I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Everyday it gets a little harder to get the my Yoga 3 to charge. The adapter plugs in fine but I don't get the plug symbol next to the batter icon without a lot of blowing and holding it just right. Once it's in and begins to charge there are no problems. I don't have to hold the cable a certain way or anything. I don't want to wait until I can't charge my notebook to take care of this. Is there any precedence for this problem? Do I need to get a new cable or is the problem the adapter in the notebook?

My Yoga 3 was bought 3 months ago at a local retailer. It had been an open box model. A couple of nights ago while using it, my wife got a Blue Screen of some variety. Since then, the machine doesn't work at all. When I push the power button (or the reset button next to it), the KB backlight comes on and power light comes on for about a second and then they both shut off. This cycle is repeated indefinitely until I hold down the power button at which time everything goes off. That is the only response I get from the thing. This machine is only 3 months old but I cannot find any way to get in touch with Lenovo for any kind of support, so I thought I would try here first. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I want to get a power bank that can charge my Yoga 920 via USB-C.  What are the requirements for a power bank to do this?  Power Delivery?  A certain voltage?  something else?  I don't want to order one only to find it won't charge the laptop.  For example, I'm considering the iWALK Secretary II 10000 mah Power Bank.  Thanks!

Hi everyone,  I am trying to find out if the yoga 3 pro has the ability to be charged using a power bank and the original lenovo power cord ( usb adapter). A:Yoga 3 Pro / UNIFUN power bank

Good day and welcome to the community.

The Yoga 3 Pro looks for 20V input, 4x what that power bank can output. Also, the proprietary cable has extra contacts.

There may be power banks that can supply the proper voltage, but I think it unlikely that one has the proprietary receptacle configuration to match the cable.

Just got a Yoga 700-11ISK. It's great. Love it. Want to know how I can charge it from a power bank. The battery life is good-not-great. I know it needs 20v. If I snagged a 24v power bank and used the USB C cable,  would I get a charge? Anyone have alternate suggestions? I'll solder together something totally unsafe if need be.

A:Yoga 700 - How do I charge it from a power bank?

I am getting some info from the Lenovo team on the USB Type C port if it supports audio, video or whatever application however seems to be that the Type C is just another USB port for portable devices such as external HDD.There have been discussions about charging the laptop via Type C however I don't think you can as its only suppose to charge via the AC port. Don't fry the mobo mate.

Greetings from Portugal. I'd just like to say that i've found a powerbank that can be used with the 900s (and probably others that use the same charger). The one i found, and can confirm charges the laptop, is "RAVPower 27000mAH Powerstation" that i found on amazon. It's a powerbank with a regular power plug to connect the charger, so it could be called a mini ups instead of a powerbank. Hope this helps people looking for something similar.

The port on my Yoga has been acting up for a few weeks.  It was acting like the charging port was loose.  However, as of last night, it does not see that the charging cord is plugged in at all.  However, it is actually charging a tiny bit, very slowly.  I already attempted to discharge any static and this didn't make any difference.  The regular USB ports seem to be having some trouble recognizing that something is plugged in as well.   Definitely not too happy with the charging system on this computer.  I have already had to replace the USB cord which just stopped working about a year ago. Any suggestions?

Hello,  I'm in a bit of a pickle, in an attempt to reinstall Windows 8.1 after numerous Windows 10 installation fails, I was successful in that aspect.. However, when I tried to reinstall drivers, especially this one Intel Serial I/O Driver for Windows 8.1 64-bit - Lenovo YOGA 3 Pro-1370 It froze and I had to force restart the computer. To my terrible luck, the computer doesn't boot anymore. I tried looking at it through Ubuntu live cd and it reads the disk and shows the partitions but I cannot write to them or even clear them.  I inferred that the hard drive was the problem, so I've ordered one but then I'm thinking about it again and maybe it had something to do with that driver flashing something to bios. I don't know where to go from here, none of the recoveries work or anything. Please advise

A:Yoga 3 Pro 1370 crash

If you can get into the BIOS, disable Fast Boot and Secure Boot. These would be the only settings in the BIOS withholding boot from a healthy partition.

