"...Please try again later." This problem has persisted two weeks. I've shut down, restarted, etc. and its still not working. What gives?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

Just so everyone knows . . . don't rely on the System Update function of Lenovo Companion to update your machine. I used it today and it told me all was good. However, when I checked the Drivers and Software section of the Support Site, it showed a new version of Lenovo Software Foundation and App Explorer to download. In a word, the System Update function is "no bueno".

- After bios update a driver was missing and had to be installed
- Companion regularly says there is an optional update but does not show the update.

In the past, I have been able to receive the latest updates via Lenovo Companion > System Update (while occasionally accessing the actual System Update program). But lately when I access both System Update - the actual program - as well as the System Update option via Lenovo Companion, I am greeted with the following error message after loading at around 15% (or after not loading at all): "The System Update Server is currently unavailable. Please try again later." Is there a solution for this issue? I would appreciate assistance on this problem. I am currently a Windows 10 Home (Build Version 1703) user with a Lenovo Companion at Version 3.73.1.0. The last time I have checked my ThinkPad T450s for updates was yesterday at 10:40am HKT (Hong Kong Time) and the last time I made any updates to my computer was on May 31st at 10:37am HKT.

I dont usually make updates, but when i do...I opened the Lenovo Companion and went for the drivers updates. There was 3 updates: WLAN (I think), Bluetooth, and a BIOS (4WCN29WW) update. I installed the lenovo programs needed to download the updates, as the Lenovo Companion recommended, and started updating the drives. At the BIOS update i was prompted that this update was for the Lenovo 300/500 series and proceeded. After the update, my notebook is not starting. It stops after the bios, windows gives this stopcode: "INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE", restarts and tries to repair the initialization, wich doenst work. I searched here on the forums and found some tips: Enter the BIOS and switch to legacy support.It now enters the windows repair utility, but doesnt start. Windows restore point.Restore succesfull, but didnt work.Windows Initialization repair.Could not repair the initialization.CHKDSKNo problems found.  Notebook info:320-15IKB (Type 80XL, 80YE) Laptop (ideapad)Model 80YH0001BRWindows 10 (64bits) Please help me fix this... I have to finish a monagraph by monday

Hello,I am using Lenovo Companion on my W530 running Windows 10. Recently I installed the Windows 10 version 1703 (Creators Update), and checked for Lenovo updates with the Lenovo Companion.  The software found 1 recommended update, Intel PRO/1000 LAN Adapter Software - 8.1/10[64] - V.12.9.15.0/12.9.16.0. I recently used this tool for the first time and used it to install all my latest Windows updates. Since then, the machine has never been able to connect to any WiFi network at all and the only option I have to connect to the internet is to physically connect the machine to my phone and use the its hotspot. Clicking on the list of available networks successfully displays all the networks in range, including my home networks - if I select my network and enter the password for it nothing happens - I am left with the greyed out wifi icon on the task bar with an asterisk in the top left hand corner of the icon. I have been through all the steps on the troubleshooter including going through all the NETSH commands on the command line and disabling all the network adapters but still nothing works. Note that I can successfully connect to the wifi networks from all the other devices in my house including my MacBook Air and my iPhone. This is a Yoga 910 512GB (16GB RAM) machine - has anybody else had this issue after proceeding with any updates recently?

Since you have to hunt around different Lenovo sites (and other sites) to find out about these softwares, I decided to make a post to get feedback from actual Yoga owners on how these programs interact, what they do, which ones are prerequisite, and which ones are unnecessary. Please don't take this as a blanket answer. This is just what I have found. It might be right - it might be wrong. I'm looking for others to post their experiences as well. Lenovo System Interface Foundation Driver - Necessary prerequisite (missing driver in device manager without it). It allows the Lenovo Utility and Lenovo Companion to work. Lenovo Yoga Mode Control - Necessary if you want to use your yoga to seemlessly change between all the different modes (laptop, tablet, tent, stand). This software is responsible for autorotating and putting Windows into tablet mode. Lenovo Utility - Recommended(?) This one I'm not too sure on. I remember that I was missing some function that I wanted but I can't remember what it was now. Maybe battery cycle count and health? Lenovo Companion - I don't have this one installed and don't think it's necessary but would like someone else to shed some light here.

I have regualrly run a System Update for my computer via Lenovo Companion and I've managed to have all updates successfully completed - all except for one. Lately, I have runs of Updates where I encounter an update for Synaptic UltraNav Driver, run it, but comes up as being unable to download and install - in spite of a successful initial download. Since its encounter a couple of weeks ago, I have been unsuccessful in fully downloading and installing this specific Driver for my computer. Is there any indication of issues for this Drive? And what should I do to resolve it? Also, if the Driver can't be properly updated, what is its purpose for my system? Any form of help concerning this Driver update issue would be appreciated.

