WWAN: No connections available (T430S, H5321 gw, Win7)

Q: WWAN: No connections available (T430S, H5321 gw, Win7)

Hello, I have a SIM-card installed in my T430s (working with Win7 64). It worked fine, but I didn't use it for about 3 months and now I'm not able to get a connection: It just doesn't appear in "available connections". The button to deactivate the flight-mode is on (allowing connections, WLAN is working). There is a "Mobile Broadbandconnection" in "Networkconnections" (Not connected, H5321 gw Mobile Broadband Driver). When clicking on "Diagnostics" it says "The connection to the computer was either detached or the computer was never connected to 'unknown network'".The mobile ISP (T-Mobile) says the card is still active and yes, it's inside the appropriate slot.Lenovo Update and Lenovo System Health and Diagnostics are telling me everything is fine. The "H5321 gw Mobile Broadband Driver" appears in Divice Manager. Windows tells me it's the newest driver (02/19/2013).I saw suggestions that the WWAN might be turned off in BIOS, but couldn't find such a switch. The BIOS is from 2016-09-12.I tried to install the newest firmware from http://support.lenovo.com/de/de/downloads/ds111734, but it gives errors:TL:Device ERROR <<<< TlLocDeviceSerialReceive() - Timeout.
TL:Device ERROR <<<< TlLocDeviceSerialReceive() - Timeout.
(some more of that)
ECP:Device ERROR Failed to identify module. Close device. Any idea how to get to know what the error might be?

Preferred Solution: WWAN: No connections available (T430S, H5321 gw, Win7)

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Hi Guys,First off, thank you for this very wonderful resource. Now, I will try to make this short and simple and hope someone can help me out.I currently am using a T430s which I ordered a Sierra MC7550 (GOBI 4000) mini PCI card for to have internet (4G) on the go via verizon.I followed all instructions and installed the card without any issue. I booted the notebook and notice a little popup in my tool tray that said the hardware was not successfully installed. I then tried using System update to install the driver which seemed to have installed everything successfully. I opened my network connections and still didn't see the new device so I decided to open up device manager and saw that something was wrong. The MC7750 was listed under "Other devices" instead of "Networking" and had the yellow exclamation point next to it.Currently the exact error is as follows:The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)There is no driver selected for the device information set or element. To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver.I tried manually downloading/installing the driver from Lenovo's site, using System update, manually pointing to the downloaded driver's path and nothing seems to fix it.I am hoping someone could help me here. I'm not sure if this is Lenovo branded or not however I'm not getting any BIOS errors upon boot. I'm running the latest BIOS and Windows 7 Pro 64bit.There's not much information on this card via the net and I assume this is because of it... Read more

UPDATE: After hours and hours of research and contacting lenovo support via phone to no avail I decided to install the MC770 driver (same device, but for AT&T) and downloaded the installation file from AT&T and VIOLA! It installed and I was able to see it in my device manager under Network adapters.I'm not sure if its fully working yet because I had no idea I needed a sim card.. I thought i could just call up verizon with my IEMI number and have it activated... either way I consider this one step closer and it leads me to believe that something is up with the driver download from LENOVO. Also, could I buy a prepaid Verizon sim card and use it in here or? IF this works fully and flawlessy, I hope this helps someone to prevent them from going through what I went through. Hopefully Lenovo updates their drivers.*** I ask that you guys still kindly reply to let me know if I am missing something here. Thanks.

Hi, I have a T430S that I bought refurbished with Windows 10 installed off of Amazon a while back. Great computer, but one day I came home to find out it wasn't turning on. I couldn't find any external problems, and obviously couldn't attempt to use the OS to find the problem, so I went ahead and took it apart. Unfortunately, I did not find the problem, but I'm hoping all it needs is just a bit of advanced turning off and on again. While putting it together, I ran into one problem. There are these five cables that run from the LCD unit to the inside of the bottom of the computer, right? Orange, black, silver, white, blue, I'm pretty sure. I happen to have absolutely no idea where those plug back in. I didn't take any pictures or anything, because I thought it would be simpler to figure out where these go, but after extensive Googling I can't find anything on these five cables. Nothing in the official Lenovo guides to taking apart the computer, nothing if you look up how to replace the LCD unit (it just shows you how to replace the screen itself), nothing if you Google where to plug in the cables on the LCD. I don't have pictures of the cables, but can provide some if needed. Does anyone have diagrams or something for this? This is the only computer in the house (other than my brother's desktop and the netbook I have upstairs which I can only use at night), and it would be nice to be able to do homework at home again.

