Hi , I have Lenovo Z 580 Ideapad.3 months back its fan stopped working. So i visited an authorized service centre located at Gurugram. http://business.google.com/website/devmohini/Since my laptop is out of warranty , they told me that the fan need to be replaced and charges will be applied. They said that they will order the part and let me know when my laptop will be ready . Few days back, they called me and asked me to pickup my laptop.I went there and checked my laptop , its fan was working . I paid the full amount. They gave me the receipt But they didn't provide me the Fan's warranty card or anywhere the warranty was mentioned in the receipt. They didn't even told me when the warranty of the Fan they replaced , was gonna expire.But now after 2 & half months , the Fan stopped working again . I went again and showed them my laptop. Now they are saying that the Fan panel need to be changed again & since the Fan's warranty is expired , I have to pay the full charges again. I am so angry and irritated at them right now . I have serious doubt that they lied to me and cheated on me. They just resolved some minor issue but charged me the full amount of Fan in the first place . & now they are doing the same thing again. They are such conman. I am so disappointed with Lenovo service. I tried the customer care but everytime they give me some other number to contact someone else. I contacted couple of times but given no proper explanation or solution regarding this incident. I don't trust Lenovo anymore. I would suggest my friends/relatives to never buy Lenovo products. Lenovo don't care about their customer or have any responsibity towards us.I have already contacted the Consumer Forum and registered a complaint regarding this issue.

I sent my laptop Y460p for repair at Lenovo IdeaPad series Service Centre at Bukit Timah Shopping Centre on the 9th of April. It's been 2 weeks and I have not received calls from them so I called them today and asks them about my laptop. The person who answered the call asks me to wait for him to call back as he will need to go and check.  When he called back, I was disappointed. The person told me that my laptop had just been processed today and ask me to give them 3 to 5 more working days. I am a student. School had already started for me and I really need my laptop. If i had knew that it would take such a long time for them to repair my laptop, I would not have sent it for repair. And I was told that my laptop would take 5-8 working days(usually only 3-5 working days) because they had to extend my warranty. It's already way past 8 working days! It's the 12th working day from the day i sent my laptop for repair and you are telling me you were doing nothing to my laptop? and It's not the first time i had such bad experience with Lenovo. My laptop had problems with the keyboard. So last year, I went to the service centre at bukit timah shopping centre and tried to have my laptop repaired. I bought my T470 a month ago with "3 Years Onsite Next Business Day" warranty. And recenty I noticed there's some problem with my screen, so I called Lenovo. And I've already got the new screen they sent to me.Here is the problem: THE TECHNICIAN NEVER CAME!!! And they keep on saying they will come to fix my laptop "tomorrow", and I can't even remember how many "tomorrow"s have passed!!! What's worse, they would never call to tell you they are not coming on that day, so you need to call again and ask, and they will say they will come "tomorrow", and then they are not coming, and you need to call again. i have issues regarding my keyboard,speaker and cooling fan so i decided to get a servicing and replacement for the keyboard.but the service centre guy took 3 weeks for all the replacements and warranty renewal and i still didnt got the bill.its been a month whenver i used to ask him about the bill he told me he will mail me and after few days he stopped taking my calls.I paid him with a amount of rs.8000 for a 6 month warranty renewal.plus after getting my laptop back some issues started like bluetooth not working at all.i dont know where to contact.help me out with the bill

Hi all,

I posted earlier about downloading the fake XP service centre and it turned out to be a virus. I was asked to post things here differently so I apologise if I've done this wrong again. I used the DDS download and got the following information.

Any help would be much appreciated because I really don't know what I'm looking for.

I currently use AVG Free Edition, Spybot search & Destroy and Spyware Terminator. I've uploaded the two documents that opened up after I ran the DDS. One is pasted below the other is attached.

