I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/download.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I looked back through 5 pages and the archive, couldn't see any relevant threads.
Here is my problem - how can you copy bulk E-mail addresses from a .pdf document? or is it any easier to achieve if I convert the document to an html document ? I can access either version of the doc.The list in the document has peoples names and telephone numbers etc however all the email addresses have the peoples names included and all are located at the same address ,I would like to copy the lot in one go for bulk mail outs the list is about 200 addresses in total a lot to copy manually, I have Firefox,Netscape&IE6, I use Outlook Express 2000 and my pc runs Win2000pro,I also use webbased email through several of my websites and would be more interested in bulk mailouts from the webbased mail ,I have a disk of Thunderbird if that helps and I could install it but as I said I would rather use my sites webmail so I really need to import it there. Short of NO SIMPLE solution that is comprehensible to a pc-oramous, is there any freeware that could do the job or reasonable priced software that might be able to do this. I have other lists to do as well so automation for dummies will help.Thankyou in advance

A:Copying E-mail addresses in bulk from .PDF/html documents

I think it would be easier on you if you used the html version of the document. You could use Acrobat, but you would have you have the entire version and not the reader to be able to select text and have it in a format the could be used for email addresses.

Hello.
I have a large email group - over 200 names - in Outlook Express Address Book. A number of outdated email addresses bounced back to me. I wish to remove them from my Group. But OE seems to list only names, not email addresses. I cannot find a way to search by email address. Therefore I am faced with the task of looking up each name's properties to see if it's the email I need to eliminate.
Surely there must be a better way!
Or should I just find a better program to use? If so, suggestions?
Thanks.

Hello,

I'd like to send emails to a specific group of people (roughly 150 people) using Outlook. However, I'd like any given user to only see his/her email address in the "To" box, not the other 149. And I'd like it to be like this for everyone: I send 1 email, everyone receives it, and only sees his/her email address.

This is not for marketing. Think of it as a teacher sending emails to his students.

I know there's a quick way of doing this but I can't seem to figure it out.
If I put everybody in BCC:, the "To" box remains empty, and that's not what I want.

Thanks a lot!

Say I have 10 individual Email recipients that I often send the same Email to. I want to be able to bring all the addresses together into one Group, and send the Email addressed to say "Family" or "Social Team" etc.

Is there a way that I can lump all the common recipients together under one title?

A:How do I group common Email addresses together to send all the same Email?

Since your question is in the Windows Live section, I am assuming you are using the Windows Live Mail (POP Version). To add a group email do the following:

1. In Windows Live Mail, click the "contacts" button
2. Click "New"
3. Select "Category"
4. Name the Catergory (such as Family or whatever you want to call the group)
5. Check the email addresses of the list that pops up for those you want in the group.

Now, next time you want to send an email with this program, in the "to" field, simply type the name of the category you just created. All contacts you added to the group will now be sent the email you just wrote.

Is there a way to gather all email addresses (either from, to, or cc) in a particular email folder in Outlook and store them in a delimited file? Alternatively, is there a way to add all email addresses from all emails in a particular folder to Outlook Contacts or to the Outlook Address Book?

My problem is this: my phone number is changing and I'd like to send an email to everyone who has either sent me an email or to whom I've sent an email announcing the change.

Any other way to solve the problem?

I am a member of a website where you get extra points if you get other people to sign up - referrals. I know this is lame, but I just wanted to see if it would work, so I tried to refer myself using a diff email address but it would not work - I'm assuming it has something to do with my IP address thing. Is it possible to fix this prob? Perhaps setup different user accounts in the control panel (Windows XP)? That might be too much trouble though - not sure how long it takes to log off, switch user, login, etc.

Any tips/advice?

if your using Outlook Express then click 'create mail', write your message, then at the 'to' line (the bit which you write the address) click it, it will open a new window in which you can select multiple recipients - as long as they're in your address book (ie. contacts).

If they aren't, then it's back to typing them all again.

