Preferred Solution: WINDOWS 7; dlink wireless driver shows no network.

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

A: WINDOWS 7; dlink wireless driver shows no network.

I would try completely removing the adapter from the system(not physically but from the control panel) then reboot; try reinstalling it; then reboot again; and try checking for a updated driver for that adapter and see if that helps to resolve the issue.. Try this and see what happens. Post back if no result.

Hello everybody,

I have recently purchased a D-Link Wireless G DWA-510 Desktop Adapter. OS is obviously Windows 7.

The problem that I am facing is that I have installed the driver that came along with it which supports Windows 9x,Windows XP and Windows Vista. Nothing has been mentioned about Windows 7. Also when I try to open its Wireless Connection Manager(DLink), nothing happens at all(no dialog box opens )

Please can anybody tell me what should I do. Would I have to install its driver for Windows 7 or the same provided along with the adapter would do?

Hi and welcome

All you need to do is go here D-Link DWA-510 Wireless G Desktop Adapter. If you cant find a win 7 driver you can use a vista driver, or xp driver. You just need to instal them in 'compatibility mode' to do that right click the installer>properties>compatibility> check OS.

Hi,

We just set up our Dlink router and all computers and iPhones can connect to the wireless fine, but one of the computers is showing "local only". What gives?

Don't know...
Please supply the following info, exact make and models of the equipment please.

Name of your ISP (Internet Service Provider).
Make and exact model of the broadband modem.
Make and exact model and hardware version of the router (if a separate unit).
Model numbers can usually be obtained from the label on the device.
Connection type, wired or wireless.
If wireless, encryption used, (none, WEP, WPA, or WPA2)
Version and patch level of Windows on all affected machines, i.e. XP-Home (or XP-Pro), SP1-SP2, Vista, etc.
The Internet Browser in use, IE, Firefox, Opera, etc.

Please give an exact description of your problem symptoms, including the exact text of any error messages.

If you're using a wireless connection, have you tried a direct connection with a cable to see if that changes the symptoms?
For wireless issues, have you disabled all encryption on the router to see if you can connect that way?
Have you connected directly to the broadband modem to see if this is a router or modem/ISP issue?
If there are other computers on the same network, are they experiencing the same issue, or do they function normally?

Hi Paul,
I am on a private wireless network, name showing in notification area.
Problem 1:
A week or two ago, an unidentified wireless network suddenly appeared in the notification area. Name of the network is Vortex.  No response when I click or right click on it, to 'forget this network'. Drop down menu connect automatically is ticked-
when I remove tick-- it returns.  When I click connect, window opens prompting for a password.  Often when I want to check if its still there it is there momentarily and then disappears altogether. I have no path for this 'rogue' network, so cannot
search for its location on my PC, so there's no way I know how to remove it.  I have a very stringent antivirus, malware application and also use Malwarebytes to remove infections and spyware. However, I searched online for this Vortex network and it
seems that it is malware-- however, after full scans of my PC, with both my internet security app and Malwarebytes, this Vortex network still appears in the network notification window below my private network server.  How do I remove it?  And what
settings should I temporarily activate in the Network and Sharing Center in order to view all networks on my PC in Command prompt?   This network can surely not be a neighbour's network-- as my connection settings are very private.  I cannot block
it with Firewall, because no path is available to do so. I have a feeling this Vortex may have been bundled wi... Read more

Hello,

I've been having intermittent disconnection issues with my wireless card, DWA-552. After having thoroughly researched on the subject, the conclusion drawn by many people is that dlink's drivers are inappropriate for the card. It was suggested to install the Atheros driver instead, which i proceeded to do. Much to my confusion, when i downloaded the AR5008 10.0.0.75 driver, i found no .exe file to easily setup the driver.

http://www.atheros.cz/atheros-wireless-download.php?chipset=26&system=6

I proceeded to do the following:

1) Uninstall my crappy DLink driver through control panel
2) Went on Device Manager and scanned for hardware changes
3) Network Controller appears
4) I right click on network controller and try to manually update the driver
5) This window appears: http://imgur.com/GkTza

I'm stuck there. Help! I've tried following some guides about the issue but nothing works so far and it's a pretty daunting task since i need to reinstall my dlink driver everytime i want to reconnect to the internet for more information.

