Graphic card lag in playing any game

Q: Graphic card lag in playing any game

Alright guys i'm new in this forum first thread but i was really noob when i bought a graphic card for my pc and now i dont have enough cash for a new one, anyway i bought a nvidia geforce 8400 gs 512mb card and when i play any game at all it lags so i played in low settings but then in nvidia control panel i say that anti aliasing and all that was on quality (which in game wasnt even there -.-) but i turned it on max performance and it still runs a little slow and the games i still have to play on low quality settings to have smooth game play, my pc is also good specs are: core 2 duo E7400 @ 2.80Ghz 6gb ddr2 ram. The other problem is i have temporary removed my graphic card and am using internal GPU which has ded vid mem of 128mb but in bios setting i put it on max and i used CpuZ to see how much max is and it shows 320mb but on Personalization>Display settings>Advanced settings it still shows 128mb is there a solution to increase this and is there a solution to run games smoothly on my nvidia graphic card?

Preferred Solution: Graphic card lag in playing any game

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Your graphics card is outdated. You should be able to play older games smoothly on it, but newer games will struggle. What games are you wanting to play on this computer?

Ok, I have read everything I can find and I feel like my head is spinning. I just received a game for my son (Zoo Tycoon 2) we have been playing the demo from the web site and had accidently purchased marine mania and dino digs first. Now I am trying to start it and I don't have the proper graphic card. I have Intel 82810E. The message I get from thier "help menu" says - Intel 82810E - due to limitations with direct X compliance of these graphics chips the game will not start. Driver updates do not resolve issue. Which is true after reading one of the top threads that says to read before posting, I tried all those things and nothing worked. I guess I have to buy or download a new graphic card? I don't know much about computers so my question is - can I find a site, like this one or majorgeeks where I can download a more updated graphic card or is this something that actually has to be purchased and installed in my computer "physically"?

We do need the DMP file as it contains the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible.

You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting into safe mode (F8) with networking.

To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder.

The procedure:

* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine. If you have uploaded DMPs before please only the new ones.
* Zip up the copy.
* Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
*If the files are too large please upload them to a file sharing service like "Rapidshare" and put a link to them in your reply.
To ensure minidumps are enabled:

* Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
* Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
* Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
* Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).
* Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
* OK your way out.

"It's not a true crash, in the sense that the bluescreen was initiated only because the combination of video driver and video hardware was being unresponsive, and not because of any synchronous processing exception".

Since Vista, the "Timeout Detection and Recovery" (TDR) components of the OS video subsystem have been capable of doing some truly impressive things to try to recover from issues which would have caused earlier OSs like XP to crash.

As a last resort, the TDR subsystem sends the video driver a "please restart yourself now!" command and waits a few seconds.

If there's no response, the OS concludes that the video driver/hardware combo has truly collapsed in a heap, and it fires off that stop 0x116 BSOD.

If playing with video driver versions hasn't helped, make sure the box is not overheating.

Try removing a side panel and aiming a big mains fan straight at the motherboard and GPU.

Run it like that for a few hours or days - long enough to ascertain whether cooler temperatures make a difference.

If so, it might be as simple as dust buildup and subsequently inadequate cooling.

I would download cpu-z and gpu-z (both free) and keep an eye on the video temps

I would also update to SP-1

Please run the System Update Readiness Tool (SURT) and then update to SP-1

Hey out there,

I came upon this site via Google and saw a "thread" from Brenda about the Legos Star Wars game and a graphic card that supports Pixel Shaders v1.1. I read some of the responses which prompted me to visit the Toshiba webpage. I downloaded the detailed specifications for my laptop but I still can't figure out if I have PCI card or AGP card port. I tried to put the information into the designated slots for the registration profile but there is not enough room. I am a Mom of a 10 yr old who was given this game for his birthday in June. I have just finally come upon this website mentioning the same problem. Our laptop is not very old, maybe 2 years. Any help in directing me where to look on these specs for the card info. I need would be greatly appreciated. I see it says expandability "1 PC Card slot support 1 Type II PC card". Is that what I'm looking for? Hey, I email and can find things I need on the web but games are beyond me. I'm just trying to see if I can get this Lego game working without having to buy a new computer.

Thanks for your time and comments.

Had my graphics card OCed for a while (1 year) and had no problems with gaming until about 1 month ago
to which i started getting freezes playing World of warcraft.

I have stopped OCing but this hasnt effected anything.
These freezees still occur in game only but BSOD's happen randomly no matter what.

