can I connect my mobile phone to internet via wireless router and tata photon data ca

Q: can I connect my mobile phone to internet via wireless router and tata photon data ca

I have a tata photon 3g data card. I can use internet on my desktop computer once I connect data card dongle to my desktop computer. I do not have wifi in my desktop computer. However, I do have wireless router. Is it possible to route router traffic to my desktop computer? If I can route traffic to desktop computer then I can connect my phone to wireless modem and alternatively I can access Internet. Does anyone have any idea about how to configure router

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Without knowing brand and model of the router nor what you want to configure I have no clue. If you have cable internet service no configuration of the router is needed, but some is advised. If you have (A)DSL service then usually the router's WAN needs to be configured PPPoE and your acccount/password.

Hi I just purchased an LG P500 phone with android 2.2. I am having no luck connecting the phone to the internet at home. I travel and in a hotel I can connect to the internet no problem. When I scan and connect the phone finds the network and connects, I am then asked for the login ID and pass word from the hotel and I am connected. So far no problem. When I get home I want to connect the phone to the internet so I scan for my wireless router. The phone and the router see each other, the router asks for the router WEP pass word I input it and the phone connects, no problem. I try to go on the internet and the phone tells me no connection.

This is likely because my connection is through the phone line, I have ADSL. When I connect with my laptop either wireless or with cable at my desk, I connect with the router using the WEP and then when I connect to the internet I use my login ID and pass word for the IP provider. Therfore my problem is that the smart phone can't get to the internet becasure I haven't logged in to the provider.

I have looked and looked but I can't find anything on the smartphone about sending or keying the User ID and PW for the internet service I have. Is it me or is this a limitation of my setup?

Thanks in advance for any info.

If you have any Anti-Virus or Security programs installed, disable it for now then try reinstalling the driver. Make sure that you download the latest driver from the manufacturer's site.

A:Using 3G mobile phone to connect laptop to internet?

I can't tell you info as to details for your specic computer and phone.. but can tell you in general (as i do it with a dell laptop and a Motorola phone)

First and most important, is you probably need a software application that targets this functionality. i don't believe you're going to get it work "right out of the box"
The phones can be "tethered" to your laptop or not (and sometimes that's the wireless carriers choice and not a matter if the hardware can do it)
Tethered means it requires a cable to connect phone and laptop
Un-tethered is the obvious then. No cable. In my case, i use bluetooth on my phone and computer. Nice advantage is not having to plug/unplug a darn cable as u walk in /. out of the room. I;ll walk out and lose my Bluetooth connection, and then walk back in..here the beeping 10 secs until they reconnect

What may be the problem..

Why will my router not let me connect my mobile & PC to the internet at the same time

A:Why will my router not let me connect my mobile & PC to the internet at the same time

Hi kokes4, and welcome to TSG.

It could be that the router's sub-net mask and/or DHCP settings may only provide for one connection at a time. Some Internet service providers limit residential accounts to one connected device at a time. You would need to add you own router (the single connected device) to the provided modem/router and that would allow you to connect multiple devices at the same time.

Do your computer and phone use DHCP to get their IP addresses? If one or both don't they may be trying to use the same IP address.

Pretty sure they are stored on the sim card. Depending on your phone. Your cell phone company should be better able to help you provided you are the account holder and the owner of your phone. They deal with this all the time.

I have a Centrino laptop running Win XP Pro and a mobile phone (Sony Ericsson T39m...yeah, I know it's a bit old now but it's small and it works), both with IR and bluetooth capability.

Firstly, could someone run through how to set up a bluetooth connection so I can synch my Outlook 2000 contacts with the phone. I have done this once before but can't remember how I did it (which is very frustrating) and I had to completely re-install the OS so any settings I'd originally slaved over have disappeared.

Secondly, on many occasions when I need to connect to the internet there's no wifi access, so it would be useful to connect via the mobile phone. How do I set up the IR and bluetooth connections to allow this - using both dial-up modem access and GPS/GPRS access.

I've followed various instructions (that's a slightly generous description) in the phone and laptop manuals but can't seem to get it to work.

Many thanks.

I have a lenovo u160 running windows 7, a couple of days ago it seemed my computer was infected with something, giving a series of security warnings I had not seen before (not av security suite). It slowed the computer down for a few minutes.

