I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Welcome to the Lenovo Community !

Unfortunately Veriface is not compatible with Windows 10 and that is why the Windows upgrade removed it.  Please see this Lenovo Knowledge Base article regarding Veriface and Windows 10.....

https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/documents/ht104004

There is a third party software application that some folks are using in place of Veriface.  That application is called KeyLemon and more information on it can be found here.....

A:Veriface pro windows 10

When you looked at the compatability report for the upgrade, did it say VeriFace Pro was compatible? If not there's no way to get it back sadly, although Windows 10 does have built in face and iris recognition software. Edit: Corrected typo .

Hello,I'm facing some little problems that a clean install would definately solve them, but I'm afraid that if I install onekey recovery afterwords, it won't be or can't be 100% integrated with the system. There's this novo key on the side that it brings onekey recovery if i shut my laptop and then press it, would it work later after a clean install of windows OS and reinstalling onekey recovery? Is there anything that is really useful by Lenovo that I'm going to miss out on, if i do a clean install? Is there any risks at all?Thank U guys

I've been extremely frustrated with both the screen flickering and crashing during sleep issues.  I figured before I buy a laptop from another company that I would at least try a reformat. I was expecting devices to not be fully installed after the reformat but Device Manager does not show any issues.  PC is also running fine besides the fact that the trackpad doesn't right click properly and the resolution is off which probably can be addressed by installing the proper drivers.  What else should I install, though?

A:Yoga 2 Pro - fresh install of Windows 10 - what should we install from Lenovo's download page?

Download/install Lenovo System Interface Foundation for Windows 10 (32-bit, 64-bit)...IdeaPad.... That should install, among other things, Lenovo Vantage (ex-Companion.) Use its System Update function to find drivers/updates, download and install them on your system. You don't have to install everything but if you have "screen flickering and crashing during sleep issues" then I'd make sure to at least get the latest chipset, display, video, power management, etc. drivers.

P.S. If you suspect that particular driver(s) may be causing issues, then install them one at a time to identify which one(s) are bad.

My daughter let our dear friend Microsoft Windows auto-update her old Yoga 13 to Windows 10.  (Yoga is an early model 2191 w/ i5-3317U.)    The machine has been slow as molasses ever since -- basically unusuable-- so now she's using a different laptop.   My usual tricks (disk cleaning, CCleaner, etc.)  did not help.  Would like to start fresh with an SSD reformat and clean install of Windows 10.  (I have a separate version of Win 10 Pro I can use that was bought for a future DIY build.)  But I am very hesitant to reformat and try a fresh USB stick install without advice from someone who has done it on this proprietary type of machine. Any advice?  Suggested workflow to avoid problems?  Will a clean install -- followed by a round of lenovo driver updates -- actually work?   Or will this be opening up an ugly can of worms....? Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi there I would like to make a clean install of Windows 10 Pro on my Yoga 460 as it is very sluggish and did actually even freeze since I received it yesterday. Being completely new to Windows 10, Touchscreen-Devices and UEFI I am not sure which is the best way to go arround this. Entering the recovery (disrupting startup) seems like the best method for a completely clean install. Is there any easier way for that? Secondly, I would like to only install the minimum of Lenovo programs which are needed in order to use all of the features of the device. Most, if not all, to me seem like there are only an overlay of the Windows settings. Does anyone know what is required. Are only the drivers needed for the operation of the multimedia buttons/pen/touchpad/touchscreen/etc? I would be very thankful for any help/advice/link/... Take care Yogaguy

My Yoga 2 13 (Mod 20344) has a pre-installed HDD and runs Win 8.1.  I plan to install Win 7 on this machine from a bootable usb stick, and to avoid conflicts/complications with dual booting etc I have installed a Samsung 850 EVO MZ-N5E250 in the free SSD slot. I have disconnected the HDD, but I have left it in place. I have entered BIOS and disabled 'secure boot' and turned off UEFI. The information tab of the BIOS shows that the SSD is recognised. When I start up I get the message that the "Default Boot Device is Missing or Boot Failed" message. I go into BOOT MANAGER and I have no options available. I also need to change SATA to AHCI, but this is nowhere to be seen (presumably it would be available in the BOOT MANAGER). Any guidance would be appreciated. Ian

I tried to install a second SS in my Yoga. I followed online instructions, removed the keyboard, etc. and installed the drive. When I turned my Yoga on it did not recognize any boot device. I thought maybe there was a compatibility issue with the new drive, so I removed it. Unfortunately the Yoga still doesn't recognize any boot device, including the original SSD, which I didn't touch. Anyone have an idea of what happened? Did I possibly dislodge a cable or something?

Hello, I have a question about the Lenovo Yoga 700-14ISK (14" model). I see some are shipped with an SSD and some with an HDD. Is there place to place both an SSD and an HDD? Then I could for example buy the one with the SSD, and install an HDD next to it myself. It seems possible with the 700-15ISK (15") model, but I was wondering whether this is also the case for the 14" model. Regards,Loek

I've been trying and trying, but I can't seem to install Windows 7 on my Lenovo Yoga 900. I believe that it might have to do with the USB 3.0 drivers not being installed, but I already tried to inject the drivers onto an .iso and it wouldn't work. Anything I do, it gets stuck on the "Starting Windows.." screen whenever I try to boot from a flash drive. Is there no way to install Windows 7 on a Yoga 900? I've disabled secure boot too, and I know some Skylake laptops are able to run Windows 7.

A:How do I install Windows 7 on a Yoga 900?

Hello and welcome,

For Win 7 in UEFI mode you need to enable CSM support.

