HiThe fan of my less-than-half-a-year-old T470 suddenly began to emit strange noise and I went to a local service provider in CA. My laptop was bought in Russia with a 3-year international warranty. The service provider told me that he might have to send it back to Russia, and they will consult with Lenovo within a week. That is a huge surprise for me, as shipping it back and forth might take a long time. Can I somehow request to repair my laptop inside the US and is there any opportunity to claim a temporary replacement for the time the laptop is being repaired?Thanks

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

Hello everyone. I'm thinking of purchasing a T470 and it appears that it comes with a 3 year onsite warranty as standard here in the UK (with the student discount anyway). My main question is that will I be able to make warranty claims even if I'm not in the UK? I'm going to be going to China in August and I'll be there for a good 10 months (maybe more) so I want to know if I'll be able to make warranty claims there. Going along with that, if I am able to make warranty claims in China, will I have to make the claim in Chinese to Lenovo China, and what is the chance that the technician speaks English (especially in a second tier city)? I'd say my Mandarin is "OK" at the moment but I know very few computer related terms. I think I could just about get by with what I know and the dictionary app on my phone, a roommate helping, or someone in the International Students office helping over the phone, but I'd feel much better having making the claim and talking to the technician in English if possible. Finally, I'll probably buy some RAM and a SSD from Amazon if the price is significantly cheaper than Lenovo. Will I have any problems with this if I need to make a warranty claim? Thanks in advance!

I have been having problems with my Flex 3 like slow response, disk always showing 100% in task manager, irregular charging, etc. So I ran a Lenovo solution center scan and it showed that my hard disk has failed a targeted read test. When I contacted support, I found out that the laptop cannot be serviced in my country (India) but the hard disk needed to be replaced. I still have 2 months of warranty so the replacement should be free. However, should I skip this hassle of shipping my laptop internationally and just buy a hard disk and replace it on my own? I'm not a tech expert by any means so its possible that I might make the problem worse. I was thinking of folowing online guides or just give it to a person who knows what he's doing. I know servicing it through a service center is recommended but it does not make sense financially since it will cost me a lot of time and money to ship it. I'm looking for advice or suggestions on what to do

I have just gone through process of ordering a new replacement hard drive for my laptop which is still under warranty so when i completed the order i have been told to send the old hard drive back to Dell or it says if i do not then i will be charged for the new hard drive but *** Dell no way are we sending our old hard drive to you - it contains all our work which we cannot for security reasons give to you - but we are also not going to pay for a new hard drive when it is under warranty - also why did you not make us aware of this before we went through the new hard drive order process?  You only told us after the order went through - you surely cannot expect to receive old dead hard drives containing all our personal or commercial information??  We paid for this laptop which is hardly even 6 months old - it is not our fault that you are selling laptops with hard drives that only last barely 6 months - we have now put all our information on to that hard drive so as far as we are concerned that old hard drive now belongs to us - not you.  This should not affect the warranty that came with the laptop we paid for.

I bought my laptop 3 years ago, after 1 year I extended my warranty to addtional 2 years from the country which I bought my laptop. Will this extended warranty covers internationally? Now I have problem with hard disk can I get replaced it from another country under warranty?

HiI bought a Lenovo yoga 900 laptop this year from India. My laptop is registered online with lenovo.  I am currently doing my studies in South Africa. My warranty covers accidental damage for the first year which expires on 28th Nov 2017. I have always extended my warranty for three years. Now, I need to get a servicing done for my laptop, since my screen chipped, and my laptop battery gets too hot sometimes, and thus gets drained too fast. However, when I contacted the Lenovo customer care at South Africa, they told that if the unit was purchased abroad, it will be serviced out of warranty. But, my warranty does cover an international warranty..so why do I need to pay for any servicing if my system is still under warranty? Can anybody please help me in this regard??

Hi, I want to buy this 2-in-1 notebook in the UK for a gift in India. When I asked Customer service over phone, I was adviced that this is not covered by International Warranty. However, when I looked at the HP message board, I saw that any product sold after Aug 1999 is covered by a global warranty. Please can you advice which is the right one? Hi! I have issue with my Lenovo 100s, it doesn't charge or turn on. I tried all of "hold power button for 15 seconds" suggestions and decided to call local Lenovo service provider. And since I bought notebook in Malaysia, they were not sure if this is covered by Lenovo warranty and suggested to contact global Lenovo. And here I am, I chacked warranty status online, it's kinda valid, but I cannot use live chat, because it doesn't work in my country, I cannot order call, because I cannot change Malaysian country code to my country code in phone number input field, so I'm writing here. Any suggestions?

First of all, HP has the worst customer relations. I regret buying a high end HP notebook, when there are other companies offering same specs in even lesser price and with even better customer relations!Every time I enter my product's Serial Number on the HP Support Website, they say that this product isn't registered and therefore, they don't proceed further. Whereas, the same HP's website confirms that my laptop's warranty is still 6 months.The problem is, that I purchased my laptop a month ago. As per HP's rules, warranty period starts from the date of purchase if you upload the purchase evidence (http://www8.hp.com/us/en/hpe/privacy/limited_warranty.html). But, as I can't connect to any HP Support Assistant, I can't get much help from HP.So, anyone else care to help me out in this matter?

1.  That the model is sold by Dell in Hungary and
2.  That the system was upgraded at extra cost - or you upgrade it now - to an onsite service plan.
The basic 12-month warranty is return-to-depot and cannot be transferred internationally.

I want to buy a notebook from DELL USA with an address that I have in Miami.
Now, I wonder if the notebook , would have warranty on DELL PERU.
I was told , it was necessary to add "premium support" for international warranty.

