I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Recently purchased an HP Envy 32 with B&O audio.  The sound works perfectly fine, but it fades in when audio plays, and the fade takes longer than all system sounds.  if I begin playing music, it takes a couple seconds for the sound to go from nothing to the set volume.  This presents a big problem with system sounds and notifications.  They never play because they are done before the audio has time to fade in.  Is there any way to remove this feature and keep the speakers at full volume?Audio and video are connected via DisplayPort.

Saturday ( yesterday ) I happily received my new Spectre x360 ( with Kaby Lake i7 ).When I wanted to play music or a video, I became less happy.I have been trying for more than 6 hours to get my music volume in a normal state. 1. I play a music or a video, for example on youtube2. The first few seconds, the sounds is good, then the volume turns down3. I can only hear the sound very very soft  I have tried all suggested options I read here on the the forum like the thread B&O Audio: Sound Fades on Laptop Speakers https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Audio/B-amp-O-Audio-Sound-Fades-on-Laptop-Speakers/td-p/57231...  I have tried to reinstall drivers, download other versions and tried to install. I upgraded BIOS and I even resetted the whole laptop, no luckhttp://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04973149 I do believe it is a driver problem. I see different models spectre and I also noticed people with an omen or envy with Ban& Olufsen speakers having same issue. I wonder if the problem is going to be fixed soon. Therefor I am thinking to return laptop as it is still few days old, but rest of the laptop is great, so fixing the sound would be my preferred option. Is there anyone having the solution ....correct driver? ( 6.0.1.7922 was the default installed and latest for spectre, I also found 6.0.1.7930, both have the same issue ). [UPDATE] I thought to try my headphones and see it was playing correc... Read more

I have been looking online for a while now and cannot seem to find any good response on how to fix this problem. I have HP Envy x360 using Windows 10 (64 bit). The audio is managed by Bang & Olufsen. While speakers are working fine, there is a HORRIBLE sound enhancement when I plug in headphones. The bass, trebble, and voice levels are all distorted and ANY setting in the B&O control panel doesn't fix it. I've tried different headphones as well but the problem remains. I hope I can get a straight forward solution to this. All the responses I came across so far either ask to uninstall or install a driver. Hope there is an easier way to fix this.

Recently I purchased this model and configured the speakers by right click speaker icon->playback devices->select Realtek speakers->configure->test and listened that default piano type sound of both the speakers. Eventually the left speaker was fine but a little distortion was there in the right speaker so I contacted the support staff and got my laptop replaced. Meanwhile my DOA was in process so I visited several hp showrooms to test the speakers of the same model I found out the distortion in most of the models. When I got my replaced model in that also the same problem prevailed. Kindly suggest me some measures to solve this or is this the built in glitch in this model's speakers aur some driver problem also I haven't updated my windows. Please help me as the problem is a bit irritating and counts on the product review as well as the bang n Olufsen speakers repo also

I purchased an HP Envy Desktop with the advertised "Premium" Bang & Olufsen sound and the Bang & Olufsen name is printed on the bottom of the front panel on the desktop.  I have a pair of Sony MDR-V150 headphones which use a normal headphone plug.  I had no issues with these headphones on my previous HP Pavilion Desktop which had Beats Audio. When using my headphones on the new HP Envy Desktop the sound level would only go to 50-75% volume even if I set the volume to 100% on my computer.  The sound level was very weak and could not be boosted.  I tried everything from changing drivers, modyfing Bang & Olufsen settings using the provided software, modifying Windows sound settings, etc.  I even called HP support which resulted in me having to PURCHASE a recovery disk to perform a system recovery on my desktop to see if there was an issue with the OS.  There was not. Finally, I went out and purchased a Creative Labs Soundblaster sound card for $30 and installed it in the HP Envy desktop.  My sound level was back to what I was used to with the previous HP desktop that had Beats Audio. My conclusion: the Bang & Olufsen "Premium" sound that's supposed to be the selling point for this series of Envy desktops is nothing but integrated sound on a cheap motherboard installed in the HP Envy Desktops that does not output adequate sound levels for some headphones or speakers.  If you open up your HP Envy Desktop you wi... All sound from the PC fades out over the course of ~2 seconds only to instantly return when a new (loudish) sound is made. It almost feels as if the headset is raising its baseline of noise after a bit and things the normal sounds are just nothing until a loud sound comes in and makes it realize there is still noise to be played. Best way to describe it is having poor thresholds set to a VoIP voice detection, you make a loud noise and it will kick on and detect lower noise for a bit before shutting down again.