Hi,

hope you can help me...i have just noticed that my security centre isnt working. When i go to control panel, double click security centre i get the following:

"The security centre is currently unavailable because the security centre service has not started or has stopped. Please close this window, restart the computer (or start the security centre service) and then open security centre again."

The thing is when i restart it never works. I have tried going to control panel/admin tools/services and looking for security centre...it isnt there. The only option i have in that list with the word "Security" is Security Accounts Manager.

I noticed my security centre wasnt working because my little brother has a new computer, i installed all windows updates and SP2, put AVG anti virus on it etc etc.. and windows was informing him when the antivirus definitions were out of date, my computer doesnt do that. i dont know whats happened, i remember i use to log into security centre fine ages ago as i turned the XP firewall off and i had the big green radio lights and windows firewall etc.. now it says its unavailable, but underneath that message im still able to manage settings for internet options/automatic updates/and windows firewall.

How can i start the security centre service if i dont even have the security centre option in control panel/admin tools/services????

I am unable to start the security centre service. It gives me an error message:
Error 1068: The dependency service or group failed to start.
I suspect some malware as it has disabled all services. Now I am not able to connect with Internet and do the scan. Please help

Welcome to Seven Forums Rmalik. This does have all the earmarks of an infection. You might see if you can put Windows Defender Off line on a USB or CD using a friends PC, and run a scan with it.

All should be set to Automatic and Started.

But you need to scan as there is something that has affected services.

If you mean to say you tried doing this in Service and it failed.

Sir Most painfully I want to inform you that, my printer mentioned above in the product name is malfunctioned. I visited at our local service centre  "Advantage" Hospital Road Silchar, for reapairing the same. They charged 550 rupees as servicing charge & they assured me that after Servicing the said printer will perform the job. but sir till now my printer is not working , printed page shows dropout malfunction. Whenever I try to make it on it is turning off automatically ! May be its due to some kinda virus ! Also my windows defender is turned off ! I tried to turn on Windows security center by going into services--> security center --> Automatic (delayed) start . Still no use . I have also downloaded the Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and scanned ! It did not find any !

Until it's determined if/what the virus is, it's hard to say what's yet to come. Doing a full system scan for malware/viruses is the first thing you should do anytime your security software doesn't start.

Try running Malwarebytes in Safe mode while disconnected from the net.

Something keeps turning my Windows Security Centre Service off. I can re enable it via services.msc but after a minute or so it shows as off again (red cross on flag). I have run Kaspersky, SUPERAntiSpyware, Malwarebytes and a Microsoft safety scanner all report no issues found and yet something is turning the windows security centre off. I also find my webpages are redirected and see either goingonearth or webtimes.

Is there an error which occurs when trying to start this service. It could be possible that there is still malware on your computer, or it could just be leftover damage. Do you know what malware you had, and how you got rid of it?

Keep getting the warning flag with the red cross left bottom screen saying security centre turned off
Go to turn it on and get a message The windows security center service can't be started .
If I go to services and go to the security center i find it disabled restart it but after a few seconds it's back to disabled again
Have run malwarebyts in safe mode and got 8 problems cleared them up but still no go
When it first happened is was getting redirected IM results and it has stoped me doing a system restore
after malwarebyts run i don't get the redirects but still no restore and still not able to start security center
I Think thay i have got rid of the main problem but still left some problems in the reg. or have a rootkit
I did try rkill then dtss rootkit remover that did show results but then blue screens me.
Any ideas any one ?

Hi,

I am unable to turn on windows security centre service and the firewall on my McAfee keeps switching off. I have Malware Anti-malware (PRO) but a virus still got through. I ran a scan on McAfee, Super Anti-Spyware and Malware and malware found the following trojan msimg32.dll (Trojan.FakeAlert.RRE) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully.Turned off the computer but still had the same problem with the secuity centre and McAfee Fire wall. The computer just switched off as well.

