Yoga 700 wifi stopped working

Q: Yoga 700 wifi stopped working

This issue started recently, after months of it working fine. The internet just would randomly stop working. I would use the troubleshooting function, it would go through the process and connect to our network, but then when I tried to go to a website, it would say there was no internet. Eventually I was able to get an old Netgear USB Adapter to work. I have tried changing the power settings, removing the drivers in the device manager, and I have the latest wifi driver. I have read many of the help posts on other Yoga wifi issues. Is this a software issue or a hardware issue? Thanks for the help!

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Suddenly my Yoga 12 refuses to list all available wifi networks.  It only lists networks that I have used before, like my cellphone hotspot.  It will not list any new networks, like the Panera Bread or the Pete's I just walked into.  I am sitting in a very commercial area, and there should be at least 12-15 networks showing on the list.  But the only one itI can connect to is my cellphone.   And yes, my wifi adapter is up to date, I just updated the driver.  No change.

A:Yoga 12 has stopped finding new wifi networks

Hi Holmes.

I don't have your machine, my only ideas or suggestions are:

1) Try to remove the device (Windows Device Manager) with a right click select "Uninstall" and select "Delete the driver software for this device". After that reinstall the driver againt.

2) Just in case check if getting closer to the router works at all. If moving it improves, maybe it can be something related to the antenna.

3) Maybe you can try something not official approved by Lenovo like finding an update driver for it. For example sometimes I use "DriverEasy" to find newer wifi drivers on my machines. Only use this if you feel confortable installing/uninstalling drivers on your machine.

This is what it cames to my mind right now. Sorry it is not too much.

Regards

Hey guys,  I bought this Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga 14 about a month ago, and have had no problems with it until about 3 days ago when the wifi internet got really slow and would cut out with in a minute or two of working. During this time, any time I open the notebook and connect to wifi all other devices in the house won't get internet. I've tried browsing through this forum, but the solutions that seemed to work for others have not worked for me. If anyone has experienced this or knows of a solution please let me know. Thank you!

I am using the USB-C port on my Yoga 900-13ISK (Windows 10) to connect to an external monitor. Everything worked fine until this morning for some unexplicable reason the USB-C port stopped sending signal. When I plug in the USB-C adapter (converting to DP) my screen starts and then gives me a message "no signal". I get the same error when trying to connect via another converter to HDMI. Both adapters and cables worked before. I updated my graphics card drivers and of course am extending displays. Any ideas what might cause this problem and how to fix it? Any help would be very much appreciated.

I have a parrot and she's jumped on the keyboard, hitting the key that cycles between laptop display, external display and "both." Yeah, that took me a while to figure out why I couldn't get it to work properly.

The other thing I'd do is try the cable with a different source, such as a PC.

I've been using my 260 for a couple months now and generally have been pleased with it.  Unfortunately, the stylus stopped working while I was using it yesterday and I'm trying to figure out what's gone wrong. I suspect the internal capacitor is no longer charging, but I'm unsure how to check.  If it is a charging issue, is it possible that it's an OS driver issue?  A few weeks ago I changed my OS from Windows 10 to Ubuntu and if the stylus has a very impressive battery life it's possible it's just finally worn out, but I find it odd that this would be OS dependent, as doesn't the stylus charge even if the PC is off? If anyone can shed some light on this issue, it would be much appreciated.  Google has failed to provide me any helpful information and I'd really like to avoid reinstalling Windows 10 just to see if it starts charging my stylus - especially if it doesn't help!

I'm hoping someone can help me with the audio problem on my notebook. After owning my Yoga for about 2 months, the audio stopped working.  I don't know exactly when it stopped, I don't recall that it stopped directly after a windows update or anything like that.  I am using the factory loaded Windows 10.  The speaker icon in the task bar has a small red X on it.  When I click the icon Windows goes through a troubleshooting process and tells me it found a fix and asks me to click the button to apply the fix and then restart, but the problem persists.  If I right click and choose playback devices, the only two things that show up are my bluetooth speaker - nothing related to the internal audio.  If I go into device manager, under "other devices" there are two entries for "Intel High Definition Audio."  Previously there was one entry, I don't know when the second shows up.  If I right click and select update driver, windows does a search online but does not find an update. I have also gone to the Lenovo site and downloaded and installed the audio driver listed there but the problem continues. I took it into geek squad since I purchased it at Best Buy, and the guy looked at it for a couple minutes and told me it's a hardware problem and it will need to be sent in for repair. Any thoughs?  Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I went into device manager and the usb ports don't show up anymore under the Universal Serial Bus controller tree. The only device that stills works, thankfully, is the charger which plugs into the special usb port. If anyone knows a solution i would be grateful, thank you.

After a Window's update, my trackpad stopped working. After searches online for how to fix the issue, I noticed that the trackpad was completely unistalled from my computer (vs. just being disabled). I went to the Lenovo website and re-downloaded the driver, which fixed the issue..... for a few weeks. Now my trackpad stopped working again (randomly mid use...I had not restarted my computer or anything), with no further windows updates occuring. I looked and it is once again, unistalled. I tried to download the driver again, but it didn't fix the issue this time. How do I get my trackpad back installed and working?