After closing these messages, there seemed to be no problem, but then my computer was no longer connect to the internet. It connects to our router/wireless network, but not to the internet.

I tried resetting and unplugging the router and the modem, but still no luck. We have two other computers on the same network that are connecting to both the network and the internet.

I tried running rkill and malwarebytes twice and no malicious items were detected.

I restored the computer to an earlier point (2-3 days earlier)

On the toolbar in the bottom right of the taskbar, it shows a 5 white signal bars, with a "!" inside a yellow triangle.
If I click on the network button it states it is "connected" to the network. It describes the connection as "excellent" (4-5/5 bars).

Above the display of the available networks, it states

"currently connected to:
Unidentified network
No Internet access"

I am not computer savvy and have not run into this problem before. Thanks for your time and help.

Not a good idea to put your email address in posts unless you enjoy bots sending you all kind of spam email.

What you are trying to do is called Tethering. Most cell phone providers do have this option but I believe technically you have to pay for it. There are hacks around it though. I know how to do it on my Palm not sure about windows mobile.
I would google search for: htc touch tethering

Thanks for any replys!

A:Mobile Internet using mobile phone

a serial data cable can't connect to the internet.
First of all you need a data capable phone which I don't think the 5110 can.

You need a 6210 or 7110 etc more info on nokia website

Even with data phone I've never heard of a suitable cable but you can connect using infrared adapter - you need infrared capability on phone too. I guess it would be dead slow too.

if you want to connect to internet on laptop but a nokia card phone. You put it in you PCMCIA slot after putting your SIM into it and it acts like your phone. It's fast and reliable but about 150 GBP

This is definitely my last resort. I've been trying for days to get my router to work, but it just isn't. Here's the details:

I have a D-Link WBR-2310 router. I have an Efficient Networks (< ?) SpeedStream modem. My computer is running Windows XP.

I can set up a home network and connect with other computers/devices easily, but I can't connect to the internet when I have the router hooked up. The wired PC can't even connect. I've read that I need to change the IP Address to a different one than my modem, because my modem is a router too? Something like that...

Anyway, I really don't know what I'm doing, so a step by step would be more than wonderful.

Thanks so much, guys.

Hi Guys,

I'm new, so please be gentle ;o)

I have a Dell Vostro laptop running windows 7. My ISP is a company called Scarlet which supply connection via an external modem complete with aerial. When I connect directly from the modem to the laptop via the modem it's fine.

My problem is that I bought an Advantek wireless router which a friend tried to install, I'm not sure if he was successful at any point as it was some time ago. However, I am now trying to set the wireless connection up so that I can surf on the laptop and my girlfriend on her ipad in separate rooms.
I currently haven't got as far as getting the laptop to work along with the modem and router, I think there may be an IP conflict.

What info do you guys need in order to assist me or won't a wireless router work with an external wireless connection via my ISP?

Many thanks in advance.

I have a D-Link DIR-600 N Wireless Router, connected to a Comcast Cable Modem. 3 of 4 computers in our house connected just fine to the network and have internet access. The 4th computer has a D-Link DWA-525 wireless transceiver. It will hookup to the network but will not connect to the internet. I've changed from autodetect DNS and Default gateway to an explicit IP address for the IP address, Default gateway and Devault DNS address based on the settings from ipconfig on one of the other computers that is on the web. I've used ipconfig/release ipconfig/flushdns ipconfig/renew to no avail, and now I'm getting an error message from it.

Is it possible that the DWA-525 itself is faulty, or am I missing something? It shouldn't be this hard to connect to the router and get DHCP to pickup the current gateway IP address.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

All wires are connected properly, with an ethernet cord going from my Surfboard Cable Modem to the wireless router and from the router to the PC. All lights on the router appear to be on, EXCEPT for the "connection" light which blinks continuously. I can connect to the internet fine with the modem goes straight to the computer but not when the router is in between. Belkin, Charter, and Microsoft are all baffled regarding this issue, and each thinks that the other is at fault.

My system is running Norton Firewall software, but I don't think that this is the problem because I installed it after I was having the problem. When I look at the router's "security log" on the settings page, it shows a the router (255.255.255.0) being denied to connection to "10.232.64.1" over and over again every few seconds. So I wonder if it just cannot connect to my ISP?