Hello everyone, My Y3P 1370 works like for a week plugged to charger and it charges but suddenly and out of nowhere, it stops charging the battery while windows still reports the charger is connected and charging. However it just doesn't. After a while the laptop dies on me and doesn't boot at all. The charger indicator is flashing red and the power button has the white led on state at the moment. I found a solution to my issue by removing the backplate and disconnecting the battery flex from the motherboard. Turning on pc without the battery. It boots fine. Turn it off and reconnect battery flex to motherboard, laptop starts charging and running properly. I have been having this issue for a very long time and i really need a permanent solution for it. Thank you so much for your time and help.

I am using a Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro 1370 running Windows 10. The touchscreen never fails to work but the touchpad however causes a lot of problems. It will randomly stop working when I am using it, often when opening my laptop or when right clicking, but often without any apparent cause as well. One temporary method I have found that somtimes fixes the issue is to go into the HIDs in Device Manager and disable/re-enable the 9CE1 I2C HID Device. Sometimes this option will have a yellow triangle indicating that the device will not start and display this message in the driver properties: This device cannot start. (Code 10)A request for the HID descriptor failed. Other times however there is no acknowledgement of driver issues and attempting to enable the devie will cause the device manager to not respond, restarting my PC in recovery mode after a "DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE" message and wiping my recent files. I have tried everything from uninstalling/reinstalling the driver, updating the BIOS and disabling the driver to boot in safe mode. When updating the driver software through the device manager, it says the latest version is installed: The driver version is 10.0.10586.0, it says it is from 2006-06-21. Has anyone else had this issue before with their Yoga? Anyone know a solution? Any help would be appreciated, Thanks.

Is it still under warranty?  It sounds likethere may be dirt or lint in the fan, or the bearing may be wearing out.  To check, you need to remove the bottom cover. (10 T5 torx screws)

Sorry to hear about your issues!

I haven't encountered the USB disabling issue, however, hopefully I can assist with the power issues.

An indicator as to whether the charger is functioning or not is to look for the power button to be illuminated when powered off. The cable provides two busses: one that powers the laptop (20 volts), and the standard USB power (5 volts).

For lack of a better description, does your wall power adapter have some "play" on it when plugged in? Does the laptop charge until you slightly move the power adapter?

The User Profile issue sounds like an issue with the Windows 10 upgrade. I used to have these issues when upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 8. The best bet would be to run a refresh. Unfortunately, it will erase your apps, but should retain your user data:

http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/4090-refresh-windows-10-a.html

After this, try and install newer USB drivers designed for Windows 10:

Hi All, So I've had this aesthetically pleasing yoga 3 pro for about a month with the purpose for it to be used as a Uni Laptop.  However I've come across a few issues that I am hoping I can get some help with. Firstly, I've lost all ability to use the touchscreen. Windows Device Managers is seeing it, but I have no way to enable/disable or test. Is there something I am missing? Secodly, through basic use I am finding the CPU and RAM usage well in excess of 80% for a lot of the time, with the system coming to a near grinding halt if I have approximately a dozen chrome tabs open, a couple of office docs and youtube or spotify running....this is a little worrying. Specification wise the laptop should be able to run the with very little hassle. Been having lots of trouble with my Yoga Pro 3, the latest being the battery.  When the power got low the battery icon would turn red and the screen dim to save power, as it always has done.  But then when I connected the power lead, the power indicated would suddenly say 0%.  I recalibrated the battery, but that fix was short-lived.  The 0% was continuous, and I could not change it.  Looking at various on-line threads, I tried uninstalling Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery driver, having being assured it would reinstall when i next fired up the laptop.  Still no fix.  So, I just bought a new battery and put it in, fired up the laptop expecting at least a tiny bit of charge.  Nothing.  With the power lead in the laptop fires up ok, but now shows an icon in the taskbar - next to the main lead symbol, a battery symbol crossed-through, with the pop-up caption 'The battery is not used'.  If I open OneKey optimiser, it says no battery is present. Any ideas what I can try next?

