Q: multiple issues on multiple computers, maybe i am a beginner, thought i was moving ou

Thanks for taking the time to read this, I am new to the site and went to hardware to try to fix an issue, Wayne and Frank both were very nice, Wayne recommended that i go to malware virus first, i have three issue i hope to receive some free advice on. the hardware issue was a wireless button not working, i believe the driver is bad, qualcomm atheros 9485 802.11b?g/n. but following directions seemed very difficult, as i am having an issue with redirects, new tabs opening and pop ups, so many in fact i am having trouble following download directions, i believe i have had as many as 6 at once, mostly multiple, but at times only one. When downloading often a new window opens when thing are correct, but not a half dozen and some are clearly not related, but many are close to what i want. i had a malware q pro something, google told me how to remove it, it returned, the conduit, thing has affect me, toolbars are installed with out my ok, so i read carefully when going through the steps. now i do not know what is my problem with all the unwanted pop ups, redirects new tabs new links, my wife works daily on a computer, she is a CAD operator, while out of town she bought me a new laptop just like hers except software. my desktop was down i was trying to re install either vita or windows 7, i had the system disks and a mirror of computer i bought. got to final step and crashes. have any suggestion on the virus issue as this conputer works with an ethernet cable but not wireless, so i have access to web on it. if i get rid of all the pop up issue maybe i can reinstall wireless button driver and proceed to my desktop. but if reformatting my desktop is easier that is fine.

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

I am usine a belkin-n router, I have 7 computers running off the one router. 2 are hardlined in the other 5 are wireless. Have been running this system for approximatly a year. Within the last 3 weeks at roughly the same time in the evening I have been experiencing a lag issue. It has kicked different comp. out of AIM chat rooms, off online games and even from msn messenger. during a couple of these episodes have run a speed check and it has checked out. went through each computer and ran virus scans, even restored a couple to original set-up. have gone so far as to shut down all but one computer and still seeing the lag issue. not all 7 computers are on typicallly at the same time usually only 3-4. Any help or ideas anyone has would be appreciated.

A:Multiple computers on one router, lag issues

This can be an issue at the ISP and not directly related to your router/lan/systems.

When the dropout occurs, use a browser to access the router config page, login
and check the WAN side config -- specifically look for WHEN the lease was granted
and when it will expire.

I have a really odd set of computer troubles to put forthfor you, a family of computers, if you will.

Some of them are in PA, some down here in Texas.

They range from Win 7 to Win 8.1, desktops and laptops and, I think, most of them are HP. T

They range from less than 6 months old to about 4 years old.

Most of them seem to have developed these issues right around the time when the pesky Win 10 blue box began to appear, about a month or so now.

One computer, my mother-in-law, is practically brand new, about a month and half old and she too, is having issues.

The worst was my Dad?s, his got stuck in the middle of a Windows update and would never get out of the recovery/repair loop and would never boot back in to Windows 8.1.

Finally got in to a recover screen and finally got it to back up his documents by selecting just them but could never get it to back up his pics, no matter what method we tried. No disc, no external hard drive, no flash drive would get it to work.

Finally, an HP tech, after several days of calls with them, had Dad reseat (?) his ram card(s) and then they either had him, or the system forced him to do a factory reinstall.

Needless to say, unless someone knows how to do it, we think all of Dad?s photos are lost?

Within the same week or so, either shortly before or after Dad?s catastrophe, we all began to have issues with our computers, either during or shortly after Windows updates or when that darned blue box began to continually appear to... Read more

A:Multiple Computers - Performance Issues - HELP Please!

OK, the
I noticed on our laptop that I have a lovely white windows flag on the lower right hand side of the screen, near the internet signal and speaker icons.
If I hover the mouse over it, it says Get Windows 10.
I don't want Windows 10, yet. I might consider downloading it to media and using later, if there is a way to do that?
I just don't want it downloading onto my laptop at this time.
I will have to have everyone else in the family check and see if they also have that little white flag.
Don't mind saying that I'm really tired of babysitting the computers. Shouldn't have to do this so darn much, in my humble opinion.

