Lenovo T570 issues

Q: Lenovo T570 issues

Hi, I've purchased new Lenovo ThinkPad T570 with the following specs: CPU i7 7600UGPU 940MX32Gb RAM1Tb SSD PCIe (Samsung PRO 960)"15.6UHDLTEBatteries: 32Wh 4Cell Li-Ion front battery + ThinkPad Battery 3 Cell Li-Ion (24Whr) - up to 13.5 hrs according to OEM System setup: Win10 x64- All unnecessary apps are off/deleted (all background apps disabled)- No resource-consuming apps running (Skype and that's it)- Visual Windows effects are turned off- All possible background Windows services (such as error reporting, Cortana and etc. are off). I did not touch any services through msconfig though, they are at defaults.- Power type: Balanced- Screen brightness at 95% What I am experiencing from time to time is dimming screen (Power Options -> Advanced Settings -> Display - > Enable adaptive brightness is both OFF (on battery and plugged-in). 1. What can be the cause for dimming? 2. Other question - battery is holding maximum 5.5-6 hrs (no resource heavy tasks, only browsing, 1080p videos on youtube). How to optimize that? 3. Windows update or simple JAVA setup can trigger fan to start working heavily blowing basically cold air - very annoying. All newest drivers are installed. BIOS is updated to the latest version. Feedback is highly appreciated. Thank you.

I recommend downloading and running DAP. It can help sort out any driver and firmware related issues on your system

It's worked out well for many of us in the past.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloaddap.org. (This link will open the download page of DAP so you can save a copy to your computer.)

Hello, My company recently purchased a dual 4k setup for a work station. The setup is the following:2 ThinkVision P27 monitorsLenovo ThinkPad Thunderbolt 3 DockT570 (Type: 20HA) I setup the monitors and docking station yesterday and was able to power the displays using a X1 Carbon 5th gen (i5 model type: 20HQ) thru USB-C without issue. I have a user testing out the desk now with a T570. I'm able to get one monitor to funtion at 4K and the other is running at 1080p. If you check display settings I'm unable to increase the resolution to 4K. I've updated all drivers on the T570 including the display driver and thunderbolt docking station driver this morning and the system still fails to power dual 4K. I brought back the X1 I used previously and it powers the screens normally. I checked the specs of the T570 and its identical to the X1 as far as processor is concerned and the model page claims the USB-C port on the T570 can power dual 4K. What else can I try?

Not sure if right section. I'm leaning towards a T570 with an Intel vPro processor (i5-U model), however for the duration of warranty and what-not, does it mean that Lenovo Support can/will use it to help me solve potential problems faster? Or is it only for the use by my IT department (which i don't have), and won't help getting assistance from Lenovo Support? Thank you in advance for shedding light on this!

Hi guyz )  I have encountered this quite unusual problem with my notebook. I have been using it for three months including the Bluetooth services (connecting devices, sharing files, etc.) but today I came home and the icon is gone and when I try to open the settings, there is no switch button for "Turn bluetooth On|Off" and all paired devices say, that "Bluetooth is turned off".   I have already checked some advices on the net saying I should reinstall my BT drivers, but when I open the Device Manager, there is not the item "Bluetooth radios". From this all it seems to me, my notebook somehow forgot it can use Bluetooth.  Any advice will be appreciated )

When my T570 restarts, sometimes it stacks at the logo screen like forever. I have to press the power button to kill the power off then it can be Stared normally. Another problem: The X key on my keyboard doesn?t work well, I have to press hard to input letter X. Any suggestions of this? Do I need to replace the whole keyboard?  I am kind of disappointed on Lenovo quality control, how a big company let this small issue happen...