Thank you

Dear Sir or Madam
I have tried connecting on this Windows XP SP3 PC and on a Windows 7 Ult 64 Bit System which are both on the network.
The Sysinfo for the XP system is pasted below. I have also written to LG about this problem and all they seem to want to do is service the TV (less then a week old) telling me that this is not normal. I used to use a program called Network Magic which would allow me to easily turn off the router security, add a new device and then close the security (WPA). It has long been discontinued. I set this network up years ago but I am still clueless about the settings and terminolgy. All I remember from setting the netwok up, is that it was pure hell!
There are three computers on the network Windows XP PC, Windows Vista Laptop, Windows 7 Ult 64 Bit,a Canon MX680 Wireless printer connected to a UBee Cable modem, using Time Warner Cable Broadband. All these other devices work fine with the router and modem.

This TV is 60 inches, huge and heavy, was hell to transport and setup so I really don't want to go through any servicing except as a very last resort.

Thank You
Let me know what information you need and I will try to get it. I did not see a way to attach two picture files that I sent to DLink.

Dlink 825
Optimum (Cablevision) cable internet

Wireless enabled, all default settings, WMA password set. I have not made any changes to the dlink.

Recently, my dlink 825 began giving a limited internet access error on my wife's & sister's computers (windows 7 on both). It also would show no wireless connectivity and once in a while a DNS error. These computers used to work via wireless all the time, no issues.

Resetting the dlink router sometimes resolves the issue for about a minute, then wireless will disconnect and give the same issue.

Resetting the cable router does nothing.
Rebooting the computer does nothing.

The same computer will have internet access on a hard cable to the router.

All phones, tablets, Xbox, Wii, bluray, printer still work via wireless. Mac laptop works via wireless.

Any ideas?

I recently had DSL hooked up at my house. I am using a D-link DI-514 wireless router, which works fine for my old 300 Mhz Pentium 2 running Windows 98 as well as for my Dell laptop running Windows XP with wi-fi built in. Here's the trouble, when I tried to install a D-link DWL-650+ wireless networking card in a Compaq laptop running Windows ME, I inserted the card and when asked for drivers i put the CD and evrything went fine until during the driver instalation the laptop restarted and gave me the message "warning : Windows has detected a registry/configuration error. Use SCANREG to correct this error"
but even if i start the computer in safe mode the only thing I see is the backround (distorted) and my mouse, i cant get SCANREG to work, i have alredy tried putting it on a floppy.
when i open in normal mode, a "searching for new hardware" window appears and tries to install the drivers, even after i put the drivers on a disk it still wont install them, and I still only have the desktop and mouse visible.
Thanks for the help

I have two older HP Pavillion PCs that I upgraded to Windows 8 without much of an issue.  The only drivers I have not been able to locate are for the Wireless NICs.  I've looked high and low with no real success, and wanted to see if anyone out there might know if these exist: Product: HP 802.11b/g Wireless Network AdapterNIC Model: WN5301A-H1-V02 Desktop:  HP Pavillion d4000 PC  (D4990Y)  The on-board LAN jack works just fine, but one of these systems goes into a remote location and I don't have an interest in running a 25-foot cable across my room. Anyone have any ideas on where I might find the Windows 8 driver for this device? (Admittedly, all the HP support docs for this product stop at Win 7, but every other piece of gear in these PCs works just fine other than the missing wireless NIC driver, so I'm trying my luck for a driver versus dropping in new wireless NIC devices.)

Hi: Did you try manually installing the Vista driver? I see there is only a 32 bit driver available, so if you installed W8 32 bit, see if that works. Download and run the file below. Close out of any error windows you get. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=pv-51750-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&... Go to the network controller needing drivers in the device manager, click on the driver tab. Click on Update driver.  Select the Browse My computer for Driver software method and browse to the driver folder that was created when you ran the file. That file should be in C:\SWSetup\sp35019. Make sure the Include subfolders box is checked and see if the driver installs that way.

Hi all,
Just installed a Dlink DWL-520 Super G-Extreme card into a desktop computer for my kid (to get him away from my desk so that I can actually work). The card works great and connects to the net no prob, but after 15 minutes or so of normal use, the system freezes and computer has to be cold killed (which is bad bad bad). The system also has a generic NIC card installed, but is accessing the net only with the wireless.

Cannot see any hardware conflicts - any ideas from anyone out there? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks all!

I just bought a compac laptop and a netgear router. I was trying to set up the printer and folder shared feature and couldnt do it. I had to do the network wizard today. I dont know if that had anything to do with it.

What steps should I take to get the internet going again. Forgive me , I a newbie so give simple steps.

A:Ok, shows wireless network but cannot connect to internet

Run the netwiz and give the pc's different names, don't need a p/word unless you really want to. But make sure the WORKGROUP NAME is the same on all pc's. When the wiz asks how the pc is going to connect to the net, click OTHER, then check the through a router etc box. DON"T make a floppy when prompted. Do this on all pc's and reboot at the end and you should be ok. If you want to share the stuff on your hd"s go into myputer and right click on c: and click sharing. Also Disable ALL firewalls Especially the built in firewall on XP. It can be found in network properties under advanced.