Hi, about half a year ago my audio adapter started to stop working from time to time. The solution every time is to disable and, directly after, enable the Realtek HD Audio driver in the device manager. That time this happened maybe one time in 2 or 3 days. Today I have to go through this procedure a few times a day and it's becoming annoying... Do you guys have any idea maybe? Thank you in advance (T430s+Win7) /edit Maybe important could be the fact, that the audio adapter never at all stopped working as long as it's busy (making sound). If it would be possible, that it can stop working as long as it is making sound, I would have noticed for sure because I also use it for listening music, watching movies and even TV (I don't have another TV-receiver). Another detail, when it stopped working and I change the volume (audio symbol bottom right of screen, right next to date/time) I can't hear the ding-sound of course but also can't see the ding-sound (this green color jumping up this vertical volume bar that represents the sound which is made at the moment).

I've got a T430 with Windows 10 and my WWAN module is not showing up right. In the device manager it has got an exclamation mark and windows 10 is unable to install the driver on its own. I have read this thread which recommends to downgrade windows 10 in the firstplace, then upgrade the firmware and update back to windows 10 or use the Firmwareupdate tool which later got updated to windows 10. My Problem is, that i am cant downgrade and the new firmware updater for the T430 isnt working. Same with the driver update. Basically i have tried everything. The new driver update, the old one for windows 7/8/8.1, the new firmware updater, the old one.All i got was the error logs provided below. I really would like to use the WWAN module but it seems, i cant get it to work. What seems wierd to me, is that if i deactivate the module, it is showing up under "Network and Internet" but if i activate it, it is gone. Spoiler (Highlight to read)??And while the Network module isnt working, the gps module is showing up without a problem and is working fine. Sounds to me like a software problem. If there is anything i should test or if you need some more logs, i am happy to help and get this fixed soon.

Hello everyone, i'm connecting to internet via a fast UMTS modem.
I've a shared laptop in my house, so i'd like to connect the modem, put something on download, and then switch user back and forth WHILE my user is *still* downloading

Fact is, when you switch user in win7/vista, it automatically disconnects dial-up connections.. i've long searched for an hotfix to that, and i've found it for vista/windows 2008 server
Link here
Problem is, the Reg key isn't enough, it's also needed the hotfix... too bad the hotfix doesn't run on windows 7 (also cause it may have different versions!)

Anyone able to get an idea about what to hex edit, or any workaround for that annoying problem ?

PS: Just for information, i'm using the famous RTM build 16385 etcetc...

Of all the USB connection in the list..only two showed faults - so I deleted them. No change and no connections still.... after another reboot... the USB list still showed two had malfunctioned - but by this time I had unplugged everything in the USB slots and refitted my old mouse and KB with the none USB round multi pin connections.
Norton scans showed no infections/malware detected McApfee Housecall showed nothing also.
I tried messing about with different things and two USB slots seemed to work... but dropped out after 1 or 2 minutes...not long enough to get wifi working... and the last three tries...they did not work again.
Can this be a virus/malware attack or a simple computer component failure??

Norton scans showed no infections/malware detected McApfee Housecall

You cannot have more then one Anti-Virus software on your computer, they will conflict and cause problems. We suggest you remove Either McAfee (use the MCPR tool) or Norton's ( Use the Norton Removal Tool) or actually both. And install the free Microsoft Security Essentials. MSE is free and uses lest resources and works just as well if not better then those big suites.
That being said, first try doing a System Restore to a time before this happened