These BSOD's have only just started.

I haven't ran any tests yet as i wanted to ask for your opinion first with my crash result.

Updated my ATI drivers but had no effect.

Heya.. I've been searching for an answer to this question all over the internet for about a week now, and I still haven't found anything, so I thought, that I write here...
There's absolutely no problems with MAFIA installation, as I know, many people do. Also, I've reinstalled it about five times, so don't recommend that to me. When I open the game, then first of all, NOD32 determines something.. if you think, that it would help, if I wrote here, what it actually says, then I will write it here, but you gotta let me know. Besides, there's nothing that could be a virus, I have original CD's, right from Gathering of Developer's. Then I close NOD32 form task manager, and open Mafia again (the last time nothing but the NOD note appeared). This time is almost the same, only without the NOD notification. When I look at the task manager processes, then Game.exe appears for a half of a second, but that's all, and even that isn't happening every time. Once, way back, about 3 months ago p) it gave me 'Init error'. Then I looked up in the internet and Illusion Softworks had said, that most of the 'Init errors' comes from the graphic card drivers or not updated DirectX. DirectX is up to date, but here comes my problem, there's just no drivers for my graphic card on ATI website. Ofcourse, I've looked from other sites but still notning normal..

Now clearly: If I open Game.exe, nothing happens, what to do? I ... Read more

About 7 months ago, i had to RMA a graphics card cause it kept causing BSOD's. The graphics card I had received from EVGA seemed to be dead on arrival so I RMA'd that one as well. The next one(my current graphics card) worked for about 6 months. About a couple days ago it started to get intense artifacting then the display driver will crash receiving the typical message of "display driver crashed due to taking to long to respond"- but it mostly crashes playing mildly graphic intensive games, sometimes i get crashes just being on the desktop, but it's rare

Hey all...got a serious problem here I was hoping someone might know how to fix.

I'm finding while playing Half Life 2 (as well as Battlefield 2) my computer randomly completely locks up while playing the game. It seems to be random, as no appears to trigger the lock up (it seems to happen anywhere from 1 minute to 1 hour of game time)...I'll just be running down a corridor and then the screen will lock, the last 1/2 second of sound will simply loop over and over and I cannot exit out of the game and have to reboot the system to even shut the program down at all.

Some specs....running a G-Force FX 5600, with 1 gig of ram and a 2.6 gig Pentium 4. Before you ask, all my drivers are up to date (even running on the new ones that came with Battlefield 2) and I've had this problem for months and had a couple driver updates in that time, and that has not fixed the problem.

This problem does not occur on most of the other games I have (halo, tiberian sun) only Half Life 2 and Battlefield 2 is it a problem...and it's a major one. It has rendered the games virtually unplayable since it's so random and because I have to reboot the system and reload the game it takes almost 10 minutes to get back into it. I got frustrated and quit half life 2 cause I couldn't play it, and now the problem has re-surfaced for Battlefield 2.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a Compaq Presario 5320US Desktop PC, the Video card is NVIDIA Vanta TNT-2 16MB AGP Video Card Revision 0. trying to play a game (Nancy Drew Warnings at Waverly Academy) i get error, the video card not match minumem requirememnts to run this game. how can i fix this? I am running Windows 7.

A:Video Card not playing game

Well, that is seriously underpowered equipment for Windows 7, but the demands of that game are modest for such a recent release.

Your system specifications are here:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00009492&tmp_task=prodinfoCategory&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=93212

and the game minimum requirements:

http://www.herinteractive.com/Mystery_Games/Nancy_Drew/Warnings_at_Waverly_Academy/pc

The key factor seems to be:

"32 MB DirectX 9.0 compatible video card"

You'd need to upgrade to an AGP 4x video card with at least 32MB of RAM, DX9 and Windows 7 compatibility and modest power consumption as your system only has a 235W PSU. The standard Vanta supplied is a low profile card, but has a full height backing plate, so I don't think a low profile card is essential. I'm out of touch with the market for older AGP cards, but maybe if you could find something like a 128MB nVidia 6600 at a market or on eBay, it might suit.

Other posters may have further suggestions too.