Hello All-
I am part of team of people who are experiencing a weird issue that we cannot seem to pin point the root cause of;
So far the only commonality between the computers seems to be Windows 7 and LabTech Software.
I, personally have seen the issue occur on 3 separate computers. It happens when you reboot the machine. However, we have a large network on machines on various clients and we are noticing the issue on a certain percentage of our clients, and then a certain percentage of their machines. It does not appear to be spreading, but it has affected a great number of computers.
One of the computers was unable to install windows updates, .NET seemed to have been turned off, unable to turn it on, event viewer was inaccessible, restoring windows worked the first few times and now the restore will not even work. (that computer is hosed after experiencing the crash 4 times)
Another computer, which I am currently on, is still repairing and rebooting into windows. I rebooted into a restore point from yesterday morning "after the crash." The user used the computer all day yesterday without issue. We decided that we would use it to perform some test on...
I booted it into safe mode and ran an MBAM scan.
I found 2527 threats and attempted to remove them (necessary reboot)
computer would not boot up, necessary restore.
tried to remove malware bytes which was still there, but could not, downloaded a removal tool recommended by MBAM, removed prog... Read more

I'm running Scientific Linux 7 (Basically RHEL7) on a number of these computers, and I'm up to 4 now that have incrementing error counters on the ethernet NIC. We've seen the errors on each computer when plugged into different switches, ports, cables, rooms, etc. One was repaired with a replaced motherboard, one wasn't - I don't know if I got a dud replacement also, or if there's some driver issue.  We have heavy use of NFS shares and when we get one of these with wired NIC errors, the performance of the GUI and just using the OS goes through the floor. I'm beginning to wonder if there's an incompatibility or we just got a run of bad NICs or what.

My USB2.0 works fine with each device and computer. I also took the new computer into CompUSA and they tried their firewire device and all worked. I bought a new firewire cable, but I have the same luck with each device.

I was wondering whether there's a way to move my database (on Google Gears) from one user account to another (on the same computer), and whether there's also a way I can do that from one computer to another (from my desktop to netbook, for instance)?

I'm having internet connection issues (plenty in fact):

My modem (LAN and Wi-Fi) probably died of old age (or over-heating) or it got struck by lightening;
I've been getting thunderstorms in my area (meaning I'll have to unplug a lot and lose plenty of online work time);
My USB dongle won't work on my Guest account and I can't seem to give it any admin rights on Vista.
So it's just terrible that I'm stuck with one computer (a Windows Vista desktop--meaning it constantly needs to be plugged-in) during these times. I'd like to be able to move them on my Windows 7 netbook or to accounts where the USB dongle works.

I could use some help. I'm not the best at this type of thing but I was having some major problems with my laptop and even though I ran both Spybot S&D and Malwarebytes they came back clean. But my wireless wouldn't stay connected and I was highly suspicious. I wondered what processes were running and when I started the Task Manager it showed multiple files ending in .exe*32.
I know this isn't correct and I Googled and found this forum. I have downloaded the Farbar and the other two and it's helped a lot but since I don't know what I'm looking at or for and there are still multiple files ending like that I'm not sure what to do next.
Also, I checked my desktop and discovered the same thing. It runs slow but I haven't done anything to it. I use LogMeIn and I'm concerned that I might have infected the other computes I was connected to. Can anyone help me, please? Thank you in advance.

A:Multiple computers with multiple files ending in .exe*32

Processes that end with *32 are 32-bit applications running under WOW on a 64-bit OS. WOW64 allows 32-bit Windows-based applications to run on 64-bit Windows...see Running 32-bit ApplicationsMicrosoft created the folder named SysWOW64 for storing 32-bit .dll files. Motherboard: BIOSTAR GF8200E

Our ISP recently updated their hard ware to work with the Sprint network. Note: our ISP is not Sprint, but the local phone company.

