Preferred Solution: If this is the wrong place for this, please guide me to the correct spot.

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

This is a listing of 18 major gold farming locations in World of Warcraft. The listing is pretty much biased towards higher level zones simply because farming gold with a low level character isn’t very smart at all. It’s much faster to level up your character to level 60 on some crappy equipment and then start earning gold for all the stuff you want to buy.
Hopefully competition for these farming spots doesn’t increase too much after I publish this guide.
Happy farming!
Defias Trappers
In the Western shore of Westfall there is a small outpost that’s surrounded by level 12-13 Defias Trappers. This is a great farming spot for low level and even high level players because these Trappers respawn super fast. These Trappers have a 35% drop rate for Linen Cloth so higher level can fill their backbag with Linen Cloth very quickly while lower level
players can use this spot to grind for experience

hi.i hope you can help me.at christmas i bought my 12 yr old daughter a laptop that has been fantastic for her.but we have come across a problem the laptop wont update from windows updates. i know very little about computers so i am not sure what to do,we have tried and tried but nothing ever updates. when we look at the update history it seems that updates stopped workin on the 25 may.also from this morning avg free (the latest version).went gray we opened it and it said it needed updating we did this but every half hour the box went grey again and we would update it again.after doing this a few times i have uninstalled it.and we now have nothing instead of avg.i would like to put it back on as i am familier with avg rather than anything else.but i cant keep updating it every few mins.would this happen again if i download it again.am sorry if this thread is in the wrong place and will happilly change it if you let me know should it be.thanks in advance from karrie

well if you have mp3 downloaded to the computer that you are transfering to the ipod with then all you should have to do is use the native windows burning software and that will burn them to cd while keeping the mp3 format and not converting them to the wmv format... that is what i do so i don't to use any third party software or buy one for that fact. as far as the converting to the m4a format from mp3 you should be ok unless you are getting an error that is saying that it cannot save to the ipod due to format issues.. then you might need to get a mp3 converter software that has the ability to convert to m4a. that is just a guess on that man not too good with ipods never used one.. but the mp3 to cd i have done thousands of so you should be fine there mate.. by the way do not use the windows media player to burn to cd cause that will reformat them to wmv just right click the album or songs that you want and send them to the cdr-rw drive and then click the ballon that pops up and that will keep the format of mp3

I purchased a Samsung SSD 840 Pro, prior to installation I set the BIOS to AHCI. Put the SSD in and migrated my OS onto the new HD.

It wasn't until after a few boot ups, I noticed it was skipping the boot order of CD/DVD then HD. I double checked the BIOS to make sure this was indeed the correct boot order, it was.

I needed to boot off my Vista Disk, however, because it was skipping the boot order it didn't boot from the Disk.

The only way I could think of to get my boot order back, was to switch the BIOS back to IDE. Rebooted and it read the Disk.

What I would like, is to KEEP MY BOOT ORDER CD/DVD then HD.

Motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3P.

Any suggestions?

I contacted Gigabyte this was there response :-

Dear Susan,

Thank you for your kindly mail and inquiry. About the issue you mentioned, please change the battery and the model of the battery is CR2032. You can use any manufacturer for the bettery, but make sure the bettery model is CR2032 for 3V. After you change the battery, you may check if BIOS could work properly.

A:Not sure if this is the correct place to post.....

Does the computer have a Fn key you can press at boot time to bring up a Boot menu where you can choose what device to boot?
On my Dell it's F11, on my Lenovo it's F2.

You can try resetting BIOS as follows:

1. Power down the computer and unplug the power cord.
2. Open the case and remove the CMOS (CR2032) battery.
3. Press and hold the power button for 10 cesonds or so.
4. Replace the CMOS battery.
5. Plug in the power cord and power up.

You should get a CMOS error, Press F1 to continue, F2 to enter Setup. Press F2.
See if there is an option of Fn key to load defaults. If yes, do it.
Set date and time then check Boot order/priority and set the way you want.

See if that helps.

A simple guide to a successful in-place upgrade

You have most likely heard that a clean (custom) install is the preferred install method when migrating to Windows 7. That is most certainly true. However, there are situations when in-place upgrade is more practical method to use. Tens, maybe hundreds of gigs software installed, no install media found for the software and so on.