Hi! I've searched long and hard for a solution to this and have found none. I am using a Rosewill RNYX-N250PCe wireless adapter on a Windows 7 sp1 64bit computer. The MB only has a PCIe 16x (occupied by a radeon HD 7750) and a PCIe 16x running at 4x (occupied by the wifi card). I am currently on a public wifi network. Every once in a while when I start playing an online game, the connection drops momentarily, and then reconnects. The wifi restarts when I tab out. This usually repeats every time I try to tab back into the game, causing serious issues. I downloaded Xirrus Wifi inspector and noticed that there are multiple routers, each on a different channel. My computer switches back and forth between two routers whenever this disconnect is taking place.

Additionally, when I play a graphically intense game offline, it drains my internet speed, often times until it disconnects the wifi altogether (as when I'm downloading a file or something).

I have fiddled with all the power options, TX settings, PCIE power management settings, updated drivers, tried with a different wireless PCIe Card, updated firmware on my SSD, motherboard drivers, graphics card drivers, adjusted antennae, made sure there is only one wifi controller software/utility, checked for viruses etc, but no luck.

So my questions (after trying everything else) are, is there a way to prevent the wireless from changing access points within the same network SSID (they have equal si... Read more

First of all:
I don't know too much about computers, so use easy language please.

I have sent in my computer to get repaired and got it back yestersay. Since then i've been trying to get it to work properly again.
I can't play any of the games I used to play before I sent it in to get repaired (for example, Battlefield 3). I can start dota2 but it looks pretty messed up. I can run minecraft though ^^

Anyway, after a lot of questions asked, trying out different stuff and after getting further and further to the end of this problem I've come to this:

My computer shows me that I have an nvidia geforce 7025 nforce 630a graphic card.
Although it says in the computer description that it SHOULD have a AMD HD 6870 1GB GDDR 5.
My screen isn't plugged in the graphic card, since it doesn't recieve anything from there. It is plugged directly to the motherboard.
So, from what I understand the nvidia card is the integrated graphic card or am I totally wrong?

Anyway, the device manager can only find the nvidia card and I cannot run any game smoothly on this computer.
Before I realized this possibility I've tried to download newer drivers for the nvidia card, but it didn't help.

Please help me to get my ADM HD 6870 1GB GDDR 5 to run!
I'm trying to google for solutions, but I'll give this site a shot.
Thanks!

A:haveing problems playing a game with out it either randomlly crashing the game...

first of all is this limited to this game alone?do other games run fine?check for any overheating signs, install the latest drivers for your video card and your mobo, direct x and any other update.see if you meet the minimum requirements for the game.(this was just the official response you would get from a techie..so bear with me)

if this is happening in this game only and not in any other and your pc isnt overheating and meeting the minimum requirements, then there is a good chance its an issue with your optical drive, try a combo drive if you've got any around.its an incompatibility issue with some of the games.good luck

Hi, I am new on this forum and I hope someone can help me out.

Every time I play a game at start it runs great.. then after 15-20 minutes everything gets slower and slower, I mean really slow. Movement and sounds are going slower and slower when time progresses. I have updated my sound drivers, updated my DirectX. It's like something eats up my ram or my soundcard is causing it. And when everything gets slow I quit the game and windows is then also very very slow. And sometimes my soundcard crashes, giving a loud beep sound. It's driving me NUTS.

Got an amd athlon 1,2 ghz, 512 ram, 40gigUDMA HD, MSI K7T motherboard, asus 7100pro geforce 2 32mb ram videocard, Creative SB Live! value soundcard running on windows ME (updated version installed over w98SE).

About 3-4 months ago, my uncle placed a GeForce 9500GT video card. It worked nice for games like Dekaron,Rappelz,Oblivion but just about a week ago it crashed on COD2. I thought it was normal but it happened on Left 4 dead too. I started to get worried and thought it was normal but then it kept on crashing on Portal(1st stage, at around 20-30 seconds on the timer) and almost any game i borrow from my friends. It crashed on Warcraft 3, Overlord, Drift City(only in Undercity Mission). Im kinda worried now maybe you guys can help me.

It crashes and sometimes the sound loops but sometimes it doesnt. Im not sure if it's only the monitor because some of my games cant be shut by using ALT F4 and i cant check if it shuts down well. When i unplug, plug and turn it on, there are no warnings or things that say it recovered from an error. It just starts normally. Some people say i have to upgrade my Video card driver but im worried because when i installed a driver on my Laptop , i couldnt turn it on. SO WHAT DO I DO?

