Hello there. Recently my computer have just randomly shutdown meanwhile i'm playing games like CS;GO, League of Legends. The screen will just turn black and it will start to make one hell of annoying noise untill it reboots.

I've updated all my drivers. Tested my memory. Tested my RAM. Run a virus scan. Checked the heat on my Graphic card and CPU. and all seems to work just fine.
This is the errors i get:

Preferred Solution: Error 41, Error 1001 and error 6008.

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

A: Error 41, Error 1001 and error 6008.

Hi Snaski.

It is some display/graphics related issue.

Are you overclocking? As you are getting BSODs, you should stop overclocking and run all the hardware components like CPU, GPU and RAM to their default settings.

Check if the Power Supply Unit (PSU) supplying adequate power to the computer or not.
eXtreme Power Supply Calculator
Also let us know the wattage of the PSU.

Stress test the Graphics Card using Furmark.
Video Card - Stress Test with Furmark
Let us see a screenshot of the furmark window, just before you close it.

Is the computer hot? Report us the heat of the computer after a couple of hours of your normal usage. Upload a screenshot of the summery tab of Speccy. Alternatively, you can publish a Speccy snapshot too: Speccy - Publish Snapshot of your System Specs .

Install the NVIDIA DRIVERS 314.22WHQL only.
Uninstall All nvidia items in Control Panel > Programs and features3D Vision Control Driver
3D Vision Driver
Graphics Driver
HD Audio Driver
PhysX
nvidia Update
(Are you using nvidia chipset drivers? If so, dont uninstall anything other than those are listed).
Now follow Drivers - Clean Left over Files after Uninstalling
Download 314.22 WHQL. While installing, Select Custom (Advanced) install. In the next page, follow this settings:

I get an Event Error 6008 on my desktop that I personally built. When the weather was cooler the computer ran fine. Now that it is summer time (I live in CA and its about 100 outside and 80ish in the house) it shuts down when I'm running high resource stuff such as games and multi-tasking if I don't use a 6inch room fan to blow are directly into the case. I also got a pretty beefy head sink and fan for the CPU and that didn't solve the problem. Any advice?

A:Event Error 6008

it's my guess one component is generating more heat than the others.
First up would be graphics card.
If you can figure out which component is pushing the most heat you can direct your airflow a bit better, beyond that I don't really know.

Ok, so I have had my Dell Studio 1555 for almost 2 years now. So far it has run without any problems at all. However, lately it just started crashing during games. I tried several games like SC2, CS, MW2, WoW, etc. It has crashed both during some very intense moment, and while simply just staying in one place doing almost nothing.

The shutdown is a complete "shutdown", no BSOD, no error message, nothing, suddenly the laptop just goes completely off. I have the option for auto-restart when crashing turned ON, but nothing happens when it crashes. When I start it up, I get the "WIndows experienced unexpected shutdown" and that's pretty much it.

I run licensed MalwareBytes and Kaspersky, the system IS clean, no viruses, trojans, etc.

I looked extensively through Google and the most common "accepted" solution was that it was a PSU fault. I basically looked for "Error 6008"(that is what the "Event Viewer" says, nothing else btw, just "The shutdown at X date Y time was unexpected."

And here lies the kicker - I have bought a brand new PSU from Dell and it's causing the same "crash". HOWEVER, if the battery is full and I run only on it, there is 0(ZERO) crashes. Nada.

I have all the latest updates from Dell's webpage(using the service tag under the laptop) and I don't have any unlicensed software or anything like that.

I have also ran the Dell integrated Diagnostics for HDD/Memory and the... Read more

Hello mates!

i've a really serious problem and iam clueless as to the problem

i bought new parts(06/17/12) and build a new pc and i recycled some parts from the old pc

as i wrote in my specs
1.new asus mobo
2.new intel cpu 3570k
3.new psu corsair 750tx