That's not an option in Yoga 900 BIOS.  Your choices are UEFI and Legacy support.  I don't know if Legacy in this case means UEFI + CSM or literally legacy - as in not UEFI.

I'm doing some other testing just now and can't fiddle BIOS to check.  If you want to try it go to the Boot tab in BIOS and set boot mode to Legacy support.

BTW, if you have a -13ISK2 or other 900 with an NVMe drive, you'll need the NVMe driver and will have to set the SATA mode to AHCI.  (which may require a BIOS update)

I purchased a Yoga 900 - model 80UE I am unable to install my copy of PhotoShop 7. I was able to install it on a Sager Laptop that also had Windows 10 and an i7 processor. The Autorun opens, and gets past the user agreement, and on to the screen where I choose Installation  or Explore Disc. When I click on the button to install PhotoShop, or Adobe Reader, there is a momentary spinning wheel that vanishes and the CD player stops working. After some investigation I found multipe instances of Set Up in the Task Manager - one for each attempt to lauch the Setup. These are listed as Setup 32 bit. It also happens when I go into the disc and double click on the Setup inside the PhotoShop folder. I have rebooted, as well as shut down, etc. Nothing will get the installation to kick in. Again, I was able to install PS 7 from the same disc and same external disc drive on a Sager laptop with Windows 10 and an i7 processor. If anyone has suggestions that might help me get this program installed (Adobe no longer sells PhotoShop, it is a subscription service only and I cannot get a download version of PS7 which is maybe 10 years old.) I still have a few days where I can return this Lenovo and get something else, which I will certainly do if I cannot install this software. This Yoga was purchased to be a remote audio visual work station. I was able to get my video editing and audio editing software, but it is worthless to me without Phot... Read more

A:Yoga 900 will not install Photoshop software

Good day and welcome to the community.Sorry you're having difficulty.
I confess no knowledge of using PS, so this is a wild guess, a really wild guess, but could it be hanging up on the 3200x1800 panel resolution? Like a hardware enumeration hang? Think it's worth it to drop the resolution setting to FHD and trying the install again?Corollary question: What's the native panel resolution of the other machine?

Edit to add: There is some interesting discussion here: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1941912Things ranging from just letting the installer run for a couple hours, to copying the CD contents to the main drive and then running setup, to running the installer in safe-mode.Regards.

Hi all, I was trying to install Ubuntu 18.04 on my YOGA 730 from USB. I followed the general procedure of booting from USB. Everything worked fine until the step of partitioning the hard drive. From there the installation window got stuck forever and I had to power off the laptop. I've also tried to enter the Ubuntu system with the option "Try Ubuntu without installing" and then run the command "sudo fdisk -l" to check the partition status and got stuck forever once again. I need Ubuntu for my work and since the installation failed, I have to turn to Ubuntu on virtual machine but it's super slow when running some programs and not convenient in many ways as a dual system. I'm really frustrated about that. Has anyone got same or similar issues and might be willing to help? Thank you.

I'm trying to install Windows 10 from an USB flash drive on a Yoga 910-13IKB. I plan to do a clean install from scratch.

When I boot the USB flash drive the procedure to install Windows 10 goes normally until I have to select the HDD. It does not find any HDD drive. I guess I need to load some special driver for the solid HDD to be recognized.

Is there an special driver or trick to be able to see the HDD ?

A:Yoga 910-13IKB: No HDD on Windows 10 install

Hi Martin,

That SSD runs in RAID mode so you need the iRST driver.

Download the f6flpy-x64.zip file linked on the left of the below page.  Extract it to a folder on your Win 10 install flash drive.  When you get to the "missing drive" part of the install process select Add Driver and browse to that folder.  That should get you going.

A:How to Re-install Window 10 on ThinkPad Yoga 460

Hello and welcome,

You can make your own media.  In the tool-bar's search box type "recovery drive" and select the "create recovery drive" option. You'll need a 16GB flash drive.

You won't need to know the key.  It's baked into the UEFI BIOS and is detected automatically - even in a  Windows 10 clean install.

To reinstall just boot the flash drive.

Is there a guide on how to do a clean install of Windows on a brand new Yoga X1 3rd gen? I want to make sure to get rid of any bloatware. I plan to download Windows 1809 if it is indeed available for download next Tuesday Oct 2nd and install fresh that way. How can I obtain my product key so I can activate windows after the clean install? Will I need to power on the machine and extract the key some how before doing the clean install? Or should there be a product key on a label on the computer or something that comes in the box that has it? Finally, is there a hidden partition or something that makes re-installing easy in the future? If so, how can I update it to the 1809 version that I am hopefully getting next week. Thanks!

A:New Yoga X1 G3, clean install of windows

I've done it.  There is no problem with the key.  It is stored in the BIOS and the machine will activate automatically.  If you are asked for a product key during the install, selecct the option to say you don''t have a key now.

Hi, how can I install Windows 7 Enterprise on Lenovo Yoga 12? When I start from a Windows Boot Medium (USB) the Windows setup can't find the drivers for USB and harddisk. So I have no chance to install it on harddisk or to add drivers for the windows setup. The package with the Lenovo drivers contains also no DLL and INF-files. I tried to unzip them, but I got some mysterious files and directories. In our company we are using Windows 7 Enterprise for all computers, so we can buy this Lenovo Yoga 12 only if we can install Windows 7 on this. Lenovo offers a Yoga 12 with Windows 7 Professional at amazon, but we need to reinstall it with our Windows 7 Enterprise. brPeter Piry