It seems something is going wrong with my GPU or one of the drivers. I feel like it's most likely hardware failure, due to extreme treatment of my laptop. What happens is the whole screen kind of just gets chopped up into squares (sometimes the patterns vary. Sometimes, it's not even a ****ing pattern, just a ****ed up screen) with different colors. It then crashes and attempts to restart but you can't even read the BSOD because the screen is so messed up. Then it will reboot itself but the screen is screwed and if you attempt to run 'windows normally', it will crash and reboot in an endless cycle. I have to start in safe mode, in which there are a bunch of nasty lines that start from left to right on the screen. I can still use the laptop but over time the screens disappear and the screen finally goes back to normal. After this, I can reboot into normal mode. Help!! I can also send pics showing what happens, I just have to play a game and have it crash for me again haha Thanks!

I get BSOD whenever I am on my computer for 6 hours or over, watching a video and playing a game, or while playing gmod in general. My comp specs are on my profile as best as I could get. My computer runs 68C 26% fanspeed when not playing any games and gets as hot as 86C when playing games.
and my graphics card is up to date.

some of the BSODs were like memory management or time management or something.

Here is my SCF/scannow

A:BSOD playing too long, watching a video and playing a game or gmod

Hello and welcome foodwrap Mate you mentioned memory management was brought up.

Now two things you can do here is
a) reseat the sticks

b) run a memtest if the reseating doesn't have any effect

You will need to make a bootable disk for the memtest and set the BIOS to boot from the optical drive then insert the memtest disk and Save and > Enter.

Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool

The machine will boot into the memtest program - no OS is loaded and it will start "testing" the RAM
Now you need to let it run for at least 8 passes unless you start to get red errors straight away.
The test takes quite while and sometimes people run it overnight.

But do the reseat first and have a look to see if any crud is down in the slots. You can take this chance to have a quick once over of the machine for dust etc

See pics for what it will look like when you run the memtest if you have to.

Hello, i need to ask people of this problem because i cant figure this out...

Recently, iv upgraded from a GeForce 5500 (which had no problems in the past) to a GeForce 6200 (which is fine for me, out of date i know).. Im finding that whenever i open anything pretaining to Video games or even just random occurences, that it hard-locks and the graphics get very odd.

So, i figured that maybe my computer cant run the game. And it can. So i ruled out that aspect. So it must be my GeForce doing this to me.
So, does anyone have any idea what my problem is?
Side Note: It even has graphic problems on a game called Terraria (2D side scroller)

Hi, I am not getting proper graphics for godfather game. The gameplay is like, the characters are ok but the environment and vehicles are all white color. I have intel 82852/82855 gm/gme graphic controller with 64 mb video memory.

A:Godfather game problem with graphic issues.

You need a DirectX 9.0c compatible graphics card and the Intel 82852 is only DX 8 compatible. If its a laptop you need a new one, if its a desktop machine I would consider getting a decent graphics card to play games.

Hiya

As you may already know, by the title, I'm having trouble with the graphics of the game 'Black & White'. Everything like the trees and people, are very WEIRD things like eyes, or colours such as green. I have tried everything that I can think of, like downloading a patch from this website (I think it was voodoo 3DFX tools) unzipped it, then tried it, and it still didn't work. Everything else seems to be running smoothly, and problem-free though. Does anyone know what the cause of this problem ?

Help greatly appreciated, aswell as five million pounds.....

Thanks,
gamegeek2

EDIT: Website is www.voodoofiles.com/3201
EDITEDIT: (Man I'm obsessed with these!!) Oh yeah, and I've updated EVERYTHING such as drivers and graphic things, so don't ask about them.
EDITEDITEDIT: (Thats it I give up!) I also forgot, that before I had to reboot this computer, that the game was fine, except for the err, occasional crash (due to too many temple things) . And may I add, I hope this is the last edit I make

Post your system specs, that will help more.

Did you check if there was a patch available for the game, and if so, did you install it?

Ok so 2 days ago my computer started showing white speck on the background and mainly on the windows taskbar. These specs only seem to appear when the computer is processing information. Every key stroke and when the computer is receiving information from the internet. Also Graphics in game seem to be really jacked up. Walls appear where they shouldn't and at weird angles. Characters have large spikes growing from their hands, feet, and end of weapons. I have tried to install an updated driver, scanned for viruses, unplugged monitor and still nothing has worked. Any information to help resolve this issue would be appreciated.

Also, have ATI Radeon HD 4800 series vid card and an AMD phenom 9850 quad core 2.5
I tried screen shotting the specks but they dont show up on screen shots.
