Q: T430s wi-fi connectivity issue - wireless radio is currently off

I have T430s. My wifi does not work any more, it suddenly stopped working. Should I fix my hardware switch, did not find any tutorial as to how to do it or Should I replace my wireless network card? Any help would be greatly apprecaited. ThanksSantosh Jami

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Hi Santosh Jami,

Welcome to Lenovo Community!

You have performed almost all the troubleshooting steps for that, can you also check with reseating the Wifi card once.

So the Internet on my T430s recently stopped working, and every time I try to troubleshoot I'm told to turn on wireless capability using my wireless switch, which is definitely in the on position. (I've even tried turning it to the off position just in case I'm really stupid and have them mixed up, but no Internet there either.) What I've done so far: 1) Fn+F5 gives me the message "The hardware wireless radio switch must be in the on position to use the wireless radios," which is unhelpful since it's in the on position. 2) Going into Device Manager and checking Network Adapters tells me that I have 4 adapters, and the Properties menu for all 4 says that "This device is working properly." I'm not sure which one is being used for my main connection, but all the ones listed say they're working. 3) I did some Googling and found some random sources that said you could use BIOS to override the hardware switch and turn wireless on. Wasn't able to find anything, so I'm wondering whether that doesn't apply for the T430s. Not super familiar with BIOS so I might be using it totally wrong. 4) I opened the computer up to take a look at the wireless radio switch. Didn't see anything clearly wrong with it, but I doubt I'd be able to detect a visible problem even if one were present.  So yeah, I'd appreciate if someone could help me with the issue. I'd prefer to solve it on the software side of things, so if someone could tell me a way to override the hardw... Read more

I have a brand new computer. I am living in a house with 3 other people. We use a wireless internet router (Linksys BEFW11S4). I had no problem connecting to it for several weeks. All of a sudden I can't. Everyone else still can, just not me.

My computer sees the wireless network, and it says it has excellent signal strength, but it can't connect. If I use the repair function I get a message saying that it was "unable to assign an IP address".

Nothing has changed. The WPA password remains the same as it always has. It's just all of a sudden that I can't connect. Now if I connect an ethernet cord from the router to my computer I get connected. And if I got to school (or try to connect to the open network down the block) I can get on with no problem. The issue seems to be this router/network specifically. I can't understand why that would be, but needless to say it's incredibly frustrating.

I am using an Intel Pro/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection on a brand new IBM Think Pad Z61t. Can anyone help me out? Thanks.

Hi Guys,

Last saturday me and my dad bought this new samsung NP350V4C laptop. The specs are nice and all but the whole week I'm having connectivity issues with it (Pardon me, I'm not that knowledgeable with tinkering with computer settings and such). So my problem is that my laptop can detect and connect to our home wireless network (through TP-Link WR740N) but cannot identify it and give me internet access. What I do (to connect me to the our wifi) is that I reset my router by accessing it through a web browser or pushing the on/off button at the back of the router...... and that seems to fix the problem.. temporarily. But it does not end there, if I restart/hibernate/sleep/shut down my laptop or just simply disconnecting/reconnecting the wifi, I find myself facing the cycle of "identifying wireless network" process and "no internet access" again, so, I need to restart my router all over just so I could use the internet on my laptop. My sister's macbook, our ipads, my ps3, are all connected wirelessly with no problems but this laptop of mine is the only one facing this issue... any help?

I'm also having this same problem. Have tried every suggestion proffered here to no avail. Running Windows XP SP2 (in Bootcamp on MacBook running Leopard), connecting to D-Link wireless ADSL 2+ Router. This same computer connects flawlessly in Mac OS X.

As soon as I boot up in Windows XP, however, the wireless connection shows up, indicates that my computer is connected to it, and that there is strong signal, but weak or no connectivity. On attempting to repair the connection, it informs me that the IP could not be acquired. The computer's IP shows up as 169.254.13.16, a private IP. My Dell laptop (also running Windows XP SP2 and connecting to the same D-Link router), on the other hand, connects without any hitch, and shows an IP of 192.168.1.3. Indeed it shows up in the router window under DHCP clients, whereas the bootcamp computer does not show up at all in the router window.

Have attempted to manually change the IP to connect to the router as 192.168.1.7, but this also is not working. The router is set to WEP (I know, it's lame), I've double-triple checked the key is correct.