Hi everyone, I'm a student and planning to buy the Campus version of the Thinkpad T480s with the Nvidia chip. It doesn't come with a WWAN module, but I'd like to add one. Information on that topic seems sparse and I tried to look for M.2 slot WWAN modules at different online stores. I found a few ones, namely- Huawei ME906S, listed to be compatible with 2016 Thinkpads- Sierra EM7455, listed to be compatible with the *70 series Thinkpads- Fibocom L831-EA (Intel XMM 7160), listed to be compatible with *70 series Thinkpads According to this reddit, at least the Huawei and Sierra ones are incompatible unauthorized for a T480s which, if true, is simply inconvenient, annoying and disappointing. As I mentioned above, buying a Thinkpad with a pre-installed LTE module is not an option because I'd like to have the Nvidia chip and am buying a Lenovo Campus Thinkpad which comes at a reduced price (and in Germany, it's the only way to get one with an Nvidia chip). As the Lenovo configurator and the T480s platform specifications indicate, the Fibocom L830-EB (Intel XMM 7262) and Fibocom L850-GL (Intel XMM 7360) are officially used and should definitely be compatible. However, I can't find them anywhere except pre-configured with a Thinkpad, which is not an option for me. Can anyone please help me with either of the following:- Is the Fibocom L831-EA (Intel XMM 7160) authorized for and compatible with the T480s?- Is there any place where I can get a Fibocom L83... I have been having a conflict with Win7 and nVidia 9600gt. Latest firmware. Problem possibly worsened by just-installed Synology DS209 NAS.

Win7 boots, then black screen, right after weird colors on Win7 Welcome screen. Computer seems to be running ok, but no display. Turn off power supply and reboot.

In going back and forth removing nVidia display drivers, I have somehow lost network connectivity with Win7 in regular or Safe mode (with networking). Can't reach internet or even my home network.

I still have network connectivity with WinXP (I am using that boot on the same machine, right now), so this must not be a hardware issue. I am guessing software, maybe lost or corrupted drivers? There seems to be some connection with the nVidia and nForce Network drivers?

I did re-install nVidia drivers, hoping to get back network connectivity, but when I went into regular Win7, got black screen again. Works ok in Safe mode, but no network there, now, either.

Other computers on my home network are connecting to network and internet.

Anyhow, I am at a loss to fix this and welcome any suggestions.

As requested, here are the answers to the basic Network Config questions:

1) My issue is with wired networking (gigabit ethernet)

2) ISP: Comcast

3) Cable broadband Internet

4) Modem: Motorola Surfboard
Router 1: TP-Link Archer C8 Dual-band Gigabit & wireless
Router 2: Belkin N600 Dual-band & wireless

5) Firewall & Antivirus disabled for this process

The rest are configured correctly.

Here's the issue I need help with: I have a few machines that have dual NICs. My intention is to use the second NIC on each to connect to a second router that's connected to my cable modem, such that I can use one NIC for ordinary Internet browsing, etc and the second NIC for use with a *software* VPN service (requiring configuring one of my browsers (either Opera or a portable Firefox installation) to use the proxy at all times).

Since both NICs and both routers need to connect to the same cable modem, I have the modem connected to a switch to distribute the single modem signal to both routers. Q1: Is this correct or is it a mistake?

Naturally, I have setup the two routers to use two different subnets and gateways and IP address ranges. The ordinary-use one I've set the gateway IP to (with the IP range starting from 1.101 ) and the second router's gateway I've set to (with the IP range beginning at 2.101).

(Note that I usually disable DHCP and use static MAC<->IP address binding, since I essentially never nee... Read more

A:Using Dual NICS under Win7 for normal & VPN Internet connections?

So I'm going to ask you a question. Why? Why do you want to setup such a complicated network, that will not even work? You can do multiple things with one connection, normal browsing and VPN though one connection. Using two connections for two different purposes will not bring any extra benefits and as you have found out, does not work.

Now as for why you cannot connect to the internet with both active, Windows just doesn't know which network it should try and use, they are two district networks but both have internet access....which do I use?! *Amendment: You might get it to work if the second NIC does not have a gateway set. Just IP and subnet.

The point of having two NICs is for fallover, load balancing, or multiple networks (without internet access on one of them). Not...for whatever it is you dreamed up.

The only real way you are going to get this to work is if the VPN router does not advertise there is internet on the other end. However, I cannot really tell you how to make this work, even tho networking is one of my things, I would never in a millions make something as complicated as this. I live by the policy: KISS, for this kind of stuff.

You seem to have chosen a Static IP address. The lease of this IP address has probably been renewed and that adress is no longer available.

Go to:
Start > Control Panel.
Network and sharing center > Left column: Manage network adapters.
Rightclick your network adapter > Properties.
Double-click TCP IP v 4 > Set "Automatically receive IP Adress" on both options. Reconnect/reboot.

Check that the above is the same on all network adapters.

Hi guys this issue is doing my head in.

This happened to me before a few weeks ago, I reinstalled and after about a week the problem is back.

