I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi All,I just received my lenovo p50.I had ordered it with i7-6700hq & 8gb 2133 ddr4.However when I checked in CPU-Z about the memory and its model, it shows me that it is 2400 DDR4. Does this look ok?? I dont understand it since P50's technical spec says that the one that it supports is 2133 DDR4.Also I called tech support and they told me that based on my serial number they have installed 2133 DDR4 and that is what is visible on their side. How is that even possible.I checked it through different softwares and the part I can see installed is in the photo below. Searched for this part and it is 2400 MhzCan anyone please help on this and what should I do about it? I am worried. Thanks,

Hi,

I would like to increase the memory on my Son's computer, an ASPIRE E 15 (E5-575-51EF) that has a I5-7200U motherboard and a 8 GB DDR 4 RAM memory. The video card is a GeForce 940 MX 2 GB VRAM.

Here are my 2 questions:

1. The computer has two memory slots, can I combine an 8 GB DDR4 memory by inserting a 16 GB DDR4 memory into the second slot?

2. Will this increased memory significantly increase the computers gaming experience playing counterstrike and other online games?

I am not sure if it is worth the $250 investment so a quick reply would be great.

Is a CL=13 DDR4 SODIMM compatible with the P50? I'm planning to get the Kingston HyperX Impact DDR4 2133MHz CL=13 32GB (Kit of 2x16) for my P50. However, on checking manufacturer's websites (Intel, Lenovo, Crucial, Kingston, G-Skill), compatible sodimms for the P50 have CAS Latencies (CL) of 15, 16, or 17. Will the Kingston HX421S13IBK2/32 work on my machine? Has anyone used sodimms with CL=13 on their machine? Thank you.

Hello,In order to make use of dual channel, planning to remove the 4 GB Single Rank DDR4 that comes with my T470 and wondering if I should get 2 x 8 GB dual rank modules or the 16 GB module which would ensure this investment of $180 doesn't go to waste if I intend to decide to get one more 16 GB module in a couple of years down the line. Is there any advantage over getting the 2 x 8 GB sticks? Any thoughts would be great. Thank you. This forum has been extremely helpful. Thanks to everyone. ?? So which one would you prefer:http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/ct8g4sfd824ahttp://www.crucial.com/usa/en/ct16g4sfd824a

A:Crucial DDR4 - 2 x 8 GB Dual Rank or 16 GB DR for T470?

I would always get the single 16GB stick.  You are likely to notice performance difference only if you are running a performance test to impress your friends.  I would always like the chance to add more memory later if I need it, without throwing anything away.

After receiving my T470 I added a 16GB stick of Crucial DDR4 memory and noticed it gets hot while the laptop is suspended; battery usage while suspended is also quite high. I tried this stick alone in both slots and the same thing happens. Of course, with the stock Samsung RAM alone, this does not happen. It stays nice and cool when suspended. This happens with Windows and Linux, so I don't think its an OS issue. Any ideas? Thanks.

This isn't a question, but the answer to a question that I couldn't find the answer to. I went to the computer fair today and got to try before buy a 16GB Kit of DDR3 SODIMM 1333MHz Memory today. It worked just fine.

After exhausting the internet looking for anyone who had done this I'm happy to say I'm probably the first to post success. I hope others can learn from this and be as successful.

The SODIMM's are CMSO8GX3M1A1333C9 Corsair memory

Hello,I got a new laptop HP Probook 440 G4 that came with one 8 GB RAM memory module 2400 MHz CL17 1.2V 260pin SODIMM from Samsung. It has Intel i5 7200 CPU.I was expecting it to come with one 8 GB RAM 2133 MHz memory module, based on their description when I made the order, so I prepared another (my) 8 GB 2133 MHz module to add it to the laptop when it arrives.Would you please help me with a couple of questions, so I can see what options are available to me? 1. Can I mix one  DDR4 8GB 2400MHz CL17 module with one DDR4 8GB 2133MHz CL16 module to make total 16GB RAM? 2. Is it better if I mix one 2400MHz CL17 8GB module with another 2400MHz 8GB but with CL16 ? 3. Can this HP Probook 440 G4 with i5 7200u CPU support 32GB RAM (2 modules of 16GB DDR4 2400MHz CL14 or CL17)? During my work I often run a couple of virtual VBOX machines on my laptop, where each virtual machine uses 8GB of RAM, so having 32GB RAM on the laptop would be useful. Thank you,Buki

A:Mix DDR4 memory 2133 MHz and 2400 MHz RAM modules

Hi Buki,Manual: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05269107According to MSG, it comes with PC4-17000, 2133MHz, DDR4 SODIMMs8-GB , HP part number 820570-001http://partsurfer.hp.com/ShowPhoto.aspx?partnumber=820570-001Both the RAMs are DDR4 1.2V 260-pin SO-DIMM SDRAM.If it is currently harbouring 2400MHz , it down clocks to 2133MHz i.e., configured speed. Latency is nothing to be worried about (CL17, CL14).Page 2, max 16gb is what is listed.Get module with exact specs, voltage, configuration as listed in the manual. It is guaranteed to work.By mixing 2400MHz with 2133MHz, both will work in 2133MHz dual channel mode.Go through page 36, 37 in manual for instructions.RegardsVisruth