Hello Team,

I'm running Windows XP Pro. I'm using an Acer 5738Z and I user the Atheros AR5B91 wireless network adapter. In the Network Connections window, Wireless Network Connection shows a red X and says Not Connected. In the device manager, the Atheros driver is listed under Network Adapters. Also, in the Atheros Client Utility, I can see the available wireless network to connect. But, when I connect, its not connecting. I believe its because the Wireless Network Connection has a red X and its not connected. I tried reinstalling the Atheros drivers. Turned off the firewall, etc. to no luck. Also stopped and started the Wireless Zero Configuration in the services.

I've tried all possible steps from my side. Just not sure what to do to get the Wireless Network Connection to get connected, so that I can use my wireless.

It was working absolutely fine around a couple of months back. Did not make any major changes in my pc since then. I'm struggling with this for the past many weeks. Please help me out. Expecting to get a reply very soon.

I am going crazy trying to connect an old PC to my home wireless network.

I brought home a PC I have used for years at my office. I have it configured with a Realtek wireless card and was able to connect it to my office wireless network without a problem.

But, when I try to set it up at home, it won't take. I have a dlink router that is working fine with several Mac computers in my home, so I know the router and network are up and running fine.

The PC uses Windows XP. The icon in the lower right corner says dlink is connected and there is strong signal strength. However, when I check the dlink status, it shows that 2,573 "packets" are sent, while "0" are received.

I've tried to connect to the internet using Mozilla, Safari, and Explorer. Each says the server cannot be found and that the internet is not connected.

I am at my wit's end. Please help.

Several users in my organization are having a strange issue with the Dell Wireless 1820A driver on Windows 7. Computers with this driver sometimes have issues reaching network folders or internal websites on our network while connected to wireless, even if they are simultaneously connected by Ethernet cable. The problem goes away if these users disconnect from wireless OR if they run ipconfig /renew in command prompt. If they disconnect from wireless, no other steps are necessary.
At the suggestion of our network team, I uninstalled and reinstalled the driver in question, but this hasn't stopped the problem. It seems to be sporadic, using happening to these users twice a week or so. All of the affected users are using Latitude E7470 computers with Windows 7 and the Dell Wireless 1820A driver. We have other users on the E7470 on Windows 10 who do not experience this issue, as well as users of other Dell computers and computers from other manufacturers. Only this combination of E7470, Windows 7, and this driver have produced this issue.
Might anyone have any thoughts on why this keeps occurring, and how I might be able to fix it?

Welcome to TSG:
Try this and post results of IPCONFIG /ALL.
Tips on setting up broadband connection, courtesy of Johnwill

You don't need any setup disk to configure a broadband router.
Reset the router to factory defaults by holding the reset button down for 15 seconds with power on. The following procedure should get you a connection with any broadband modem that is configured to use DHCP for the router connection, such as cable modems, and many DSL modems. If you require PPPoE configuration for the DSL modem, that will have to be configured to match the ISP requirements.
• Turn off everything, the modem, router, computer.
• Connect the modem to the router's WAN/Internet port.
• Connect the computer to one of the router's LAN/Network ports.
• Turn on the modem, wait for a steady connect light.
• Turn on the router, wait for two minutes.
• Boot the computer.

When the computer is completely booted, let's see this.

Hold the Windows key and press R, then type CMD (COMMAND for W98/WME) to open a command prompt:

There seems to be an issue with the Windows 8 default driver for the Dell Wireless 1510 N WLAN MiniCard (Broadcom 4322 chip).

The W8 driver initially installed is Microsoft v5.100.245.20.
This driver has connection stability issues with both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz access points.
It is being reported by many users that after upgrading to Windows 8, this wireless adapter experiences extremely slow network throughput and connection problems.
This adapter with Windows7 was very stable with great network speed.

The work around we have found is to get an older Win7 driver
(Broadcom v.5.100.235.12)
from Dell and manually force it to install using ?Have Disk? method.

Is it possible to get this information back to Microsoft, and have them work with Broadcom and Dell to provide an updated stable Windows 8 driver for the Dell Wireless
1510 N WLAN Mini Card

A:Windows 8 Driver for Dell Wireless 1510 N WLAN MiniCard ( 4322 ) - slow network connection

I did contact Dell, but it useless trying to get feedback into Dell.
The defective driver (Microsoft signed v5.100.245.20) was provided as the initial driver with Windows 8 upgrade.  I was hoping MS would be interested in understanding there is an issue with this driver.
The driver is most like provided by Broadcom (chipset 4322), and Broadcom refuses to listen to the end users.  Broadcom solved it with the v5.100.235.12 (win7) driver which is what we are using now under Windows 8 (working fine).
Thanks for listening.

