are saying that maybe Avast is causing some issue towards the graphics card?
I have the Avast 2014 Professional Antivirus.
Laptop Specs:
Windows 8.1
MSI Dragon Edition 2, GT70 0NE, Intel Core i7-3630QM CPU @ 2.40 GHz 64 bit
Intel HD Graphics 4000
Any help would greatly be appreciated, I'm currently running my laptop without the nVidea Graphics Card Drivers, and seems to be fine so far.

Hello there

I'm here on behalf of a friend of mine who has a Dell Inspiron 545MT. He's a big gamer but he didn't read up enough about what quality of Dell products there are (e.g. Inspiron, XPS, Studio etc...) and bought this one thinking it would be able to run Team Fortress 2, etc... But the onboard graphics were pitiful and could barely run it on low settings on 800x600 resolution.
We settled for a Sapphire Radeon HD 5670 PCI-E which fitted. We had checked that the PSU was the correct wattage and it seemed to be able to run on a 300W. It worked for the first couple of days and we had all the drivers installed and all the games were running perfectly, but then it started cutting out 1 second after starting the PC up. Then it would start again, then cut out. Then on the 3rd time it would start up and beep and it would start booting, but no video output.
So we thought it was the PSU, and we got a 500W Corsair Builders Series.
It worked fine, then we plugged in the card and it booted up fine and we had video output and all. It worked for about 2 weeks, then it went back to the dreaded cutout loop at startup. It happens every time we boot the PC up, and only removing the graphics card fixes it.
What is going on??? I'm thinking maybe the graphics card is faulty, but I could be wrong. It could be the mobo...

Having graphics issues with world of warcraft, receiving distorted lines and took screenshots to add to this posting to show the difference. Oddly enough when your at a far enough distance it appears fine but when you get close enough it begins to show different imprints on the ground tree's or just lines in general across the screen matching the color of the ground behind it. Steps i have taken to resolve this process are as follows:

Unistalled and reinstalled wow 3 times
Updated and verified video drivers were good for my ATI Radeon HD 5800 series
Ran wow repair
Downloaded 3d mark to see if it was the video card or the game and scored 19500
Ran crysis warfare for several hours in the background to see if it would distort or if the problem was linked to WoW
Downloaded temp gauge to verify if my CPU's were overheating and 100% fine on that accord as well

Need a few more tips here as i am lost for words... i downloaded wow's last patch and this happened so it's been about 2 weeks i would say this has been going on.

I don't really know what the issue is, that is why my title is so vague.

I'll do my best to describe what the symptoms are.

Ok, whenever I try to open certain apps like WEI, try to change my resolution, or even just attempt to open an image file(.jpg, etc), my screen seems to just go crazy(for lack of better words)...

I tried to get a prt. scr. of it; I had to use hot keys to paste it into paint and save it because I couldn't see what I was doing at the time. When I restarted(the only way to get back to a normal screen) I opened up the image in paint(becuase I can't open them normally, my screen will screw up again) the image appeared as if nothing was wrong.

So I had to bust out the digital camera to get a visual of it for you guys.
The screen flashes when it happens, not to black, just like a dim-light very rappid flashing.

Another thing I noticed is that, it says my resolution is set to 1680 x 1050, however, my desktop icons and what not are kinda big, as if the resolution was really around 1280 x 768.

I've tested with diff monitors, moved my gpu to my mobos second pci slot, and I have the latest 186.18 64bit w7 driver, and nothing seems to have any effect on it. I've dual booted xp and 7; xp is fine. I've tried just having 7 installed and it makes no diff.

About one month ago I was playing a game (DAOC) and continued to have graphic glitches that would eventually reboot my computer. It once did not completely reboot my computer but gave me the error "NV4_DISP Driver has stopped working normally ect..." After about the 3rd reboot, my screen went completely gray with some horizontal lines through it. Since I could see nothing but gray I hooked up an external monitor which worked, but was full of vertical lines. I could only get into windows through safe mode. I eventually just did a total destructive recovery, but it did not completely reformat because of the issue with my NV4_DISP driver issue.

