Hello Everyone,
I'm a user of Alienware 17 R3 bought it 3 months back and know what it got a loads of problems and when i call dell support they acts as they helping and visualize very beautifully that they are very much into customer's and after 5 days of follow up i was assigned a Senior R.E Dell Technician certified for Alienware systems(at least they said so) and i'm made my self completely free today and guess what that technician called me and said he as so many other Call request's so he can't come and asking me to tell Dell support that i'm not available at the assigned time.This is absolutely ridiculous because high end devices like alienware have a Pro support and on site support ,but they are saying some ridiculous reasons to postpone the service request ,I wonder that if they do something like this to Pro support and extended warranty customer's what service they will assure you to normal warranty laptop's
Absolutely this is waste of time and money in buying such expensive thing's like extended warranty Pro support care etc , for only hearing reasons what they say.Sorry if this is so long but i want you to here the truth. I don't know if it is like this everywhere but where i stay i'm sure its always like this.Also my post will be through the moderator i don't even know they will let this post pass to community.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

I am not satisfied with Dell India support answers to go with out of warranty services as Dell Inspiron 7537 Laptop had never gone under damage and the laptop is under warranty.

I wanted to buy a new laptop and found out about Dell 5577 on the internet. I wanted to know more about it. So in the evening, I went to nearby official Dell Store in Swastik Plaza, Vasant Vihar, Thane(W).

Over there, I met Sandeep Kanade, who is the customer representative at the store. He showed me a Dell 5577 which was on display. I tried it out for a few minutes.

The laptop was good but the display looked somewhat off. The colors were not vibrant and picture quality looked dull.

Before going to the store, I had read on the internet that recent Dell laptops have TN displays with poor screen quality. An alternative to TN is IPS display which has much better display quality.

So while I was trying out the on-display Dell 5577 laptop, I asked Sandeep if this display is IPS or TN. To which he replied that its an IPS display. Then I asked the price of the laptop. He said its 85,000 Rs.

Then I asked, what if there is an issue with laptop in first few days? He said that if there is any issue with the laptop, within the first week of purchase, he will replace it.

I told him that I will come by next morning to do the payment.

September 2nd, 2017
I went to the store to ask about EMI options. Over there, I again asked Sandeep, if the screen is IPS or not. He replied that the screen is IPS.

Lenovo is the manufacturer of their laptop motherboards which includes other brands like intel,nvidia,amd etc.. if a customer aproach lenovo service center in india with their laptop to servce all they do is,reinstall os for software issues, and replace,ram,harddisk or motherboard. Replacing hdd and other components are understandable. But nobody here can fix a motherboard issue ,are they lenovo trained technicians or are they just normal laptop servce center who got certified by lenovo to help their customer. I know lenovo dont give a sh about these forums or few number of customers sad reviews.But the guys who made these motherboard knows the components in it well and they have the equipments to test the hardware and find the exact fault. Why cant lenovo service center have that. You have a service center in every city just for name sake.  Please tell a genuine lenovo service center in india which is dedicated for lenovo and which has lenovo trained technicians with good hardware diagnostic equipments, next time instead of wasting time and money in my locale city i will go there to service my laptop.

I had a Dell laptop Inspiron 15 3000 Series (Inrel(R)) - 3543, I purchased it from US. I have sent that laptop to my house in India and it got stolen from there. I launch a Police complaint there with the serial number I got from Dell support team. but now, Police is asking me some mac id (I do not know what it means), so my question is where can I get this id ?

I think that they are referring to the mac address ID of the onboard network card. But we do not have those. All we provide is the service tag number and express service code number. Which are found on the laptop itself and your Dell invoice.

I am planning to buy a dell XPS 9560 4K laptop in Mumbai, India.
My question is simple and straightforward and I would like the answers to be likewise.
The product isn't available straight from Dell and thus I find myself planning to buy it from Amazon India or a local marketplace.
Thus my concern is since the laptop isn't available in Dell India, how is the repairing process in India done if my laptop gets faulty.
In other words, can I get my laptop repaired in India if anything goes wrong hardware and software-wise?