Our Hardware:
Internet: DSL 10.0 (highest speed available)
Modem: Comtrend (ISP provides)
Router: Belkin N
Computer: 10 yr old Dell running XP - service pac3 - wired connection
Kindle Fire (first edition, no HD, etc) - wireless connection
Xbox 360 - wireless connection

Xbox - went from constantly bumped from Xbox Live game by losing internet connection to not being able to enter a game at all
Kindle - went from occasional "network error' message during online tasks to having to restart download (multiple times) or refresh page for most any or all online tasks
Computer - have to click refresh to get most any page to load after the home page

What we've tried so far:
I have recently cleared the cache on both the computer and Kindle. XBox's new security measures have been met.

My questions:
Do any or all of these issues seem to be related?
Is there a piece of equipment or something we may be missing to make all of these things work? I am a networking novice.
Who should I call to get these issues corrected, my ISP or a tech service? Note: if I start with the ISP and they do not find an issue I have to pay for the call.

A:Multiple issues over multiple devices

First. You should try to NOT use a wireless connection for any type of gaming: PC, Mac, Console, etc. If you can hard wire the xbox you'll be waaay better off than using wireless.

Now... Yes, the issues could be related - there maybe an issue with the Belkin N router. I'd try to first reset the Belkin router to default settings, check on manufacturer website for instructions how, most routers you can press a "reset" button w/ a paperclip or ball point pen. Reconfigure the Belkin router, recreate the wireless network and see how everything works. If you are still having issues, humor me and connect the Dell directly to the DSL modem, bypassing Belkin router. See if you still have connection issues, if you do then it could be the DSL modem that is the problem and call your ISP to replace. If you don't have same issues then it's most likely an issue with the Belkin router. Replace it. Don't buy the dirt cheapest router at the store, but you most likely don't need the most expensive one either. Find a good middle ground router, ask sales associate to assist you accordingly.

Post back, Hope this helps!!

Hey guys,
I've currently got 4 different browsers installed on my computer (IE, Firefox, Chrome, Opera). I've had different issues with each and every one of them. Right now I'm using Opera and for the most part it's been pretty good. Although lately it's been starting to act up.

I stopped using IE a year ago because it would just shut down on it's own. Chrome would freeze up. Firefox seems to lag sometimes and now Opera is showing signs of lagging. Lately Opera has become particularly bad with Facebook and is slow to load images. I've removed Opera and reinstalled. All of the browsers are up to date. The computer was reformatted a little while back. Everything is up to date. Virus scans show it's clean. I deleted all temporary internet files, cookies, etc etc. My hard drive has lots of free space on it. I know my internet is supposed to be high speed but sometimes I wonder about that. I've had issues with the modem in the past. So maybe that's one possibility?.
My computer is about 4 years old. Acer model AM3970.
Windows 7 64 bit.
CPU - Intel Core i3 processor 2120
RAM - 4GB DDR3 Memory
HDD - 1TB harddrive.

Can you recommend any other browsers that might be better than what I'm using?. Any help would be appreciated.

A:Multiple Browsers with multiple issues

Hi Classic2016, welcome to the Forum.

As you are having issues with all browsers, the logical possibility is your modem or internet speed.

Does your computer perform properly when not using the internet. If so the check in Device Manager for any modem driver issues. If all seems well there then, the modem itself may be the cause.

I'm sure this will be a simple problem for most of you, but I'd love to learn how to do it !! Lets say that I open the My Documents file on my computer. There's hundreds of files, and I want to move or delete 40 of them. How do I do that without doing it 1 by 1 ?? Now, I right click the file and choose either delete or move to, and do it like that. But -- there HAS to be a way that I can choose all the files, and do them all at once !! If I'm, doing them all, that's simple to do. I click on select all and do that, but how do I do it if I'm not doing them all !! Thanks !!

A:Deleating or moving multiple files

Hello fsufan0025,

There are many ways to tackle this problem. The simplest option would be to highlight the files you want with what is know as the good ol' click drag box selection thingy.