1.  The system you buy MUST be sold in the market where you want to transfer the warranty.  If it's not, there is no support for it.  Make sure the system is listed for sale on the Dell Peru website.
2.  You must purchase an upgrade to an onsite service plan -- the basic 12-month depot repair warranty cannot be transferred internationally.

I purchased an Ideapad 320 laptop in the US, although I live in the UK. I haven't had an issue with the laptop itself, but the US power adapter that was supplied with the machine has a fault, it now only works when I twist the wire going into the transformer end, I think it has a bad connection. I opened a support ticket on Lenovo UK's website and they just replied telling me that as the laptop has a US serial number they have no obligation to provide warranty service for it, because they only provide warranty service for European laptops apparently. Surely a product from another European country would have to be serviced under the international warranty in the UK? Their argument makes no sense. They said I need to contact Lenovo US and sent me their US phone number, but I'm not prepared to phone a US number from the UK, that would be prohibitively expensive and I can't see any way to email them or open a support ticket online, they seem to be only contactable by phone. They even had the audacity to send me a link to a website where I could BUY a new charger, for a laptop that is still in warranty and one I was lead to believe had an international warranty! I don't understand why Lenovo UK can't inspect or send me a new charger under the international warranty. The Ideapad 320 is sold in the UK with a UK plug, they are dual voltage so it doesn't matter if it's replaced with a US charger ordered from the US or the equivalent UK charger. Can anyone expl... For business and consumer notebooks alike, I just had no idea where this question belongs. Reading this forum I have found that all your notebooks (consumer and business) carry some form of International Warranty, but your notion of internaional warranty is rather strage: I have to send back the notebook to the country of purchase. Which, in my books does not count as international warranty, it is called national warranty. Sure, you can send any product back to the country of purchase from any manufacturer, you don't need special warranty to that, you shouldn't call this International Warranty, it just confuses the customer. What's the deal here?

I bought a HP Spectre 13-v082ng with the serial number is [Personal Information Removed] in Austria, October 2016. I think this product is not worth between quality and its price. Since the first time, I had a problem with time display remaining. The windows system was not displayed properly, then I chatted with technician support. However, he suggested me to visit service center to reset RTC battery. Sorry, I did not want to go there because I  did not to face with hardware issue.
 
Today, I have the second problem. My notebook could not start with message on black screen. The message is NO HARD DRIVE INSTALLED, AND THERE IS NO OPTION TO SOLVE IT BY RECOVERY SYSTEM.
 
THE WORST Case is my international warranty is rejected by SERVICE CENTER IN BANDUNG, WEST JAVA. The officer said because this product has been bought in Austria. They do not have competence to repair it. HEEELLLOOO..COME ONNNN. What kind of international product is it????

Greetings, My Lenovo Y50 (i7 4720HQ, GTX 960M, Touch Screen) just failed five days ago. It was not a result of misuse (as far as I know), mistreatment, or accidental damage. Either the RAM, the Graphics Card, or the screen is defective. The screen, suddenly, out of seemingly nowhere, started showing distorted colors. Everything white is a light tint of green, and there are red vertical slopes appearing and disappearing across the screen. The laptop is effectively done and ready to be replaced. I have had the laptop for approximately 5-6 months. Definitely less than a year. I bought it at Best Buy in the United States and know that it is covered by a 1 year manufacturer warranty. Unfortunately, the laptop broke down in the Czech republic, where I reside. Now the question is, is the Lenovo Y50 covered by International Warranty Service? I would look myself, but I do not have access to the serial number at this time. I would like to visit a Lenovo store in Prague to turn in my laptop. I know the Y50 is sold and supported in this country for sure. So if I bring it to the store, will they repair/replace it for me? Or do I have to send it all the way back to Best Buy? Or is my laptop no longer covered, since it broke in a foreign country? I also opened the back once. I didn't move or remove any of the components, only the cover. I needed to clean the air vents. Hello, I really hope someone from Lenovo management would read this. Thinkpad was my brand of choice over other brands exactly because of customer support quality. But today I faced something unbelievable.I have a Thinkpad P50 with cooling and keyboard issues. It's still covered by International warranty, so I have decided to use an official repair service, no matter is my case covered by warranty or not. There's only one official service center in Ukraine, Odessa, so I had to go there. Long story short, they declined even taking my laptop for paid (because there's no "free") diagnostics because it's from the US. I'm not talking about how unacceptable "INTEX"'s stuff's behavior was, that is another question, but I'm asking Lenovo for two things: 1. Is this true I have to go to the US, just to repair my Thinkpad covered by International Warranty2. Is Lenovo responsive for the service quality in service centers which are states as official on lenovo.com website Thank you,Vlad

I purchased my laptop from Bangalore,India August,2016.Three months later the laptop's touchpad stopped working.Lenovo company sold the product on Internation warranty service for one year.Inspite of complaining to Lenovo in France and India.They least bothered to provide any service.Please don't cheat or be so careless with poor like me.-KathikJeeva

Hi, I bought my X1 YOGA 2nd in September, 2017 in the US. Recently there is a problem with its screen  since it might be flashing sometimes which is very much disturbing. But the problem is that I am now using it in China and might go to the US for further studies. If I get a warranty extension now and register IWS to obtain repair services in China, is it still possible for me to have warranty service in the US? It is possible for machine with limited warranty to have automatically have IWS but not all.
 
There are specific models that have International warranty as this depends on the availability of parts specially those that was not marketed to that country. Even if the same model , if the machine tye is different then parts such as the motherboard would not be available and is referred back to the country of purchase for the service.
 
Here are some FAQ to check on your model regarding IWS.
 
Upgrades for accidental damage protection and onsite repair maybe a good plan for you.
