Perfmon/report system health report function missing ?

Q: Perfmon/report system health report function missing ?

I just wanted to know if MS removed the system health report feature from performance monitor.
If so how do you start a system health report in Windows 10, it seems to differ from Windows 7
where you can find in advanced tools "Generate a system health report" ? Thanks!

Preferred Solution: Perfmon/report system health report function missing ?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have windows 7 with Microsoft security essentials up-to-date but when i check the system health report(Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Performance Information and Tools\Advanced Tools\Generate a system health report) it says there's no anti-virus

A:Microsoft security essentials missing in system health report

It's said that since I began using Windows 7, in the Beta build 7000 back in January 2009. Using Avast. I don't think it's anything to worry about. The system is aware you have a AV installed. You can tell from the action center giving you a popup when you don't have one installed. Had discussions of it from a long time ago, can't remember exactly what the answer was for why it's like that though. Either something with the programs vendor not bothering registering some file with it for detection in the health report, or having to be on Windows 7 fault that they never bothered fixing yet.

At Start type in "perfmon /report" (without the quotes) and press Enter.
It'll give you all sorts of information about the system and any problems that it detects.

FWIW - you can also get to it by going to: Start...Control Panel...System and Maintenance...Performance Information and Tools...Advanced Tools...Generate a System Health Report

There's lot's of other good stuff located in Advanced Tools (such as the Performance Details portion of Event Viewer).

Probably nothing to be concerned over. It is only a list of events, tasks, errors that windows has encountered. Were you looking for something specific?
But it would be a good idea to sacn with Malwarebytes and Super AntiSpyware, see links in my sig. Update each and do a FULL scan.

In November I cleanly installed Win7 Ultimate on my machine and all has been great but for the fact that I am not able to generate a system health report anymore. I get the attached error. I cannot understand this as all the other monitoring aspects work fine: I can monitor power usage, defrag, etc but I can't generate the system health report. Is it possible that a registry cleaning recently messed up a driver?

I apologize that I can't provide anymore details- I did do a system restore yesterday thinking that maybe a Windows Update perhaps interfered with this but it didn't make any difference. I wonder if anyone has a thought or suggestion for me that might help. Thank you so very much.

A:System Health Report

Hello Lizzybee,

Welcome to Seven Forums.

If you don't have any older restore points to try, then I would try this. SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

If that doesn't work, then you might try this. Repair Install

Although I'm not positive that the reg cleaner caused this problem, I recommend against the use of registry cleaners as they often cause more trouble than good unless you know exactly what is being deleted.

Hope this helps.

I am running Vista SP2 Home Premium and I get a message every time I run system health reports. It says I have no Antivirus or Malware running on my system.
I have Avast 4.8 as the Antivirus and for spy/malware protection Spybot, Malwarebytes and Spyware Blaster.
For a while the security center ALSO reported no Antivirus/Malware protection. Resovled this issue by reinstalling Avast and rebuilding the /Windows/System32/WBEM/Repository folder by deleting it (temp stopping the WMI in services) and reboot.
but the health report still says no antivirus or malware programs detected.
System Center looks normal.
Been doing googling on the issue and seems that some vendors such as Norton have said this is a possible bug with both Win7 and Vista. Probably due to a bad windows update (the monthly ones). Makes since because this issue started not too long ago.
It's not a biggie but I like having my system healthy and smooth
Any other people had this happen?? If not, I recommend trying the health report (in Control Panel - Performance Info and tools - Advanced tools - Generate System Health report) for the rec I use control panel in Classic View.

A:Generate System Health Report Problem

Problem solved. For those having same issue: For whatever reason the "Generate System Health Report" function inside the Advanced Feature of Reliability and Performance module does not work properly. The graphic and detail is actually generated, but is not able to be displayed as a REPORT. To generate a system health report, you must set up a "USER DEFINED" data collection set.
Once a user defined data collection is set up, start the data collection and when it stops (at whatever duration you previously choose) the graphic monitor and html report will be available to view under User Defined Reports.

Without knowing anything about the testing program, I'd say don't worry.