My laptop suddenly stopped charging. I've checked the adapter, it still provides the USB power to charge my mobile phone. I can also charge my phone from the residual charge in the battery. So the remaining possibilities are that the charger isn't producing 20V power, the wire has gone bad or there's a problem within the laptop.  The replacement charger costs a pretty penny and will take time. Is there any way of checking if the wire or the charger block are working or not ? The alternative of taking it to Lenovo sucks, can't work for a while. ThanksRahul

A:Lenovo Yoga Pro 3 1370 not charging

First, is it still under warranty? Many are.   If it is, call support.   Do you know anyone with another machine where you can borrow an adapter?  The Yoga 700 and Yoga 900 use the same sort of plug except they have a max power draw of 65W.  The 700 and 900 don't work right on the Y. 3 pro's 40-w adapter, but your machine is OK with the larger one.  I looked at the adapter and the power cord and  it would be difficult to test the output with a meter, without shorting something out.  I have all sorts of tools and meters, and I takeapart and fix machines, so if it were mine, I would open the machine and pick up the input leads from inside and test with a meter.  If you are not comfortable doing that kind of thing, don't risk making it worse.  DON'T OPEN UP AND WORK ON A MACHINE THAT IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY.

Hi folks, I've had my Yoga for several years and it's probably the best laptop I've owned out of many. I live in a dusty environment and several previous laptops expired prematurely due to the accumulation of dust inside the case. I of course don't have that problem anymore with the Yoga. But even though I clean the keyboard regularly I expected a problem some day. That day occured two weeks ago when the Left Shift key started acting up. The action is fine but unless I press the left shift key sharply it will not be recognized. Am I correct that the keyboard is a sealed unit and not servicable? No liquids were spilled so it has to be the debris. I am hesitant to use a powerful vacuum cleaner due to a static discharge and using compressed air could just drive the contamination deeper.... Any other ideas? TIA,JRH

A:Yoga 3 Pro 1370 single key malfunction

The keyboard can be replaced, but not serviced.  I believe Lenovo only sells the entire top as a unit, but you can find just the keyboard itself on eBay.  It needs a lot of disassembly to get to it and the keyboard is held in by lots of screws, but I have done it and it is certainly possible.  Here is an example:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/US-New-Keyboard-For-IBM-Lenovo-Ideapad-Yoga-3-Pro-13-3-Yoga-3-Pro-1370-Back...

I am not familiar with this particular seller and this is not a specific recommendation.

I purchased my Yoga 3 1370 from Best Buy in January of 2014. Glitch-y from the start, slow OS (and then I upgraded to Windows 10, even better...), calls back and forth with Lenovo Support and brought to Best Buy numerous times. Then this past September the Yoga stopped turning on completely. Brought into Best Buy again, tested the power cord, USB plug, etc. and determined the motherboard was fried. Called Lenovo as was told because the warranty of ONE YEAR was up, there was nothing they could do and I would have to purchase a new motherboard. End of story. Extremely frustrated. After spending over $1,100 for a supposedly top of the line product and multiple hours getting it fixed over 2 years, I have what is essentially a doorstop. I will never recommend Lenovo to anyone, both for product quality and customer care.

Hi there, A few weeks back I noticed that neither of my USB ports nor my SD card port were working on my laptop. Tried multiple USB sticks/SD cards and none work, so I know its an issue with the ports themselves. I have tried updating drivers and everything is up to date, and the system says they are working correctly. Ocassionally a message will pop up on screen saying "A USB device has exceeded the power limits of its hub port", but I don't have anything in the ports. This makes me think this is potentially a HW issue, not a SW one, but before I make that call it would be great to get some advice as to what I can do! Thanks!

I ugraded to win 10 pro 64-bit a year ago, and now cannot install iCloud (any version) for windows. Apple does not have a solution. Install progresses to the "end" when a windows installer error occurs, and installation rolls back. Any solutions available? Thanks