Headset is a Skullcandy PLYR2 Wireless Headset USB plugged directly into MoBo

I have not had this issue happen when using my monitor's speakers (HDMI into GPU)

There is no sound card on this PC, and I've not been able to find any sort of software to control the audio processor outside of the windows playback enhancements.

Windows Communications volume attenuation is set to do nothing, VoIP programs are off as well so as to rule out those. No enhancements are on in windows playback enhancements.

When you use a USB connected headphone (wired or wireless) you do not use the PC's sound card, The USB system does the conversion from digital to analog audio. Thus the problem is somewhere in the USB headset system.

Hi,  This laptop came with Conexant audio drivers. It has "Bang & Olufsen" branding logos on the computer itself. In the system tray (bottom right) of the screen, I can access something called "HP Audio Switch". Within that there's a "Bang & Olufsen Audio" link that opens up an application. The reason I found this is because, depending on what I'm doing with my computer, sometimes the audio is very bad sounding, and sometimes it puts out a disturbing bass drone for a few seconds before and after every sound. I am using nice enough 2.1 speakers plugged in to the headphone jack. The performance in audio changes all the time. Looking for a reason why, I found this Bang & Olufsen application pre-installed. Inside the application there's a tab for "Output".  The lower section of this tab is "Bang & Olufsen Experience", which is apparently running some horribly misguided audio acceleration stuff. It's also grayed out meaning I can't access it. If I unplug my speakers from the headphone jack, this section becomes accessible. I can turn the "Bang & Olufsen Experience" off. Sound goes back to normal. As soon as I plug the speakers back in, this section becomes inaccessible again. And in my case, I'm able to continue using the computer, listening to MP3s, etc. and the feature stays in the "off" position. However, as soon as I do something like starting playback of a Youtube video, the "Bang & Olufsen Experience" autom... Hello!  So, I purchased my 15.6 HP ENVY x360 last year in late September at Best Buy and was totally psyched that I had this laptop! Although, it was not until last week that my laptop is acting up where the videos (YouTube, Windows Media Player) freeze or constantly have that "thinking" sign and no audio came from any outlet (iTunes, YouTube, Windows Media Player). I would restart my computer hoping everything works out, however, it did not. My laptop is not even a year old yet. The audio for this computer is by Bang & Olufsen and the speakers are above the keyboard. It was until last Friday when I finally took my laptop into Best Buy since I bought the Geek Squad insurance. The Geek Squad employee did all the testing and we saw that once he turned on my laptop, the videos from YouTube were playing right away, however, there was no audio. They kept my laptop over the weekend and once picked up, they found out that the problems were because my computer was not updated, which is odd because I beleive that I have updated everything through HP support and my laptop settings.  Today, two days later since pickup, the audio once again does not play anymore unfortunately. Once turning on my laptop, the videos and iTunes would play the audio with ease. Yet, once my laptop goes to sleep and logging back in, YouTube videos did not play the audio nor did my iTunes.  So, please, any assistance for the problems that my laptop is dealing with wou... The following error has been seen fairly often with our 840 G3's.  It seems to be related with docking and undocking computers.  As our teachers could be changing docks several times a day, I'm sure we are an extrme usage scenerio.  I'm going to see how disabling this execuatble at startup and using just the system volume control to see if we can get it to stop.

My freshly installed HP spectre X2 12 is supposed to have great sounds powere by Bang & Olufsen. Actually the sound is extremely poor, and the registered device in Control Panel is Conexant SmartAudio HD Any idea if it's needed to do anything else? Shouldn't Bangs & Olufsen appear in Device Manager? Thanks

Hi, Have you installed the following driver yet ?     http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp74001-74500/sp74261.exe No, it will be Conexant High-Definition (HD) Audio. Regards.

I bought a new computer and decided to swap the HD with SSD. I did a clean Windows 10 install and started installing the drivers from HP website. However, I have not been able to find the Bang and Olufsen software that was there originally in the factory shipped version. Another issue is that I connect my monitor to the computer through HDMI because my monitor has inbuild speakers. Now, the speaker icon on the right bottom of taskbar shows no speakers are connected and so no sound comes from the monitor. It worked fine with the factory installed version of Windows 10. I have upgraded my sound drivers to Realtek drivers from HP website. Also, my display does not turn off after the "Turn off Display after xx" setting. It does turn blank/black but does not turn off. Again, this was not an issue with the factory shipped version of Windows.
