Q: Do the Lenovo Flex 2 and Flex 3 14 inch use the sa...

I am currently using a Lenovo Flex 3 1470 and the keyboard for it stopped working and now I can't type any numbers or activate any function keys. I have spilled tea on my laptop and got it wet in the past so I am now looking to get my keyboard replaced. I have managed to find some Flex 2 14 inch US keyboards on eBay for less than $20 that look exactly the same as the one on my laptop, but I can't be certain unless someone confirms. Are the 2 keyboards the same?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Before I toss this mistake back in the box and bring it back to Staples, I figured why not play along. Most manufacturers are hiring abysmal, unqualified system engineers these days, so I may as well endure this nonsense with Lenovo since it's bound to happen in one form or another with the rest. I bought this for my daughter. You ship these things with 10 Home, loaded with all your Lenonsense, and right out of the box I wanted to wipe it out and install Win 7 Pro. So like any normal person with an IT background, I plugged in a flash drive with Windows 7 Pro on it, and hoped it would boot right to it. Of course it didn't, because "secure boot" was enabled. I then got into the bios and disabled that, with no success. Then I found your "reset" function in the bios which disables secure boot, and something else I forget what, that isn't an option in the bios to disable manually. So I did that, and it's still not recognizing the USB stick. Then I made another stick, following this nonsense. https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht078684The fact that someone at Lenovo thinks a 12 step COMMAND LINE process is reasonable to simply boot from a flash drive is amazing all by itself. I felt like Matthew Broderick in Wargames. Thanks for ride down Retro Lane courtesy of your system designer's incompetence. Of course that didn't work either, because you folks hire nothing but the best and brightest from countries that consider dogs lunch. How a company can tu... Hey guys, first post so please forgive me if I sound a little awkward. I have the i5 Flex 4 14 inch which is great (other than the loose bottom tray that lets the trackpad dip in a little) but the fan noise SUCKS. I HATE fan noise with a passion because this is a productivity laptop and I do not want to be distracted noise. The fans turn on at around 35-38 degrees celcius (90-100) which is rediculous. Yes, I know, it is only one copper heat pipe cooling the CPU but honestly, I am completely fine with it reaching around 70 celcius before the fans turn on because I'm mainly writing essays and things like that. PLEASE let me know if there is a fan controller avalible. I have already tried Thinkpad Fan Control and speedfan but I do not know the fan adresses so I cannot create my own program. Thanks! Just noting, I have updated my bios which did absolutely nothing in terms of fan noise.

Hi,I have spent a lot of time looking for a laptop which could meet my requirements. A week ago I bought this laptop and I love it, BUT the screen is giving me painful eyes just after like 30 minutes. I tried during the day, in the evening, to simulate different lightning conditions, tried to update BIOS and all drivers, playing with brighness, color setup, ... the same result. My girlfriend initially said that it can be it's only my perception, but then she tried to use it and got eye pain after like 30 minutes. I'm a programmer and she is a graphic designer, so we are used to spend like 10 hours a day in average behind a laptop, but we never get such a pain, as from this one, after like 30 mins. I tried to check if the laptop has PWM flickering. I tried to record the screen with my phone, and compare it to my older work laptop (Lenovo T520), which I never get an eye pain or headache from. The recording revealed a lot of backlight flickering on my old work laptop (like when you display a page with Google results, there were a lot of horizontal lines moving vertically over white google background), but not really on my new one. When I look very detailed at the video from the new laptop, I can maybe see like a tiny flickering on the font displaying google results, but nothing in the background white). So why would this new laptop give us immediately such a headache? Resolution, size of the fonts are eqactly the same as the old laptop sitting next to it.... Anyone can... Read more

Hi everyone. I can see that people with other similar style Lenovo laptops (Yoga 900) complain about the same issue so was wondering if there is a solution or an optimized version of this software. I did an update of the BIOS and the Power Management driver and still a constant power usage.  Once the laptop is flipped the YMC detects it and turns off the keyboard functionality to prevent accidental presses and that is pretty much all until it flipped back and enabled. And all of this requires a constant high CPU usage? Any help would be highly appreciated. I also tried rolling back to older drivers without luck in decreasing this CPU hog usage. To put such load on a i5 6th gen CPU really implies an inferior service integration....

Problem: Press power button, turns on and no display. Press power button to turn off then press to turn on, doesn't turn on but power button light is flashing. Plug in the charger and turn the Flex 10 off and on again, still not on. Tapping the keyboard, touchpad hoping something happens, no. Give it a couple more seconds then it turns on. Lenovo loading sign comes up then goes to blue screen saying "collecting data because there was an error then will restart for you", restarts. "There was an error with loading Windows. Given two options; option 1: Choose a recovery setting or option 2: restart". Both options have been clicked before and nothing has happened. This time tried choosing option 1 again and the screen starts flickering and Flex 10 turns off. Flex 10 has been opened from the back to check if memory, HDD and all else is correctly in place.  Any solutions? Could the battery be the problem? Is it worth replacing it altogether? Thanks,Scott

I have a lenovo Flex 2 laptop that has been fantastic so far. However, the other day when I shut it down and restarted it, the computer seems to be stuck in a cycle and was unable to boot. I would push the power butto,n the keyboard lights would turn on for a brief moment, the fan would spin and then it would stop. It would try to boot for about 5 seconds and recycle over and over and over. Eventually, the computer would boot. I bought a new battery thinking that was the issue. I replaced the battery, and the problem persists. Well, last night the computer got stuck in the boot cycle but will not turn on anymore. The battery seems to be able to hold a charge when it was on. However, I noticed that if I unplug the battery and plug in the AC adapter, the indicator light that shows that the AC adapter is plugged in will not turn on without the battery connected. This may not have a bad AC adapter? Is my mother board the major issue? What is the next step for me in this stage? Thanks for all the help and advance!