If the system model you want is not sold by Dell in India, then Dell will not transfer the warranty nor support it there.  ONLY systems sold in the market where they're used are eligible for warranty support.
If you purchase from a seller -- even in India -- a system not sold by Dell in that market, repairs would either be handled by the seller OR the system would have to be returned to the country of origin for repairs.
Given the relatively high percentage of notebooks that need a warranty repair, carefully consider the risk in light of this.

I keep getting these errors.  I uninstalled Dell Support Assistant, Dell Support Assistant remediation, and dell update services  and reinstalled them all but the errors keep coming back and I have a feeling something important in the winretools and dellsupport partitions are not getting updated.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

Two months ago bought a Dell 8900 from Best Buy. After 20 days, it would not start, same with the next 8900 replacement... only fewer days. The first gameware as a replacement did not start at all. The Alienware Aurora worked beautifully for 3 days and then would not start. In the 8900's,,, got the blinking amber lights on the start button. Tech is coming to replace motherboard. What the heck is happening? Could it be the monitor... or the external hard drive or what? Come on Dell,,, what's up? I have a Dell XP Laptop as a back up using the same external hard ddrive.

nothing, aside from owning one with an infection, which is what i think is going on. i am having severe lag and 99% memory usage at most times. i think i could write this post faster using a telegraph machine. i've cleared my cache, ran ccleaner, malwarebytes and avast. mbytes and ccleaner don't seem to find anything abnormal and neither does avast. that is, until i run a boot scan with avast. it will get to about 4%, let me know that it's found a corrupt file in one of my downloads and shut down a bit after. startup repair just locks in most cases, if it doesn't shut down. the laptop itself will also sometimes power down intermittently. my specs: dell studio 1558windows 7 home premium (64 bit) service pack 1intel core i3 cpu m330 @ 2.13ghz 2.144 gig ramhere's my hijack this file. Hey everyone, so i come home one day and turn on my laptop, i go to play some music and i realize nothing is playing. I look at the speaker icon and it has a white x in a red circle over it. I tried to open the settings but it kept saying "one or more audio services are not running." So i tried enabling "Windows Audio" in the services.msc, but all it says is "Windows could not start the Windows Audio service on Local Computer, Error2: The system cannot find the file specified." So i assumed that there were no output devices that were recognized by my laptop. But then i realized that everyday for the past year I have been listening with the same headphones, so how could this happen out of the blue? I look on skype settings for example, and there are no speakers recognized, (not in the drop down box), and no mic etc. I am really worried, and this has happened before, and the company changed my motherboard. Although now I do not have warranty so i am nervous. I am just so confused as to how this could happen so randomly. Oh and I also tried updating my drivers from dell.support website, and nothing seems to work. Please help if possible, Thanks alot.

Please fill in your specs for future reference.
First of all, I would recommend trying a system restore to a date before the problem appeared.
If that does not work, try right clicking My computer->Properties->Device Manager and see if there any driver that is showing with an exclamation mark. If so, please post the error code and the Hardware ID that you can find by right clicking the driver, going to Properties->Details and choosing "Hardware IDs" from the dropdown menu.
Also, try going intro Control Panel -> Sound and see if your speakers/headphones are recognized there.

Own an Alienware M18xR2 laptop 
Connected it to dells website in 2015 and the site listed its country of origin as UK 
Keyboard - UK
Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 - UK
Power brick - UK 

Fixed a corrupted BIOS a few days ago with a BIOS update but now Dells website says the following 
Country of Origin - Germany 
Keyboard - German
Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 - German
Power brick - EU 
My service tag hasn't changed but now I can't use Dells website as it defaults to German
Is it possible for someone at Dell to change the information connected to my service to display the correct information ? This laptop was not even bought in Germany, and since this problem has started, Dells website won't even update my current configuration either.

I am writing because I have been the victim of what I believe is a "Dell's inside job" in this technical support scam to Dell computer users out of warranty or expired technical support based in INDIA. I have been a DELL customer since 2003, always had the best tech support with no problem, even when I called once about 7 years ago, they cleaned my computer for $49.00 which was ok with me with no problem. I bought an all in one computer in 2012, with 3 years of tech support. We are Dell resellers and had placed an order for 43 Laptops - Dell Latitude 3560 with Dell on 13th June, 2016. We delivered them to our customer on Friday 17th June, 2016. On Monday 20th June we discovered that all the Laptops are faulty and are not functioning properly. They have not been able to use a single system due to touchpad issues in the entire lot
We have made innumerable calls Dell to resolve the problem, but the team is unable to identify and rectify the problem. 
We have spoken to our partner account manager, regional account manager, Service Specialist and Escalation Team, requesting them to provide us with a solution at the earliest as their work is getting hampered. Our customer has to deploy the same by 1st July however they do not have any Dell Laptops functioning correctly.  
How do we escalate this to the Dell management and get a replacement ASAP

why are alienwares so overpriced? how is an alienware with the same specs as a dell xps better and more expensive?