Can you please advise what I need to do to enable the Security Centre Service. I have clicked on services but there is no Secutity Centre showing, even after Malware deleting the trojan.

worst experiance from  PROMPT DATA PRODUCTS PVT LTD,  mumbai 400072. my laptop having a problem in ethernet port and hinge problem. so i had gone to the above service centre, the details of which i had obtained fom hp website. they charged me a service charge of rs750. they were not able to repair those two. while they are giveing back some rows of laptop keyboard also not working. and they told that it was not working whil im giving to them. there was only one engineer in that service centre and he is irresponsible. he dont realize what he had done wrong. so i had taken my laptop back and give to other service centre. i replaced keyboard. then the same keys were not working in new laptop also. then they checked and they told there was a problem with some ic. the  stupid staff of  PROMPT DATA PRODUCTS done something wrong. now it costs me around 1400, to back my laptop to original condition. totally around 1300(service charge + transport charge)+1400(repairing keyboard ic) around 2800 rupees became waste because of worst hp service centre

After owning a couple of used dell laptops, both were good machines, I decided to take the plunge and buy myself a new Dell 17R N7110.So i was none-to-happy when after 3 months (eminent hd failure) popped up on the screen, and a few more times until it died just after warranty expired and so its been collecting dust for a couple of years till i got over it.ok sorry for the ramble,  I just ordered a 1tb firecuda and i can install it (more $} so how do i go about getting the drivers and os back on the bare hd?

! I purchased a Dell 5759 just a few months ago from Amazon. Since its purchase, the battery randomly cuts out at intervals of every few to several days with no triggering events.  I attempted to seek help a few times but apparently my service tag and express service code cannot be recognized by the system.  I've tried calling the Inpsiron help number, but for better or worse, the call is disconnected when my numbers cannot be recognized.
Now I get a Dell Power Management error that the system can no longer communicate with my battery.  It has ceased functioning en toto.  Without being able to register, I cannot get help for this issue, but when I go to email any kind of technical support, the Service Tag or Service Code are the gateway to having access to submitting a ticket.
I'm not sure what else to do at this point. This is a perfectly fine otherwise smooth running computer but I need the battery to work and not cut out at random intervals.  Any ideas would be appreciated.

Hello all best wishes for us, this is my first post on this forum after searching fro to seek the help of some kind of malware attacks whether on my laptop.
Whether because of my careless causing virus attacks landed on my laptop.
After I turn on the laptop, the boot process was normal as usual. But as already in the process of logging on and has reached the desktop and there is no 10 second sudden pop up saying "Windows must now restart Because plug and play service terminated unexpectedly" also sometimes appears "Windows must now restart because power service terminated unexpectedly" so continuous thing happened this way.
But when I tried to enter in Safe Mode all of this run smoothly.
Can anyone help? I desperately need help for this problem.

Hey all,
I am having an issue with a user connected to our local domain. Whenever they try to log in, it keeps displaying "Windows could not connect to the System Event Notification Service service." I have tried multiple ways of addressing it and have
had no luck with a fix for this. I have tried:

Using 'netsh winsock reset'Uninstall and reinstall network adapter driversClean booting and trying to isolate the issue (did not find anything)
Deleting the font cache Tinkering with the service settings Disabling anti-virus and restarting
System Restore
None of these are fixing the issue for my particular system. It always comes back. The hardest part about troubleshooting this issue is how sporadic it is. It happens every other time the user logs in.

The only other fix I have not tried the hotfix they released for this yet. I don't want to install this until I have exhausted all of my options as this could create more problems.
We have 50+ other computers running Windows 7 on this domain with absolutely 0 issues. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!

I got a Dell Inspiron 1545 here and I want to check the system specifications on the Dell site. I always use the Service Tag for Dell systems but this tag isn't recognized.. Even the Express Service Code isn't recognized. I tried to contact through the Chat but it's getting closed everytime because I can only access the Chat for Sales Advisor. All other options for chat or e-mail are all dependent of my Service Tag. Can you please help me to figure out why it isn't working and what the system specifications are according to your system?