Good Morning. I have an issue with a T570 laptop's trackpoint BUTTONS. Machine is running Windows 7 Pro. When the "generic" Microsoft Compatible PS2 driver is installed, the Trackpoint and 3 Buttons work with no issues, however you lose all gestures on the touchpad. When any version of the Synaptics driver I can get my hands on is installed, the Trackpoint continues to work, however the 3 buttons die. The trackpoint check box in the UltraNav settings tab is checked. If I uncheck, the trackpoint stops working (as would be expected). Checking it again allows the Trackpoint to work but the buttons remain dead. Without being too long winded I do want to throw out there that this laptop is in an Enterprise environement and was imaged using a build from T560.If the Windows 7 OS that came from the factory is left on the machine, the Trackpoint buttons function with no issue.Note that the driver versions of both the MS Compatible PS2 driver and the Synaptics driver between the Factory image and the Enterprise image are the same. I'm sure the solution is buried in the registry somewhere, just not sure what to change or delete entirely to get the buttons reenabled. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

We just got a 570 in today.  It's got an i5 7500u, don't know the storage capacity because it's a demo unit that was lended to us for a few weeks.  When I boot into the BIOS it doesn't show any drives.  When I use boot manager it only has PCIe LAN or Windows Boot Manager.  When selecting Windows Boot Manager nothing happens it goes back to that screen.  I can boot to WDS (where we have an image for the 570 with the 6500u) and it didn't see any volume.  I thought okay that's fine I'll boot from a Windows 10 USB.  I get the exact same issue.  I've messed around with secure boot, changed legacy and uefi settings.  The only thing I haven't done is open the machine up to see if there's even a drive inside.  Anybody have any other options I could try?

HI, I have a Lenovo ThinkPad T570 hooked up with the Lenovo LS2251 Wide monitor via HDMI to DVI adapter. The computer recognizes the monitor but the screen is blank (monitor also recognizes a digital signal but switch back to VGA input). The connection works properly with other Lenovo 19 inch monitors (ie tested on L197 Wide) and with my 42 inc LCD TV, but when trying to get the display on my LS2251 Wide it doesnt work. I also tryed to connect it to another Lenovo 22 inch monitor (ie LT2252p) which doesnt work as well. The only difference is that this time the monitor isn't eaven recognized by the T570. Both monitors worked well when they were connected to my older Lenovo Thinkpad via same HDMI to DVI adapter. All drivers are up-to date as well. Please help.

We've got a T570 that we're going to use for a standard image but we have just one minor problem.  The home page is set to our intranet page, but whenever we click on the home button in IE (we have to use IE) it opens an additional Lenovo home page tab.  You can hover over the home page button and it's got our intranet page.  You can click the down arrow next to it and it's got our intranet page.  When you check the IE settings you cannot find Lenovo anywhere in the homepage area.  Just not sure why it might be doing this and if there's maybe some registry key or something we're missing.  We're also running Windows 7 Pro.

I've experienced very annoying issues with VBA excel programs from the purchase in May 2017. When I launch a long procedure in VBA, it starts' ok utilizing up to 50% of CPU for a few seconds, than CPU utilization drops down to almost 0% and stay there for very long time. Not sure the reason, I believed it's something related to CPU temperature but it's probably not; the very same procedure run ok on my older T540p and on my desktop PC (which had the same problem which was solved by an update of BIOS of MB Asus z170 pro gaming). My T570 has i7-7500U, UHD, 512 NVMe, 8+8 GB. Is one else having the same problem? ps. I also had the problem of heavily degraded performance when running on battery and without Internet connection, which seems to be common, but that looks like solved recently with Power Management update

I used Lenovo Settings on my Lenovo Yoga 3 11 for the battery conservations mode. So I was forced to install Lenovo Companion since it recently replaced Lenovo Settings.Ever since I did this, I have noticed the following:* Screen brightness keeps changing by itself slightly* Screen contrast keeps changing by itself slightly* Colours look muted and unsaturated, and filtered. Makes the sceen look worse than it should.* trackpad is only ignorred if the tablet mode is fully flat. The slightest opening causes the trackpad and keyboard to become sensitive. All of this irrespective of whether Dynamic Brighness Control is enabled or disabled in Lenvovo Companion hardware settings, and regarless of whether recommended hardware settings are used.Anyone else noticed anything similar? I'll report back after I've uninistalled the app to see whether any of these behaviours disappear.

A:Noticed issues ever since I installed Lenovo Companion (which replaced Lenovo Settings)

So I deactivated "Change brightness autoatically when lighting changes" in Windows Display Settings. This seems to have been the cause of the brightness and contrast changes, but the colours still look blander than I recall. Sorry to suspect Lenovov Companion so quickly, but the changes coincided with it's installation. Admittedly Windows 10 Fall edition just landed too.