(this guide works under the assumption that you have your click items as follows set to Double-Click to open an item, which you can change in Folder Options)

For Contiguous Files

Left click on an empty spot and drag your mouse around the files you want to delete. Of course this will vary depending on your folder view options which will determine the size of the icons etc.

From this visual example, say i want to delete files a.txt to a_5.txt, I have left clicked to the right of the icon and made a selection box to encompass the files i want to delete.

The next step, once you've highlighted the files you want, is to either press the Delete Key on your keyboard if you want to send them to the Recycle Bin, or Shift-Delete if you want to permanently get rid of them. Or you can just right click on any of the highlighted files and select Delete from the drop-down menu. Same concept.

Non-Contiguous File Selection

But say the files you wish to select/delete are arranged non contiguously, like intermittently

For Example, you want to delete a,a_2,a_4,a_9 and only these 4 files.

What you'd do in this situation is to use the good ol' Ctrl-Left Click combination.. Hold down the Ctrl button on your keyboard and Left Click the files you want to select; this allows windows to keep the previo... Read more

I currently have three comuters, all with Soundcards, but I have only been running one of the computers through a Creative Labs 5.1 speaker system. All of my computers have the same sound card, which leads me to my question; does anyone know of a way to hook up all three comuters to a single set of speakers, preferably using the digital connection?

I don't mind using an external device to manage the setup, but I would like something that will be outputting the sound from all three computers at the same time. I tend to use only one computer at a time, so I'm not worried about one comouter stepping on another computer...

Hi, I've got a big problem, it started on one computer and has now gone to all others (12) so everytime i clean up one of them it gets infected right away. I use Avast on all of them and it identifies the virus but still isn't able to get rid of it. I have deactivated Windows Restore but the problem persist. Each computer does something different. One of them just won't start. The others keep sending a message that the comp is infected with Brontok-AA and every time it gets rid of the virus it duplicates, mainly on shared folders.

Many thanks for your help.

A:Brontok-aa On Multiple Computers

Is this a work environment or a home environment? Make sure that avast is completely up to date on each computer.Download Spybot Search & Destroy make sure that it is installed and updated on every computer.disable the network connection on each computer, every computer must not have any network access. for the duration of this fix.restart each computer in safe mode, run a full system scan with Spybot, clean everything that it finds, if it wants to finish cleaning by restarting, do not restart yet. log out of each account and log onto another account, and cleanup each account on each machine separately.once that is done, rescan with Avast, this must be done in safe mode also.restart the machine, in safe mode to let spybot finish its cleaning. once spybot is done, restart the machine again, and do not activate the network connection until all machines have been cleaned.

Hi all,
I need a program that will combine all my computers in my network (24 computers) into 1 big Wi-Fi Hotspot.
eg, I have 3 floors with computers, each pc has a wireless card that is not in use
I want to create 1 wifi "router" from all of them. So, if I'm on the 1st floor and go to the 3rd, I will not lose connection

It is a school (long hallways and concrete walls and floor)
I tried a router, but at the end of the hallway there is no reception...
And I cannot put the router in 1 of the classrooms

Anyone knows a good software for it ?

Hello, Long time no speak Paladins.

I'm considering on getting a new UPS for my PCs, specifically the CyberPower CP1350AVRL, either locally or newegg. I'd be running two computers on this unit and for those who uses CyberPower's UPSs, is there a way to manage two computers with it, considering it has both a USB and serial port?

Assuming it does not, Anyone have any ideas how I could emulate this, or have the PC with the datalink to the UPS shutdown the other? Perhaps using an event to invoke the shutdown command to close a remote computer would be the most raw way of doing it, but I'd love to know if there is a more elegant way.

I don't believe there is a "built in" remote function but the script works.

There is also EMCO Remote Shutdown.

What kind of disk is it? If its a Windows XP CD then you can use it as long as its the same version thats installed on the laptop AND you must use the license number found on the bottom of the laptop. If its a Recovery disc then you CANNOT use it on the laptop.