And sorry to say but it's a real annoying system that I can't send a mail without a working Service Tag. I've been looking for over an hour and there is no possibility to contact you without a service tag. I have been getting the following errors when I try to log into my account.

The system event notification service service failed the logon an attempt was made to reference a token that does not exist

I created a built-in-administrator and I am able to get into safe mode though not able to run many programs on it such as control panel and start up repair. I looked at my registry and both of my accounts look fine neither of them had a .bak on the end and so I'm not sure how to fix this if my only option is to delete my user account. I've already done a system restore to a couple days before this happened but, I'm still locked out of everything.

Is there anything else I can do that might help?

Google led me to this post as I was researching the problem myself. I encountered the same issue. In this case on a vista32 ultimate box (although I do own an x64 box in case somebody thinks I'm blasphemous posting here ).

I haven't completely fixed the issue yet but I've gotten a bit further so in hopes of helping the next person here are the steps I've taken.

I was able to log in successfully in safe mode (hit F8 while starting up, select safe mode). Once there I went to command prompt (click the start button, type "cmd" [without the quotes] in the search bar and hit enter. From command prompt type services.msc to launch the services control panel. Find the System Event Notification Service, right click, select properties, change it from automatic startup to disabled, apply the change and "OK" out of the dialog box. You can now restart the computer and log in normally.

This isn't really a fix, it's a temporary work-around. SENS is needed for COM+ to respond to things like login and startup events. I've also noticed that my system is very slow right now. My next step is to find a way to generate a new token for SENS and then hopefully I'll be back at 100%. I currently have Dell researching that for me (this happens to be a Dell laptop). If I get a solution short of a reinstall to that one I'll post it too.

Hello, I have been having problems with Windows 7 explorer constantly crashing and restarting whenever I right-click on or open any files and folders, search in the Start Menu search box, opening My Computer, Control Panel, etc. In essence, it is limiting most of the interface. I was able to pinpoint the problem using Safe Mode and msconfig to the 'Power' service (C:\windows\system32\svchost.exe ?k DcomLaunch). And once I disabled the 'Power' service, everything seems to be fixed.

However, disabling the 'Power' service will disable audio service for the system. To fix the audio service, I tried changing the Power management, reverting back to previous restore points, updating the audio device drivers, trying to enable the Windows services in services.msc for 'Remote Procedure Call (RPC)', 'Plug and Play', 'Multimedia Class Scheduler', 'Windows Audio Endpoint Builder' and 'Windows Audio' to activate sound again, but 'Window Audio' depends on 'Windows Audio Endpoint Builder', but 'Windows Audio Endpoint Builder' seems to depends on the 'Power' service. And I can?t activate the ?Power? service again without crashing Windows explorer. How do I go about fixing this issue? Can I replace the ?Power? service files? Or update them? And help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I have had my Inspiron 15 3000 series since the end of August and was liking it until is started beeping a few weeks ago - sounds like a truck backing up.  It does it 5 times and repeats 3 times when starting up.    I tried online support but you cannot get anywhere until you enter your service tag number or express service code neither are recognized.  I tried calling support but they could not identify my computer with the numbers either (I took pictures of them on my tablet and made them larger so I know they are right).   I purchased my laptop on line. Initially there was a message about the power source, but I have popped my battery out and  back in and the error message no longer pops up but is still beeps.   I am at a complete loss as to what to do at this point and am incredibly frustrated.

Hoping to get some help/answers.
Just purchased the above laptop in the subject line, believing it to have a 'backlit keyboard', when what I was reading actually said 'backlit Display'.
We really want a laptop with the backlit keyboard.  Can I purchase and install a Dell backlit keyboard for this laptop, and actually have it work once installed?
Our only other option is to return the laptop and purchase a different one with that feature, but we got a great price on this one, and I have researched keyboard prices and they are not that expensive.