As far as I know (or am informed by the computer when I attempted to update the driver to a more recent version), the driver is the correct version: Atheros AR5008 wireless network adapter, driver date 6/16/2007, v. 6.0.3.94.

On trying to "repair this connection", Windows tries to renew the IP, and reports "Windows could not finish repairing the problem because... Read more

Hello,

Recently, I have been experiencing an issue with maintaining connection when my wireless laptop is near my Linksys router. The connection continues failing when close to the router, but I stay connected whenever I move away from it.

My laptop is an HP Pavilion running Windows Vista...I am using a Linksys WRT110 wireless router which has the latest firmware update installed. My WIFI adapter is a Broadcom 4322AG...which has the current drivers installed.

I have my router set to channel 11...the least traffic in my area is using this channel. The RSSI number runs between ( -65 to -75) when away from the router, & about -38 RSSI when sitting next to the router.

Just wondering if anyone has experienced a similar situation & perhaps offer a solution.

Thanks,
Mike

Hello.

I got a new laptop from Italy with a pre-installed Windows in Italian, I re-installed the Windows and everything works fine except for the Wireless network.
I have installed the Network Adapter driver, but it doesn't see any Wireless connections.
It says "No connections are available".
I can connect fine via cable or 3G Modem, but not through Wi-Fi.
The Wireless signal is ON, yet when I troubleshoot the Wireless Network Connection I get the message:

Windows cannot resolve your wireless connectivity issue.
*after I click Next*
Problem found: Problem with wireless adapter or acces point Detected!

I've been reading various forums, but so far nothing has worked.
Can someone, please, help me?

Thank you very much.

barring that it sounds to me like you may have gotten the wrong driver, but it's just close enough for the device to detect.
Would help to have more specific information regarding the the hardware in question.

Hi All

I have a Linksys Wireless ADSL Router and when I try and connect using the wireless adapter I get a message saying limited or no connectivity, however I have a different laptop which connects without any problems.

When I disable the WPA security on the router I can connect no problems...

Any advise would be helpful.

A:Wireless Connectivity Issue

Make sure you have the latest driver for the wireless adapter. Does it support WPA?

Any chance of wireless interference (e.g., 2.4Ghz cordless phone or another network on the same or close channel)? Sometimes interference has a bigger negative impact on secured networks.

I start quickbooks and it literally just starts... no waiting for 1 min.  Heck, I boot the computer and I can be online in 15 seconds.  Games are crazy fast too...  Technology rocks. Symptoms: Anyway, I'm having a frustrating issue.  My internet connection "seems" to stop while I'm surfing the web occasionaly and it's typically when no one else is home with me and no devices other than my laptop are online.  Chrome or IE will not connect to anything and even my scanner software reports that it's no longer connected.  The other crazy thing is the wireless bars remain high and the wireless never says it's disconnected. It happened once two weeks ago.  And for the past 3 days has been happening at least 2x per day.  The only way to fix this is to restart the computer--which is just not practical as I have to save everything and reopen etc... I've installed no out of the ordinary programs: Office, Quickbooks, Guild Wars 2, Google DriveI've not let windows update any drivers--only updates and drivers are not allowed to be installed through update. I imm... Hello

I can't find a solution to my wireless issue (as I seem to be the only one with it) where my computer takes about 2 minutes (sometimes longer) to connect to any wireless router every time I wake it up from sleep mode or turn on/restart it. This has happened ever since I updated my Intel PROSet/Wireless driver. Trying to troubleshoot the problem myself, I disabled everything that has to do with Intel PROSet/Wireless services and noticed that my wireless connection still works without it. It was a while ago when I updated the drivers and have been unable to fix the problem since then (Uninstalling PROSet/Wireless made my wireless adapter not work, saying it did not have any drivers installed). I wish to get this issue resolved so I can easily fix the next ones.

Hello:

I have tried to get this working before, but I still keep coming back to the same problem. I am connected to a wireless network at a friends house, and for some reason, I can't download large files (400MB) or stay online for very long periods of time before my connection cuts out. I can usually reconnect within seconds, but the download gets screwed up.

Also, I can't seem to connect to any games that are hosted over this network.

In short, my internet connection is intermittent, but only in this network. My wireless network at home works fine and the one at school works well too, so maybe it is just a ProTools setting or something? Can anyone help me with this?

Thanks.

Oh yeah, There are two other guys with wireless desktops connected to this network and they have no problems.

