Lenovo Ideapad U530 Windows 10 Compatible Drivers

Q: Lenovo Ideapad U530 Windows 10 Compatible Drivers

I have a Lenovo Ideapad U530 natively with Windows 8.1, now that the time has come and Windows 10 just launched some 2 days ago, I was wondering if this model was 100% drivers compatible and updated for Windoes 10.I have checked the Lenovo Drivers Download page (http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/ideapad-u-series-laptops/ideapad-u530-... and there are some Windos 10 compatible drivers.Should I wait for more drivers? Or can I just use the ones already are available and download the Windows 8.1 drivers?

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

I found the lid replacement but not the front bezel.  If anyone knows of one that is new or used I can purchase please let me know.

A:iso LENOVO IdeaPad U530 touch front lcd BEZEL

It's been awhile since I semi rebuilt my u530 after the hinge failed.  I don't recall it having a seperate bezel at all, the digitizer goes edge to edge and the "bezel" is masked onto the back of the glass.  FWIW, without the digitizer, I used duct tape to hold the screen in and hardware store bought bolts to reattach the lid.  UGLY!  It's been a while and my memory might be foggy, I want to forget about that experience.  If you're rebuilding because of hinge attachment failure?  You should contact Lenovo, even out of warranty and see if you can't get them to cover it.  It's a well-known design flaw.  Good luck!

So I purchased my Ideapad U530 Touch two years ago and unfortunately I had an extremely common hardware failure occur after my warranty period. One day, without reason or warning, my left hinge on my laptop completely failed when I went to open it. The hinge was stuck in the closed position and when opened it seperated from the laptop screen with a series of unexpected cracks and pops. I spent over $1,000 on this laptop expecting it to make it through my years at college but now I am left with a laptop barely connected to it's built-in monitor. I contacted lenovo support and the support rep even admitted that this is an extremely common occurence but stated that since I am out of warranty, I am basically out of luck and $1,000. You can easily google or search these forums and find that this is obviously a fault in the Lenovo design but they stated that nothing can be done because they can't put me in the system even. The support rep sounded extremely foreign and was unwilling to provide me with any help other than calling Best Buy and paying for a repair. My problem with this is that if I was "lucky" enough to have this design flaw happen during my warranty, I would be provided a repair. But since I was unlucky and had it occur after, I basically lost my money. To me, this is absolutely horrendous customer service for a company that I am sure has billions of dollars in profit. They sold me a flawed laptop that was destined to break at some point and now I have no ch... Read more

Hello, My webcam has stopped working. After over 8 hours with Windows support and relentlessly trying to install/uninstall the camera drivers suggested on the U530 drivers page, they redirected me here and assumed I needed to update the BIOS, as the newly installed drivers did not show up on the device manager list. I tried going through the solutions listed on this forum: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-U-and-S-Series-Notebooks/U530-webcam-not-working-drivers-disappe... to no avail. I did not do the reset step as I do not have enough space on my laptop to back it up as suggested and have quite a few files I do not want to lose. If absolutely necessary I can go get an external hard drive, but I have already also tried rolling back Windows 10 to a prior update to no avail either. I did try to use that link to update the BIOS, but I have Windows 10, not 8. Is there another BIOS update that would fix this for me? When I go into device managers, there is no tab for imaging devices. Under the Sound/Game category, there is Cyberlink Webcam Driver, but that's it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Edit; this is my first time on the boards. My apologies if it was posted under the wrong category--I got really confused.

A:Ideapad U530 Imaging drivers disappearing

I have also double checked to make sure the privacy settings on my camera are on (they are), so that is not the problem either.

How do you display bios to an external monitor for a Lenovo Ideapad u530 running Windows 10? I can get Windows 10 login page to show on the external monitor but not the bios details. Reason: I have an almost non-functional laptop screen so I'm using the external monitor. What I see in the bios screen (on the almost non-functional laptop screen) is Insydeh20 setup utility. Is there an option in this utility to force the bios to the external monitor?

Hey all, sorry if this is the wrong spot for my post but I'm new around here. Yesterday, my Ideapad's battery malfunctioned when it was around 20%, and when I tried to plug in the ac adapter, it wouldn't charge. Eventually the battery ran down to 0, and now I'm stuck with a dead battery and laptop. Is there anything I can do? I initially thought it was the charger, and I ordered a new one, but even the new charger won't charge it either.

Yesterday afternoon I purchased a Lenovo IdeaPad Z575 for $499.00 from this link: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834246328

Obviously, it hasn't come in the mail yet. I'm looking to upgrade the RAM in the laptop. It comes with 6gb of RAM, a 4gb stick and a 2gb stick. The problem is, I don't really know what kind of RAM is in the computer. I'm looking to replace the 2gb stick with a second 4gb stick.

The type of RAM the laptop uses is pc3-10600 1333mhz ddr3, non-parity, dual-channel capable, two 204-pin so-dimm socket RAM.