I am looking to get a decent stylus so I can take better notes using my Flex 4, but I have found that none of the active stylus on Amazon say that they work specifically for the Flex 4. I contacted support through web chat earlier and they informed me that if it says Lenovo Yoga 900, it should work. If it's marked for the Yoga 900s, would it still work? Does anyone happen to have a suggestion for a stylus that will be primarily used for taking notes and writing in general?

My wife's Flex 14 stopped charging. I am thinking that battery is old and need replacement (I hope), but when I look on the Lenovo site, I do not see the battery. I tried contacting Lenovo, who argued with me that the battery is sealed (wrong), but finally send me to Emcompass parts. They looked up the serial number and was able to correctly identify the computer, but could not find the part number for the battery. They then transfer me to Geek Squad for some reason. I did see a few battery on sale at Amazon, but they appear to be greatly smaller in capacity (2200 instead of 3560 ma). Anyone know how I can order the higher capacity battery or at least locate the actual part number ? Is this normal, I never had issue getting batteries for my Dells. Paul

Does anyone have a Lenovo - Flex 4 1470? (Win10/64bit) I bought mine in July 2016 and yesterday when I signed on I got a pop-up from Lenovo telling me about a "critical" Lenovo update. I am pretty sure if was referring to BIOS update = v.0vcn.22ww / 120 MB.
I clicked for it to install and then another pop-up saying something about it (possibly) changing binaries, etc. I didn't know what that was all about and so I cancelled the downlod.
Today I phoned Lenovo and spoke to a woman who said "they" didn't recommend downloading/installing updates to BIOS unless I was having problem with this laptop.
As I asked, does anyone else have a Lenovo Flex 4.1470? If so, did you get this critical update notice and if you did, did you install it?
I am 81 years old and know nothing about these things and wonder if I should just forget about downloading the BIOS update? Or whether it MUST be downloaded for this Lenovo to operate properly.
Thanks for any help.

The display on my Lenovo flex 4 isn't working. It boots up fine. When I add a second screen though HDMI, the display appears on the second screen but not the flex screen. I've checked the screen share settings and it's on the duplicate screen setting. Also the brightness is turned up. The really strange thing (to me) is that the touch screen even works perfectly fine. When I touch it I see the response on the second screen.I've tried restarting, holding down the power button for 20 secs, and updating some drivers.I can make do with the second screen for now but any help would be greatly appreciated!! Don't have money for a repair at the time.

Hi everyone!I am looking for ram to upgrade my lenovo flex 2 15 which has only 4 gb of ram and it's so so slow. I have found on the forums information about ram upgrade that it can be done. I have free slot avaialable. I have found in the manuals that it can handle only 1600 mhz speed. I am not sure which brand I am supposed to buy.. I have found Crucial RAM 8GB DDR3 1600 MT/s CL11 SODIMM 204pin and judging on informations from my system info software it is compatible with my system.  What do you think?

A:Which RAM brand for Lenovo Flex 2 15?

Hi LeiceQ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

The hardware manual for your system does have ram listing of OEM certified ram.
In cases when you need to get third party ram for upgrade, just make sure that it shares the same specification (DDR3L low voltage(1333MHz/1600MHz) SODIMM 2) and review return options.

This discussion would further answer your query on your planned upgrade.

Hello. Thank you for taking the time to read this.I got a Lenovo Flex 2 15 a while ago. Over these three months I've tried to find information wether this laptop supports a stylus to draw with to begin with, and which models would those be.After searching in forums, sent pms to Lenovo support via Facebook and being utterly ignored, contacting support of styluses makers (Adonit for example) I always get the same copy pasted get X stylus for Ipad and X for *other lenovo models, like Yoga700, etc* which do not seem to list my model among them. Perhaps it is because of the year or because Lenovo Flex 2 is not being made anymore, which I noticed after getting it, sadly. So I ask once again... perhaps this time someone will know! Does the Lenovo Flex 2 15 support Wacom or any other brand styluses to draw on the screen with? If so, which is the model I should go for? Thank you again for any answer that you could provide.

My Lenovo Flex won't respond at all when I try to wake it up from sleep mode. I've tried to unplug it and hold the power button down for 30 seconds, but the light just keeps flashing. It's been unplugged all day, so to help battery should be really low, but it's not turning off. Any ideas or suggestions on what to do? I go back to classes soon and I need it for my classes, so I really need it up and running asap.

A:Lenovo Flex Won't Wake Up

This seems to be a widespread issue with Lenovo laptops for a very long time, but there appears to be very little effort being taken by Lenovo support to provide its customers with the solution, or a document with the steps to resolve the issue. Holding the power button down for 30 seconds should (on nearly all laptops and desktop computers) forces a hard power off, but apparently that does not work on Lenovo Laptops when they gets stuck in this state. From what I can gather from various forums on the Internet, the only way to get the system booting again, sort of waiting until the battery dies, is to remove the rear cover, and unplug the battery, wait a minute or so, and and then pug it back in.   Some users also report that updating the video driver, and perhaps the BIOS, will resolve the issue, but Lenovo Support has chosen to remain silent (publicly anyway) on which one, if any, is an actual fix on any of the many forum posts regarding the error, which leads me to believe that they haven't a clue. You do not mention what exact model of Flex you have, so I cannot point you too any of the instructions online on how to remove your cover and unplug the battery, so you might post the model number (not the serial number) in the forum,  or open a ticket with Lenovo Support, although I sounds like their phone support has not been too much help for others.  Good Luck,