Two-finger scrolling has suddenly stopped working on my Yoga 710. A reboot hasn't worked. Two-finger zoom still works, but when I try to scroll it malfunctions. Pulling two fingers down on the touchpad minimises the window. Pushing two fingers up takes me to miniature view of all my open windows. Very occasionally it will scroll slightly in one direction but not the other, but I can't get it to happen often enough to work out why it works occasionally. What is going wrong? EDIT: It now seems that the zoom is a bit finicky too. It works much of the time when I try to enlarge or shrink Facebook in my browser, but not all the time.

Yesterday evening, the USB-C ports of my Lenovo Yoga 920 stopped working suddenly. While working with the computer, the connected external monitor and the laptop screen both went dark and I couldn't revive them by disconnecting/reconnecting any cables or by pressing any keys on the laptop. In the end, I had to force a hard restart of the Yoga 920 by pressing the power button on the right. After rebooting the laptop, I noticed that it completely failed to communicate with any devices connected to the USB-C port, including my external monitor, keyboard, mouse and Ethernet network. First suspecting an issue with the connected USB-C hub (Kensington USB-C Universal Dock 60W (SD4600P)), I performed a full power recycle, including detaching/attaching cables, of all involved components. This had no result. I noticed then in the Windows 10 Device Manager (devmgmt.msc), that the USB device "UCSI USB Connector Manager" was marked as not working (yellow exclamation mark). The status of the device was:This device cannot start. (Code 10) STATUS_DEVICE_POWER_FAILURE Disabling/removing/reinstalling this device in Windows 10 had no effect on the issue. Then I noticed that the laptop didn't charge while connected to the power supply from Lenovo, which was delivered with the laptop. There are two USB-C ports on the left side of the laptop. The one towards the back is marked as the one to use for charging. It didn't work any more. I had to connect the USB-C cable from th... Hi, I just bought a ThinkPad Yoga 460 and I have a strange problem. The internal keyboard does not work any more across operating systems, so this isn't software specific. However, the keyboard *does* work in the beginning a cold start until the operating system boots - I can enter the BIOS settings, navigate around there, I can enter the onboard diagnostics utility, everything works fine - until an operating system boots. If I just reboot without turning the computer off, the internal keyboard doesn't work. I even restored factory settings, so I am writing this from an Ubuntu Live USB with an external keyboard until I have figured out how to restore EFI, but the keyboard still isn't working. The problem occured after a long time of using only the external keyboard, so I can't exactly tell what I was doing when it happened. I'm guessing it has to do with the rotation sensor being stuck, but what would be the point of disabling the keyboard if it's physically impossible to press any buttons in tablet mode... Also, the touch pad keeps working anyway. I removed Windows from the laptop and I don't think there'd be an easy way to get it back, so I hope any solutions would work on Linux too. Best regards,Malte

Hello, I have a X1 Yoga 1st gen bought around 1 year back. It had a fan problem which finally solved only after a replacement of the fan. I received my laptop yesterday and since then the WiFi doesnt work anymore. It worked prefectly before I gave it for repair. It doesn't connect at all OR if I put it right next to the router, it picks up an extremely weak signal that is of no use. I have tried updating the drivers to the latest one (from Lenovo support website, ver 20.3). But this hasnt resolved the issue. Could you please tell me how to fix this? It is annoying to buy something worth $3000 that has all kinds of problems from the get go! First the fan and now the WiFi. Thanks!

I have Brother wifi printer that I installed in win8.1 about a year back and it has been working fine. In the Devices and Printers in Control Panel, it shows as OK, as default, but not ready. And, sure enough, it does not print to it.

I tried everything I could think of to make it print as another win8.1 and also a win7-pro laptop both print just fine, even my main Linux laptop prints OK.

I decided to delete the printer and re-add it. I started the process and it scanned for a few seconds, found the printer and displayed it in the "Found" box. At that point, I was called away so I clicked "Cancel." figuring I can get back to it later.

Now no matter what I try, it will not "find" the printer again with the "Add Printer.".

Has win8.1 taken my "cancel" and assumed I meant forget it forever or what?

Any suggestions on how to get it to "find" the printer again?

Thanks

In 2011, my daughter aquired an HP Probook 6555b in connection with a college class she was taking. The computer came with Windows 7 preinstalled. The college uninstalled Windows 7 and installed XP so the computers would be compatable with their class programs. Now that she has finished her classes, we/I reinstalled Windows 7 using the disks that came with the computer. Everything works fine except for the wifi. I used the Driver Recovery Disk to install/reinstall the Ethernet driver to no avail. I am able to connect to the internet via an ethernet cable. Prior to upgrading to Windows 7 the wifi worked just fine. Divice Manager says the Marvell Yukom 88E8059 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller is working properly.
I downloaded AVG free anti-virus and ran a scan, 3 threats were detected (adware) and removed. When I upgraded to Windows a file named 'Windows.old' was placed on Local Disk C. That is where the threats were located.

Hi and welcome to TSF!!!

Please check the device manager to see if the wireless device is still installed; make sure you do not have anything with an !, ?, or a red X next to it.

Check to see if your wireless service is running:
Click on START
Click on RUN
Type SERVICES.MSC
Click on OK
Locate the "Wireless Zero Configuration" service
Double click on it
Make sure it is set to START TYPE: Automatic
If the service is not running, please click on START to start the service.

Thanks!

I would try and forget my network, but there are no remembered networks on my sistem. Really need help. Thank you in advance.