I have seen issues similar to what I am experiencing, but haven't found a solution that has worked for me. I have an HP dv7 that I purchased just over a year ago. Of course my warranty has expired by 70 days. I just started having an issue with connecting to my wireless network this morning. I have had issues previously where the adapter was just not enabled, but now when I try to enable it, it sits in "attempting to authenticate". I have a Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6250 AGN driver. I have tried rolling it back with no luck. I've restarted everything multiple times and also did a restore to 2 weeks ago. So far nothing has worked. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi technomann,

Have you tried using different browsers - Firefox, Chrome?

Have you tried a wired connection to the router and see if you're able to replicate the issue?

For now, disable any Startup Apps that are not needed to run and see if that helps.
Click on Start and type msconfig then press enter, locate Start up Tab and uncheck unnecessary Apps running here.

Please post an update.

A few weeks ago, My internet provided (WOW, or Wide Open West) had a DNS outage. My roommates were able to change their DNS so that they could restore internet connectivity. I, on the other hand, had no such luck. I've tried the following:

-Using Google's DNS (8.8.8.8., and 8.8.4.4 as the alternate)
-Uninstalling/re-installing all wireless adapted drivers and utilities
-I've used multiple adapters, and all have had the same issue

Here are some details:

My IP is WOW
The modem supplied by Wow is an Arris DG950, and I have an apple airport extreme as the router
Anti-virus and firewall have been disabled
The wireless adapter that I'm currently using is an asus EZ N
Doing a system restore seems to fix the issue, but never permanently. It always seems to happen when I shut my computer down.

If I need to submit any more info in order to assist, just let me know and I'll be glad to do so.

A:Limited Connectivity issue (wireless)

get the wireless connection details (gateway, dns, dhcp, wins, etc) so u would right click ur wireless connection that you are connected to and click on details and do a print screen to that. DNS servers won't allow you to resolve any host to ip address or vice versa but doesn't really stop you from getting an IP address since that's what the DHCP server is for, give me this info and ill bear with you to help you figure this out.

Hello all,

Despite having searched your site and trying to follow directions given to other members to similar problems, I have been unable to solve my connectivity issues.

Here's the rundown:

Salvaged Compaq running on donor hardware
1 GB RAM
2.7 gHz proc
XP SP 3

It was a kid's computer with an outrageous amount of games and programs on it, and in my remove program, start-up altering, and virus deleting happy mood I fear I may have deleted something important. However, after doing a restore for two days ago when it was working, it still didn't connect.

I undid the restore. Tried resetting the TCP/IP settings using "netsh winsock reset catalog" & "netsh int ip reset reset.log"

Doing that reset helped the machine along from "limited or no connectivity" to "connected."

Bad news, still cant connect to any sites, 0 packets recieved.

Hi,

Several other computers in the house I have lived in can connect with no problems. I have tried to update drivers and install AVG (payed version). None of this helped so I bought a new wireless dongle by NETGEAR (WNDA3100) and for a short time everything worked perfectly. Then the old problems started to occur. I used to get error messages from diagnostics about DNS issues. Now I only get either/both network cable is damaged or unplugged and cannot find default gateway. Sometimes it just comes up with cannot connect. My speed varies from nothing up to about 20 mbps. I have good signal strength. Hi Guys, I recently got my NETGEAR N150 (150MB/s Wireless USB Adapter) today as my computer has no Wireless card built in. It can connect but after time it suddenly drops. I think if I get 300MB/s it will boost the signal range. I get a really slow speed too, the computer is in my bedroom and the Router is in the Kitchen and I can not move the computer - so that might be an issue but my iPhone can connect but occasionally I will have to renew the lease.

And my previous Netbook worked until some time until a certain point :/

If the Adapter stops working, to fix it, I unplug and plug it back in.

The Router I have is a VirginMedia 10MB/s NETGEAR DGN1000SP. I am thinking about getting a High Performance N600 Adapter instead as that has better connectivity and avoids interference, etc.

What do you guys suggest I do.
Thanks for your help.

Hi, I'm having a weird problem with Vista Home Premium (32bit).

Background
About 10 days ago, I came home from a trip to discover that my wireless connection on my Vista desktop had gone down. I restarted the computer, and when that didn't solve the problem, I restarted my wireless router. This usually fixes things, but this time it didn't - so I tried uninstalling ZoneAlarm free firewall. This didn't work either, so I tried disabling the Windows Firewall, releasing IPv6 & IPv4 through NETSH, running IPCONFIG, etc (everything that I could find on forums related to the topic).