You can view the information in the email header. How to do that varies depending on which email service you are using. For instance, in Hotmail, you open the message then click on the box next to reply on the right... top of the email. Here are a few more ways to view headers: Gmail Open the message in your Gmail inbox. Click the down-arrow in the top-right corner of the message. Click the "Show original" link toward the bottom of the options box. The message will open in a separate window with the full message headers at the top. Microsoft Outlook Open the message in Microsoft Outlook. Select "View," then "Options." You'll see the headers in the "Internet Headers" box. Yahoo Mail Open the email message in your Yahoo Mail inbox. Click the "Full Headers" link located in the lower-right corner of the email message.A few words of caution....Read the warnings at Craig's List....Only do business local and in person...CASH only....Obfuscate phone numbers and email addresses you post in your ads.

Good morning everyone.

I would like to know if an email address is known and that is all the information one has. Is there any way to find out who it belongs to?

I have searched everywhere I can think of and all I can find is search engines and databases which do just the opposite of that. They will give you the email address if you know the persons name and address.

I would think that there would be something somewhere that would find the person's name and address if only the email address is known.

I would appreciate any help or suggestions.

Thanks again.

In order for you to get an email address, you need to register for it. If you registered the address with your valid details, then the ISP you use that gave you the email address has your records. This can be traced and the information provided, but only via very specific legal actions.
Now, you can trace any email address back to the ISP that has provided it. If you use bellsouth in Florida, then you will have an email address that ends in @bellsouth.net you can then contact the ISP, and tell them the reason you want the details of the person who uses a specific address. It will be unlikely they will divulge the information to you, as you are a private citizen, but they can take their own action if they acknowledge a specific violation of their acceptable usage policy has been breached.
Long and short of it all, the average joe soap off the streets will never be able to find out who [email protected] is, nor should they. However, it would be easy to figure out [email protected]

After one clicks on 'create mail' then clicks on 'to' it takes one to the address book main identity screen. Then one has to click on 'main identity contacts to get a drop down for 'email addresses'. Double clicking on an email address puts the address on the email form.

When I want to send something I've received on to others I prefer to send a separate email to each recipient rather than sending to a bunch of people all at once. This requires that I keep going through several motions. QUESTION: Is there any way to get to the email address list directly without having to click on the main identity contacts, etc?

A:Email addresses in OE

Go into "View" , Click on Layout , Check the "contacts" check box, Apply the changes.

Contact list will be displayed in the left bottom .
Double click on the e-mail address from the contact list and new msg window will appear with the "to" field set to the e-mail id you double clicked.

Here is something. But please remember that it erases all such memory, initially, depending upon your selections. If you choose to disable autocomplete options but want the computer to retain any other passwords or login names, you will need to reCHECK the options again.

Do the following: IE\Tools\Internet Options\Content\AuroComplete\. Here you will have options to CLEAR FORMS and CLEAR PASSWORDS. You can select either of those or both. That should take care of it for now.

The options should be seff-explanatory.

Hi all.
I finally found a thread that tackles my same problem. Unfortunatly its now closed and the end result of the fix Im unsure about.

Using Outlook Express 6 my address book has suddenly lost all contacts in the address book. They are actually 'hidden' as although they do not appear in the address book they are still in fact present. Now I followed a thread here wheer a coupel of members had the identical problem and I followed it through with the same negative results. I tried to import the original .wab file back into my address book. It showed thousands of addresses flowing in but no end result in that all were still hidden from my view in address book.

I see that the final thought seemed to be a limit on the volume of entries and after you get a 1000, bingo they all become hidden.....weird! anyway I have far more than 1000 but regardless of that I wanted to see if I too could delete some and see if they reappeared. The probelm is an obvious one I suppose..........I cant see them to delete them!!

I see the other previous members seemed to ahve shouted VOILA and did it........how? I cannot see my addresses at all in any format, I know they are there, when I search for them in the address book they appear but I cannot list them to delete any.

Truly going mad here guys...........please help

thanks

After browsing the Email section of the Windows 7 Forum it looks like my Email Address Book will not just transfer into Windows 7 from my old XP PC.

The majority of my info from my old PC (XP) was transferred into my new Windows 7 PC but the guys at the shop just hung their heads when I said I was using Outlook Express as my Email client.
They said they could not just transfer the Email Address Book.
The mother board was fried but the hard drive was okay.

What are my options for retrieving 5 years of Outlook Express Email addresses?

Can I take the old PC to the shop and ask them to hook up the hard drive to their test equipment and print out all those adresses on paper?
Can they burn a CD (of all those Email addresses) from that XP hard drive that I can then run on my new Windows 7 and then copy and paste them one by one into my Comcast SmartZone address book.