The first thing that I can suggest is to get some more memory.
Your system report shows 1.87G of physical memory.
It also shows 1.87G of pagefile space.

You need at least 2G of physical and 3G of pagefile to run W7 in any sort of efficient manner.

I only looked at a couple of the BSOD logs and didn't post the results
because they pointed me to this as a potential cause.

Please run this as it may point out another possible issue as well.

Well People, Just to give you some feedback, It seems that the in-place upgrade feature offered to migrate from vista to windows 7 has some flaws. This feature imports files which are somehow corrupted or modified ,which can result in a number of small "glitches".For myself i resolved this issue by doing a clean install and this was the fix.apparently some people do not think that the in-place upgrade should be available ,for this has created a number of small but annoying problems.Best RegardsGreg

A service is reported as having an unexpected error code
Cause: One or more services has failed. The service did not stop gracefully, suggesting the service may have crashed or one of its components stopped in an unsupported way.
Details: Service exited with code not equal to 0 or 1077
Resolution: Restart the service

Hi, I seem to have some kind of a problem with my computer, but I have no idea what it could be. I generated a system health report because I was curious to see the results, and here I am baffled by this error. Could someone please help me with this? I do not know if it is a hazardous problem for my PC or not, but I thought it would be wise to check in with the forums.
Just to clarify, I have win 7 64-bit.

Run SFC /SCANNOW Command to check system File integrity.

If it finds errors it can't repair, try running it again repeatedly until it is clean.

If it won't run try SFC /SCANNOW Run in Command Prompt at Boot.

Hello,

I have two problems I need assistance with.

FIRST PROBLEM

1) I suddenly can't seem to generate a system health report with Vista. I
keep getting "an error occured while attempting to generate the report".
Before it worked now it does not. I always do a system health report almost
everyday. (I'm obsessed about the well being of my PC). I don't know what
triggered it, but here are some possible reasons I can think of:

A) I recently uninstalled my Mcafee trial software and then installed CA
Internet Security. I then received a series of Blue Screens. I quickly
uninstalled CA Internet Security and used Zone Alarm Free Firewall and AVG
antivirus. The operating system seems to be stable now (I haven't got a Blue
Screen since).

B) On July 25, 2007, I installed a recent update to Windows Vista. The
update is KB929547. (http://support.microsoft.com/Default.aspx?kbid=929547).
Could this have something to do with it?

Some things I did to attempt fixing this problem myself include doing a
start up repair (using the F8 key before Windows loads). No problems found. I
did a Windows Memory test while I was there in the boot options. No problems
detected. I checked the hard drive for errors. No bad files and only a few
reparsed records.

The problem still exists.

SECOND PROBLEM

2) I was doing some snooping in the "System Information" section. Under
"Components" and then "Pro... Read more

A:Can't generate system health report + problem device in Hardware & Devices

The first thing I'd try is just doing a System Restore to a date when you know it worked. Run rstrui.exe

You can also test the issue in Safe Mode.

If not possible, look in the Event Viewer (run evenvtvwr.msc and see if you can get any further information there.

I have no idea what that device is -- if you look in the Device Manager, do you see anything flagged there? Run devmgmt.msc

After running the System Health Report from here;

System Health Report

......at the System Diagnostic Report, I get a warning advising that the scan failed to detect running anti-virus, anti-spyware etc. protection, here -

......and yet at Start>Control Panel>Security Centre, all protection requirements are shown as up and running, here -

......is there any way that I can get the scan to recognise the Security protection setup, and so include it in the System Diagnostic Report?

I've had no problems with viruses, malware or spyware. This is purely an administrative issue to try and get the System Diagnostic Report to give a true account of the system.

A:System Health [Diagnostic] Report doesn't recognise avast! anti-virus, as installed.

Same here. If it doesn't recognise Norton 360 I think its a glitch. If security centre is satisfied then all is fine, otherwise it would be complaining.

Can you please describe in more detail exactly what steps you're going through to try and produce a report?

Maybe a screenshot or two to show where you are when finally push the last button that results in your "interface is unknown"?