I will be very plea$ed if someone could help me with this as I would like to have wireless internet in my house. Thank you so much.

Best,
Ben

Hi, I am a University living in halls and my flat mates and I want to set up a wireless router for our flat.

I have a TP-Link WA500G, routers are not allowed but other people have from neighbouring flats have set them up as I can see at least 3 now.
I have set up a password and selected it to be a Wireless AP.

Each room has it's own ethernet socket and that socket has a unique IP, Like 141.163.180.XXX
Do I have to enter the IP that it is plugged into into any of the fields like gateway or in the DHCP settings?

Or do I have to enable WMM, AP Isolation or disable short preamble?

Thanks

Hi all.

I am considering purchasing a phone with Wifi capabilities. I have a wireless internet connection at home which is routed by a Motorola SGB900 Wireless Surfboard gateway.

I already have 2 wireless computers (1 laptop and 1 PC) connected wirelessly. If I purchase a Wifi phone, will I be able to connect to the internet via this wireless connection?

My work also offers free wireless to all employees and I am able to connect my laptop there. Will a Wifi phone be able to connect to my work network?

Also, will the Wifi connection cost me anything from my phone provider as using WAP does?

Thanks all

OK, i am trying to access the internet using the GPRS connection on my phone. I have the wire that goes from my phone to the computer, and thats fine, and I have a connnection thingie set up.

My computer 'dials up' or something, and then it says:

"TCP/IP connected successfully.
IPX or compatible CP reported error 733: A connection on the remote computer could not be completed. You may need to adjust the protocols on this computer. For further assistance, click More Info or search Help and Support Centre for this error number.
Press Accept to use the connectoin as is, or Hang Up to disconnect."

It then has a little checkbox thing that says "do not request the failed protocols next time". I leave this clear, and click accept.

And then it has a little balloon thing in the bottom left that says "Siemens MC60 GPRS connection now connected, Speed 114.2 kbps".

And then when i try and go onto a web page it doesnt work!

Help!

A:Internet with my Mobile Phone

You have two issues. First off, you don't need the IPX protocol, so I'd check the box that says don't try the failed protocols. For the lack of connections, try this when you're connected.

Open a DOS window and type:

IPCONFIG /ALL >C:RESULT.TXT

Open C:\RESULT.TXT with Notepad and copy/paste the entire results here.

I have two static IP internet accounts through DSL. Currently I have a wireless access point that works fine with my two computers.

Purchased a NETGEAR wireless router (dual band WGU624 a and g; same brand as access point) so I can get rid of one static IP and add additional computers to the network as I please.

Initially couldn't get the thing configured because of problems with login to router. Ended up re-installing my OS and moving everything away from my cordless phone

So now I can login to the router through the wireless connection and configure appropriately. I was able to get to the internet everything looked ok. Came back later that day no connection. Spent several hours troubleshooting including resetting the router to default settings and reconfiguring several times. Could never get back to the internet. Tried pinging my ISP DNS server but no dice. Can ping the router from my computer. Router shows my computer as connected to the network with an ip that is within the range the router can assign. Spent several more hours today but no dice

Could this be a problem with a "noisy" phone line? My ISP also tried to configure the router remotely and mentioned that the phone line was very noisy.

Has anyone ever heard of incompatibility of modem and router (my modem is an infinilink i500)?

Unfortunately I dragged my feet getting this configured so have gone past the "free support" from NETGEAR and they want $30 to talk to a tech support person.... Read more

I have a Belkin wireless router that fails to connect to the internet which is the final step in the installation process. All the connections are correct. It will try to connect to the internet up to ten times but still there is no connection. I called Belkin Tech Support and they talked me through several steps so finally they told me to send the router back and they would send another one. I received that one but had the same problem. They told me to send that one back and they would send another one. I did that but the same problem. They told me to send that one back and they would send another one, still the same problem. I plan to keep this one because the cost for shipping them back is expensive. Each time they said they would send an upgrade. I even tried installing it on my wife's laptop but still the same problem. I called my internet service provider and they told me several things to try which didn't work. The dsl modem works fine when I connect directly to my computer. I typed cmd in the Run block and at the black screen I typed ipconfig which showed the IP address. I tried typing in the IP address and also tried clicking on Obtain an IP address automatically. Any help would be appreciated.