You might have heard horror stories about non-working Seven and how it’s all in-place upgrade’s fault, or how an in-place leaves so much unwanted and not used pieces and bits it seriously puts your system in danger, at least making it slow. Most of these horror stories come from two types of users, those who have never done a Vista to Seven in-place upgrade but have heard third hand information and rumours, and those who have not prepared installation as it should be prepared.

I have done a lot of in-place upgrades, both from XP to Vista and lately from Vista to Seven. I have even successfully tried a one-session XP to Seven via Vista in-place upgrade (in-place XP to Vista, installing service packs and drivers and then directly in-place further to Seven), to show some colleagues how to do a safe and working upgrade. I have never encountered any upgrade related problems; I do have had my share of installation problems and issues but I’ve always found out that after failing to do an in-place upgrade, the same issue has occurred also after a clean install. Most often the reason... Read more

Can you spot what's wrong with my screenshot?I wasn't paying attention and I "moved" something. Homegroup is empty and I believe Network is supposed to be in it. Can you help me get it back in there. Sadly, I can't simply drag and drop it into Homegroup.

A:Something's wrong with my screenshot. Can you spot it?

Homegroup...should reflect the systems you are networked to, using the Win 7 password-network feature. It therefore cannot include any systems you are connected to which do not run Win 7.

Network is designed to reflect any existing systems (XP, Vista, etc.) where a network existed before and you joined the Win 7 system to.

They are not one and the same and my Win 7 reflects them exactly as yours do...but I have systems in my Network because I joined my Win 7 install to my former XP network.

If you have no networks at all...I would expect the screen that you reflect.

I just have a general question. I've noticed over the past few weeks that my computer takes a relatively long time to boot up. It starts fine, it's just that I seem to have a hell of a lot of applications that boot up when I start Windows.

What I'm wondering is how I can change it so that I can have fewer applications starting up when Windows boots up.

I know this is probably a pretty lame question but I really don't want to go fooling around with stuff when I don't know what I'm doing! )

Thanks in advance for any advice.

A:Startup question (sorry if it's in the wrong spot!)

It sort of depends on what operating system that you have. But no matter what operating system, BlackVipers services pages are probably the best around, and will help you a little. For XP:http://www.blackviper.com/WinXP/servicecfg.htmWindows ME:http://www.blackviper.com/WinME/supertweaks.htmJust be careful about what you disable. Make sure to do some research, or ask, before you disable anything.Another means of seeing what start-up items is to download WinPatrol (which is a nice piece of protection software also). If you click on the startup tab, it will show you what start-up itmes are running, and allow you to disable them there. You can also use msconfig to disable items, but I generally only use that for diagnostic purposes. The next place to look would be in your Add/Remove programs, and make sure there isn't anything installed that you don't recognize. Again, make sure to research or ask before uninstalling anything. Also, if this is a condition which has recently developed, chances are that you have some malware that needs removal, in which case go to the HijackThis forum here, and read how to post a log.

A:Trying to remove DOS/Alureon.a I posted this a few days ago in a different forum, not sure if it was in the wrong spot or not.

Your log is properly posted, here, you should NOT make further changes to your computer (install/uninstall programs, use special fix tools, delete files, edit the registry, etc) unless advised by a Malware Removal Team member, nor should you continue to ask for help elsewhere. Doing so can result in system changes which may not show it the logs you already posted. Further, any modifications you make on your own may cause confusion for the helper assisting you and could complicate the malware removal process which would extend the time it takes to clean your computer. From this point on the Malware Removal Team should be the only members that you take advice from, until they have verified your log as clean. Please be patient. It may take a while to get a response because the Malware Removal Team members are very busy working logs posted before yours. They are volunteers who will help you out as soon as possible. Once you have made your post and are waiting, please DO NOT make another reply until it has been responded to by a member of the Malware Removal Team. Generally the staff checks the forum for postings that have 0 replies as this makes it easier for them to identify those who have not been helped. If you post another response there will be 1 reply. A team member, looking for a new log to work may assume another Malware Removal Team member is already assisting you and not open the thread to respond. To avoid confusion, I am closing this topic.Average wait times fluctuate de... The monitor you have now, as the old monitor you had, should have some buttons or knobs on the front of it. These are used to resize the image, adjust it's position etc. Try them out looking for the obvious such as a knob with an image that looks like it will stretch it etc. Also, you might want to adjust your settings to a different resolution. For example: 800X600, 1024X768 etc. To do that, just right click on an empty space on your desktop, select PROPERTIES, then left click on SETTINGS, then move the slider under SCREEN AREA. Hope this helps, T.

