I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

There seems to be driver issue on video card. As soon as you fresh install, it works great for few hours, may be few days. After that, it crashed with blue screen.

If I go into safe mode and uninstall the display driver, sometimes it works other times, it doesn't

Any idea? is my laptop running too hot? how do I check the temp?

First time here, and now I really need some good advice.

I am the owner of a Sony VAIO VPCCW1S1E, and since start in January 2010 I have had some problems with crackling sound when playing audio or video. Over the last week things have gotten worse; the crackling sound won't stop. I've been reading several threads about the problem, and I realize that it's common. Obviously, I'm not alone. Some seem to get the problem solved in different ways, and others seem to struggle.

However, I've been trying some troubleshooting today by using DPC Latency Checker and atencyMon. I have found out that my graphic card NVidia GeForce GT 230M is the main problem. In LatencyMon driver file nvlddmkm.sys reaches highest execution value (>2.00), but also tcpip.sys, ndis.sys and ACPI.sys get high values (>1.00) in LatencyMon.

In DPC Latency Checker I get more red bars than green, and values are pending between 2000 and 25000um. When disabling, and also uninstalling the graphic card, the green bars will show up more frequently with values between 500-1000um. After reinstalling and upgrading NVidia things haven't get better. Actually, it seems to have gotten worse, and the crackling sound goes on. I have also upgraded BIOS, and reinstalled sound card drivers.

What to do now? Suggestions?

/Per, Sweden

A:DPC Latency/NVIDIA Graphic driver issue

I know nothing about your particular hardware, but when I have had problems with crackling sound, I was able to eliminate it by adjusting and/or reseating the cables in their connectors. I'm assuming that your audio and video work through the same HDMI connection, if not, then I don't know what to say.

Hi

I have Gateway m 6823 notebook, which came with WIndows Vista. I have downgraded from Vista to XP, and was very surprised that there were absolutely no drivers for XP on gateway website for this model. I have searched intel and other sites and found XP drivers that work fine on my notebook now. I got wireless card working, sound, touchpad, the motherboard chipset driver and etc.

Now i have also downloaded Intel Video Driver Version: 7.14.10.1283. Which is actually works on this machine. I can now choose from many different resolution in display settings, and the stand by option available, and picture itself is clear. But there is a huge problem. The screen is too dark. What is the issue?

It is not a hardware problem, monitor is ok. Once I uninstall the driver it is bright as usual. Adjusting the brightness with FN combination has no affect. I tried also installing older versions of this driver but same issue. It is still dark. The only way to adjust brightness is in driver utility itself, but that is not doing what it supposed to do.

Please help. I need you help.

Thanks you guys.

A:Windows XP video/graphic driver issue!

You have probably done all that can be done. If you can't find the correct driver, or the one you have is not adjustable, then you may have to deal with a dark screen, or remove it and deal with the reduced resolution. If Gateway had no drivers, it is because this model was never sold with XP and there was no need. No one is making many new drivers for an operating system that is almost 10-years-old and been replaced by 2 generations of new operating systems.

It is surprising when XP even supports some new hardware since its kernel was designed before this new hardware even existed.

Hi, i'm experimenting problems with graphic card driver. When i install the driver (both the Lenovo suggested one and the Intel one), the screen become black and i can listen the sound of a disconnected device. Then, after every boot, i can't see anything on the display. I installed windows from zero and i haven't installed any other third party software, the only operation i've done after the installation is the Windows' update and Lenovo's drivers update. I tried also to install graphic card driver in safeboot mode, and the installation completes, thus i think the problem depends on conflicts between drivers. I also tried to install old Intel driver, but the problem persists. The first time it happend was in June, during a Windows' update. After that, the only "solution" i found to see the screen is to restore the Microsoft basic driver. I can't figure out if the problem depends on Windows or on Lenovo's drivers. Any solution?Thank you.