After talking to HP, and kind of coming to the conclusion it was a graphics card issue, I decided to fork out the money (because it is out of warranty) and send it in for repair. One week later I get the machine back where the paperwork said they replaced my "system board" and "Audio PCL". I re-install a few things including the game and load it up again. Everything works fine for a few minutes and then my screen becomes staticy before eventually rebooting. I go to my graphics card settings and watch the temperature which was idling around 50 C...and once I started the game eventually got to 60 C before it started becoming staticy again. Once it started going staticy I could Alt-Tab back to desktop and the static would go away when it was not being stressed, although lon... Read more

Hi there, I have been using my laptop for about 4 months now and since the start I have been getting continual problems with drop down menus and pop up screens not showing their content. It runs fine for maybe an hour or so but then they the above issue starts. All drivers are up to date, the program I find it happening most in is 3ds max, not even with model scenes open, just the program running. Once it happens once it filter through other programs down to simple menus. Any advice would be helpful.

I bought this laptop today, and i already found an issue with it, besides the "normal" keyboard pushing (seems to be a design flaw of this model" and the heat under the keyboard besides the touchpad, i tried running ungine heaven benchmark, only to find out the gpu used is the intel hd graphics integrated graphics card, even though it is set on catalyst as to run with "max performance". i tried installig te lastest drivers from your page to no avail, nothing works.

A:g50-70 i7 graphics issue

The heating issue is normal because underneath it is the HDD.to select amd graphics card.. right click desktop then select configure switchable graphics then select the benchmark tool you used or add it and make it high performannce.

So I just now installed Far Cry 1 onto my computer for the hell of it. Everything runs perfect but right when it goes in game the graphics turn a cloudy baby blue color. It just looks like im walking around a room with blue fog in it. I can barely see anything but if i walk up to something like it a rock it shows its real colors. I knocked down the graphics and everything but it still didn't work. Is there anything I can do and is this a common problem?

Thank You

My NVidia control panel is stutering and locking up when I try to connect another monitor and on start up as well. The only difference is it normally stops after a while on start up. It will continue to happen when a second display is connected.

I can't even get to the point of trying to detect the second monitor.

The error is Window host process (Rundll32) errors

Looking at the command line info from task manager It looks like my system is getting stuck trying to change displays.

I have a i7 920 @ 2.67GHz, 6gigs of ram, 64 bit Vista (service pack 2), Nvidia GeForce GTX-275 graphics card and a intel X58 motherboard.
The NVidia version is 258.96 with direct x 11.0

Can anyone help me out here?

1.) Have you tried uninstalling the hardware in Device Manager, and uninstalling the associated software; then re-installing after a reboot?

2.) If so...do you have current drivers for the software from Nvidia's website?

For some reason my computer has decided to be weird today. My navbar and folder look as gone to a basic look and for some reason the option to alter it back to Windows XP has disapeared. I could re-install, but with lots of e-mails and other things on the computer, I would lose a lot of information and need a large amount of discs.

The computer appears to be running fine, it's just annoying me why it's changed to the old win 98 look and the option to go to win xp has gone.

Hi Neal..

Are you the sole user of the PC? If yes, probably a good time to scan for spyware etc as you may have an infection.

If you're not the sole user, are there other users who have admin privileges who are able to make system wide Group Policy changes? If yes, you may need to see them for help.

In the meantime, unzip the attached reg file and import to your registry, reboot and it may help things.

You may also find the Taskbar Repair Tool helpful as well...

Hope that helps :-)

Hi, im having problems with my new graphics card. Its a Winfast A6600 GT TDH CARD. Its installed with no installation errors and all the drivers are updated. It has weird glitches whilst playing. I play the Sims 2 and it has Flashes of the game appearing in the wrong places, bands of grass in the sky, the characters have 'holes in them'. It looks like theyre 'shattering' or 'disintregrating'. There are strips, bands, triangular shaped graphics out of place. It still plays but obviousley this is causing a problem in the look of the game. Anyone got any ideas?

A:Graphics issue

Patch the game. Also, check the NVIDIA Control Panel's temperature monitor to see if the card is overheating. A temperature of over 50-55C at the desktop indicates overheating. Also, make sure you install the latest drivers for the card from NVIDIA's website.

Just recently put a system together. new asus P5KPL-AM SE BOARD, avga 9800GTX+ video card used my old p4 3.0 ghz cpu.650 watt power supl. 3gb corsair memory.
when i play a game the frames per sec. start at 50+ then for no reason the system slows to 3 or 4 frames per second just for about 20 or 30 seconds then they bounce right back to 50+ this happens even if i find a remote place in the game where nothing is happening and stay in the same place. any ideas ON what to try. Ive tried the video card in my other computer and it works great.
tried 4 different nvidea drivers older and newer with the same results. tested the memory on other computer works great. don't know what else to try please can someone help. thanks. O im using windows xp media center.

A:Graphics issue

You need to get hold of http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653.aspx and run it along side your game. It shows you what processes are using what percentage of the CPU.
It sounds as though you have a background task running that kicks in and grabs the CPU, thus slowing the game.