Hi, has anyone ever experienced this, in Win XP?

I'll try to explain the best I can... my father (on his computer), was playing around with his taskbar putting it on the sides to see if he'd like there, I guess...

Now he's got repeats of his icons from the desktop sitting on his taskbar, fullsize. We tried to delete them, but if we did, they would also delete the twin that's on the desktop. I found this too be so weird, his taskbar is now about an inch and a quarter high, and we could not reduce it.

Has anyone ever seen such a glitch?

I don't think a restore would do anything, it being icons...

I have WINDOWS XP, and can't figure out what other topic this question might belong in...

I don't know when or how it happened, but two file folders MY SHARED DOCUMENTS and CARRIE'S DOCUMENTS are now in MY COMPUTER.

MY COMPUTER, where it shows the drives. I am pretty sure it never had yellow folders in it before.

I think they should be in C DRIVE? There is a MY DOCUMENTS in C Drive, but it has nothing in it. I'm the only one who uses this computer, but apparenty everything saved goes into CARRIE'S DOCUMENTS. SHARED DOCUMENTS has various folders in it that I suppose would be shared by all, if others used the computer, too.

I've tried dragging them there (or anywhere) but only shortcuts appear in the new area. The folders still say in MY COMPUTER. They won't copy and paste.

When I open something, like in WORD, etc. I can still find them, just they are under MY COMPUTER.

So, they still work, it just seems strange, like they shouldn't be in MY COMPUTER. Unless I have totally missed this for the past year, I don't remember ever seeing them in there before. I take pictures off my memory card with a removable drive, which shows up as F drive, so I look in MY COMPUTER to click on this, all the time.

What happened and how can I fix it? Actually, since it seems to work this way, the only reason to fix it seems to be it looks odd this way.

I got broadband last week and we're only allowed 2GB monthly usage limit (hehe, well it is cheap). I was wondering if streaming videos counts towards this, like does it take up disk space? And is there any chance of viruses? Thanks, pretty random, but I'd like to know.

A:ok this is probably the wrong place, but...youtube

Yes that will count towards your 2GB monthly allowance...everything you get from the internet will count (emails, webpages, videos, music etc).

It does take up disk space but once you clear your temporary internet files, that will solve the problem.

As with the risks of internet use, there is a chance of picking up spyware/viruses by downloading content....but the chances are far less with reputable sites.

Hope that helps :)

Could anyone tell me the best utility for fixing the registry/broken links/shortcuts etc in XP Home. My computer has become quite slow and I think I may have a lot of rubbish cluttering up the system.I do tend to trial a lot of progs and then uninstall them.

A:This question may be in the wrong place

Personally I would not 'fix' anything in the Registry. Yes there may be a few broken links but they will be taking up minimal space and will probably not cause your system to slow down that you would notice.. Better to defrag your hard disc and run something like Cleanup! to clear out your temp files etc.

While trying to install a new graphics card I had to unplug a cable.

I am not sure that I put it back in the right place.

There are 2 sockets.

One reads "jp7 spdif"

The other "jp3 usb"

I have tried the plug in both sockets, but nothing seems to be wrong either way.

Where should I put the plug?

A:Plug in the wrong place?

What does the other end of the cable connect to?

A friend has just created a new subdomain of his existing site. If I go to http://www.newsubdomain.existingsite.com, I see the host's generic "new site will be available soon" message. BUT if I go to http://newsubdomain.existingsite.com (that is, the same address, but without the leading "www."), I wind up on the site for some perfectly innocent-looking automotive specialty parts distribution company. (It looks like they mostly sell to retailers, not the public, so it makes no sense at all for them to be complicit in this apparent hijacking, although someone could have put something malicious on their site, I guess.)My computer is a laptop running WinXP Pro. AVG, spybot and Ad-aware scans find nothing amiss. The machine has no other symptoms of any kind of infection, afaict. The problem shows up regardless of whether I use Firefox or IE, but another machine on my home-network does NOT have this problem, so I know it's not a case of my ISP's DNS cache having been poisoned. I did run ipconfig /flushdns from a command prompt; that didn't fix it.Could this just be some simple corrupted record somewhere, or must we conclude a malware infection?TIA!!!