I've had wireless on this pc before. A while back, we had a tech come out from out internet provider to fix a few things, and we told him we already have a few other devices on our wireless network, so it may be a better idea to connect through an ether-net cord to our main pc for a more secure connection.

That has worked fine for the most part, but now there's a different problem, and I think I need to be able to connect wireless in order to fix it.
If it matters, the problem is, that any game I try to patch via the game launcher, times-out.
I actually spoke with a CSR from Square Enix, he said it may have to do with the port-forwarding, then I spoke with a rep in technical support from our local provider, and she said there is no port forwarding through the(ir) ether-net but it is available through wireless.

So, that's essential what has brought me here.
I'll upload a couple of pics, so you can actually see that:

B: There's no wireless driver - just the one on my driver list that, tbh, I don't know much about.

I've already tried uninstalling the driver then re-installing, (didn't detect anything).
I've tried power-cycling my modem.
I've messed around with every option in the "Network and Internet" settings in my control panel.
I've checked all around the outside of my pc, JUST IN CASE it's weird and has a switch somewhere that enables/disables wireless.
Just to confirm, yes, there is indeed... Read more

Hi,

So recently I have removed a nasty zeroaccess rootkit virus(es) from my laptop. My Windows Firewall, Defender and Updates would not work (still won't), my browser kept redirecting to unrelated websites, and I was just overall having a TON of irritating issues. I installed MalwareBytes and Zone Alarm in addition to my Microsoft Security Essentials and restarted my computer once - everything seemed fine. I went to delete a few programs from my computer via the control panel, just unneeded things like Canon software I don't even use anymore. My computer told me I needed to restart so I did, and when it turned back on, I suddenly had no more Internet access.

It registers that my Internet providers are being picked up on (as in, it says Silver Moose is emitting a signal yet I have "limited access") and all other devices using the network in my home are working just fine. I tried troubleshooting and it says that there are problems with the wireless network adapter and the driver for wireless network connection adapter.

I've read that removing a 0access will render someone Internet-less but some people have overcome this. However, every thread I've already taken a look at don't exactly fit with my problems/computer model, so I wanted to stay on the safe side and get help fitted exactly to me. I have Windows 7 64 bit., a Gateway model NV78. I don't know if my processor/Intel(R) Core details are needed. If so, I'll gladly provide them.

I ran ipconfig /all and was ... Read more

A:Problems with wireless network adapter and network connection driver

First with this remove Zone alarm, while it use to be a great product, it cause more issues than it's worth these days.
Next, Start menu-> All Programs -> Accessories -> Right click on command prompt and run as Administrator.

Type in netsh winsock reset and reboot, see if the combination of these will help.

Otherwise, system restore is very simple to use and will only affect programs installed, not your personal files. If this doesn't solve the issue pick a time before the rootkit, a couple weeks if possible, and just restore it. You can scroll through all the date to make note of any changes that will be made. Make sure to re-install your AV and Malwarebytes afterwards to keep you protected.

Also, I do not work for Malwarebytes, but $29 for a lifetime license and an active protection module is absolutely worth it.

Hello, seem to be having a rather serious issue with my laptop lately. It seems to be occasionally going through a sort of crash. First it "stutters", locking up, unable to move the mouse, if audio is playing it will loop. Then it just resets itself, as if crashing. There's been no consistency on to what causes it, or how often. Playing a Youtube video, running a virus scan, trying to reinstall the network driver, or even just trying to open up the network center in control panel. Sometimes it will go ten minutes, sometimes a couple hours before resetting itself. When it comes back, I no longer have any wireless network capabilities, and the network driver is missing. The icon displays a box, rather then a wifi symbol, with a red 'x', and says "No connections available". Resetting it again seems to fix it, but some times it takes a a few tries. And sometimes it seems I lose just my wireless network capabilities, without a crash (something that happened while writing out this post). The icon stays a wifi symbol, but with a red x. No one else in my household is having any issues, and my phone connects just fine. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the wireless driver, but that doesn't seem to work. I reset the modem, of course, but that didn't solve it. I ran a diagnostic with the Dell Support Assist, but it said it passed and detected no issue. Only solution I've found seems to be to restart it, and hope it takes a while before it ... Read more

A:My wireless network shows "limited connectivity" but has good signal,

It looks like you have a possibly good ethernet connection through a broadband modem. Are you having trouble with this connection?