I have the opportunity to buy a T430s with i5 3320M or a G50-80 with i5(i think gen 4).The RAM and Harddrive i will change so that is no issue. What do you think between this two?The T430s feels like higher quality.

Hi Nordic74,Welcome to Lenovo Community! And happy to have you here.As I understand that you have query regarding which to buy G50-80 or T430s
Even mine preference will be T430s as it is a business class segment with better battery backup, screen resolution & lot other options. In G50-80 there is an option of AMD discrete Graphics and 15.6" screen but resolution is 1366 x 768 only.
T430s has security option aswell & lot of option for upgrade which is missing in G50-80 IMO.
I hope the above information helped you.
Please feel free to post in Lenovo Community Forums if you have any further queries!

I've just recently built a new pc consisting of:
Asrock K758X motherboard
Radeon 9550 graphics card
Athlon 2.4 processor

I'm running windows XP Pro and the problem I have is .....

When I first came to boot up the monitor would just got to sleep, at first I thought this was because it was an old old monitor with a new graphics card. So I drag out a new monitor and this seems to solve the issue, however. If I reboot/or shut down it does the same thing and the monitor tells me "no signal input". When I hard reboot the pc the monitor will come on. The strange thing is the monitor seems to work every other time ... sleep work sleep work. I've whizzed through control panel and turned off what I think could be any display power saving options and reinstalled the driver.

Is there anything I'm not doing?

Any help/advice would be grately appreciated

Many thanks

Is it the athlon or the newer 64 bit cpu that you have? Have you gone into your settings and made sure that they are not set up incorrectly: Right click on your screen somewhere, select properties, screensaver, power. Make sure that those settings are what you want. Mine are set up for - home office desk, 5 minutes, never, never. HTH...doc

With the card installed are you able to access safe mode? If it locks up in safe mode I would return the card. Does your motherboard have onboard video and have you disabled it?

If you have another PC you can test with you can try the card in that machine.

Hello and thank you for taking your time to read my post

I've looked in the forum, but could not find any posts with the same problem as i have, and i hope im posting in the right catagory. If there are similar posts im sorry for the double post

My problem is this; I'm having some weird graphics issues. Its hard to explain, since im not really good with computers, but there is some weird "shadows"
on everything written on the screen and in all the click-boxes (save, yes, cancel etc.), and the text is blurry and the colours on the text is kinda wierd. I've added some pictures to show what im talking about.

This issue occured while i was playin Homm6. I Alt+Tab'ed out to check some downloads,
and noticed this weird change. The reason i noticed it was because it was not long since i was out in windows and this issue had not occured yet.

Not sure what kind of info you need, so here is what i've seen posted in other threads.

Processor: AMD Phenom 9850 Quad-Core Processor
Graphics card: GeForce 9800 GTX

Thanks again
It does not show very well in the spotify image, but the colour of the text is yellow'ish/eggshell white now, but used to be clean white.
I also noted that in the pictures the issues i'm having is "toned" down a bit. The issue appears to be even more blurry and cloudy then the pictures show.

Just noticed that video has black spots in it, and something i can only describe as cartoon'... Read more

I recently had my computer crash due to "display driver" issues. It took me about 2 weeks to finally figure out what was going on.
Today, i reinstalled windows 7 home premium on my parents computer with my HD to finish installation (the display driver caused installation to fail)

When i put my HD back into my computer, it booted up just fine the first time. Then after i booted again right after, the screen was blank.

So i reboot, it goes through the welcome start up screeb, then right after (user acc log in screen) the screen goes blank and only the mouse arrow shows up. I tried to boot into safe mode but it did the same thing.

Is this a graphics card/driver error? If so how can i fix it?
I'm about to put my HD back into parents comp, so can soneone tell me what to do from there?

Much appreciated.

I'm having difficulty following you.

One computer = one license (unless you have the family pack).

An install is performed using a DVD or a USB stick or over a network (seldom the case for home users).

Hi there -

I am having an issue with my laptop shutting down without warning. The screen will flicker and flash to black several times; a box appears to say there is an issue with Intel graphics, though it doesn't stay up long enough for me to make note of it. The computer then momentarily flashes to a blue screen that gives details about how the computer is shutting down to protect itself (again, not enough time to make note), and then it restarts. This has been occurring 3-4 times daily.

I have done a full system virus scan, and nothing has been detected.

I am using an Acer Aspire 5315 with Windows 7.

Can someone offer up a suggestion?

Thank you!
