Base64? How do i encode and get these results?

Q: Base64? How do i encode and get these results?

ok i have this password encrypt and decrypt function in a dll that i can run from an exe. And i want to duplicate the encrypt and decrypt function but in vb.net only. I cannot use the dll in the project. Im not sure eactly how they encrypt it, but i believe it might be some sort of Base64. Peaking in the the dll i see this:

im guessing its the "salt" or character set or something...

when encoding a string, it seems to always put a equal sign (=) on the end. And if i decode it without the equal sign it will still still return the origonal string.

when i enter a single character and then encode, it always gives me a 12 charater string(includeing the =)

when i enter more than 8 characters, it will encode to a 24 character string.

I have unlimited examples so here is a few.

Preferred Solution: Base64? How do i encode and get these results?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

It is possible to do the same with Message Analyzer?

I am trying to help someone view a file received via forwarded e-mail. Quick View Plus only identifies it as a Base64 Encoded file and says click here to view but when I click it shows only ASCII coding. I have tried to decipher the e-mail as HTML and MIM without luck. It is one of those that has been forwarded through several different e-mail systems and ISPs. Anyone have a clue about Base64 Encoded files?

A friend sent me a Home Movie DVD that will not play on my DVD player (VHS DVD combo Magnavox MWD 2206) but will play on Windows Media Player. The DVD has video_ts and audio_ts subfolders. I have played around with it a little (making an image and burning the image ect.) but my DVD player alway says there is an error and playback may not be available on this disk. I have several programs downloaded (I have converted avi's to dvd and such) that might be helpful.

I want to encode characters which have ascii 33 to 126 to ascii 33 to 126 based on a seed (a number) and the position of characters. For example, "ABC&$KL" will be encoded to something like "()WESDL". I just cannot think of an algorithm which must include using a seed and the position of characters that will work to encode and then decode.

Thank you for any help.

We stream our church service live on the internet, saving it at the same time to archive on our website.
This is all new to me, and we have a big problem. We have been using the VLC player to stream the live video and save the file. It - from what I understand, saves this as an .asf file. I then rename it to an .avi file and bring it home to convert it to a .wmv file to upload to our website.
Twice now, the .avi file will not encode. Both times the encoder will start, and get to about 4% of the first pass and then just stop. I tried again, using the .asf file and got an error message that "parameter is incorrect" - I don't know what that means. Of the total five times we have done this stream/save thru VLC, it has given us a file that will encode three times, and two that won't.
Tried putting it into virtual dub to see if I could salvage it - but virtual dub does not support .asf files.
Is there anything I can do to make this file encode? The website uses a Helix server for streaming, and will not recognize an .avi file. It has to be RealMedia or .wmv
It has been very frustrating to try and solve this problem, as I have no idea why it is failing. The file is 144MB.
Any help you can give me would be enormously appreciated!
Any other programs that might be more reliable than VLC for the stream/save process would also be appreciated.
Thanks so much!

I would have replied to the thread at Windows DVD Maker fails at 99% but that thread is stale.

While attempting to burn an unprotected WMV file to DVD using Windows DVD Maker, the process skips to 99% and then fails with the error message "Cannot create the DVD. An error occurred when burning the DVD.". I have no third-party codecs installed (as far as I know). This is a fairly-clean Vista Ultimate 64-bit SP1 system.

I find that if I use Windows Movie Maker to create the file (even though it ultimately launches Windows DVD Maker to publish to DVD), the process completes without the error.

I find the same behavior on my Dad's Vista Ultimate 32-bit SP1 system, but it has Nero and custom codec packages installed.

Is there any way to track down which codec might be preventing DVD Maker from proceeding? Why does it work when processed through Windows Movie Maker? It seems to me if Windows Movie Maker and Windows Media Player can handle the content, Windows DVD Maker should be able to do the same.

Has anyone found an answer to this problem?

A:DVD Maker fails to encode WMV file

I've disabled all of the codecs in Windows Movie Maker (the only one was an "AVI Decompressor"), but the problem still occurs.

I'm not sure if I've even phrased the title correctly there, but can someone please tell me whether I can upgrade my graphics card to speed up HD video transcoding? My Pentium D Dual Core 2.8 is taking a ridiculous amount of time and I need another option.

Second question:
I have Corel Videostudio Pro X2: would this be able to use the Graphics card acceleration?