I even bought a new a new USB wireless adapter and this didn't work either. I can view all of the WiFi hotspots in the neighborhood (and the detailed information such as encryption types) but I can't connect to them (or my own hotspot). I can connect but I get the "Connected with Limited Access" error.

When I try "netsh interface show interface", I get the following (condensed):

LAN 2 - Disconnected
Wireless Network Connection - Connected

However, when I run ipconfig /all, I get this:

I think it might be your router or either your ISP. First check the router configuration and if something in it is causing the problem. Next contact your internet service provider and see if there a issue with them.

This problem has me at my wit's end so I thank you vigorously in advance for any help you might be able to provide.

First, the technical specs. My ISP is Road Runner through Time Warner with a Surfboard SB4100 cable modem. I have the above mentioned Belkin wireless router updated to the latest firmware. There are two computers that use the connection.

Mine:
Toshiba Satellite A105-S4014 w/Windows XP SP 3 and an Intel (R) 3945ABG wireless card that is factory original.

Girlfriend's:
HP Pavilion w/Windows Vista (hers is NOT having a problem so not as detailed here).

I have WPA+WPA2 PSK security enabled, channel is set on router and in my wireless settings to 11, protected mode is on, and all other settings are factory default except for things like time zone.

The problem is that I have intermittent bouts of no/low connectivity. Using an Ethernet cable during these periods results in connectivity being restored. This problem oftentimes manifests after my computer goes into screen saver mode. Disconnecting from the network and reconnecting fixes the problem. If I try to ping the router during one of these periods wirelessly it results in a time out. My wireless driver is current, power management is set to highest, and the computer is not allowed to turn the device off to save power.

I think that is all relevant information. If anything else is needed, let me know and I will provide it.

It just happened while I was making this post! Having my network connectio... Read more

Hello,

Recently I have been experiencing recurring internet connectivity issues. Roughly every 30 minutes, my laptop will report limited connectivity to my home's wireless network and I will lose internet access. Disconnecting and reconnecting to the wireless network will allow me to temporarily regain internet access (up until my computer inevitably loses its internet connection again due to the limited connectivity issue). This issue appeared suddenly, but I suspect it might be due to a virus of some kind (as I have neither installed any software recently nor have I tampered with my computer's internet settings). I also believe the wireless network is fully functional as I am able to access internet at all times using other computers and wifi devices (even when my laptop is reporting limited connectivity). I ran a Norton 360 Full System Scan and a Malwarebytes Anti-malware scan but to no avail.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Try to set static IP and check if the issues exists after. Try also disabling power managment of Wifi card in Device manager, I doubt that is the issue but can't  do no harm.

Hello,
I have run into a problem with my Dell XPS 13 9350 laptop. I was deleting and uninstalling a few programs, hardware, files etc., when I accidentally uninstalled something that cut the connection between my laptop and modem. I have not been able to reconnect to the router, and my Dell USB multi-adapter is not with me so I cannot hard-wire an Ethernet cable the laptop, and have no connection to the internet. Any suggestions?

A:Dell XPS 13 9350 - wireless Wifi connectivity issue

Hi,
Thank you for writing to the Dell Community Forum.
The Dell XPS 13 9350 system goes with two different options of wireless card. The Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260 and the Dell Wireless 1820A. Use another system and please go to the our support site using this link http://dell.to/1TvnfOs, enter the service tag of the system. Under original system configuration, check for the wireless card. Then click on Driver and Downloads, choose the operating system. Click on the Network and download the file, transfer it on to a USB drive. Use this drive on the Dell XPS 13 9350 system, install the driver and check the status. You may also check the device manager to see, if there is any ! or ? mark in the list.
Kindly get back if there are any further queries.
For me to better assist in troubleshooting, please click my DELL-username and send me a Private Message with the Dell Service Tag number and your email address.

Ok so first things first--hi, I'm new here, 24, a chick, etc. <insert generic yet witty & brief introductory statement here>

My cousin has to have one of the most perplexing wireless connections issues I've ever heard of. It's been a shapeshifter or has occurred simultaneously with other issues and masqueraded beneath them as they were repaired for at least a year now. It has persisted to different extents throughout the change of wiring, modems, laptops, routers, even bandwidth caps [she lives in Canada and has an account with Rogers].
She is hopeless when it comes to figuring out her own technical problems, as is her father even though he himself is an IT auditor. At the moment I do not have the model # of the new router they just 5 days ago, but it is a Linksys, as was the former router they exchanged it for [it was under warantee] which was also only a few months old. I can get it and will get it, but in total desperation tonight all the way in Florida trying to help her with her problem by gathering info to tell her tomorrow I decided to just vomit up the general details of the problem to give you guys a framework of deduction.
Sigh. This is going to be complicated. I will do it in steps.