Alienware actually makes sure all your parts will give you great performance.
Dell has this habit of saying "Intel inside" with a 3.0 ghz CPU and 512mb of RAM.
Then you buy the system and find out you can't upgrade anything in it and you bought a 3ghz Celeron with 512mb of PC133 RAM.
If your buying a DELL, look very closely at whats in it. There is almost always a huge bottleneck in the system that they expect you to overlook.

Alienware will always put great parts in their system, do a system burn in and then ship it. I have heard their Customer support is a little lacking though.

From Google, the sound distortion appears to be worldwide and has been around for a long time - but Dell tech support appears they know nothing about it. I'm using Windows 7 SP-1. The distortion will stop if I reboot. Without rebooting, the distortion returns anywhere within a few hours to a few days and, as time goes on, the distortion gets much worse. If you have any ideas on how to fix this issue, I will provide as many other particulars about my computer and software as you need. If there is no known solution, I believe a class action suit may be warranted. Thank you in advance.

ive bought an alienware around half an year ago and recently its starting to glitch every few seconds in games.
first i thought because i had alot of stuff installed all on one drive.. so i deleted some stuff up and shrinked disk C to make a second drive and now i install everything there if i need to. but i cant solve my main problem :/

Apparently I have a bad virus and I need to reformat my laptop. It came from Dell so I don't have a CD for it but I do have a Win7 CD I used for my desktop computer. I am unsure if I can use said CD for the laptop because of registration garbage and I wanted to find out and possibly get advise on the best way to go about doing the reformat before I wiped it clean.

My brother just gave his Alienware Aurora to my boyfriend and the computer won't turn on by the power button but it does turn on with the button in the back while my boyfriend is holding it but turns off immediately afterward.  It worked just fine when my brother had it so no clue what the trouble could be now.  Please help, thank you.

With the XPS 8910 and Alienware Aurora R5 i solved the problem Downloadin by dell the following ISO of WIndows 7: G13K9_PW4KGA00_W7SP1PRO64_ROW(DL)
This ISO it does not work on this Laptop(Alienware 17 R4). Basically when start  the system with Windows PE it does not recognize the USB port so it lose the Installation media.....

I tried to Inject these driver into the boot.wim
But nothing has change when i start the Installation of windows from usb key...i lose the of usb ports and so  the media with the installation of Windows....
I have to add the driver also in the Install.wim? There is the possibility to download the CAB drivers?

A:Downgrade the Dell Alienware 17 R4 to Windows 7

Unlike the  XPS 8910, which is Skylake, the Alienware 17 R4 is Kaby Lake.  Skylake was the very last Intel platform with Windows 7 support.
Kaby Lake is Windows 10 only.

Recently, I changed a monitor from 2560x1440 to 2048x1920 and the X51 updated to Windows 10. Next, without any hardware changes, the XPS 8700 updated to Windows 10.
Aurora R1 is running Windows 7.x
Aurora R3 is running WIndows 7.x
What MS OS can the Aurora R1 support (2560x1440 display, updated GPU)
What MS OS can the Aurora R3 support (2560x1440 display)
Can either move to Windows 8.1.x? Or both?
Can either or both move to Windows 10.x?
What is significantly different between Win 8.1.x Pro and Win 10 Pro?

First there is a free upgrade from Windows 7 OEM to Windows 10 Retail so there is absolutely zero point in purchasing a Windows 8.1 Retail license...
Windows 10 TH2 is essentially a fixed version of Windows 8.1 where Metro Apps work correctly as "Windows".
Almost any system shipped with Windows 7 can run Windows 10. As they are 2009 and 2011 models respectively Dell did not provide updated drivers for Windows 8.x or Windows 10 because they are all out of warranty. All the drivers should be inbuilt into Windows 10 TH2 or automatically obtained via Windows Update. Its advised to update your BIOS to the latest revision before proceeding.
A Clean Installation also in general performs better. See here for details:
Both systems likely have a legacy (non-UEFI) BIOS so take that into account when making the Bootable USB. Although you may want to look at the BIOS settings for the 2011 model to see if there is UEFI support.

