I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

During audio calls, the person I am speaking with says that they can hear all audio created by my computer. This includes their own voice, audio from videos I might play, any movie we're watching, etc. Typically, I can hear their computer's audio as well. This happens when using Skype, Facebook Messenger, etc.

What could be causing this, and how can I fix it?

Hi all,

I been using Skype for a long time now, but have only recently started using the video call feature. I find it quite useful. The problem is that the video freezes after a minute or two when I make video calls. I then have to restart to unfreeze it. I can be a hassle. The video freezes on both sides of the video call. One minute my video would freeze then the other side freezes as well. The audio is fine. There is nothing wrong with my webcam.

I have a Microsoft Lifecam VX 1000. Windows XP Professional. Service Pack 3.
I have version of Skype

How can I make video calls that don't freeze?

Thanks in advance.

A:Frozen Video Calls in Skype

My experience has been that if I have too many extra's turned on the camera, it might freeze. I have a Logitech cam, and it has a feature called Low-light boost that sometimes has given me problems. (also accessed through Skype at Tools>Options>Video Settings. Then click on the button that says Webcam settings>Advanced Tab).

Other possibilities:
*Double check your camera driver for the latest version.
*Bad internet connection (double check firewalls, anti-virus etc.)
*Make sure you have the latest version of DirectX
*Make sure the camera application software is running at the same time as Skype.

Good luck, hope this helps.

Get the family together this Christmas, on the internet

Skype is a godsend for those families with members dotted all across the UK, or across the globe, in many cases, with the latest news that Skype is set to support video-calling for up to ten people at the same time sure to please many users.
The latest beta of Skype 5.0 for Windows introduces the new group vid-chat feature, with no word on when Mac users will get the same as yet.
"The second beta of Skype 5.0 brings a number of changes both outside and in ? most importantly, you can now make group video calls with up to 10 people," the company announced on its website.
"It also welcomes in a fresh new look, as well as increased stability and better quality when making group video calls."
Sleeker, neater, crisper
The latest version of Skype is, we are informed, "sleeker, neater and crisper than before," and adds another new feature called Skype Home.
Skype Home lets you follow your contacts' mood messages, set your profile picture and mood message and receive account notifications and learn more about using Skype.
Fancy testing Skype 5.0 out? You can download it now.

A:Skype beta 5 adds video-calls for groups of 10 people

I have been waiting for this feature. Video conferencing for free should attract a healthy following from many corporations.

Update: It's not free.

This beta version comes with a free trial of group video calling

Trojan Attacks Skype on Windows - eSecurity Planet"What we're looking at is something that could be considered the first 'wiretap Trojan,'" Symantec's Intel Security Team wrote in a blog post. Symantec's analysis found that the Trojan, which it dubbed "Trojan.Peskyspy," can record audio on a computer such as Skype calls, store the file locally as an encrypted mp3 and then relay it back to the hacker. Trojan.Peskyspy is designed to beat Skype's encryption, Symantec found. "Since the Trojan listens to the data coming to and from the audio devices, it gathers the audio independently of any application-specific protocols or encryption applied by Skype when it passes voice data at the network level," the company said. The virus can attack the Windows 98, Windows 95, Windows XP, Windows Me, Windows Vista, Windows NT, Windows Server 2003 and Windows 2000 operating systemsMore if you click the link.

I recently inherited a (legal) computer from my son-in-law when my own 'died'. I had problems with APPS freezing and did a reinstall of XP, using my own legal CD. Since then clicking on any of the windows shortcuts such as 'My Computer' or 'D:\drive' etc. produces the 'Windows Installer' instead of the usual folder tree, even if 'Explore' is clicked in the context menu. The installer eventually (very slow) produces the required screen. Why is this , and how can I change it back to normal behaviour? Shortcuts to APPS behave normally.

Hello everyone.
I tried this post on the Skype forums, but the forum feels a little dead, so I figured iŽd try my luck here instead:

I have a little question I was hoping you could help me out with.
I live waaaay out in the fields of Denmark, and my cellphone reception is non existing.
I constantly get "No Service" on my Iphone, but then I got an idea!
Would it be possible to forward my Iphone to my skype, so whenever someone cannot get through to my phone, they will get directed to my skype account and I will be able to pick up my phone there?
If that is possible, is there a way I can pay for something like "Pay as you go" kinda plan? I dont call a lot so I figured that would be the best plan for me.

Thanks in advance <3

A:Forward calls to Skype

Your phone company would need to forward the calls from your cell phone number to the Skype number. This may be more of what you are interested in: http://www.skype.com/intl/en-us/features/allfeatures/online-number/

I've been using Skype for quite a while now and recently whenever I use it, the person on the other line is always breaking up like it'll cut off for a good 5 seconds and then the audio will just continue as usual. I'm not sure if it's the Internet connection or the device I'm using (both ipad mini and phone have the same problem tbh, dont use a laptop to skype) but I did get a new router about 20 days ago. Do i have to change some settings ? What do I do ? Ps. I'm really not good with technology. Help is much appreciated <3

A:Skype calls keep breaking up ?

You could start here for a VoIP simulation test.

Choose where you are then choose (lower right) VoIP, then start when it fires up.

You want very low jitter and hopefully ZERO packet loss. For MOS anything above 4 should be good.

Might have to open some ports in your router.

I have a brand new Dell Inspiron laptop running Win7 at work, and when I use SKYPE with my Logitech USB headset I have to quit and restart the program after each call in order to hear any sound through my headset. My clients can hear me, apparently, but I cannot hear them.