2.2 hard drives [1.ssd 60gb 2.2TB WD caviar green]
the WD HD went to hell because of bad sectors(1444 to be exact)
but iam getting ahead of myself

here is the problem
about 2 weeks ago the pc started to suddenly restart
it happened without a warning while the pc was in idle mode
it just went POOF and started to restart himself several times but after 2 seconds restarted again and again and again in a non-stopping cycle

i shut down the pc waited a few minutes and plugged the psu cable again
this time the pc started loading fine but at the BIOS menu an alert showed saying
asus anti-surge was triggered.. i thought that maybe the cpu had over-heated or something of the sort
so i entered BIOS mode but saw that the temp were low
27C and the mobo was on energy saver mode
before i could do anything else the pc crashed again and started the endless restart cycle
after re-shutting it and pulling the cable out i tried to disconnect everything
i removed the WD HD, the gpu, the RAM, and re-plugged them all one by one

then i started the pc and everything worked out perfectly

I was thinking at first that the shutdown may have been due to overheating as my build is ITX and pretty cramped.  Another forum mod suggested I post here to find out whether or not my system is infected, to rule that out, seeing as how I have been running without any AV software.  I was under the impression that if I browsed carefully, I would avoid problems.  I will be getting software after we determine if there is anything wrong; I wanted to keep the PC as close to the state it was in from the time it shut off so i have not installed any or scanned anything as of now.  Please see link to other post for full story.

Hi there,

I have been seeking some help regarding this issue for some time now, but it's getting worse and worse and I have just no idea how to fix it. To be fair, the issue is deeply frustrating, mainly because there's no correlation in the freezes to be able to exclude it easily

The issue has started a month or two back. It all started from kind of like magenta lines on the monitor, which would freeze games and crash them. Later however, I received the message that the 307.XX driver of my NVIDIA GTX 560 card stopped working. It turned out I just had to use Driver Sweeper and install these drivers again. Problem long gone.

However, few days after that issue, my system froze. And it froze again... and again, until the point where it does it twice a day. Really, there's no correlation in the freezes. Once, it didn't freeze for 4 days, the other time it could crash up to three times a day, like today. Upon every startup after the freeze, the event viewer shows an Error 6008.

Like I said, the freezes have no pattern. The system freezes during browsing, playing games, watching films on YouTube, the sound just goes silent without any crackle and there's nothing you can do apart from pressing the power button on the PC. It's extremely frustrating.

I have previously had the system overclocked from 3.4GhZ to 4.5GhZ with temps at idle ranging 35-40 degrees, to 100% load max. at 65-70 deg, however after the issue occurred, I decided to return to the stock speed. I have the follow... Read more

A:Error 6008 Computer Freeze

Well, Error 6008 just means unexpected shutdown, did you find anything else while going through event viewer? Also what is the temperature of your graphics card on average? Sometimes components will shut down to protect themselves from overheating damage, since your GPU is overclocked, it could be a factor, especially if you don't clean out the heatsink fins every now and then.

Hello there!

I've been having problems with blue screens for a good time with my Desktop and it seems to happen more when the computer is idle. For example: I've been using my notebook a lot and had left the Desktop without use for days, now when I try to use it gets rebooted when I first turn the PC on. Then if I do not use it for some minutes it reboots again.

Thanks for the help in advance!

There are many reasons why a PC " behaves" this way.

These annoying " gliches" may be caused by an overloaded hard drive, overworked CPU, Malware, running 2 AV 's, unnecessary data, Browser addons or you may have unnecessary programs running in the background etc....

* Have you experienced a BSOD?

It started when I was playing Dishonored when a brownout came. I opened my pc in safe mode, looked to my event viewer (i usually do it when a brownout came to my PC to check for errors) then saw unexpected shutdown error. I Did nothing there, then rebooted my PC. Then after reboot, played again dishonored but the save logs got naming problems. I played a while then exited to windows. But after that i saw my rocketdock got frozen. Opened event viewer but nothing weird. Did a reboot and error ID 6008 popped out in the event viewer... I tried to fix it by going maintenance and fix error but no errors... and searching for possible solutions... came to a thread here and made a system restore on the time before i install my dishonored and while on safe mode.(i was persistent on fixing the error 6008, cuz i dont want pc probs) Reboot and a dialogue appears saying this "System restoration could not be done. Computer files and programs has NOT been changed. Information: A unknown error occured during system restore. (0xc0000022)" and I believe it was caused by and abrupt shutting down while shutting down and it had'nt brownout nor i push power buttons or pluged out from socket because it rebooted instantly. though it didnt safe moded And the error 6008 persists.

then here's the real problem now... after knowing its still there... i stumbled upon the tread where you can use system file checker tool and tried it. and also the action center submitted reports online... but w... Read more

So, I've nosed around on quite a few forums and web pages to try and figure out why my computer is randomly shutting off and/or rebooting itself. At first i thought it was the hard drive... it was having issues before so my husband and I replaced it and did a fresh install of Windows Vista Ultimate - all SP's are up to date. Well, that didn't fix the problem.