Hello! I am new to Lenovo and picked up my 1st laptop yesterday when my HP died. I have always had HP and grew tired of how easy they break & poor battery life, so I wanted to try a different band. I love the computer, the keyboard, track pad & screen are amazing. I bought the ideapad 320-15IAP for about $330 (Including tax) The specs at the store advertised 4.5-5 Hours of battery life, but I have not been able to get a charge better than 2 hours. For someone that uses my laptop at work and on the go, this will not do. Can any one offer up any advice? Does lenovo sell stronger batteries for ideapad that I can replace with this current battery?  My next issue is the Windows 10 update that you are forced to do, I have been trying to install it since 9PM last night, it is now 9PM tonight, a full 24 hours, and it has not fully installed. I have done my fair share of google searches and many people have had these same issues too, but no good solutions outside of deep computer hacking, I don't want to have to do that on a brand new computer. Thanks for any and all help!

Since you have to hunt around different Lenovo sites (and other sites) to find out about these softwares, I decided to make a post to get feedback from actual Yoga owners on how these programs interact, what they do, which ones are prerequisite, and which ones are unnecessary. Please don't take this as a blanket answer. This is just what I have found. It might be right - it might be wrong. I'm looking for others to post their experiences as well. Lenovo System Interface Foundation Driver - Necessary prerequisite (missing driver in device manager without it). It allows the Lenovo Utility and Lenovo Companion to work. Lenovo Yoga Mode Control - Necessary if you want to use your yoga to seemlessly change between all the different modes (laptop, tablet, tent, stand). This software is responsible for autorotating and putting Windows into tablet mode. Lenovo Utility - Recommended(?) This one I'm not too sure on. I remember that I was missing some function that I wanted but I can't remember what it was now. Maybe battery cycle count and health? Lenovo Companion - I don't have this one installed and don't think it's necessary but would like someone else to shed some light here.

Good Day All So i received a Lenovo T61 laptop from my monthers work seeing as they sell all their old units when they have no use for it anymore I received the laptop installed with Windows XP seeing as all there programs they developed was based on Windows XP. Now my biggest issue was i never tested if the usb ports worked when Windows XP was installed, but never the lest i intalled Windows 10 (From a USB drive). Everything worked on the laptop but not the USB ports. I intalled every single driver i could find for the laptop and till no working USB ports. I then intalled Windows 8.1 and still nothing My last option was to go for windows 7, but still it did not work. The usb ports work when booting from them but as soon as i boot into windows they stop. Why would this be?? Maybe i dont have supporting drivers? Also i must also just say the Laptops battery is dead as can be and maybe thats a reason why ports dont work, i really dont know and i have read every page i could find and still i cant solve my problem Sooooo . . . . any help or advice would be great Regards

A:issues with Lenovo G50-80

Hi HC,

Welcome to Lenovo Forums.

We are really sorry to hear about the issue you are facing.
For brightness issue, I would recommend for you to download and install the latest chipset & energy management driver & check if the issue still persist or not.

For not sleep issue, Can you try turning ON or OFF the Hybrid Sleep
Here's how you'll get to the settings.
When you put the computer to sleep, is the power button blinking?
- Link to picture

If not, this is probably the reason why the machine is not waking up from sleep because it's not asleep in the first place. In this case, reboot the machine, perform a clean boot and observe (this is to isolate any processes running in the background that's possibly interfering with the sleep process).

Other things that you can try:

Check this Recommended Settings for Sleep
Turn off Fast Start-up

For HDMI issue, please check by performing the Flee-Power in the computer then re-install then connect the HDMI and check by pressing Winkey+P select ?Projector Only? option. Below are the steps to check and resolve the issue:

Remove the battery and any other peripheral device connected to the computer.
Hold the power button for 10-15 seconds and then connect only the AC Adapter and try to turn ON the computer.
Open your Lenovo Energy management and turn off the Hard Drive power Saver option.