I have an issue with setting up XP clients in a situation where there are multiple networks. We have an application that requires to run on a private intranet, together with a requirement that PCs on another network (an office network) can get access to the devices in the private network. The office network is connected to the Internet via a router and one of the PCs in the private network has two NICs, one on the office and one on the private network. For example purposes the office network has IPs in the 192.168.0.x domain and the private network has IPs in the 193.168.0.x domain. The office network PCs use DHCP, the private network PCs are static IPs.

The dual NIC PC on the private network has the Routing service enabled and we are able to access the devices on the private network from the office network. This was achieved by setting the default Gateway on the office PC to point to the DUAL NIC PC. The problem is that the PC in the office network has now lost Internet connectivity because of the change of Default Gateway.

Is there a way to configure these networks so that we can maintain office network access to the Internet and also have access to the private network through the dual NIC PC?

Many thanks,

I have 2 XP computers that are virtually unusable because of various viruses. The processes that I see are wics32.exe, .exe and vyre32.exe (although I'm sure there are other processes that I'm not aware of). When I look at what applications are running under task manager I see multiple iterations of - , (comma), 8 and Error, task manager and nothing else. Occaisionally, Security Essentials will pop up a message that the computer is unclean, I push the clean button and Security Essentials thinks all is well with the computer -- not true.

A tech friend suggested that I try combofix.exe as a last ditch effort before scrubbing everything and re-installing the operating system. I'm willing to give anything a try because these infections are systemic -- they exist even when I create new accounts. I would download the software, but your site suggests getting help from the experts before doing anything, so here I am.

I got an IBM tech support friend help with one computer -- he's not a security expert and ran out of time trying to find the source of vyre32.exe on a laptop that is experiencing the problems. I can run regedit and check some minimal things, but my tech background is unix-based (aix) and things in XP are managed differently.

I have a question regarding the legal issues of Windows 7.
If I have a fully legal and genuine version on my laptop, would it be legal for me to install it on another home computer, keeping the gennuinity of the software?

Hi all,
I just created a hotmail account for my uncle because he's going to try to wean himself off of AOL. He wanted to open it through Outlook Express which I set up on his home PC, no problem (he's using OE 6). He also wants to set it up on his work laptop. The two computers are not connected in any way. If I set it up on both, will his hotmail or Outlook Express get confused? I just want to check before I do it in case it's going to cause him problems.

Hey guys... Small problem here.

I sold an old HP computer running Windows XP to a older gentleman locally on craigslist about 7 months ago, and he had 2 PC's and a Laptop in his home. I left XP on mine, and we went to Fry's and paid for 2 versions of Windows Vista to add to his laptop and other home PC. everything went fine, everything was paid for. Legal copies of windows. I've not heard from him since.

LOL, about 3 days ago I get a call from him. Apparently this older guy then went on craigslist and found a guy selling windows 7, he upgraded ALL 3 of the PC's and the laptop to Windows 7, and added some ram to the older computer... But whoever he dealt with was a scammer because now all of those 4 machines updated to the WAT update that went off 3 or 4 days ago and ALL of the copies on all 4 of his computers are BAD, they were all stolen, re-used, or what I'm assuming are illegal cracked copies.

Now, Pay attention. I'm legit, and a nice guy.. The older guy was nice also. It was someone ELSE that scammed him, and installed illegal copies on all his PC's. I did tell him to call Microsoft, but I doubt anything can be done since he was paying crap cheap dollars for them. (Shoulda known better)

SOOO.. Now this guy calls me. He tells me the story, and said you seemed to be a nice, and honest guy. (and I am, and we installed LEGAL, real copies) he says I don't wanna go back to my versions of Vista. and I'm not really sure where I even put the disks. but I'd like to ... Read more

A:Windows 7 W.A.T, Multiple computers down!

Isn't there a "Get Legit" button or something on there?

I know that there is a mechanism for turning a pirated version into a legit copy. Haven't seen it in action but I would think that it would be within the procedure of the activation/validation check actively informing you that the copy was not legit...