I am running windows Vista. I have just reformated and then I literally started getting graphic card errors *Note was working perfectly fine before hand!!!!*, so I don't think it's the graphics card. After installing Vista *At this time I am running on onboard graphics*, I installed the installation disc that came with the card, and then the most recent drivers. But when I restart to ocmplete driver installation, I get BIOS beeps *2 short, 1 long* which indicates a video error *can someone give me more information on this*. Since it didn't work I decided to reformat again this time installing a later version of the graphic drivers 186, *which I know are stable from when I know I used before I reformated*, and still no luck. The thing again, which I must emphasize, is it was working 100% *no troubles at all* before I reformatted which was yesterday, and my display is connected and coming from my graphics card. I go to device manager and I get error code 43 can someone also get me more in-depth information on this as well as the BIOS beeps.

Much appreciated, and I hope to god it isn't my graphics card

Hey, I recently put together a PC and I've been having problems with it since. When I initially built it, the specs were:

i7 920 2.67GHz
Asus p6t Motherboard
8gb RAM
500gb Sata II HD
ATI Radeon HD 3870x2 (the card with with 2 GPU's)
500W unbranded PSU
1 added 120m coolermaster fan

Shortly after I started using my PC there was a power surge that knocked the power supply out. I recently got a new power supply. A 650W Silverstone PSU that I thought was more than enough for this. The problem that would occur now is that the computer would restart during games and sometimes while processing/rendering videos in adobe premiere.

When I would enable the 'crossfire' option on my card (to enable both GPU's to work) the computer would no longer just 'restart' the entire screen would hang or the colours would go out of sync shortly after which I'd have to restart the computer. This having happened I assumed the problem was with the graphics card, not the new 650W silverstone I got. I upgraded to a newer card; Asus Nvidia Geforce GTX460 768mb. The specs are now as follows:

i7 920 2.67GHz
Asus p6t Motherboard
8gb RAM
500gb Sata II HD
Asus Nvidia Geforce GTX460 768mb
650W silverstone PSU
1 added 120m coolermaster fan

After upgrading, games like modern warfare 2 will restart in missions that has a lot of smoke, during a standard windows assessment process the computer will also restart.

There is no overheating issue, the te... Read more

A:PC restart during graphic-intensive tasks. PSU issue? GPU issue? Mobo issue?

You've got Asus motherboard, hence the first thing I'll look at considering the issues you are having, is at RAM settings/voltage in the board's BIOS, these should be exactly the same as on RAM packaging, but even that doesn't guarantee that it may not be the issue, so basically you'll need to fiddle around a bit with settings/voltage in case default specs doesn't work.

You may also consider stress testing your graphic card using OCCT (including vRam). Regards

A:Graphic Card Driver (you must install intel driver first)

Hi Serious Gamer,

You could try running the Intel Driver Update Utility. Completely safe directly from the Intel site, it should find any drivers that our out of date and update them. Intel® Driver Update Utility

I know you said you ran multiple programs like that and if you've already tried that one, just let me know. I was trying to find a specifications sheet about your friends laptop, best I could find was this. Product data-sheet Toshiba Satellite L70-A-13P notebooks (PSKNEE-03X02WFR)

Does his laptop have the discrete graphics card or the on-board graphics?

Hi, i have Lenovo G570 with GPU AMD RADEON HD 6370m I want to install - latest drivers for your laptop, but drivers who are on the Lenovo website are too old and those in the AMD website incompatible if anybody has a clue how to install new drivers let me share.
Sorry for my english

A:Graphic driver

For laptops, only the laptop manufacturer has the correct drivers because their drivers are custom-made to match the custom-made hardware (that's why drivers direct from AMD's website aren't compatible). There is no way around this.

What's wrong with the existing graphics driver anyway? If it works okay, leave it alone. Updating drivers is not compulsory!
Don't assume that newer drivers are always better so you must install them. They can often cause problems where none existed before.

If Lenovo don't have a newer graphics driver, that means your existing one is up to date.

I've also tried to search for a new version of my BIOS, and there isnt one.

I've got the latest Directx.