My question is whether or not this RAM is compatible with the laptop: http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Electronics-Extreme-MV-3T4G3-US/dp/B00591ZYX8

Also, if there is a better option for RAM for this laptop, I'd like to know.

A:Solved: Is this RAM compatible with my Lenovo IdeaPad Z575?

Honestly, I think I may have mental problems. It looks like I answered my own question in this post. That RAM is compatible with my laptop. So I guess I'd just like to know if this RAM is the best option for this particular laptop.

Does anyone know if the Intel 7260HMW 802.11ac mPCI-e card is on the whitelist for the u530. Information on this isn't just scarce... it's nonexistent. I bought this laptop with the intention of upgrading the network card and had never heard of this "whitelist" thing before until I started actively researching the process. Anyway, my system has the 7260bgn 802.11n card. It's an okay card, but I'd like to be able to upgrade eventually. Hopefully Lenovo has tested the ac version of this card already and put it on the whitelist. Does anyone know?

A:IdeaPad u530 upgrade to 802.11ac

Even though the Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 isn't on the whitelist, you can purchase the Lenovo version of the Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC with the FRU P/N: 04W3814 Here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Intel-wireless-AC-7260-7260HMW-wifi-bluetooth-4-0-adapter-Lenovo-04W3814-/19...You might have a better chance of getting that card to work. No need to waste time buying the generic 7260.HMW since it won't work.

I know that many people are having problems with broken hinges. My laptop is out of warranty and it seems I can't even talk with support unless I purchase premium support or it's just not apparent to me on how to speak with someone without premium. Anyway, through looking through this forum and online, it doesn't seem like support is a nightmare and I've heard of nightmare stories in which support has had laptops for extensive periods of time. My questions is, has anyone had their laptop hinge fixed/replaced succesfully by Lenovo? Just seems to me that going through tech support is not a really good option, especially if that support has to be paid for with no reasonably godd outcome. Thanks to nayone at all who replies.

Hi Dshively ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

I would have to leave to others about repairs but as I have gathered reports about after-repair calls , depot repair team are doing good.

Regarding the issue that you currently have , I would still suggest you calling the technical support team specially if there was no accidents or mishandling on users end. They would be able to provide you options.

When did the warranty expired ? You may also check here or if you still have the receipt .

Hi all, I purchased my U530 Touch laptop in January of 2015, then about a year later I had the infamous "broken hinge" issue that a lot of these laptops seem to suffer from. I sent it in to Lenovo and had it fixed though, and haven't had any other issue with it until now. The problem I am now experiencing is a very noticable flickering that moves from the bottom to the top of the screen. Changing the refresh rate only seems to change the rate at which the flickering moves. I noticed that the glossy black portion of the hinge seemed to have a slighly loose feel, and saw the screen flickering issue go away when I pressed into the hinge in the right place. You can feel and hear the plastic moving when pressing into the hinge. If you fiddle with it enough you can get it to a state where the screen doesn't flicker, but it's not an ideal solution. If the laptop gets even slightly bumped or moved, the flickering will come back. Any help with this issue would be much appreciated.

Reply from Lenovo Support for my caseWe have received your case that is tied to machine with serial # QBXXXXXXXX. We are currently showing that machine went out of warranty on 7/4/2015. Due to the extreme length since it went out of warranty. At this time Lenovo is not able to offer a free repair on this machine. If we were maybe a few months after it went out of warranty we might have been able to assist. But due to the fact that we are now 11 months out of warranty and we can't cover a machine for such an extended period of time. There has to be a definite end to the warranty. At this time Lenovo will not take any further action on this case. My Response to above messageThank you for your response and looking into this issue at your earliest. Please refer to link here which has listed this issue as widespread issue for Ideapad U530 model and has offered to repair the laptop. Moreover this issue has been widespread issue on your other laptop models as well like U310, U310 touch and U410, U410 touch. This shows that there is design flaw in all of these laptops. Since this is design flaw at company end it will manifest sometime or other. In my case it has happened late since I have been using this laptop with more care comparative to other users who are having same issue earlier in the life of laptop. It is not expected of world class company like Lenovo to keep manufacturing such defective laptop.I have other Lenovo T430 purchased after 3 months of this laptop and it does... Read more

Because my computer is out of  warrenty for over a year the contact I had with Lenovo has proved to be useless.  I called on Monday 4/25/16 to be told that they could replace the hinges a one time courtesy repair because the hinges they put into this unit were not strong enough to hold the display and they were replacing them with new ones.  I was told I would be called in 3 business days for instructions on shipping.  Upday today 4/28/16 phone call from Lenovo telling me that because they don't make those parts anymore that I would not be eligible for any repairs.  She said the only thing they could do is offer me a 15% on the back end of a purchase from Lenovo for a new computer.  This was totally unacceptable to me and I told the woman I was livid to think a company this large could not make this right...If they knew these hinges were defective every single person should have been compensated for this defect.  Personally I will never buy another Lenovo product as long as I breathe!  Now to spend another $900.00 for a new computer is a HUGE expense.