Hello.I've had my Lenovo G50-70 for quite some time now, once aquired as a christmas gift. Nowadays i use it for gaming, but sadly i've also had certain issues with it. For example, one already adressed in the fourms, screws randomly falling off the computer. It was too late when i noticed this, so now i've lost 4 out of the 10 screws in the back plate of the machine. Also, an issue with the battery, because of wich, i have to put the computer into hibernate in order for it to charge. This one i suspect could be just because of usage.Something i came across while searching about my problems was the fact that the model itself was discontinued. So my questions are:- ¿What caused the discontinuation of the product, and is it somehow related to my personal issues?- As far as i know, my warranty has expired (1 or 2 years ago, actually), so, ¿could i somehow renew it, or proceed in an action of such kind about my product? Thanks.

hi faddyie,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

About the heating issue, It may be just normal, just make sure the computer has enough ventilation underneath when you use it.
Im more concern about the keyboard being pushed it when you press a key.
I strongly suggest you bring the computer where you bought it and have them look at the issue as this may seem to be a hardware issue.

Hi everyone! I'm having a few problems which seem serious to me. My laptop (Lenovo Y700 15-ACZ) sometimes restarts randomly without any warning, usually when Youtube, Adobe Reader and Microsoft Word are open, at least that is what I've observed. I'm running Windows 8.1 64 bit. I did some tests through the Lenovo Solution Center, all tests came back OK, except the following: -the Memory test gets stuck on the first element, the "Quick random pattern test"-the Graphics test gets stuck on the first one as well, the "Video memory" part The bar wouldn't fill, but I can hear the laptop working and it slowly starts to heat up. Another, miscellaneous problem is an "Unknown device" in the Device Manager, "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)", "on Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Embedded Controller". What could be the problem? Could it be a faulty RAM?

Hi,So its difficult for me to pin down the problem here but I know that its not my Wi-Fi as i've had this issue at college and at various homes, cafes. I'll be browsing the internet when suddenly my thinkpad will disconnnect from the internet. Note, usually it will say that it is connected to the router but it isn't getting any connection. I will use another device at the same time that experiences no issues. When using Skype I lose calls frequently. It's dissapointing considering I dropped 1 grand on this laptop only to use my 100 dollar smartphone in many situations. Thoughts?

A:Lenovo Yoga 700 Wi-Fi Issues

Hi jreder007 ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

To start with I would suggest you try to check on the wifi adapter properties .

On Device manager , choose the wifi card and right click for Properties , Power management to uncheck on Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power .
Advance tab would also show Roaming tendency / aggressiveness that you can move to highest.
See if that would would , else you may proceed with uninstall and reinstallling your WIFI driver downloadable from the support site .
Update us how it works for you .

Hello, I have been having a couple of issues for some time now, but lately they are starting to annoy me. When I play some games my CPU overheats very easily. Playing Rust or Crea is almost near impossible, because the laptop just overheats and my fps drops from 60 to 10 and even lower. I can not play most of my games anymore without undervolting the processor with ThrottleStop. I undervolt the processor to ~0.79, which is an offset of -45.9. When it is undervolted most of the problems go away, however I want to know why is my processor not able to handle these games? I have a i7-4720HQ, which for some reason is limited to 2.6 GHz. And also Nvidia 960m. My friend has the same processor but his laptop is a Asus and his is limited to 3.6 GHz, without overheating. If I make mine to 3.6GHz I cana use my laptop for about 10 minutes, if playing games. I also gave the laptop for the thermal paste to be changed but that didn't help at all. I cleaned the fans but that also didn't help. I have an external fan, which is always on as well. Any ideas what to do? The keyboard issue is pretty simple. When I restart the laptop everthing works fine. Hibernating the laptop makes the backspace go 1 by 1 letter and not the usual fast deleting. To fix this I have to go to keyboard settings and change the keyboard repeat rate, which fixes the problem until the next Hibernation or Sleep. I mostly ignore this and it sometimes fixes by itself, after waking it up, but very rar... Read more

So, i got a Lenovo y50-70 with an i7 2,6 GHZ AND 3,6 GHZ Turbo boost, 8 GB Ram, NVidia 960m 4gb and 1080p. My Problem now is, that whenever i start a game (like CSGO, GTA V, MW2, Trackmania 2 and more) the CPU clocks itself down to 2,6GHZ. I looked at the Power managment options everything is at 100 %, also the NVIDIA and INTEL settings are all on Max Performance. The funny thing is: When im using google chrome or copying some files, it clocks itself on to 3,6GHZ. I also did some virus scans - everything is OK. I tried to leave chrome open and start a game: BOOOM back at 2,6 ghz... i really dont know what to do - I even reinstalled all the intel and nvidia drivers (but we all know windows 10 is doing its own thing ) I grateful when someone could help me