I used Lenovo Settings on my Lenovo Yoga 3 11 for the battery conservations mode. So I was forced to install Lenovo Companion since it recently replaced Lenovo Settings.Ever since I did this, I have noticed the following:* Screen brightness keeps changing by itself slightly* Screen contrast keeps changing by itself slightly* Colours look muted and unsaturated, and filtered. Makes the sceen look worse than it should.* trackpad is only ignorred if the tablet mode is fully flat. The slightest opening causes the trackpad and keyboard to become sensitive. All of this irrespective of whether Dynamic Brighness Control is enabled or disabled in Lenvovo Companion hardware settings, and regarless of whether recommended hardware settings are used.Anyone else noticed anything similar? I'll report back after I've uninistalled the app to see whether any of these behaviours disappear.

A:Noticed issues ever since I installed Lenovo Companion (which replaced Lenovo Settings)

So I deactivated "Change brightness autoatically when lighting changes" in Windows Display Settings. This seems to have been the cause of the brightness and contrast changes, but the colours still look blander than I recall. Sorry to suspect Lenovov Companion so quickly, but the changes coincided with it's installation. Admittedly Windows 10 Fall edition just landed too.

Hi, a couple of weeks ago, I tried to open Lenovo Settings and it instruct me to uninstall it, as all functions are now integrated to Lenovo Companion. I did, but noticed that the Lenovo Battery Gauge still points me to Lenovo Settings (left click on the battery gauge). I uninstalled Companion, and Settings, rebooted, and installed companion again, but looks the Gauge does not uninstall. How can I remove the gauge and make it point to companion? Thanks!

Recently, whenever I launch "lenovo Companion" and choose "system update", the "critical auto-updates" (under schedule lenovo updates) runs forever and never come to an end! This has never happened before and it seems to have something to do with your recent sysyem down or configuration change.

Use the windows store for latest Companion version.Use SIF download from  Companion offering, not SIF10ww512.exe on the support page.Best solution: Discard Companion and install the latest System update.systemupdate5-07-0027.exe. Hello, I need help on my Lenovo Companion app with it's dust removal option.
 
I just bought my Lenovo ideapad 700 for a week now.
 
Previously I had the dust removal option in the Lenovo Quick Optimizer widget on taskbar.
 
After I turned it on, the option never existed anymore in the quick widget and even in Lenovo Companion app itself.
 
Would really love to see this feature again in my new laptop.

Lenovo Companion has not detected any new updates since Apr 2. The last update installed by Lenovo Companion was the driver for "Intel(R) Rapid Storage Technology Driver for Windows 10 (64-bit), 8.1 (64-bit), 7 (32-bit,64-bit) - ThinkPad" 14.8.4.1046. Looking at the drivers web page there are a few updated drivers since Apr 2 but Lenovo Companion is just not showing any when I check for new updates. I understand that not all drivers on the website are for my particular model but these look applicable for my setup. They are not showing up in Lenovo Companion though and my current drivers are older than these. Intel Snowfield Peak 8260 Bluetooth Driver 18.1.1546.2762 on Apr 4BIOS Update 1.40 on Apr 11Hotkey Features Integration 8.80.10 on Apr 15 Any ideas?

A:TPY 260 - Lenovo Companion not getting updates

There is always a delay between when drivers are posted on the website, and when they show up in Lenovo Companion (or System Update).  I won't bore you with the details, but it is a internal process reason that requires additional work and testing.  Anyway, it usually takes 2-3 weeks until new drivers show up in Companion (or System Update).  Sorry for this inconvenience.

I have a T440s which I bought in July 2014. It is out of warranty. Lenovo companion reports my "primary" battery is "BAD" but says absolutey nothing else even though it reports a full charge. In fact the lenovo battery icon in the corner of my display shows battery is green and 100%. I'd like to understand whether this battery is bad in the sense that it should be removed from the computer immediately, or whether it has detected that it is no longer holding a full charge and could be left there. I am almost always at the desktop in a docking station so I don't need the full charge. I don't understand why all they report is "Bad". Any suggestions as to how I might find more or if it is just reporting lower capacity and nothing more? Also, it was kind of confusing which battery they meant when they said "primary" is bad. I could see an argument that either is the primary battery. Better to have used the terms integrated and removable. I removed the removable battery and reran the test to determine the primary battery is actually the integrated battery. I think the service person said the opposite. The lenovo companion page that reports the battery is BAD has a link for more information and it goes to a general lenovo webpage that has nothing to do with support. They are trying to get me to apply for a lenovo credit card I think. Its so disgraceful how they dropped the ball on this one. Alex

Hello,  When I try to run the "Optimize Your ThinkPad" It hangs up on the PC Cleanup and doesn't progress to System Accelerate, or Critical Update.  Is this something I should be concerned about, as my machine seems to be running fine?  Also in Companion, when I try to run the Hardware Scan, it says it cannot run the scan at this time.  Both operated as expected a couple weeks ago.....Thanks for any guidance.John

Just wondering if anyone has solutions to the following solutions for my problems with my X1 Yoga - i5-6200u & regular 1440p screen...My battery life runs ~3:00 when screen brightness is 60%. The fan will go on quite loud if I have ~8 Chrome windows open on regular websites... I've run a When I open Lenovo Companion to try to run Diagnostics, I get a Windows popup that says "This app is not currently available to you."
