Yoga 700 wifi stopped working

Q: Yoga 700 wifi stopped working

This issue started recently, after months of it working fine. The internet just would randomly stop working. I would use the troubleshooting function, it would go through the process and connect to our network, but then when I tried to go to a website, it would say there was no internet. Eventually I was able to get an old Netgear USB Adapter to work. I have tried changing the power settings, removing the drivers in the device manager, and I have the latest wifi driver. I have read many of the help posts on other Yoga wifi issues. Is this a software issue or a hardware issue? Thanks for the help!

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Suddenly my Yoga 12 refuses to list all available wifi networks.  It only lists networks that I have used before, like my cellphone hotspot.  It will not list any new networks, like the Panera Bread or the Pete's I just walked into.  I am sitting in a very commercial area, and there should be at least 12-15 networks showing on the list.  But the only one itI can connect to is my cellphone.   And yes, my wifi adapter is up to date, I just updated the driver.  No change.

A:Yoga 12 has stopped finding new wifi networks

Hi Holmes.

I don't have your machine, my only ideas or suggestions are:

1) Try to remove the device (Windows Device Manager) with a right click select "Uninstall" and select "Delete the driver software for this device". After that reinstall the driver againt.

2) Just in case check if getting closer to the router works at all. If moving it improves, maybe it can be something related to the antenna.

3) Maybe you can try something not official approved by Lenovo like finding an update driver for it. For example sometimes I use "DriverEasy" to find newer wifi drivers on my machines. Only use this if you feel confortable installing/uninstalling drivers on your machine.

This is what it cames to my mind right now. Sorry it is not too much.

Regards

Hey guys,  I bought this Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga 14 about a month ago, and have had no problems with it until about 3 days ago when the wifi internet got really slow and would cut out with in a minute or two of working. During this time, any time I open the notebook and connect to wifi all other devices in the house won't get internet. I've tried browsing through this forum, but the solutions that seemed to work for others have not worked for me. If anyone has experienced this or knows of a solution please let me know. Thank you!

I am using the USB-C port on my Yoga 900-13ISK (Windows 10) to connect to an external monitor. Everything worked fine until this morning for some unexplicable reason the USB-C port stopped sending signal. When I plug in the USB-C adapter (converting to DP) my screen starts and then gives me a message "no signal". I get the same error when trying to connect via another converter to HDMI. Both adapters and cables worked before. I updated my graphics card drivers and of course am extending displays. Any ideas what might cause this problem and how to fix it? Any help would be very much appreciated.

A:Yoga 900 USB-C stopped working

I have a parrot and she's jumped on the keyboard, hitting the key that cycles between laptop display, external display and "both." Yeah, that took me a while to figure out why I couldn't get it to work properly.

The other thing I'd do is try the cable with a different source, such as a PC.

I'm hoping someone can help me with the audio problem on my notebook. After owning my Yoga for about 2 months, the audio stopped working.  I don't know exactly when it stopped, I don't recall that it stopped directly after a windows update or anything like that.  I am using the factory loaded Windows 10.  The speaker icon in the task bar has a small red X on it.  When I click the icon Windows goes through a troubleshooting process and tells me it found a fix and asks me to click the button to apply the fix and then restart, but the problem persists.  If I right click and choose playback devices, the only two things that show up are my bluetooth speaker - nothing related to the internal audio.  If I go into device manager, under "other devices" there are two entries for "Intel High Definition Audio."  Previously there was one entry, I don't know when the second shows up.  If I right click and select update driver, windows does a search online but does not find an update. I have also gone to the Lenovo site and downloaded and installed the audio driver listed there but the problem continues. I took it into geek squad since I purchased it at Best Buy, and the guy looked at it for a couple minutes and told me it's a hardware problem and it will need to be sent in for repair. Any thoughs?  Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I've been using my 260 for a couple months now and generally have been pleased with it.  Unfortunately, the stylus stopped working while I was using it yesterday and I'm trying to figure out what's gone wrong. I suspect the internal capacitor is no longer charging, but I'm unsure how to check.  If it is a charging issue, is it possible that it's an OS driver issue?  A few weeks ago I changed my OS from Windows 10 to Ubuntu and if the stylus has a very impressive battery life it's possible it's just finally worn out, but I find it odd that this would be OS dependent, as doesn't the stylus charge even if the PC is off? If anyone can shed some light on this issue, it would be much appreciated.  Google has failed to provide me any helpful information and I'd really like to avoid reinstalling Windows 10 just to see if it starts charging my stylus - especially if it doesn't help!