1. The house has two laptops set up on Rogers wireless network, Rogers sucks btw I'm so glad I'm not Canadian because they monopolize things up there but anyway, with a modem and a router. I'd like to tell you conclusively whether or not it... Read more

Ok, How do I get this T430s to recognise ONLY the nVidia graphics? I have it set to nVidia only in the BIOS, However, this thing INSISTS on using the pathetic HD4000 graphics when trying to play a game. This was easy to do for the T420. Why wont this work for the T430s? What I've done:Install ONLY the nVidia graphics drivers.... I still wants to use the "generic" VGA driver for everything. It forces me to use the nVidia panel to list games for use with the nVidia graphics. This doesn't always work. Is there a fix for this nightmare?

Hi, I encounter the following issues with my Thinkpad T430s:- sometimes the mouse pointer starts moving on its on, always towards the same direction and always at the same speed. Rebooting temporarily resolves the issue until it occurs again. Reducing the sensitivity in the driver software does not have any impact. Pressing the trackpoint and letting go does nothing to stop it. - the left mouse button acts like a weird combination of a left click + some function that brings up context menus, if available (e.g. on desktop). This happens using the trackpoint, touchpad and sometimes even when using an external mouse. - Right mouse button does not function at all. No matter what function is assigned to it in the driver software, it does not work. External mouse works. All this ONLY happens if the trackpoint is ENABLED in BIOS. If I disabled the trackpoint in the BIOS, touchpad and all mouse buttons work fine. I tried Windows 10 and Windows 7. The problems occur under both operating systems using different driver software. Therefore, I do believe this to be a hardware issue. Anyone has experienced this issues and knows a good way to fix it? Thanks in advance!

Recently I have been gifted with a T430S Thinkpad on which I made a fresh installation of Windows 7 Home. From time to time the mouse has a strange behavior : it operates fine except to scroll in dropdown lists. I have to use the keybord to do that an select an item. When it happens the touch pad doesn't work anymore. Switching  with an other mouse doesn't solve the problem. I have to stop and restart the laptop to recover the normal behavior of the mouse. Installing last drivers from Lenovo download center had no effect. It seems other users encountered a similar issue. Some of them got rid of it after a BIOS upgrade. Infortunately  I didn't find any BIOS to download. The only files avalaibable are just utilities to install a new BIOS. Mine is 2.05 dated 12/11/2012. So my question is where to get a more recent BIOS and do you think an update will fix the issue. Thanking you in advance

I have  bought Lenovo T430s laptop recently. The main problem is that it came win Ubuntu OS. I formated all the partition data and tried to install Windows 7. There was a "A required CD/DVD drive driver is missing" issue, where a windows prompts asking me to point the directory where to load that driver. It's on that step, where I should select where to install the drive, so I tought it was the HDD drivers. I tried with UEFI/Legacy tricks such as forcing my BIOS to use UEFI only or LEGACY only. I also tried to change the HDD options from AHCI to Compatability and many variations. Well at first time, i tried with putting the chipset drivers to usb disk and point the driver then uncheck the "Hide drivers that are not compatible with my computer" and tried to force it use my drivers. Tried with different drivers and every time I got stuck to the same problem. Then I tried with Windows 8 and Windows 10, It just installed without problem. Later I had issue with my Cooling Fan. It stoped working, So i returned my laptop to the shop, where I bought the laptop. They said that they sent it to a service and the service changed the HDD and the motherboard. The HDD was Seagate 320GB, now it is HITACHI 320GB. The motherboard is changed, because previous motherboard had Compatibility options, that was suited for windows 8, now it's gone (may be old BIOS chip/software or newer, I dont' know, my BIOS version is 2.7). So after I got my laptop back (repaired) I got it with new H... A:T430s Windows 7 Installation Issue

Hi,

You need to add the USB 3.0 drivers to the WIndows 7 installation media.  There are several threads on this topic here on the forums.  It can be done manually (a real pain...) or with one of several OEM tools.