If I just had them to look at I could at least pick and choose the most important ones to add to my new address book.

The old PC was 32 bit and my new one is,

HP P6240F 64 bit
Intel R Core TM 2 Quad Q8300

8 gig memory
750 HD

I'm no PC Guru so I won't be attempting to hookup the old HD to my new PC.
Whatever my options are I'll take it somewhere to retrieve the Email addresses if that's possible.

A:Salvaging Email addresses from old PC (XP)

The "Contacts" application in Windows 7 does have an option to Import a "Windows Address Book File (Outlook Express contacts)". You need to get the .WAB file from the hard drive of your old PC, which shouldn't be too much of a problem if you can get the hard drive connected up as a slave drive in your (or someone's) PC. Alternatively, install the drive in an external USB enclosure.

Using NT 4, Exchange 5.5 and Outlook as the email client, is it possible to have a normal recipient, who can send from Outlook, but if that person is selected internally from the Global Address book, the email is sent to a different email address altogether - [email protected]?

One way is to keep the normal recipient and then create a Custom Recipient and give it the necessary email address. This might sound ideal, since someone internally can choose which 'location' to send the email, but in reality it is a problem - you have two entries in the Global Address book, one with the little globe icon and no one knows which one to send to.

What I need is just one entry in the Global Address book, but even sent internally, it goes to the [email protected] address.

Assuming this makes sense, is there a solution?

I have been getting these stock tout sheets from some greaseball---there is no way to opt out and absolutely no identification of anyone you can contact. I noticed that they seem to be creating phoney email addresses using legitimate domains---Anyone have any idea on how to stop this assault?

A:Fake Email Addresses.

Sounds like your mail program does not have a Spam filter....there are some things that you can try.

I use Gmail, has one of the best spam catchers I know of, since I've had it, that is all I use. You need to be invited to get a Gmail account. You can then use the Gmail address for any shaky or doubtful sites you have to register with, all their spam, if any, will go to Gmail and may be caught or you can adjust the settings to filter mail from them. Blocking whole domains can sometimes keep you from getting legitimate mail, however if you use a filter, you can prompt the spam filter to stick bad mail into the Spam folder and you can at least look at them and decide what you need or don't want to see anymore of.

You can read up on Gmail here> http://mail.google.com/mail/help/about.html

I have some invites, please Private Message me or email me and I can give you an invite. You need to send me a good email address with you real name.... that's the way it works, and, do NOT post that info into a Reply, you already have a spam problem and by posting your address you are giving it away to spammers. PM me with a non-Hotmail address to send you the invite, include a name also. Thank you!

New to Outlook XP. When i enter a name in to the "To" line, SOMETIMES it fills in the persons fax info instead of their email address. This is no big problem, but is there a way to configure Outlook, when addressing a new message, to only suggest/fill in, the email address of the contact?

A:Outlook XP email addresses

I have to deal with this situation all the time.

Outlook will show you all of the email addresses and fax numbers, etc., for a given contact in a list (Contacts or a file or folder which is a sub-folder or file under Contacts.

My solution, at work, because I need to be able to send: email, individual faxes, and use an email service to send broadcast faxes (faxes of the same content, like a Request For Quotation, to many6 recipients), my solution has been to create separate folders under Contacts. Then, in any one contact, I have only the email address or fax number, or email address for broadcast fax. In fact, I include only the fields in the contact that I need. So, in email, there is just the name and the email address. In the set of folders for broadcast fax, the contacts contain only the name and the emailaddress that the fax service wants. In the fax foldr, I use complete addresses, phone numbers, fax number (only one), but no email addresses.

This is, admittedly, a lot of work, seemingly a lot of redundency. But, then, when I need to send something, I have no doubt about what number or address I am using.

Good luck.

It will be nice if I do not have to type in the entire email address of a person I want to send an email to, as this person is on my address book already. Umm..make sense?
I had a raging fit with my Outlook Express yesterday - it kept crashing my computer each time I tried to delete a mail. Odd. Only happened yesterday. Oh well..

Thanking you in advance! Bye now.

A:'AutoComplete' email addresses

Stupid question but have you filled in the email addresses in the address book? This is where Outlook will look to complete the address. Also see this thread:

I did a clean install of XP on a new hard drive. How can I import my old address book and old emails into the new Outlook Express?