I am only 16 and this is my first time to deal with routers. I was just given a Belkin router (specs posted at the end) i know for a fact it works because i used it on this very laptop for 3 days before bringing it home. However, when i plugged it in the first two lights ( wired, router) light up blue within 5 seconds but the third light for the modem has been blinking orange for about 2 hours. the desktop that it is wired to says that there is an internet connection but i cannot seem to get access to any website other than the router setup. and my laptop will connect to it but it wont access internet either. i really have no idea.i reset my modem at one point and while the modem was booting up the modem light on the router turned blue and the internet light began to flash. this lasted about 10 seconds(long enough to get my hopes up) but then just went back to a flashing modem LED when the modem finished resetting (crushing my hopes). one last thing i feel i should tell you, on the router setup page, at the top it says Home| Help | Logout Internet Status: No Connection i am at my wits ends with the thing. the previous owner has no clue. and i am at a loss. please help me out!!

OK, first off I'm a newbie to this forum, so hello all. And I'm also pretty much a newbie to Vista also, but know XP alot, so should be able to go along with any help. Here's the problem:
I had someone move into my old office & his computer (Dell, Vista Home, 1gbRam, 160GBhd, nVidia network controller) is now going to be the one wired directly into the router & modem with the rest of the 3 comps in the house getting wireless signal as they had been for the past 2 years.

When I first plugged his comp in & installed the Netgear router from the disk, the install screwed up in that his comp was getting the internet cause it was plugged via ethernet, but the rest of the house couldn't cause there was no wireless signal. Also shown by the wireless light not being on on the router, but all the other were, power, LAN port4, & internet.

So I uninstalled the router since wasn't working correctly unplugged it all from the comp to restart fresh.

Went and did the install again, but now the wired in comp is not getting any kind of internet signal at all either being plugged directly into the modem, directly into the router, or even trying use one of the wireless USB adapters that are running on the other comps just fine, on it right now, but even that way there was something not allowing it to install correctly and get an internet signal, just kept saying can connect to a local network but not to the internet, rebuild this, blah blah blah.

We got a new ISP today and now I'm trying to get the router to work but it's not working with me. The modem works when hooking the computer up directly through the ethernet cable but when I try the wireless router it's no bueno. It's running through a Static IP address.

I get full signal from the router but I don't get any internet through it. My IPv4 is "Local" and my IPv6 is "Limited." Disabled the IPv6 but it didn't really change anything. I looked through a few other threads with similar problems but none of them really fixed my problems.

1) Tried the Winsock reset
2) Tried disabling the security
3) Made sure the cables weren't faulty
4) Factory reset on router
5) Firmware upgrade on the router
6) Ipconfig /renew
7) Tried automatically finding the IP address/DNS and my own set IP address/DNS's

Here's my ipconfig and pings:

Dns suffix search List (domain.invalid) seems odd.

Did you try running COMMAND Prompt "As an Administrator" then typing?

I have an IBM ThinkCenter running XP Professional, connected to the internet and another computer via an ADSL modem and ethernet router. I am trying to replace the ethernet connections with a Linksys WRT 54G wireless router.

The installation seemed to go fine, but I get no internet connection. The only help from the Linksys setup routine was a suggestion that the ISP may have trouble identifying the modem when the wireless router is attached.

The IPConnect output when connected through the ethernet is ...

Hi,

Can someone PLLLLLLLLLLEAAAASE help with this.

I have a Linksys Wireless G WRT45G router that every couple of months will stop accessing the internet.

I am about to drive my car over it.

I have a Netcomm DB5 modem connected to the router. This works fine without the router.

I have;
Enable TCP/IP - Obtain IP Address automatically
Updated firmware
Set the IP address to 192.168.2.1 and the modem to 192.168.1.1
Reset router and modem
Powered on and off and on and off and on...

Not too sure about the DNS server settings - these were provided by ISP
DNS Server Primary 203.12.160.35
Secondary 203.12.160.36
Other
PPPoE ADSL2+ Static IP
Also have WAN IP Address

Has previously worked without entering all this garbage - so not too sure. Selected DHCP - Automatically configured on router and worked.
But now.. nothing!