I have only dial-up internet access out here in the country. I need to update the four computers
on my LAN to fix the many security bugs in IE5.5. How can I download a copy of the updates and
then install them on the four computers.

Every way I try on Microsoft's web site keeps bringing me back to downloading the IE setup
program which then has to download the same data on each computer. That is about 10Megs
per computer and hours and hours of time.

Surely there is a better way!

I have a valid XP home upgrade version.
I put the copy also on my kid's PC.
I am now building a gamming rig for myself.

How many time can I install XP home Upgrade version?
I am already running into activation problems on my system.
Microsoft says I have exceeded my limit for that product key.

What are my options ?
( Please no lectures about Linux or Macs )

A:Windows XP on multiple computers

You can install one copy legally on one machine. You are already over the limit so the solution is to buy two legal copies, one for your kids PC and one for the gaming rig.

First time poster here. My son likes to attempt to get "free games" and has infected one or both of my computers on multiple occasions. I have usually been able to clean them and feel comfortable afterwards, but this time I would like some reassurance.

1 computer is running Windows 7 home premium 32 bit, the other is running Windows 7 pro 64 bit.

All I know is he was attempting to crack and mod a game called Minecraft, and he ended up running some executables and a .jar file on both machines. The symptoms I was getting were:

1. Solid red screen at Windows startup up for several seconds on the 32 bit machine
2. Many command windows cascading open and quickly closing at Windows startup
3. Firefox not being able to open except in safe mode on the 32 bit machine
4. "Other people are connected to this computer" messages on both machines when trying to uninstall software or reboot
5. Browser pop-ups

Steps I have taken so far:

1. Uninstall all programs that were installed on 8/3 or later (I first noticed problems on 8/5)
2. Delete all files from "Downloads" folder
3. Delete all files in user/<user>/temp folder modified 8/3 or later (noticed there were files in here being accessed at startup)
4. Ran msconfig and unchecked any startup files/programs that did not belong
5. Ran full scan and remove with PCTools Spyware Doctor with Anti Virus
6. Ran full scan and remove with MalwareBytes
7. Removed all addons from Firefox

Greetings and Welcome to The Forums!!My name is Gringo and I'll be glad to help you with your computer problems.I have put together somethings for you to keep in mind while I am helping you to make things go easier and faster for both of usPlease do not run any tools unless instructed to do so.

I' am new to these forums, but I have a question about windows mail. I have three computers in my office, and they all need access to the same email server, but my problem is that not everyone gets all the emails all the time, even if none of them are deleted. I have set the accounts on all of these to keep the emails on the server, and to not delete them when recieved, but they seem to do it any ways! I don't know of anything else that would fix this problem.

Also, the email server is SBCGlobal.net if that has anything to do with it.

A lot of email never gets delivered. You can set the server to keep mail on it and not delete it when downloaded but the server may set either a size limit to the mailbox, or an age limit to the box.

Can you give some more info on the specifics?

I have a dlink router behind a dsl connection with a STATIC IP. I believe its the dl-524 but not positive because its offsite. Its a 4port older cheap one with one antenna that came from my ISP with the modem. Anyhow I have two questions:

1) Its for a double duplex house with multiple computers, approximately 8 or 9 connections. Some of the computers are Mac's and some are PC's. I had trouble getting all the computers to connect easily through a WEP 64 or 128bit encryption and found on another site it wasn't possible with so many many different wireless cards, so Ive kept it open since. Is this true?? Is there a way to password protect the connection without an encrypted key so all the wireless computers can connect inside the residence's but not to anyone else in the neighborhood?

info: The computers are for school term tenants so I don't want to have to reconfigure their computers every 6 months they change, just give them a password in with low security. Im not worried about hackers, Im worried about the bum next door using the open connection to download movies.

2) I also have a CCTV DVR on the premise watching the parking lot, that is plugged into port 1 with a patchcord to the above router. Ive found that the local IP changes nearly every couple days ie: will change to for no reason. This intern limits my access into the DVR remotely. The DVR has a server and is set to port 80. I dont think I can change the D... Read more

Hello all,

We have 3 PC`s & 3 laptops in our household, I also maintain my Mums laptop.