Here's the Intel one:  https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25476/Windows-7-USB-3-0-Creator-Utility

You may also need to make the flash drive UEFI-bootable if that's you preferred installation mode.  That involves some file manipulation, but not a complete rebuild of the media.

I've had my t430s for almost a year now and have been basically happy with it/no issues thus far. However, this morning I went to boot it up and it's completely unresponsive - no lights when plugged into A/C, no fan whir, nothing.  I've already tried the 30 sec power drain trick, verified the charger works, used an alternate lenovo charger(from a t430),removed the battery, both RAM cards, SSD, CMOS and attempted to identify the issue using the various steps recommended in the user guide, but to no avail.I suspect this to be a MB issue or possibly power socket related.  Alas the laptops factory warranty expired in June as it was purchased secondhand(and registered by me after purchase).  Any and all suggestions would be appreciated.

A:T430s won't power on - possible motherboard issue?

Well, I have replaced quite a few power jacks on T420s/T430s machines, but if that were the problem, you would have gotten low-battery warnings ahead of time.  When you disconnected the CMOS battery, did you let it sit a few seconds before plugging it back in?  I always let it sit for 5 seconds and then I press the power button 2 or 3 times before putting it back.  This drains all the capacitors.  (I assume you know that the main battery also needs to be out and the machine unplugged.)

As this is my first post,  Hello all! I'm a longtime Thinkpad user, appreciating my previous T60 and T400 for their repairability and durability.  I've just bought a used thinkpad t430s, and I bought a battery for it as it didn't come with one. My issue is, the battery worked fine the first couple times I used it, but now it drains instantly if I unplug from the wall. After I restart the machine, the battery says 0% (charging), and after a short while (10+ minutes) returns to claiming fully charged (100%). So far, I have updated the bios, installed the lenovo power management software, installed the lenovo power management driver, tried removing the microsoft acpi driver without the battery in, then turning off and trying to start on battery  (no luck turns off immediately as well, critical low battery error). I also did this thing someone recommended for battery trouble where you shut down the computer and remove the power sources, then hold down the power button for a minute. The battery health is good, it has had three charge cycles, and this number isn't going up with my little drop downs to 0% and back up to 100% whenever I unplug the machine. I would like help in figuring out if this is a problem with the battery, hardware, or software of the computer. I am running windows 7 pro 64 SP1. i7-3520M @2.9ghz. Thanks in advance!  Ryan

Hi and welcome, moreryanIs the battery Lenovo genuine, has Lenovo FRU p/n?Have you get it from the Lenovo related store?Could you make a snapshot of the battery surface labels with quality enough to recognize labels, symbols? As you can't publish images here, in the post yet, provide an external link. Also, as your OS is win7 and I hope Lenovo Power Manager application is installed, what are the values of the second half of the battery parameters (manufacturer name and followed) PM shows in the Battery tab? Make a snapshot as well.Answers and images are needed to understand whether the battery is faked since the battery for T430 should have HW authentication.

On 10/18/17 MS Article Stated: "Microsoft is working on a resolution and will provide an update in an upcoming release of the security patch. This is expected to be available in another 2-3 weeks or earlier."

For Issue:

Hello,

Seems that you've done all sorts of troubleshooting. Have you tried opening up the case and see if the card can be taken out then reseat it properly? Careful though, you don't want to damage the Motherboard.

Is your laptop still under warranty? Might want to call Lenovo Support.
If not, perhaps shop for a new Wi-Fi adapter.

Hey everyone, New here...

I have a Dell Inspiron laptop with Vista Basic. I purchased a Netgear wireless router and had no problems after the install yesterday. I also downloaded an Anti virus program the same day since my protection expired recently. Now my computer froze last night so I turned it off before going to work. When I get home this morning I went to turn on the computer and it froze after I logged in.

After trying numerous times and using safe mode I was finally able to get past the log in screen, because the computer had to restore itself to a prior day's settings. Problem is now my wireless card is turned off, the "fn" and "f2" key are not turning it back on... any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Hello, I have been having a problem recently with my desktop's wireless connections. I know the hardwire connections worked without a problem while I was living on campus but while I am at home on winter break I have to rely on a wireless setup. The machine's specs are listed next to my profile name, and I am using a Linksys wireless-N receiver and router. What happens is once I log on and the machine boots up it automatically connects to my secured and encrypted connection with full signal strength and pretty good speed.