[COLOR=blue] I posted this in the wrong place earlier, am sooo sorry, I didnt realize there was a forum just for this..I apologize. Any help would be most appreciated! TamCOLOR=blue] Hi..I was wondering if anyone can help me...my son was on my system the other night and since I have been having nothing but pop-up problems and actually problems running certain programs. I tried to do a restore that didnt help, I even tried to boot from my original XP Cd and start all over, but found that I had an SP2 error, which in going to uninstall that, I got another area pertaining to languages etc... I ran hijack this and here is my report, if anyone knows of anything I can do, I would greatly greatly appreciate it, as these pop-ups are driving me nuts, because just popping up they seem to even download themselves. I am having some trouble with my wireless network and i am beginning to think my idea of networking abilities over a wifi network are wrong. I have two laptops in my home one using xp home the other using vista home basic. when I start up my computers i have to either run the networking wizard or ping the other computers (if they can even ping each other) I think as long as the two computers are turned on and logged on the the same wireless network I should be able to file share between the two of them, but like the title says correct me if I'm wrong.

To put if breifly I was wiping the cmos after some trouble I'd had with my PC, I got distracted and when I went back I powered up the computer with the cmos jumper still in the wipe position. It won't boot to windows and seems pretty messed up, anybody know if how I could get around this?? I'm I right in thinking I could flash the bios, I haven't personally done that before so if somebody could speak me through what to do I'd be most appreciative...

Thanks in advance,

For some time now I have had no sound. I think I might have plugged the sound connector into the wrong hole. On the back of my Dell Dimension #2350 PC are 3 holes (one pink, one light blue and one real dark blue). I currently have it plugged into the pink hole & was wondering if I should try one of the other two.

Have I got it connected in the right hole now or would I hurt anything by moving it to one of the other two holes?

I am a beginner and would really appreciate any suggestions and/or help as I really miss the sound, especially on e-mail cards I receive.

A:Have I Got Sound Connected In Wrong Place?

It would not hurt the computer or your speakers to plug it into the other holes.

Make sure your speakers are plugged into the wall (if they are that type of speaker), make sure they are turned on! And turned up! Put in some music, play it, and then plug the speakers into the different ports and see if they work.

If they still don't, let us know and one of us can walk you through it!

I have a Dell Dimension 4600 with Windows XP Pro. I have just changed my email host to lunarpages.com, and configured a new (IMAP) account in my email client Outlook Express per lunarpages instructions. I am able to send and receive emails, but the sent mails are being saved in the ‘Sent Items’ folder in Local Folders rather than in the IMAP account. Anybody know how to make them appear in a ‘sent items’ folder in the IMAP account? I’d ask tech support at lunarpages, but they’re gone until Tuesday.

I Just updated my bios from R1-B4 to R1-C0 and i havnt seen any differnce, bios options are the same, pc still has buggy boots before getting to Operating system select,
so what would a bios update do exsacly?

A:BIOS Updated But.... (Sorry If In Wrong Place)

I can't say without seeing the release notes on the bios update, Generally they will only fix one problem at a time. Often it's compatibility for hardware that you may not even have. Meaning you will be unaffected by the update at all.

My computer wasn't messed up when i first starting using it, but one day I turned on guest and i just started getting used to it. so i always used my guest file and all but a big problem happened some how. instead of my main account (Ben94), Guest became administrator. Now i cant do any features including:
* make new account(when i type something like TEST, it says: you cannot use .,{[}]!?,etc in a account name)
*cant change account types( because i cant make a new account)
* cant give passwords to accounts
* guest cannot check internet connections but ben94 can, but ben94 cant do anything about connections because its a standard account

they are a few things to add to that list but i dont want to go off topic. if there's anyway to fix this, please tell me.

On the remote possiblity, do you have a backup from before the problem existed?

do you have a win 7 dvd to do a repair install?

Please run a system file check

(type cmd in search>right click and run as admin>sfc /scannow