It seems no matter what I am doing, the computer will do what it wants. Sitting on facebook - boom.. screen goes black and computer stops. I have to hit the reset button on the case. Same thing happens if i'm streaming TV from the internet, playing medium-grade graphics video games or just letting it sit idle.

Is it possibly the graphics card? No. The hubby and I swapped it into his computer for a week-long test. He had no issues.

This problem just started about a month ago and I have had Vista since last year. I only re-installed the OS last weekend when i got the new HDD. It wasn't a virus, it wasn't adware...

I can't figure out what the problem is. The even log pulled up the Error 6008 and after a few hours of searching the web and seeing nothing but posts pertaining to ME or 2k3 OS's... I'm loosing patience.

Here is a copy of the last Event error. Any and all help is welcome. Thanks!

Hello everyone. I had just set my laptop to go to sleep (closed lid), and when I came back about 10 minutes later, it was turned off. When I turned it back on a BSOD error report had shown up.

I have attached the file that the BSOD guide said, but when entering "Perfmon / report", it said "The parameter is incorrect".

I have also uploaded a .txt file with the info that Event Viewer gave me.

Hello. I recently upgraded to Win7 and have been dogged by this crash. It will usually happen while playing games, but some games it doesn't happen at all. For instance, I just finished playing Metro 2033 with no problems what so ever, but when I started playing some old school Pirates, the system crashed after just a few minutes. Any thoughts on this?

Unable to edit query SQL when there is a where clause but no group by without getting the -1001 error.

Example:  This query is fine.
SELECT DISTINCT BB1.StudentID, Table43.Booking_date, Table43.Session
FROM BB1 INNER JOIN Table43 ON BB1.StudentID = Table43.StudentID
WHERE (((Table43.Session)="230"));
But if I simply enter the SQL editor (and don't even make a change), I can not save it without the Reserved -1001 error popup even if it was already saved as is earlier.  Apparently it needs notation like
SELECT DISTINCT [BB1].[StudentID], [Table43].[Booking_date], [Table43].[Session]
FROM BB1 INNER JOIN Table43 ON [BB1].[StudentID] = [Table43].[StudentID]
WHERE ((([Table43].[Session])="230"));
in order to be accepted. In particular the [] around the field before the FROM
SELECT DISTINCT [BB1].[StudentID], [Table43].[Booking_date], [Table43].Session
FROM BB1 INNER JOIN [Table43] ON BB1.[StudentID] = Table43.[StudentID]
WHERE ((([Table43].[Session])="230"));
is no good, but
SELECT DISTINCT [BB1].[StudentID], [Table43].[Booking_date], [Table43].[Session]
FROM BB1 INNER JOIN [Table43] ON BB1.[StudentID] = Table43.[StudentID]
WHERE ((([Table43].[Session])="230"));
will work.

Hi, I cannot uninstall, repair, or install Virtual Router v0.9 Beta. Codeplex does not respond at all to the 1001 error, as I have seen from some posts over a year old. I would like to remove it, and I believe the error originated after a system restore.During Uninstall attemptError 1001. Exception occurred while initializing the installation:System.IO.FileNotFoundException:Could not load file or assembly 'file:///D:\Program Files (x86)\VirtualRouterService.exe' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.I hit ok, and then it says to close.During Repair attemptError 1001. The specified service already exists >>>> I then hit okay and this pops up:Error 1001. Could not find file 'D:\Program Files (x86)\Virtual Router\VirtualRouterClient.InstallState'. >>>I then hit close to exit.I imagine the solution to be to install it on another computer and copy the files onto my current via a flash drive, however I do not have the resources necessary to do this. I would like some help or alternative options please. Thank you for your time.