Dell Dimension 5150 with 3GB RAM, running Windows XP SP3

A:Using Graphics Card to Encode Video

Some programs can do something in video editing with nVidia's CUDA, but not Corel Videostudio Pro X2, and the ones that can use CUDA, only have limited things that CUDA can handle, so it's just not worth the hassle... You would in an optimal situation cut something like 20% off your project time consumption, that is after you learned to use the new program and whatnot...

How do I encode URL addresses? PHProxy does a great job with that, but sites like youtube.com and newgrounds.com don't work well in PHProxy, they don't work at all. I saw something about SSH tunnelling to bypass filters, but I don't think that works against keyword filters.

Is there any way to encode just the URL and have it work on youtube.com? I think PHProxy disabled some things needed for the sites to run properly so it's not really useful. All I need is to have the URL encoded to bypass the filters.

It appears all my drives are there in the Device Manager.

I go to Disk Management and it shows this:

What should I do??? I don't want to format it! And how can Windows be booting? This is my brother's PC so I don't know exactly how it was set up but I assume that 128GB drive is an SSD and I would assume that he set that as the boot drive with Windows.

I just want to return the system back to the way it was before the BSOD.

Hey. Just recently i have been having this problem where when i search for something on google, yahoo, etc. and then click on the page i want to go to i get a completly different page. I go to a different site each time and for me to get to the right page i have to click back then click it again. Hello everyone. I am having some issues with my Gateway MT6707 with Windows Vista home ed. My problems are as follows:
1)I am unable to access my C drive, unless in Safe Mode.
2)Unable to achieve auto updates for Vista.
3)Malwarebytes wont run.

I was told by the Geek Sqaud that I probably had a virus or corrupt drive and needed to use the recovery disk that came with the laptop to erase everthing and start over.
I thought that I would get a second opinion and do some research. So I downloaded Hijackthis and ran the program and have no idea what any of the results mean. Attached is the Hijackthis results and a DDS result that I ran as suggested from a previous post I read. If anyone can help, this would be greatly appreciated.

Hi folks. New to forum :-). Yesterday I upgraded two Dell laptops and my desktop machine to Windows 10. I am really liking it so far. But I have two things I can't seem to resolve:

1. Search - On my two Dell laptops if I search for, say, User Account Control, at the top of the search results I will get a local result saying Change User Account Control settings. That result will be in grey. But on my desktop machine, if I enter the same search, I don't get any grey result at the top. All I can get on that machine is web results. I don't know what's different. I have initialized Cortana on all three machines the same way (I think). Can someone help me understand why I am not getting local results on the desktop machine?

2. One of my Dell laptops has a fingerprint reader. It was working for logins when I had Windows 7 on the machine. Now that I have Windows 10 on the machine I cannot figure out how to get the reader working again. Anyone have any suggestions?

A:Can't get local search results on one machine (only web results)

set up some Win10 PCs.

disable networking. logged out and logged back in.

some of the machines now FAIL to do a local search.

any search terms type after hitting the Windows key, or typed into the search box produce NO results.

Microsoft is receiving *all* searches even if web search is disabled in search settings:
turned networking back on
opened cmd and netstat -aon; no connections to www ips
type a search for "notepad" in search box
my computer connects to a Microsoft IP address!

This is ridiculous!

I experienced a similar issue but not identical.  AVG reports "inline hook ntoskrnl.exe PsCreateSystemThread+0x455 -> 0x00000008".  This file has a history at Microsoft, but my version is 5.1.2600.6419 which is well past the previous problem files. I also have Avast anti-virus that has no issues with the file.  Should I be concerned?

Hello -
If you have no current problems then it is just a notice (rather than problem).
Run a Full Scan with your Updated Antivirus, and we hope it is gone now .

