I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Has anyone tried this or have a story to tell about power banks? My relatively new X1C does quite poorly on battery if I'm doing real work, e.g. compiling and running apps with Visual Studio & SQL Server.  Fiddling with the battery settings doesn't make that much of a difference so I thought why not carry a brick with me when on the road? I'm just starting to look into it but real stories from real users are just so much better than generic 'reviews' or hidden adverts that have become all too commonplace in the last few years.

Hi,just wondering if it is possible to charge my P 50 using a portable power pack whilst camping etc?Ideally, one that doesn't require my 170w, slim tip charger; but a solution of any sort would be great. I had in mind a powerpack which could service my laptop, as well as phones, USB devices and so on; but all my searching has led to dead ends.Electrics aren't my forte, so any advice appreciated, Cheers angus.

i'm trying to charge via the essentialphone charger which charges at 9v 3a (27w) but it's not working. it SEEMS to be able to keep it not discharging, however it doesnt charge. and if i turn off computer, it still doesnt charge. very weird?

A:Yoga 720 13" not charging via 27W usb-c charger

Not weird.  The 720 needs 20V to charge.  If your adapter can't provide that or correctly negotiate that it's not surprising that it doesn't work.

Hello,

This problem is from a friend of mine but he doesn't has a computer now. Yesterday he was charging his powerbank through his Laptop (Asus bought 3 months ago) USB port. After a while the computer was shutdown and won't turn on, even when it's plugged through its power adapter.

Is there any solution to this?
Thanks!

A:Laptop wont turn on after charging power bank

Hi and welcome to TSG.

As annoying as it can be to have to do it, your best option if it appears totally dead is to RMA the laptop if it is only 3 months old. Fiddling about with it too much trying to diagnose the problem could end up invalidating any warranty your friend has.

The only simple checks I would do are to try and power it up with and without the power cord connected.
Then remove the battery (assuming it is a removable one) and try it again with the power adapter attached.

It could be a problem with the laptop or that the power brick has just failed, it happens occasionally.

Hi, I just bought AC Outlet Portable Charger RAVPower 27000mAh 85W (100W Max). The AC adapter of my ThinkPad T480 is rated at 65W max. So I think the power bank should be capable to charge my laptop.  I tested it to charge my Lenovo ThinkPad T480. The output is unstable. My laptop LCD keeps flickering because the battery keeps switching between charged and discharged. I tried to charge another laptop like ASUS A series and a PC monitor. And it works fine. Charging my Lenovo from house AC power sockets also works like normal. Could anyone give me advice on what is the problem with Lenovo? Just got a Yoga 700-11ISK. It's great. Love it. Want to know how I can charge it from a power bank. The battery life is good-not-great. I know it needs 20v. If I snagged a 24v power bank and used the USB C cable,  would I get a charge? Anyone have alternate suggestions? I'll solder together something totally unsafe if need be.

I am getting some info from the Lenovo team on the USB Type C port if it supports audio, video or whatever application however seems to be that the Type C is just another USB port for portable devices such as external HDD.There have been discussions about charging the laptop via Type C however I don't think you can as its only suppose to charge via the AC port. A:Yoga 3 Pro / UNIFUN power bank

Good day and welcome to the community.

The Yoga 3 Pro looks for 20V input, 4x what that power bank can output. Also, the proprietary cable has extra contacts.

There may be power banks that can supply the proper voltage, but I think it unlikely that one has the proprietary receptacle configuration to match the cable.

Hi,I got and AUKEY PB-XD20 with USB PD (Power Delivery) 12V 1,5A - 18W.When I connect it to my yoga it charges it for few seconds than disconnects. Repeating the cycle over and over. The thing is - when I turned Yoga off and leave it connected to this power bank time the % of the battery is going up.When Yoga is up, after few cycles it gets crazy and hangs - forcing me to restart it. Can someone at Lenovo take a look into it and allow to charge it with some lower wattage while off? I do not want to break anything, but this cycle is probably worse than constant power delivery.

When I plug the charger in the message on the battery icon on the bottom toolbar reads as "73%, plugged in, not charging". Obviously the laptop is recognising the charger (i.e "plugged in") but it is not allowing the battery to charge.
I have installed every update on the computer and I have recently searched for any outstanding BIOS updates. The system seems to suggest there is a BIOS update to be installed yet when I try to install it the system says that it cannot detect a charger, and won't complete the update, or it won't complete the update without a charger plugged in in the first place. It's a no-win situation. The computer and charger are only 14 months old so this is very unsatisfactory. When I remove the battery the computer operates on AC power only, so again the charger is working, it simply won't charge the battery and therefore once the battery runs down to 0, which it will eventually, I will be limited to using AC power only.
If I restart the laptop with the charger plugged in it diverts me to a warning page saying that the charger is not recognised and I am given the option to go to the BIOS setup, go to diagnostics or to continue. If I choose "continue" it simply returns me to this warning page every time so the only way to power up the laptop is to do so with the AC charger out, and to then plug it in once the system has started so that the battery doesn't drain completely.
Please help.