All bar 2 laptops are on XP (one on Vista, one on 8).

With the news that XP will loose support imminently, & with a general dislike of the W8 laptop, I`d like to upgrade all of them to 7.

However, I am on a small budget, I cant afford to buy individual OE keys for all of them, I wish to do them all as I did with XP, on 1 pro type licence.

I`ve been looking at various posts online today and I`m not much wiser, especially in regard to multiple PC keys.

My computers are all similar specs, P4`s between 2.7 & 3.06, 2-4gb of memory, 100-400gb main drives, all fairly basic, no extra graphics or soundcards etc & all (for the most part) work perfectly well on XP.

So, can anyone advise me, especially on the licence question.

Many thanks.

A:Upgrading to 7 on multiple computers

Hi and welcome to the Seven Forums.

The Windows EULA (End User License Agreement) is pretty straight forward: one valid license per computer. Anything else is piracy, in which you will receive no help here.

From http://www.sevenforums.com/general-d...ase-read.html:

4) No discussion of piracy or anything illegal is allowed at all. Such as software, music, videos and other intellectual property violations (e.g. downloading youtube videos locally etc).

If obtaining enough valid licenses is not possible, you need to either upgrade gradually, one PC at the time and the next when obtaining an additional license is possible, stay on XP or consider free alternatives (list of Linux distros).

I have some 50 computers in my network. We had installed Windows XP on them and most of them have 15 GB system partition. All the PCs have two partitions. One for OS and for user data. We are now migrating to Windows 7. but the problem is the system partition on each PC is very low to accomodate Windows 7 along with other applications like Office etc. We want to format the entire hard drive of each PC after taking backup of user data and want to allocate 30 GB for the Windows 7 partition. We want to do this through any automated way. Is there any way or imaging/deployement software available through which we can format the hard drives according to our needs and install Windows 7 and other applications with minimal efforts.

Thanks in advance.
Sorry for my poor English.

okay, my husband has all his computer stuff hooked up and running, trouble is he's always on it. I want to start my own business and need a computer of my very own. We only have one phone line and one modem. So I need to figure out how to hook my computer up to the same modem and phone line. Can you help me?

A:Multiple computers, one modem

may need to add another phoneline or go for a cable modem or dsl especially if you're using the second computer mainly for buisness running 2 computers on one 58 k slows things up a lot more over a phoneline and usually means one cab be connected at a given time plus some companirs only allow a certain amount of time til timer disconnect to allow for other users and you.ll have to wait so many hours before reconnecting
so if you absolutely need 2 or more computers connected sat the same time go for cable or dsl

I need help. That's why I'm here, right?

Here's the deal. We have DSL, using the phone company's modem, which is connected via ethernet cable to my AirPort Extreme base station. I use my Mac PowerBook G4 wirelessly and have great signal all over the whole house. The AirPort is in my husband's office at one end of the house.

Hubby works from home sometimes using his company's laptop (a pc) wirelessly, he gets great signal all over the house.

Hubby also has a pc laptop which he can use wirelessly more or less all over the house. He was getting a really bad signal anywhere other than the office where the AirPort is, so we got a Hawking antenna and that seems to have helped.

Here's where I need help. I am starting a work at home job where I will need to be hard wired. My office is upstairs, pretty close to just above his office. Would like to somehow maintain what we have as far as the wireless but also be able to hardwire his pc laptop from upstairs. If we have a second dsl jack put in by the phone company they will charge us for two dsl connections and we'd like to avoid this if possible.

Is there any way at all to accomplish this? Something we can do ourselves? We're both pretty tech savvy...

I thank y'all in advance

A:One AirPort, multiple computers

Pull an ethernet drop between the floors. Have the one end plugged into the AirPort and the other end terminated to a wall plate where your Hubby can just plug an ethernet patch cord into the jack from his laptop. Depending on wall access and such, this can be a relatively easy task to a pain in the rear.