The Issue: After a restart of the computer the firewall will NOT turn on, in the control panel it tells me to reset to default settings (1 Button) upon clicking does nothing.
In services.msc all other required services are running (Base filter etc.) the windows firewall is not running.
I attempt to manually start it and an error message pops up "Windows could not start the Windows Firewall on Local Computer. For more information, review the System Event Log. If this is a non-Microsoft service, contact the service vendor, and refer to service-specific error code 5."

So I did some research and microsoft told me it was an error with permissions, so I tried their fix it and other manual fixes with no luck what so ever.

What I think may of caused this, the BIOS clock is set correctly but on a fresh windows install it thought the time/date was wrong. It was stuck in 2008. I manually changed this, restarted fine and nothing went wrong for 2 weeks.

I'm pulling my hair out here guys, any solutions?

A:Win7 Firewall Service not starting, blocking ALL incoming connections

There is something wrong with your system. More then likely some deep hidden virus of some type or there is a hardware fault.

If the BIOS Real Time Clock is set correctly and the CMOS battery is still good then the OS will pick up that time and date and all you should need to change is the Time Zone setting to your location. After that it should not change. If it is then there is something on your PC that is causing the change.

If you didn't to a Clean Wipe of the drive when you reinstalled whatever caused this problem the first time got left over and is infecting your computer again.

Look at this to Clean your drive and then Reinstall.

I have the opportunity to buy a T430s with i5 3320M or a G50-80 with i5(i think gen 4).The RAM and Harddrive i will change so that is no issue. What do you think between this two?The T430s feels like higher quality.

Hi Nordic74,Welcome to Lenovo Community! And happy to have you here.As I understand that you have query regarding which to buy G50-80 or T430s
Even mine preference will be T430s as it is a business class segment with better battery backup, screen resolution & lot other options. In G50-80 there is an option of AMD discrete Graphics and 15.6" screen but resolution is 1366 x 768 only.
T430s has security option aswell & lot of option for upgrade which is missing in G50-80 IMO.
I hope the above information helped you.
Please feel free to post in Lenovo Community Forums if you have any further queries!

I left my laptop sitting open and running for a few seconds while I ran outside for something and I came back and the screen was black. It wasn't asleep, it was just black and still running. I restarted and it won't do a normal boot. When you first turn it on the "Press Enter to Interrupt Normal Startup" screen will come up, and if you do so or not, it'll take you to a menu with all of these options. I have no idea what's going on, can someone please help. It's a ThinkPad T430s

Hi all!A new issue has been irritating me for a past few days. My ThinkPad T430s doesn't go to sleep when press fn + F4. Rather, the screen just blacks out but wakes up again to where it was left when I move the mouse. Even clicking Sleep through Start Menu does the same. Any solutions please?!

Hi All, My thinkpad is T430s on windows 7 Pro 64, I bought it for many yeas and it has been using well. But couple days ago when I want to use Fn+space to open the thinkligh and backlight, I found it didn't work. Then I try to use Fn+some other F keys, they all didn't work, so I know maybe the Fn hotkey got some problems.  I checked through google and got some information, but I'm not sure they are right or not, so I post it here and I really hope you guys can help me to solve this problem, thank you so much. Kitty

A:T430s Fn Key not working

Hi Kitty405, I know Lenovo Vantage has a setting to switch FN and left-Ctrl.you can enable this setting to change the function of left-Ctrl to Fn.  if this, the side effect is you will lose left-Ctrl , due to your Fn key is damaged. Hope this iformation is helpful for you.

I have a T430s with 8 Gig Ram installed moved to the SSD and reinstalled from scratch.  Now I noticed it does not see more than 3.3 Gig or Ram.   What do I need to do. Thanks

A:T430s Does not recognize more that 3.3 Gig of my 8...

You likely have a 32-bit OS installed, which has a hard limit of about 3.9GB. In your case, it is likely using some for the video card, which is why you see 3.3GB. Can you confirm what OS is installed on the PC?

I have a T430S which has a licence sticker under the battery for Windows 7 Pro OA for Lenovo. The OS that is installed on the machine is 32 bit, however I would like to swap to 64 bit. I'd rather not buy recovery media to do this, so I'm wondering if the licence code will work for just a bog basic Windows 7 64 bit ISO downloaded from rando-website?