A:Inspiron 15 5559 charger not charging battery (manufacturers charger being used)

An unrecognized AC adapter will not charge the battery.
First try a new OEM Dell adapter.  If that's also not recognized, replace the DC power jack:
www.parts-people.com/index.php
If neither the new adapter nor the DC jack solves the problem, you've got a bad charge circuit - replace the mainboard.

When it revived, it still had full battery, but had forgotten the details of the network until I had signed in. This is similar to another issue, wherein the system will occasionally stop opening and running user-installed applications and block any access to local storage (such as viewing and downloading files), citing lack of permission (which does not apply otherwise), until restarting and logging in again. My device is fully up-to-date on the stable update stream. Why am I having these issues? Are there any ways to fix this permanently (aside from purchasing a different device)?

Hi geminihc!

Thanks for posting in our community

As per checking, this model Yoga 720 does not have power delivery (a protocol specification which supports power delivery up to 100W of power while transmitting data in a single cable. It's designed to be a more universal charging standard that allows a range of devices (not just smartphones) to charge quickly over a USB connection) reason why the phone will not charge. Hi! I have 4 years old Lenovo Yoga Ideapad 13.  The problems started couple weeks ago, when the computer wouldn't run or start up without being plugged in. I followed some other people's advice and got a new battery. It seemed to fix to problem for while. Now few weeks after the same problem stands with the new battery. It won't start or run, but when plugged in it says the battery is 100% and charging.   I tried checking if the charger isn't working, but it charges all fine on my other Yoga, which has the same charger model. So please note that this isn't the common problem that is seen here on the forums, that the battery doesnt charge. I'm pretty frustrated, as this problem persists even though I changed the battery. Anyone have ideas? I figured it could have something to do with the battery wire connecting battery to the motherboard, but there doesn't seem to be any defects or loose wires.  However, I tried taking off the battery connection wire when plugged in, and then I get the message "No battery detected" instead of the regular "100% Fully charged". Any help is appreciated.

Hi,I am going to use my X2 10 (10-n155sa) to travel to Africa, and while there I will be unable to have access to electricity for several days at a time to be able to charge the laptop. I need a compatable battery Usb battery pack that will allow charging of the X2 10 while on the move. I understand Hp have locked out charging from normal third party usb c battery banks with drm? (the few off the shelf third party usb c battery banks I have tried do not work, including converting usb 2 to usb c), so I am asking them what solution they have available to the problem they have created? Do they have their own Hp branded usb battery powered solution available for purchase? It is imperative that this laptop is charged while a dedicated a/c source is not available as the laptop will be crucial to site functions within the field.  A laptop with a flat battery and no way to charge it is a useless paperweight. I am sure I am not the only one in a similarly presented situation, with no current way to charge from a usb power bank, even if just for generic traveling without access to ac for several days. Or does anyone know of a known third party combination that allows charging of a 10-n155sa via an external usb c battery bank. It does not matter if it takes several hours to charge and only charges when it is off, as long as there is a workable solution. Thank you for any responses to this problem...

A:charging via usb c using non HP charger

wingman1800 Hello;Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums! The problem is, if you use a non-HP charger and that damages the PC in any way, you have blown the warranty -- and the total cost of repairs will fall on you. You really want this to happen? If you remember the problems with the Samsung Note7 exploding, ALL the instances of that happening (at least in the beginning) were due to non-Samsung chargers. The problem with USB-C is that it can deliver a LOT of power to the device, which is SUPPOSED to be regulated so the device does not overheat, but chargers that don't adhere properly to the USB-C standard can easily overheat your device. So, you're risking destroying your device in order to save a little money.

A:Charger Light On, Not Charging?

Hi

first off dont use anything but an official charger, the cheap ones can and will damage your motherboard due to them being unregulated and supplying to much current.

If the charger has the light on but wont charge then the internal cable is broken and may be shorting out inside the sleeving.

check the cable by eye for severe kinks or bends in the cable.

Should you find one, cut the section just before and after the kink and then strip the cable back and join the wires and test it, if it works then you can either solder the wires and use heat shrink plastic to join them or buy a new one.