Hi, im trying to factory reset my computer because i'm just tired of having a full HD, and random software from years ago. Anyways, my current OS is Windows 7 and I have an Alienware m15x. Now i've read up on a few ways to restore this specific computer, however, I don't have the installation disc, AlienRespawn/DellDataSafe does not appear when press f8 at boot menu, and i don't have a factory system image to recover from apparently. So with this being said, Is there anyway to factory reset? I have a bootable USB drive with windows 7 recovery on it, but I need a system image or something I believe. I've also tried download AlienRespawn Win 7 patch off of alienware.com but when I try to use it it says "Change.MBR failed"

Hi there,
I have an alienware 18 which runs the GTX880m
i recently got a  dell 3007wfp hc, and could not get the promised 2560x1600 resolution
I am using the HDMI port from the laptop with this hdmi cable: 
the audioquest pearl
and this adaptor
Both parts indicated that it is 4k ready.
I have also previously tired this cable
but also resulted in failure
I was able to make a customize tab in the NIVIDIA control pannel for 1920 x 1080 and the image got through, it is however very pixelated.
I was also able to create a tab for 2560x1600, while i hit the "test" button, the screen became black with only one line of pixels.
is there something i missed?

Have been looking for this for quite a while. Alienware Club - Dell Community was not very helpful.

I'm looking now for a device to disable to disable touchpad on my alienware 13.

I've opened Device Manager, but haven't found anything that could disable my touchpad.

In settings I have no such option to disable touchpad.

Maybe anyone has some ideas on that matter?

hello everyone, i am a newbie here.

i got my alienware laptop less than 10 days ago, and it has been restarted itself randomly for 2 times, the first time i was using photoshop and the second time i was just reading some web pages...i have done some research and the problem appeared to be the hardware.

that will be so damn awesome if it's the hardware 'cause i'll have to go all the way 20km to get local dell store to fix it, and they will take weeks maybe just to get some parts...so i hope, it's a system bug.

alienware 15m (that 15inch model, can't remember what's called)
windows7 home prem,
8G ram
650G hard drive
ATI HD 5850 (some people said that it could be the graphics card drive's fault)

A:Why my dell alienware restarts itself randomly?

First, since this things only 10 days old it is certainly under warrenty. I'd be telling Dell straight up to fix this thing and a) either they send someone to get it or b) they give you an RMA # with them paying the shipping both ways.

If you don't want to take this path first then go to their website, find your exact laptop model and update their latest video drivers from there.

! I purchased a Dell 5759 just a few months ago from Amazon. Since its purchase, the battery randomly cuts out at intervals of every few to several days with no triggering events.  I attempted to seek help a few times but apparently my service tag and express service code cannot be recognized by the system.  I've tried calling the Inpsiron help number, but for better or worse, the call is disconnected when my numbers cannot be recognized.
Now I get a Dell Power Management error that the system can no longer communicate with my battery.  It has ceased functioning en toto.  Without being able to register, I cannot get help for this issue, but when I go to email any kind of technical support, the Service Tag or Service Code are the gateway to having access to submitting a ticket.
I'm not sure what else to do at this point. This is a perfectly fine otherwise smooth running computer but I need the battery to work and not cut out at random intervals.  Any ideas would be appreciated.

I got a Dell Inspiron 1545 here and I want to check the system specifications on the Dell site. I always use the Service Tag for Dell systems but this tag isn't recognized.. Even the Express Service Code isn't recognized. I tried to contact through the Chat but it's getting closed everytime because I can only access the Chat for Sales Advisor. All other options for chat or e-mail are all dependent of my Service Tag. Can you please help me to figure out why it isn't working and what the system specifications are according to your system?

And sorry to say but it's a real annoying system that I can't send a mail without a working Service Tag. I've been looking for over an hour and there is no possibility to contact you without a service tag. The only possible way I found was chatting with the Sales Advisor but they closed the chat twice because I should contact the Technical Support.... really.... ..... .....