This has been an exhausting day! I've been trying to figure this out for quite awhile.

To start, I'll post some information.

My webcam was working fine yesterday! I tried doing a system reboot to the the week before that and alas the issue prevailed. My internal webcam is not being registered by my laptop!

So the solution that seemed obvious enough was to check my drivers, update them if necessary. Which I ended up doing. Alas, the issue prevailed.

Checking the device status, I received the error "Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)

To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer." The device is currently registered as 'Unknown device' as I uninstalled the driver. I was receiving the same error when I did have the original drivers though.
Looking up what the error means, it meant that the device was disconnected. I'm not entirely sure how this could happen though with an internal laptop. I also need to get a new copy of the drivers (Which don't seem to be registering the device upon installation).

Anyway any help would be appreciated as this has become a huge headache for me, and i just want to skype with my friend!

A:Need help with internal webcam drivers for Lenovo Ideapad y510p.

It might be that the webcam has failed if everything else has been tried.you can take it somewhere and have it looked at but im not even sure they can be fixed when they go. it might be cheaper just to get an external webcam such as a logitech.

That was a big mistake; So, I wen't from windows 8 back down to windows 7. I didn't notice this until after I setup my computer but the windows 7 drivers got deleted and they were replaced with nothing. Because this is a Lenovo brand computer, it has a program called onekey recover. So I installed that through a USB becuase the laptop doesn't have a LAN wireless network connection driver on it. And I don't have internet at my house. So anyways, once that was installed, I ran it and it didn't work. Is there anyway I can restore all of my drivers and use the lenovo onekey recovery?

You will have to download the drivers from Lenovo. Generally, Windows 7 will install many drivers, although it may not install all.

You will have to download all the drivers from Lenovo for the Z525. Start with the video, Sound, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, touchpad, etc.

Once a different OS was installed on the PC, I don't think the Onekey or any recovery partition will work. Only a manual install with a Windows disc and all the drivers.

I have upgraded to Windows 10 and I can find no way to make install disks that will give me my Lenovo software like a factory install with my windows 10. A recovery set will not work because it will be a bare drive (no Windows installed). It looks to me that onekey will not give me this option either. Also I want Windows 10 to reside on the SSD only and only use the HDD for storage. The HDD and you want windows on the SSD? You can create a windows RECOVERY key.You can use window backup, system image, to external USB-HDD. Forget One Key Recovery, Forget Factory Recovery.  These are gone with the wind after your win 10 install.

I am kind of confused of what could be the problem, perhaps hardware? I would appreciate any input or suggestions. I have tried using an alternate monitor and at times it works for a while but other times it wouldnt recieve any signal. I am running Windows 8.1 and can still boot into safe mode,  These are some things that I have tried:Reinstalling the entire OS from the Lenovo backup - this worked on the intitial startup, on reboot however black screen.Reinstalling drivers - Worked momentarily on and off, moderate success. Trying to login from the blackscreen doesnt workI have disabled Windows from automatically installing driver updates *Off topic- the hinges on the laptop screen have broken off, have tried to put it together with epoxy, hot glue, superglue and all have failed. (Warranty is expired)

Hello, I bought my U530 Touch from Vatan Computer in Turkey, on November 2014. Let me first make clear that the law states the standard warranty period as 2 years in Turkey, so my laptop is still under warranty.  What happened to maybe hundreds of people on this forum happened to me, too. One day, a little over a month ago, when I was opening the lid of my laptop, I felt a resistance and the plastic casing on the left hinge cracked slightly as I tried to open my computer. But when it was fully open, the plastic was cracked and would not get back into its original position and it was clear that closing the lid was not an option anymore. I could see the faulty hinge and some cables from the opening between the screen and the cracked plastic. Thankfully, my screen didn't crack like so many users' here and I was able to use my laptop as a desktop for a few weeks until I could take it back to Vatan Computer, lid open, so that they could send it to service.  I received a message 6 days later stating that I had to pay the quarter of what I had payed for my computer (1000 USD) in order to get it fixed because it was "due to user error". Talking to Vatan computer or technical service on the phone was useless. I tried to explain to them that I take very good care of my computer, I have not dropped it, they cannot find any indication of misuse on the machine, but they wouldn't even listen to me. So I contacted Lenovo Turkey for support. They did n... Read more

As for parts, eBay can be a good source for new or used parts.  There are also sellers that offer new screens with warranty, but you would have to check to see if they will ship to you.  Here is one such company that is frequently recommended........

I have a Lenovo U530 Touch with 8GB of ram that I would like to upgrade to 16GB.  I have seen in some places that the 8GB is the maximum allowed on this laptop. Is this definitely the case or can more than 8GB be used? Also if it can be upgraded what kind of RAM should I be looking to purchase? Thanks