When I was installing graphic driver Win 10 mentioned the graphic driver installed on the system is newer to the driver you are installing. I guess it was Win 10 included graphic driver. I continued installing my graphic driver.

Should I uninstall my graphic driver & let Windows Updates to update the graphic driver that it mentioned was newer than mine?

Hi,

You may simply need to select a higher resolution to get your normal display back.
Right click on your desktop -> Select Properties -> In the Display Properties, select Settings and try increasing the Screen resolution.

If that doesn't work, you can find the drivers for that Latitude here:

http://support.dell.com/support/dow...en&SystemID=LAT_PNT_P3_C400&catid=-1&impid=-1

The graphics (video) drivers are at the bottom of the list, installing the latest ones should restore your display to its normal setting again.

The one oddity is when this issue occurs and I go into the nvidiadrivers setting the mouse pointer seems to blink frequently when I go over theblue setting selections that are in their driver settings software. I have notnoticed other problems in any other software (COD works fine). I had their techguy on and he was of no help (what a shocker) they logged into my comp andbasically he said he saw it on his end as well. I was wondering if you guys mayhave any ideas.

Hello, I really need someones help here!

For the last few weeks I have been attempting to diagnose an issue with my PC! It used to run more or less any game without fail, I could even often play on the highest settings... But recently? Everything seems to either flash, flicker or stretch out the textures!

Here are some videos of the games with their respective issues:

Skyrim: Skyrim choppy/flicker issue - YouTube (Beware: If watched non-sober you may puke!)
Star Wars: Force Unleashed II: Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II Graphic Issue - YouTube
The Sims 3: The Sims 3 graphical issue - YouTube

As you can see, they all have their own issues... I decided to try some old games and the first two I tried were GTA Vice City and San Andreas.

Vice City was very normal, and not much to mention, but San Andreas had the same issue as the Sims 3 and Skyrim just to a lesser extent!

Here is San Andreas: GTA San Andreas slight flicker? - YouTube

After it first happened I assumed it was that the graphics card had needed a driver update, so I done that and restarted the game... and it had the same issue! Tried pretty much everything to fix it up to the point where I gave up and done a full destructive restore to factory settings, after hours of screwing around doing that I put in a game and... exactly same as it was before the restore!

Finally, I was talking to a friend of mine about the issue, and he is very into PC's and even builds and repairs them on his spare time, he lives t... Read more

Hello,

I'm having a problem that appeared one morning. I didn't install/remove anyting before, it just happened.

The problem :
I see graphics problems when i'm playing games, when i'm surfing on the web or even watching a movie. It can go from the windows task bar going all pink to a complete black screen (for 1 second). I even have , sometimes, the blue screen and it automaticly reboots.

my hardware :
cpu : C2D e6600
ram : 2GB of DDR
G.card : Geforce 8800 GTS 320mb
OS : windows 7 rc 7100 64bits (only that one, I don't dual boot)

I was using 185.xx driver and I thought updating that would fix my problems.
So I've unistalled them , then reboot and my PC freeze when I'm trying to install the latest one. Forcing me to restart my computer (and it automaticly install some old driver 181.xx , I think).
After a few try, I manage to install the latest drivers.

Yet, I always have the same graphics problems and always this message appears :

It says that the driver wasn't responding and it was "restore".

I'm writing from the same OS but in safe mode with network and I don't see any graphic problem so far.

If you have any idea what is the problem and how to fix it , thanks.
I can only wonder if problem comes from :
. windows 7 alone ?
. my graphic card is dying ?
. Nvidia driver broke ?

I don't have any other computer with Windows7 OS. Don't have any extra graphic card to test.

Thank you.
Sando

Hi, I have recently installed Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit,and I have several problems listed below:

1. My games are lagging like crazy, can't move the character, even the older games like CS 1.6, Half-Life 2, Tomb Raider Legend, Sims 2...

2. When I had aero effects on, some random pieces of open windows and taskbar flickering, but removed when I put the Windows 7 Basic theme on.
So I was wondering, is this because of the driver, because everything was working fine when I had XP installed, and is there a way to fix it???