Good day, Everybody!
I've just upgraded the stock 4Gb x 2 ddr4 2133 ram to 8Gb x 2 ddr 2400 ram (Kingston HX424S14IBK2/16). However, the new ram works only at 2133 Mhz and I cannot figure out how to enable its XMP profile DDR4-2400 CL14-14-14 @1.2. The ram works at JEDEC DDR4-2133 CL13-13-13 @1.2V. In the ram datasheet (http://www.kingston.com/dataSheets/HX424S14IBK2_16.pdf) there are three profiles indicated:
• JEDEC/PnP: DDR4-2400 CL14-14-14 @1.2VDDR4-2133 CL13-13-13 @1.2V• XMP Profile #1: DDR4-2400 CL14-14-14 @1.2V
So 2400 mode is supported both under XMP and under JEDEC.
How do I enable 2400 CL14 mode?
Crucial offers ram upgrade for e5570 to ddr4 2400 (www.crucial.com/.../CT8071480) claiming full compatibility. However, crucial's ram is rated CL16, not CL14. Can it be that e5570 cannot run ddr4 2400 at CL14? Only at CL16?
Latest bios is installed, win10pro latest upgrades. Tried intel extreme tuning utility, it does not let you adjust ram speed or pick xmp or jedec profiles.

10-31-2015 @ 4.25pm On the A740, I figured out that it will allow 16GB laptop RAM stick in its single memory slot. However, I did find out that a 16GB single-slot laptop memory stick will work on the A740and will get you to 16GB memory on only one memory slot (which the A740 has). The A730 was easier because it has two memory stick slots (so you could do 2 * 8gb = 16GB),but A740 only has one memory slot.  Therefore, you can not go with two of the cheaper 8gbmemory, because you have to spend more on the 16GB single-stick laptop.  So, hopethis helps other people.

I purchased a Crucial 16GB DDR4 2400 SODIMM 1.2V CL17 RAM chip to upgrade my Lenovo IdeaPad 720S-14IKB which had an 8GB RAM chip. I did check the Crucial website beforehand that the CT16G4SFD824A chip would work, and indeed it said that it should. However, it does not work very well. To get the laptop to boot beyond BIOS post (and actually boot Windows), I have to first power it on, then hold the power button for 4 seconds to force shut it down and the hit the exact time to start it again (around 1 second after the power light goes off) to get it to boot. If I do not use this procedure, the screen will not turn on and the Lenovo logo will never show.  I think this is related to the BIOS training the memory chip or something like this, and the process described above circumvents this process. This is the only "semi-reliable" way I have found to boot the machine with this RAM. I have ran tests on the memory while in Windows, and everything seems to work as normal. I believe the problem might be some incompatibility with Lenovo BIOS and this RAM chip but I am unsure of how to proceed from here.  Does anyone have any tips for me, while I know how to get the machine to boot, it is very cumbersome and sometimes results in the need for Windows to "repair" itself which is not exactly great.

On my monitor it works fine, without any issues, but on another monitor, specifically one attached to an Optelec ClearView HD device, it doesn't seem to work. The PC doesn't recognise anything being connected, and the monitor itself doesn't show anything on it. The next part is a bit long to explain, so apologies in advance: The problem monitor connects to a camera for the device, it uses a HDMI to DVI-D connection (the monitor only has a DVI-D or VGA input), and this works, the camera image is visible as expected. What should happen is that the HDMI input on the back of the camera control box can have a HDMI cable put into it from a PC (or laptop and dock in this case), and you can then flick between the camera and the PC input, but this doesn't work, instead when flicking to the PC it displays a black screen. Interestingly the control box doesn't give a red 'x' that it does when nothing is connected, so it knows something is there, but can't display it. To narrow the issue down, I tried connecting the HDMI to DVI-D connection that the camera uses to the Ultra Dock, and that didn't work either. As far as Windows is concerned for both connections (HDMI and HDMI to DVI-D) there's nothing there (I check on the laptop screen under display settings). I've called Optelec about it, and they've not had the same problem, but are looking into it. I was wonderi... Read more

Greetings, I just have a quick question, does the Lenovo X250 or will the X260 be compatible with both an SSD and an MSATA storage option? I plan to buy the X260 sometime in late March, but my biggest concern is swapping out the included 500 GB hard drive, or at least supplementing it with an MSATA 500 GB drive. I am worried about how I am going to get windows 10 on the drive, given that by swaping the main drive I will get rid of the OS. So my plan is to find a way to move the O.S. from the main drive to an MSATA. However, if there is a way for me to simply install a new SSD (500GB) and replace the included 500GB 7200 RPM drive, then I would just rather do that. Not having the CD or CD key seems to make re-installing the OS rather difficult though. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks!

I haven't tried x260, but x250 works with M2 drives. mSATA is old technology

Good Night!I have just bought a laptop, and it has arrived today. When I first turned on it, it has been atualized. Then, when I started to use, I noticed some delays, and I think this is not normal because of the capacity of this laptop. I wanna know if this is normal.

Hello, I have Lenovo t440s and it has 2 memory slots (at least Speccy shows that it has 2 slots). One slot has 8gb module installed and other slot is empty. So basically, would it be possible to add another 8gb module and have 16Gb of ram or 12 is maximu?

A:Lenovo t440s with 16gb ram?

Welcome to the forum!

The 4GB slot is soldered to the motherboard, so you have only one slot free, meaning max RAM stays on 12GB (4GB soldered + 8GB in the free slot).