Same with incoming calls, I cannot hear them unless I quit and restart SKYPE in between each one.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling SKYPE, I have tried playing with the sound settings. My headset is set as the default everywhere.

It's now been a week that I can't have a decent connection with skype: the calls are dropping all the time, every minute the call ends.
Could this depend on how many people are connected and downloading?
Where do I start troubleshooting?

Recently (or so I've noticed), Skype has been using up nearly all my bandwidth during calls. When I'm in a call, web pages take forever to load and a quick email sync takes 3 minutes instead of 3 seconds. The quality of the Skype call itself isn't too good, either.

Here are some Speedtest.net results from during and after a call:

Before and after:
Ping: 43ms
Down: 12.90Mbps
Up: 1.08Mbps

During the call:
Ping: 278ms
Down: 0.58Mbps
Up: 0.05Mbps

Why is Skype using up so much bandwidth during calls? Anyone got any idea?

A:Skype hogging bandwidth during calls

Probably not Skype itself. What version are you running? Often a driver will become corrupt requiring frequent data re-sends causing the bottleneck.

Latency is often caused by a driver, run this (free) to check. DPC Latency Checker

If you have the current version I might try a Skype re-install

This has been happening alot since skype 5.8. When I get into a call alone with somebody sometimes my skype goes offline for them for about 15 seconds and the call ends for me but the call for them stays open and says "There is a problem with this call". This is also random, sometimes i could be in a call for 5 hours with somebody and then the call will just end. When this happens my friend told me it shows my skype going offline when clearly im still online, I have to either call them back or wait afew minutes for the call to reconnect. Wiretapping Skype calls: virus eavesdrops on VoIP.

Some computer viruses have a crude but scary ability to spy on people by logging every keystroke they type. Now hackers and potentially law enforcement have another weapon: a virus that can eavesdrop on voice conversations that go over computers instead of a regular phone line.

Left-clicking "OK" (the only button displayed) repeated the "Error creating key" error pane.  Exited from regedit.
I've been searching for a solution... and all I see are notes about taking control of registry keys.  Treading carefully... it looks as if permissions are set properly... and now I'm not sure if it's a permissions problem or that something is "not quite right" with the name creation mechanism.

I use the Message feature on the Facebook web site as my primary way to stay in touch with a couple of people. I do it all using the Firefox web browser on desktop or laptop computers. It seems like several times a day the following message will show up in the conversation.

(GRAPHIC)(Name) invited you to Messenger.
Sending messages is fast and more fun on Messenger. Get a link sent to your phone to install the app.
Send LinkClick to expand...

The person says that they are not sending the invitation, and I assume Facebook is automatically butting into the conversation with it. I don't own a smartphone to install the App even if I wanted to. I tried sending the link to my dumb-phone and just ignore it, but that didn't work. Is there a user setting in Facebook to stop getting these annoying invites?

I will state now that I have figured out how to fix the problem but preventing it from happening I haven't figured out yet.

The problem is video drivers stopping windows 10 from boot. I have a Asus 560 ti and Intel HD3000 (onboard) in my PC.

Generally what happens is the computer stops dead and I need to clear the CMOS to get to BIOS. Take out the 560ti and use the onboard to see whats going on. Windows attempts to load and does the whole repair loop till it goes into the recovery environment. From here go into safe mode, startup option>restart.

When in safe mode go to device manager and select View>Show Hidden Devices and uninstall all video devices and check the boxes for delete drivers for both graphics cards.

This should let you boot into windows while still using the onboard card to display. Install the onboard drivers and turn off the computer and then resit the graphics card, 560ti in my case, and windows should boot again. Install those drivers and you should be good.

This has happened to me at least 5 or 6 times since November last year. This is the solution but the problem is beyond me so any help into how to find out what is going on and how to stop it will be appreciated.

I have a problem with trolls joining my pages and events (which have hundreds to thousands of real people) then trolling crude remarks. It seems that the only thing I can do is "report" them to Facebook, for what little that does. Or I can choose to "block" their comments so that when they post, I don't see their comments (but others in the group can), but in managing these pages & events, it would be irresponsible for me just to look the other way here when they post harassing other members. What I'd like to do is to #1 boot them from the page / event and #2 prevent them from joining in the future, all this IN ADDITION to reporting them to FB. On this, I'd like some advice on what to do. Thanks.

Recently I am seeking for great available programs to record some important Skype video calls, since I need to do some academic group work with my partner and collect data. And a few weeks later, I need to add some video clips showing our process in the class presentation then. Not quite familiar with screen recording, I have spent a lot of time searching for workable solutions and recording a satisfying video. Some videos come out with no sound at all. Some videos come out with poor quality. Other issues like lags, watermarks are quite annoying. But finally, I finished my assignment and did a great job.
For dude in the same situation, I would like to share this eligible application which can save your time quite a lot. It is called ShowMore, a free web application especially for recording screen. Once I took it for recording Skype video call. It works smoothly and I can record as long as I want. Video turns out to be clear without any lag or watermark. My voice can be heard clearly and videos are in high definition. Here is how I use it.

First navigate to ShowMore.com and find "Start Recording" button, click it. For first time visit, it will ask to download a launcher with which you can activate ShowMore normally. Just download and install it on PC, go back to the web and click "Start Recording" again. The interface will pop out then.
There is a gear icon and it is the "Options" part. Configure the settings such as output formats and mouse click ... Read more

It looks great! So it's a video sharing website with an online screen recording tool? Cool!
I have to say that the interface is beautiful.
And it's easy to use, I love it.
Thank you for sharing me this