P.S. I have chatted with an NVIDIA support technician, and he said that I perform a clean installation of the driver, which I did, but nothing still.

A:Need help with Graphic Card driver

Have you performed a clean install of the Windows 7 or you upgraded from XP?
I usually suggest to make clean OS installs so possible errors might be avoided. If you didn't upgrade, try using Driver Sweeper and then make sure you install the proper drivers for your videocard: 7600GS - Windows 7 x32 drivers.

Hey everybody, ill give some background information first, my computer was getting very slow and had alot of software installed on it, so like an idiot i decided i was competent enough to reinstall windows with this cd i borrowed of my neighbour, i installed windows, installed a network driver, so far so good, i then proceed to try and install a graphics driver, i had no idea which one i needed, the amd website is so confusing and complicated, i downloaded the very first driver i saw on their new releases table, im sure its not the right one, i then download a game called Runescape, and its client kept telling me my graphics drivers are 1300 days out of date or something like that, i messed around some more, accidentally uninstalled my display driver completely and ended up having to do a system restore. I should probably mention that AMD's auto driver detect would not work.

If somebody could please help me find the right driver i need and help me uninstall the current one i have, i will be forever in your debt. thank you

A:Graphic Driver help needed please

Go to this page and look under Automatically Detect and Install Your Driver. Click on the download button to get the executable that'll interrogate your system and find the correct drivers. However, when you've downloaded the new package, make sure you've uninstalled the previous drivers and rebooted the PC before running the setup.

So I recently reformatted my computer after a bunch of problems surfaced and I did my best to update all my drivers and settings but now I get lag when scrolling in my browser of choice. I immediately went to my drivers and tried to update my graphic ones and it gives me an error upon downloading. Gave me a blue screen with white text stating there was a problem and giving me this - "Stop: 0x0000007E (0xC0000005, 0x8052A8F8, 0xF7A750C8, 0xF7A74DC4)". In device manager it says under Display Adapters - Video Controller (VGA Compatible) and has the yellow ! so I attempted to update from there to no avail. I'm running on a Dell Precision M90 with XP and have been updating my drivers from HERE but every time its the same. I discovered I needed the 1500m download but tried the 3500m one as well just in case. Even tried other sites including Nvidia's. I tried to use Nvidia download and it says "The graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware". Pretty sure I got the 1500m one, used this LINK

Updating my drivers was the first thing I did after reinstalling so I don't think it was anything conflicting.

Any idea what could be causing it or how to get around it?

Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Whenever I try to watch any video, play game or use google talk, then I get this message saying "The igxprd32 display driver has stopped working normally. Save your work and reboot the system to restore full display functionality. The next time you reboot the machine a dialog will be displayed giving you a chance to upload data about this failure to Microsoft."

After this the screen goes to 640 × 480 in resolution and the colors are also in 4bit (lowest). I am using Intel Graphic Media Accelerator.

If I remember correct it was version 2.11.15.0

If there's any update or anything that I can do to cure this problem. Please help me.

Thanks.

my graphic card is nvidia geforce4 mx 420. problem: flt sim flickers. i downloaded nvidia update (detonator ) driver and found dell also has an update for geforce 4 - r50582.exe. which of these is preferable and do i simply delete geforce 4 from device manager before install? please advise.

A:graphic display driver

Hi norco

Do not delete your Geforce4 adapter from device manager, unless you are craving some extra grief today
(actually, I don't think you can delete it from there, but you can disable it.)

You can most likely use either driver, they are probably the same ( or very close). I'd go with the Dell driver, I assume that is your make of computer? That way if anything goes wrong you can blame them! (Oh, wait, it was my suggestion, though...Hmmm...)

It's not uncommon for the display to get screwed up after a video driver install, you may have to reset the desktop color bit, screen resolution, and perhaps the adapter refresh rate.

If you are running WindowsXP, it has a handy driver rollback feature if you have problems and want to go back to the previous driver.