Hello BleepingComputer, I am having a difficult time tracking down the cause of the failure of a program to re-install. the program is Wikitup dictionary. Previously, I have had problems with this program in the form of it not starting correctly; it uninstalls only with
difficulty. The problem now, however, is different. I am now receiving the following error message: Error 1001-On/AfterInstall event
handler of wikilon.installerHelper-value cannot be null> Parameter name: xml. I thought that the problem may be with Windows installer but I have been able to install other programs without any problems. The announcement of "value cannot be null" seems as though something
was changed somewhere; if it was, it was not by me as I would not know a line of computer code if it was in front of me. I've tried a restore point, tried retrieving the app from my back-up, tried downloading it from other (third-party) sites all to no avail. This program
works very well when it works and I consider it one of the best at what it does so giving up on it is not worth considering. I have had to
perform a complete system restore (wipe) of my computer in times past, and when I re-installed this app it always operates properly; it's
only when I have had to un-install and re-install it that this problem occurs. It's as though the program leaves some sort of marker on
my machine after an un-install that gets in the way of it's re-installation. Note-I have thought of ... Read more

Not having much faith in finding the answer to this, since quite a few people have reported this. I've seen about a dozen threads, some having no suggestions, others have suggestions, but none of them have worked for us. We have a few Zbooks, Windows 7 Profesional, and we cannot get Disk Security to install. Gives error 1001. Disabled AntiVirus. Booted into safe mode. Uninstalled any conflicting HP software, still no go. Spent two hours on chat with HP yesterday, tech unisntalled, reinstalled, uninstalled, reinstalled, uninstalled, reinstalled, etc over and over. I finally gave up as I was sick of having to keep logging back in after each reboot. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi all and thanks for your help in advance. This problem is driving me nuts. Did a fresh install of Windows 7 64 bit on a Packardbell Easynote TE69, all was running fine for a while but then on shutdown/restart I would get a hang that would last for 5 minutes or so. When the system was turned back on I would occasionally see a BSOD flash up, every time after the hang I would get the "Your system has recovered from an unexpected shutdown message" with error code 0x0000009f. Googling has turned up little. I have found the same error codes in event viewer in relation to Bugcheck under event ID 1001. Driver Power State Failure pops up loads when searching and so does updating my Wi-fi driver which I have done but no change. The only other symptom is that my usb mouse only works intermittently, I have tried several new ones, but the problem remains. I have attached my minidump file. Any help would be awesome. Thank you.

Hi all,

I recieved my new notebook clevo170hm yesterday. The laptop was working fine for 2 days, but today it started behaving weirdly when I tried connecting it to the LAN internet and it said "no network access" and "unidentified network". I remembering installing a windows update and after a reboot this error came up, before the update things were good . Here's the event viewer error description:

Code:
Your computer was not assigned an address from the network (by the DHCP Server) for the Network Card with network address 0x0090F5C1E007. The following error occurred: 0x79. Your computer will continue to try and obtain an address on its own from the network address (DHCP) server.
Apart from that I tried connecting to my wifi network, still gave me the same error " unidentified network". Here is the cmd command result for "ipconfig/all"

Code:
C:\>ipconfig/all

Forgot to mention, I do not have a router or modem. I am living in university accommodation hence all I got on the other end is a n ethernet socket.

I have configured a server with Windows Small Business Server 2003. I have set it up to run using a workgroup and not domain. Now periodically the server shutsdown on its own listing the above mentioned Event ID which indicate that ;

"this computer must be configured as a domain controller"

Microsoft's description states that this is the cause of the servers operating system integrated setup was not complete. This is the only server on the network and otherwise the network itself has been running fine outside of the periodic shutdowns.

My question is how can this be done now after the fact and what dtepsd must be taken?

Thank you for any help you can provide.

I'm running Windows 7 Pro on my Dell laptop. This laptop has been in storage and hasn't been turned on in a year. Originally, all I wanted to do was use iTunes. The problem:

It made me update it in order to use it, but I got an error.

I un-installed it and tried downloading a fresh copy and I get the following error:
After some Googling, I read that not having the latest Windows .NET framework might be the problem. Sounded reasonable so I fired up Windows Update but that gave me an error and wouldn't start checking for updates.

I managed to get it to check for updates, but now when it starts the process, I get the following:
I Googled the error code "8007007E" and tried a few things to try and fix it.

I downloaded the windowsupdatediagnostic.diagcab, found on Microsoft's site, here:http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/troubleshoot-problems-installing-updates#1TC=windows-7
I tried resetting the Windows Update reset tool, using "MicrosoftFixit50202", found here:http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=9665683
I download the system readiness tool, found here:https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=3132
I tried a clean boot.

I tried renaming the Windows Update Softwaredistribution folder.

None of this worked.