Lenovo designed that processor to disable turbo boost when running CPU hungry applications(This can also be temparature limit or power limit throttling)....... If your temparatures are safe u can use the intel XTU utility to tweak the CPU to your needs.....  Link here... CheersKamal

I have had my lenovo for about a year and a half but issues arised 1 day after my warranty expired, very convenient. I have just now found out about a forum.  My audio works fine when on a hardtop table, however audio goes away once tilted forward slightly on a pillow or on a softer base below it resulting in the audio from my videos/music being replaced by a clicking noise. Not sure if this is a hardware of software issue.  HELP PLEASE

So today I noticed some flickering on my laptop's monitor, I restarted the computer and the backlight on the monitor is acting strange. It appears like half of the backlights are on while the other half are out, causing this weird pattern of columns of bright sections of the screen followed by dark sections. When the laptop is unplugged, the backlight doesn't work at all making the screen impossible to see, also changing the brightness setting while it is plugged in has no effect on the lights. Please help.

I recently upgraded the RAM from 8gb to 16gb (2x8gb from kingston). To my dismay, Lenovo has proven that I have instead downgraded since my RAM mghz dropped from 1600 to 700, a more than 50% decrease in speed. Since Lenovo has decided I am not tech savvy enough to use the BIOS and has partnered with Insyde to lock us users out of our own product, I am wondering if Lenovo customer/IT support has any idea how to fix this issue. To be clear, the issue is that I am unable to access the BIOS which is what you would normally use to access the hardware in your system. Due to "upgrading" my RAM size, I have inadvertently downgraded my RAM speed. A solution would be nice, since Lenovo believes its clientele to be stupid and locks its clients out of the BIOS.

I have recently bought a Lenovo G70-70 but have had Touch pad issues. Often on start up the touch pad is unresponsive, so I have to turn it off by holding down the power button, which does normally rectify the problem, but it's new and shouldn't do it. I have tried the Lenovo 'One Key Recovery', twice, incase one of the window updates, of which there were quite a few, I assume because this was a brand new laptop, had corrupted something, but each time this issue has returned, all be it intermittently yet too frequent on what is a two week old laptop. I have also run on several occasions the 'Lenovo solution center' and Lenovo 'updates' software, two apps that came already installed, each time no issue was found yet each time this intermittent issue remained. As a last resort I have just downloaded and installed the touchpad drivers from the Lenovo website. If this doesn't work (it has so far?..) and before I take it back, has anybody else had this issue? It would be a shame if it is faulty as I am gradually getting to like it, I confess the AccuType Keyboard is taking a while to get used to but I dare say that will become more familiar and intuitive in time; he says hoping he that hmy new laptop is actually OK and that I will eventually get used to this very light touch AccuType keyboard......

Welcome to the Lenovo Community !

Here are a couple of things to try.......

First, try doing a BIOS reset.  This procedure can be useful in resolving hardware problems where there maybe a conflict.  Completely shut down Windows and do this......

1. Unplug the charger / adapter. 2. Remove the battery. 3. Press and hold the Power Button for 15 seconds. 4. Re-install the battery, plug in the charger / adapter if needed and power up the system to see if the problem was resolved.

Secondly, if the reset didn't work then try uninstalling the touchpad driver, reboot the computer and then install a fresh copy of the touchpad driver.

Click here for the Windows 7 version

Click here for the Windows 81. version

If the above procedures didn't correct the problem then the problem is mostly likely the touchpad itself and returning it would be a good idea.

Hi there,
I have a windows general problem since i've upgraded to windows 10 with my lenovo laptop

At some points, the windows bar does not respond anymore, be it when clicking on the "window" or on the logos on the right side. Plus, there is no sound anymore or sometimes you can't even play a music or video, like on youtube you click on play, nothing happens. Or even on a music software on my computer (Itunes for example).

It looks like lenovo hasn't done a proper job to be prepared for windows 10 or maybe I have a software or something that conflicts with windows 10. I have no idea really but could you please advise me what this problem might be?

Thank you very much