Hello Mystic Knight, I (as well as MicroSoft, McAfee and Symantec) recommend that you DO NOT have more than one anti virus product installed and running on your computer at a time. The reason for this is that if both products have their automatic (Real-Time) protection switched on, then those products which do not encrypt the virus strings within them can cause other anti virus products to cause "false alarms". It can also lead to a clash as both products fight for access to files which are opened again this is the resident/automatic protection. In general terms, the two programs may conflict and cause:1) False Alarms: When the anti virus software tells you that your PC has a virus when it actually doesn't.2) System Performance Problems: Your system may lock up due to both products attempting to access the same file at the same time. Therefore please go to add/remove in the control panel and remove one of these. This vondu keeps coming back but in different forms. I thought I destroyed it but now its back again. Now it saved the sysguard in system and along with that it downloaded a bunch of crap I never seen before. I started to delete some then I ran into your message board. I stoped deleting stuff now and going to hand over the controls to you. everytime I boot up the iexplorer is starting to show up as a systems files (weird huh). The new thing its doing is taking over my Firefox and iexplorer and trying to go to a webpage that both firefox and iexplorer blocks. Files in my taskmanager load up automaticly then the fake antivirus bullcrap pops up aagain. this is getting annoying and my computer is running way slower than before. Scratch last my internet is working way slower than before.

I am getting a 400 gig storage drive in this week so I can transfer over my graphics files.

I WAS having a lot of problems with my machine running Windows 7 (pro). These problems included random system crashes and once in a while a BSOD. Nothing serious (that I can tell anyway <grin>). I ran the All-In-One repair tool from Tweaking.com. That fixed most everything (no more BSOD's & much improved over all performance). I'm still having issues but now it's just annoying not critical (I think). I ran sfc /scannow and got "errors in system files". sfc could not repair them. I don't have the exact errors, if someone needs those error names let me know and I'll get them. I did, however, attach my CBS.log. If someone needs anything more. let me know.

I apologize if this is posted in an incorrect area. If anyone has time to look at this I would sincerely appreciate it.

MSE at the moment. I have always missed the signature update since my PC are not up 24/7 and because MSE is check for updates once every 24 hours. MSE won't play the catch-up to update the signature either. So I went back to Avast for a week or two.

But after I tweaked the registry from once every 24 down to once every 2 hours now I came back to MSE for good.

The first time I ran MS SE was along the free version of AVG until one day not having the AVG security toolbar enabled saw a trojan getpast both! That's when I decided to followup on the advice to give the VIPRE Premium a good look over.

That has everything rolled into one software and has shown itself the best run so far. Includes all forms of malware protection layers including rootkit protection. Blocks bad sites out completely before you stumble into trojans and other things. But it doesn't come free.

Was wondering.

Heard alot of people with 8 series cards reporting WEI scores for graphics around 6.x. Any reason my 640MB 8800GTS appears to be stuck at 5.9 no matter how far I try and push it clock-wise or no matter which driver version I try? I understand WEI doesn't really mean much but its more for bragging rights :P

Any ideas?

A:Odd WEI Results, or is it just me?

fwiw, in the beta my HD got 6.0. in 7100 it gets 5.9.. so I wouldn't trust WEI too much
I've noticed my CPU score does go up when I overclock (went up .2 points going from 2.6 to 3.3)

I the bet GPU for games might not be only based on performance.. it's probably also based on feature set. I have the same card in my old computer.. but i forget what my WEI score was... Maybe Pixel shader 2 gets you .1 points, PS 3 gets you .2, PS4 gets .4, etc. for instance, and then the actual performance (calculations / second) is the "remainder" points

So perhaps all the overclocking you are doing is not enough to overcome a significant amount?

(I wish microsoft would disclose how it calculates WEI score)

I am troubleshooing an office computer that is slow. I ran SuperAntiSpyware and MalwareBytes, but when I run them again (I had to as it was still slow after I left first time), it yields the same results. Why is this?

A:Same results

Are you still having this problem? If so, it may be due to other malware being present, or a program stopping the removals.

Download TFC by OldTimer to your desktop

Please double-click TFC.exe to run it. (Note: If you are running on Vista, right-click on the file and choose Run As Administrator).
It will close all programs when run, so make sure you have saved all your work before you begin.
Click the Start button to begin the process. Depending on how often you clean temp files, execution time should be anywhere from a few seconds to a minute or two. Let it run uninterrupted to completion.
Once it's finished it should reboot your machine. If it does not, please manually reboot the machine yourself to ensure a complete clean.

I found the [sr] tags in the cbs log file. some of them refer to amd which I don't have. At any rate, is there any way to manually repair these files?

Without seeing CBS log lines in question it's impossible to comment.
If you have 64-bit Windows "amd" not necessarily refers to a processor type.

What kind of issues are you having?