I ran the System File Checker tool (SFC.exe) and the results said I had bad files, but I don't know how to fix them. It generated a CBS log, which is too large for me to post (10MB) , so I've uploaded to dropbox,... Read more

I had a very bizarre problem today. I downloaded about 50 .mpg files and put them into a folder on my desktop. I opened one of them, and it worked fine, but after that every time I even opened the folder that the files were in, only half of the thumbnails would appear and then it would tell me that I had a Visual C++ Runtime Error, from explorer.exe aborting. At the same time as this, windows would pop up a little message saying that my virtual memory was low. Later, it popped up a message saying that my Media Player needed to be reinstalled and that my Norton Antivirus needed to be reinstalled. Then it disabled my Norton Firewall and my Norton Antivirus. Lastly, I started getting error messages telling me that my soundcard needed to be configured to handle voice files, by enabling hardware acceleration. The only problem with that was that Windows would not let me access the advanced sound settings!

I am running Windows XP (all patches up to date), 256 MB Ram, 75 Gig HD - so I figured the "low" virtual memory had to be an error. I tried tripling the virual memory to 1GB and also tried letting Windows automatically set the virtual memory size, but neither of these fixed the problem. My immediate thought was that it was a virus or trojan, but Norton VirusScan, Swat-It Trojan Scanner, and System Suite VirusScan all failed to detect anything, and all of them have their definitions up to date.

I ran a Google search to see what other things I should try and none of the... Read more

A:Blue Screen Io Error. Verification Error In Wmiacpi.sys (wmd Driver Error) 20e

Are you sure of the spelling of the 2nd file name? If so, Google doesn't give any results for it - which is suspicious. The first file name ( wmiacpi.sys ) is a Windows file that's used to help manage the ACPI settings in your system. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/filedb/wmiacpi.sys-7763.htmlA BSOD error will usually point to the file that the error occured in, but this may not be the source of the error. Here's a link on how to find more info about the BSOD message: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/top...tml#entry409491Once you locate the .dmp files for the event, you can use this link to generate an analysis of the dump for us to have a look at ( http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35246 )

Ive just bought some new memory (TWIN2X4096-8500C5C G), the new memory doesnt seem to work unless I only add one stick, and even with that I get blue screen errors.

So from reading a few pages on teh internet I put my old memory back in, and ran windows driver verifier. Upon restarting I got and keep getting teh following BSOD.

IO SYSTEM VERIFICATION ERROR in wmiacpi.sys (WDM driver error 20e)

[wmiacpi.sys+152f at B7C5C52F]

A:Blue Screen IO Error. Verification Error In Wmiacpi.sys (WMD Driver Error 20e)

If the system ran fine...before you added RAM...then you need to see if the new RAM (by itself)...works.The new RAM may not be compatible with your old RAM, in which case the system will run fine with one or the other...but not both. The Driver Verifier tool is tricky to use, I would disregard that effort...for the moment.Remove your old RAM...put the new RAM in...see if the system works properly.FWIW: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/153175/blue-screen-io-error-verification-error-in-wmiacpisys-wmd-driver-error-20e/Louis

Hey guys, having trouble getting XP to Update, well it did Update MSRT and failed on Flash as usual because I removed Flash.  The only thing I can think of that I changed was my Router settings to more aggressive, but it has not affected Windows 7?

This is the ms document on it: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/883820

I tried all the stuff they say there but none works.  I have SP3.

I am also being sent to this site, which don't look like it should.

Hello there. I have been redirected here by jamanji, whom has been most helpful by the way.
My PC crashed a little over a week ago.
Rather than retype everything, I would like to give you the link to my post.
I am not 'Tech' per se, but I would like to try and resolve my problem myself,
To make a long story short... I had error 0xc000000f. I have 2 threads on the subject, but the first thread was useless.( I think)
I read gregrocker's tutorial.
I made a Kaspersky Disc. I have a Pop Up from Kaspersky.
saying if I continue...........

Here are the links.

confused by what type of disc to use

Error 0xc000000f

If you read this...Thank you for your time.

A:Burnt out from error error error! Time to go back to Paper.

Ok mate one thing straight up the Kaspersky only requires a CD you can use a DVD but seriously a waste of useable space. Have been using Kaspersky security and tis rescue disk for years now so just the CD mate.

Just follow the prompts when you run the disk. It will boot (of course) but will not need Windows to do anything.

There are other options -

Bootable AntiVirus Rescue CD for Windows: Free Download any are good and again do not require Wndows to run.

If you can get it going then I would try this