We cannot help with your attempts to connect to a neighbor's network because you are violating the law and/or the neighbor is violating the terms of service of his ISP.

I have a D-Link AIRGUARD wireless router that wont get a WAN signal when connected to a cisco UbR905 broadband cable router. The cable company has my account configured to use either a static or a DHCP ip address. I have directly connected to the cisco cable router and have been able to use both the static and DHCP services with no problem but when i try connecting from the cable router to the wireless there is no WAN light and so there is no internet access. All the workstations have a local wireless signal and I have tried configuring the router both with DHCP and statically but it seems the signal isn`t making to the wireless router. The wireless modem also checks out btw as i have tested it separately and have been able to see the WAN light and get internet service on a different network.

I want to extend my wireless signal and be able to connect other devices to the internet on the other end of my house. I am using a T-Mobile WRTU54G Linksys Router with a Fi connection. I have another PC and a laptop networked with file and printer sharing working fine expect I lose quite a bit of signal on the opposite end of the house. I have a second laptop that does not have wireless working so I have to connect via LAN to access internet.

How can I use my other D-Link DI-524 router as a wireless AP (connected wirelessly/not with LAN) to connect the second laptop and extend my wireless signal on the other end of the house at the same time? I don't want to spend any more but hopefully use existing equipment to accomplish this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A:How do I set up a wireless AP using a DLink DI-524

Nope, the DI-524 has no bridge capability, and it's also not compatible with any 3rd party firmware that might help.

Hello,
I have a Dell Vostro 1720 with Intel WiFi Link 5300 AGN. Yesterday, my wireless network at home stopped working. In Wireless Network Connections, it says "Limited access". I'm not sending or receiving any packets, but my wireless connection is strong. When I troubleshoot the problem, it says that there might be a problem with the driver for the Wireless Network Connection adapter. I updated the driver and there are no caution signs in the device manager. I made sure I didn't have an AVG connection under Networking Properties as suggested elsewhere. I even tried manually configuring the IPv4 properties. I'm not sure what else to try at this point. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I am desperate! I have looked in some 20+ sites and downloaded some 15+ differnet drivers for the dwl 520+ wireless pci adapter, tried to install them but with no results. Most of the drivers I downloaded don't come as a .exe put as a .zip or .rar, and when I decompress them the only executable is for installing a dlink airplus utility. So I install the utility and restart the computer, but now the "wireless bars" have a black X over them, and when I double click it says "no driver load". So obviously no driver was installed, but there is no other .exe.

Later I try to install the driver through the .inf file (by going to device manager) but when I try to do so a dialog says that the file doesn't provide information about the hardware.

And after looking for 2 hours I finally find a file that is only .exe file, to find that when I double click on it winzip comes up (it doesn't run!!), so I decompress it and find the same things I found previously in the .zip/rar files

I am desperate as I have installed some 15 drivers and still no results. (I assume that I have uninstalled them prior to installing a new one)

I would like to have a link to working dlink dwl 520+ driver and a step by step process on how the f*** to install the driver. Any help would be be greatley appreciated

A:HELP!! dlink dwl-520+ driver problem

Can you find the card in Device Manager and click on Properties then on Details. Take a note of the PCI and Dev details - usually the first four characters is enough- and input them at this site http://www.pcidatabase.com/ which will give you the precise detail of the device and of who manufactured it, along with a hyperlink, hopefully. You may have upset the system, with so many false starts but with a bit of luck you can uninstall all that after you've found and installed the proper driver.

Well I bought the Dlinki dir 615 router not too long ago, it's a lil outdated but it was cheap so I figured why not buy it. It comes with a easy install CD, however for some reason I can't get through it. It goes all the way through until it gets to the verifying router settings during step 7 of the process, I always get the Error 302 internal error. Is there something my computer is missing or am I just doing something wrong?

We would like to see the results from an ipconfig /all - post back the results in a reply here.

If you cannot access the internet with this PC, then you will need to paste the results into something like notepad and then copy onto a machine that can access the internet and post the results in a reply here.
Save the file to a USB flash drive or other removable media. Plug it into the working computer with internet access and copy the file and paste here.

If you do not have another PC - do you have a phone connected to the internet - can you photograph the result and post the image in a reply

Any help is appreciated.

I recently bought a DLink DIR-615 the other day and have had issues with it disconnecting ever since.

It happens at random times where it will stop sending out internet signals but I will remain connected to the router. If I try to repair the connection I find myself unable to connect back to the router and have to wait 10 - 15 minutes for the router to automatically reconnect me.

I would take this thing back but I already sent in a rebate and a RMA will take weeks so I want to see if I can solve the problem first.