Hi, I contemplating a purchase of a used T430s, and would like to know the screen resolution of the device. The seller is unsure, as the laptop has no hard drive, and he can only boot to BIOS. BIOS reports the model as 2355BY3. I know the T430s was offered with a 1366x768  and 1600x900 screen; however, I am only interested in a 1600x900 screen. Can anyone confirm which screen this model (2355BY3) has?Thank you.

Does anyone have Fn-F6 and/or "the black key" that do anything on a T430S running W10?  All the other keys work as expected, and I did load the hot key driver.  Just those two do nothing.

I hope this isn't a dupe thread.  I tried searching and couldn't find the info. I just purchased a used T430s that came with Windows 8, but at some point along the way someone installed Windows 10.  The first thing I want to do is make sure that this is a legit/verified Windows 10, and secondly how do I download drivers from Lenovo for Windows 10.   When I go to the product page, it doesn't give me the option for Windows 10.  It shows Vista through 8, but not 10. Any help is greatly appreciated. GBA

I just got a Lenovo ThinkPad T430s refurbished for about $350 as good as new with activated Windows 10 Pro and 8GB RAM (which Im going to upgrade to 16GB). At home I usually use my Lenovo H50-55 Desktop displayed on my 47" Panasonic 3D TV, and I want to have the same option with my ThinkPad just in case my Desktop should be down for any odd reason. But the VGA only output on the T430s doesnt transelate to HDMI digital just through a cable Ive bought. No signal on the TV. Ive read a little bit about VGA to HDMI conversions and ususally the people having issues with this have a transformer between the two and still they get no signal. Do I need a transformer, and if so; what kind, or is it just to do with lack of right driver?

A:T430S - VGA to HDMI

Hi again. Ive been looking at adapters. Do I need one that plugs VGA male, from the laptop, and a separate audio jack, or is only VGA into the adapter and HDMI out, without the audio jack, enough? Will this work? Its quite a gap in the price between the two. Kind Regards,Joachim

Hello, I have replaced screen on my T430s (used from T420s, because they are similar), before fully assembling (all the bottom screws), I tried to boot on battery and everything worked fine. After I finished assembling it, I couldn?t start my computer on battery, only with AC adapter. Battery is genuine (Panasonic came with T430s), I can charge or discharge it, tried battery gauge reset, tried to reset bios (take out CMOS battery), updated BIOS, nothing helps, by the way works with my T420s just fine (tried T420s battery on T430s same, nothing). Removing AC adapter causes laptop to shut off immediately.Am I missing something or it is a fault in mainboard?   Thanks in advance for any suggestions

A:T430s - Won't Start

It is hard to be sure without seeing it, but I think it is most likely the main (7-amp??) fuse by the battery connector, which is similar to the fuse for AC input.  The main battery fuse is separate from the smaller charging fuse.

Just got used T430s without HDD and decided to go with SSD.SSD model is BiWin C6370 500Gb. Windows is installed without any issues but aftr reboot it shows "a disk read error occurred press ctrl+alt+del to restart". HDD from E420s in this laptop works fine same as this SSD works in E420s with no problem. Any ideas what it could be? I tried clean installation of Windows 7 and 10. From Flash drive and CD. Same result. SSD passed all tests, even T420s internal storage test.

I've had my win7 laptop for about 3 weeks now.  I have an older XP machine upstairs.  I created links to several web folders using the info from my old machine, and everything worked fine.
Today, when I went to open one of my network locations (FTP web hosting), where it normally is under "Computer," there was only a file inside called Target.lnk .  Normally you see the web folder contents.
I had 2 network locations like this, and both worked fine a week ago, and now show the above behavior.
Additionally, if I try to create a new network location, or map a new network drive, I get an error, "The folder you entered does not appear to be valid. Please choose another."
I know the folder is valid b/c I can navigate to it in my web browsers, and log in with my FTP credentials.
So, what's going on?  I've read that Win7 has issues with web folders, but both locations worked a week ago!
Any help would be appreciated.

I continue to enjoy my i7 T430s, but wondering if it might yet be possible to upgrade? My T430s (with NVIDIA upgrade) enables me to dock and drive THREE external monitors - this is a critical requirement for me. So I would like to keep that feature, please, but would be great if 1) There might be a comparable or smaller, lighter Thinkpad that would equal or exceed the performance of my T430s? (While still driving 3 external monitors) 2) Same as above, but one with a higher resolution, native screen? I am mostly a business user and have no need to upgrade from Windows 7 if that might affect my screen options? Thank you