Hi, I just bought a ThinkPad Yoga 460 and I have a strange problem. The internal keyboard does not work any more across operating systems, so this isn't software specific. However, the keyboard *does* work in the beginning a cold start until the operating system boots - I can enter the BIOS settings, navigate around there, I can enter the onboard diagnostics utility, everything works fine - until an operating system boots. If I just reboot without turning the computer off, the internal keyboard doesn't work. I even restored factory settings, so I am writing this from an Ubuntu Live USB with an external keyboard until I have figured out how to restore EFI, but the keyboard still isn't working. The problem occured after a long time of using only the external keyboard, so I can't exactly tell what I was doing when it happened. I'm guessing it has to do with the rotation sensor being stuck, but what would be the point of disabling the keyboard if it's physically impossible to press any buttons in tablet mode... Also, the touch pad keeps working anyway. I removed Windows from the laptop and I don't think there'd be an easy way to get it back, so I hope any solutions would work on Linux too. Best regards,Malte

Yesterday evening, the USB-C ports of my Lenovo Yoga 920 stopped working suddenly. While working with the computer, the connected external monitor and the laptop screen both went dark and I couldn't revive them by disconnecting/reconnecting any cables or by pressing any keys on the laptop. In the end, I had to force a hard restart of the Yoga 920 by pressing the power button on the right. After rebooting the laptop, I noticed that it completely failed to communicate with any devices connected to the USB-C port, including my external monitor, keyboard, mouse and Ethernet network. First suspecting an issue with the connected USB-C hub (Kensington USB-C Universal Dock 60W (SD4600P)), I performed a full power recycle, including detaching/attaching cables, of all involved components. This had no result. I noticed then in the Windows 10 Device Manager (devmgmt.msc), that the USB device "UCSI USB Connector Manager" was marked as not working (yellow exclamation mark). The status of the device was:This device cannot start. (Code 10) STATUS_DEVICE_POWER_FAILURE Disabling/removing/reinstalling this device in Windows 10 had no effect on the issue. Then I noticed that the laptop didn't charge while connected to the power supply from Lenovo, which was delivered with the laptop. There are two USB-C ports on the left side of the laptop. The one towards the back is marked as the one to use for charging. It didn't work any more. I had to connect the USB-C cable from th... Two-finger scrolling has suddenly stopped working on my Yoga 710. A reboot hasn't worked. Two-finger zoom still works, but when I try to scroll it malfunctions. Pulling two fingers down on the touchpad minimises the window. Pushing two fingers up takes me to miniature view of all my open windows. Very occasionally it will scroll slightly in one direction but not the other, but I can't get it to happen often enough to work out why it works occasionally. What is going wrong? EDIT: It now seems that the zoom is a bit finicky too. This seems to happen whenever a Windows update goes out, and I have to wait for Lenovo to provide firmware/bios/driver updates that fix the problem.  I have to say that this recurring bad experience will weigh heavily into my next purchasing decision.  I paid a lot extra for a touchscreen that breaks with every Windows update, and the wait for a fix is often quite long. What is the ETA for this next round of fixes from Lenovo?

I purchased a Yoga 2 13 (SN: CB29722715) laptop from US with IWS. Some time back various keys on the laptop stopped working, including Ctrl, 1, 3, 5, and others, making it useless unless you also carry another laptop around. I took it to the repair center in Allahabad, India, but the service center returned it saying that the parts are not available in India. Surely there must be a way to obtain these parts? I've tried to contact Lenovo support on chat and phone, but all they can tell me is to take it to the service center. I finally got in touch with a senior tech support person, who informed via email that the parts required were FRU 25215052 and FRU 25215053, but again, I was informed that these parts were not available with Lenovo (anywhere??) and have not heard anything further since (this was two days ago). Is the IWS completely useless in this case? Is there anything I can do apart from junking the laptop?

This evening I was working on pairing my iPhone to my XP computer. Somewhere in the middle I noticed that my WIFI connection had stopped working.

I configure my WIFI with the Windows software in XP SP3.
I can connect to the router with other devices in the house.
I can get internet if I plug an Ethernet cable into the router.
I have tried hitting repair.
I have tried rebooting the computer and router.
I have tried deleting the connection and replacing it.
I have looked in the device manager to make sure there are no warnings.
I have verified that the HP software has the WIFI card on.
I have logged into the router and verified that the passwords match.
I have reset TCP/IP stack to installation defaults with: netsh int ip reset reset.log
I have reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults with: netsh winsock reset catalog and then rebooted.

When I try to connect it says "Waiting for the network." then it times out. I am sure that in setting up bluetooth tethering I corrupted something but I can't find anything that has changed. What can I try next?

Connecting to my home network is not possible, it comes up "unable to connect to this network". I have read up online and tried to delete/reinstall and update drivers, tried to delete and reinstall wireless router, tried to renew ip. This is where the problem comes in. As I try to renew or config ip, it comes up with "media disconnected" for all wireless, ethernet and bluetooth sections. No action can be performed when media is disconnected. I would try and forget my network, but there are no remembered networks on my sistem. Really need help. Thank you in advance.
